Chapter 25: Battle In The Sky & Sea! Vs. Ho-Oh & Lugia!
Michael and the girls quickly left the Dance Theater and headed for the Bell Tower.
Ruby - "Man. Sucks we can't join you for the trek up the tower."
Michael tapped his communicator, and out popped a camera and screen that were wirelessly connected to each other.
Michael - "There. Now you girls can watch the battle, no problem."
Twilight - "You're the best Michael. Good luck."
Michael - "Thanks."
Michael then slowly walked towards the Bell Tower. He walked into the clearance building and showed the Ecruteak Gym Badge to the monk blocking his way to the Bell Tower.
Monk - "I see... That's the Ecruteak Gym Badge. The Badge alone will not do any good, but I can let you through. Please, do go on."
The monk then moved aside, letting Michael continue his way to the Bell Tower. Upon entering the tower, Michael is once again stopped by another monk.
Monk - "That thing you have...!"
The Rainbow Wing then flew out of Michael's bag and showed itself to the monk. The monk quickly realized what it meant.
Monk - "You have done it... Please come through."
The Rainbow Wing returned to Michael's bag, and he silently walked around the monk, climbing up the ladder. Michael slowly made his way through the Bell Tower, solving the numerous floor puzzles placed in front of him. After the long trek, he finally reached the top. As he climbed into the roof, he saw a battlefield was somehow able to be placed on the entire roof. Near the center of the battlefield, Michael found the five Kimono sisters waiting for him.
Zuki - "Yes, this is where we welcome Lady Ho-Oh. When the dance we practiced for many days becomes one with the sound of the Clear Bell we entrusted to you, then Lady Ho-Oh shall come down from the great arch of the sky once again!"
Michael sat on the ground of the battlefield and pulled the Clear Bell out of his backpack. He then began to meditate.
Zuki - "You're going to meditate?"
Michael - "Less of a distraction for you girls so you all can focus on your dance to bring back Lady Ho-Oh."
The five Kimono sisters then quickly got into position as the Clear Bell began to float into the air.

As the sisters began their dance, the Clear Bell resonated with them. Soon the bells hanging from each of the roof's four corners began to resonate with the dance as well. Suddenly, a portal of light appeared in the sky, which everyone in the city could see as well. Out of the portal came a majestic bird of mostly red and gold feathers, with the feathers on her wings being white and green on the tips. The bird then let out a majestic roar as she hovered in front of Zuki.

Zuki - "That IS indeed Lady Ho-Oh... The guardian of the sky around here from ancient times... So many have tried and tried, only to fail... Michael, your heart and the Clear Bell in harmony have finally made her appear... Michael, don't you see? Lady Ho-Oh must have been waiting for someone like you all this time. Wouldn't you agree...?"
? - "I say he already does."
Zuki turned around in shock as Ho-Oh spoke to her.
Ho-Oh - "I saw your battles with Lady Suicune and her brothers. As far as I'm concerned, you AND your Pokémon should give me a fun challenge!"
Michael - "And I intend to do just that ma'am!"
Ho-Oh - "Good. Now show me your true strength young Michael!"
Michael activated his Battle Disk.
Michael - "With pleasure!"

Legendary Battle: Michael (6) Vs. Sky Guardian Ho-Oh
Michael - "Let's go Espeon!"
Espeon - "Right!"
Ho-Oh felt an aura coming off of her.
Ho-Oh: Attack +1, Defense +1, Sp. Attack +1, Sp. Defense +1, Speed +1
Meanwhile, the girls, along with all of Johto, were watching the battle in awe.
Clair - "Here we go."
Ruby - "Come on Michael. You and Espeon can do this."
Back on the Bell Tower's roof, the real fight had truly begun.
Turn #1
Michael's Hand: 5 + 1 = 6
Michael - "Psychic Booster and Ghost Booster! Psy Shadow!"
Ho-Oh - "Sunny Day!"
Michael's Hand: 6 – 2 = 4
Psychic Booster: Turn 1/3
Ghost Booster: Turn 1/3
Sunny Weather: Turn 1/5
Psychic's Current Power: 90 + 45 = 135 + 27 = 162 + 32.4 = 194.4
Shadow Ball's Current Power: 80 + 16 = 96 + 19.2 = 115.2
Psy Shadow's Current Power: 194.4 + 115.2 = 309.6
Ho-Oh easily dodges Espeon's attack and sends a ball of fire into the air.

Michael's Hand: 4 + 1 = 5

Michael - "Psy Shadow!"
Ho-Oh - "Sacred Fire Blast!"
Sacred Fire's Current Power: 100 + 50 = 150 + 75 = 225
Fire Blast's Current Power: 110 + 55 = 165 + 82.5 = 247.5
Sacred Fire Blast's Current Power: 225 + 247.5 = 472.5
Both Pokemon fired their attacks, then dodged their opponent's attacks easily.

Michael's Hand: 5 + 1 = 6
Sunny Weather: Turn 3/5
Psychic Booster: Turn 3/3
Ghost Booster: Turn 3/3
Michael - "Psy Shadow!"
Ho-Oh - "Sacred Fire Blast!"
Both attacks met again, but this time Ho-Oh overpowered Espeon.
Espeon - "What?!"
Espeon then reacted slowly to dodge and got hit by part of Ho-Oh's attack.
Michael - "You ok there Espeon?"
Espeon - "Just fine Michael!"
Ho-Oh - "I'll give you both credit for the good fight so far. But Don't Think For A Second That I'll Let Up!"

Michael's Hand: 6 + 1 = 7
Sunny Weather: Turn 4/5
Michael - "Psy Shadow!"
Ho-Oh - "Sacred Fire Blast!"
Psychic's Current Power: 194.4 - 32.4 = 162
Shadow Ball's Current Power: 115.2 - 19.2 = 96
Psy Shadow's Current Power: 162 + 96 = 258
Both attacks met in another stalemate, but this time Espeon was completely overpowered and took the full force of the attack.
Michael - "Espeon?!"
Espeon was on the ground, lying in a heap from the attack. Michael fell to his knees in despair, in utter disbelief that Espeon fell so quickly.
Espeon - "No..."
Michael's head then suddenly perked up.
Michael - "Espeon?"
Michael watched as Espeon slowly rose to her feet.
Espeon - "I refuse... To Fall Here!"
Michael smiled at Espeon's vow.
Michael - "You're right Espeon. This battle's far from over."
The duo then glanced at Ho-Oh with a fire in their eyes.
Michael/Espeon - "Give us your worst Lady Ho-Oh! We'll fight back with everything we have!"
Ho-Oh was amazed at the amount of willpower her opponents were showing. She then smiled.
Ho-Oh - "You both have earned my respect. Very well then! Let this next turn decide the entire battle!"
Turn #5
Michael's Hand: 7 + 1 = 8
Sunny Weather: Turn 5/5
Ho-Oh - "Sacred Fire Blast!"
Michael - "Wait for your chance to strike back Espeon!"
Espeon - "Right!"
Ho-Oh fired off her attack as Espeon closed her eyes, ready to dodge when needed.
Michael - "Now Espeon!"
Espeon heard Michael call out to her and jumped with all the strength she had left, narrowly dodging Ho-Oh's attack.
Michael - "Psychic Sword, Ghost Sword, and Rock Sword! End this battle now Espeon! Psy Shadow Gem!"
Michael's Hand: 8 – 3 = 5
Psychic Sword: Turn 1/3
Ghost Sword: Turn 1/3
Rock Sword: Turn 1/3
Psychic's Current Power: 162 x 2 = 324
Shadow Ball's Current Power: 96 x 2 = 192
Power Gem's Current Power: 80 + 16 = 96 x 2 = 192
Psy Shadow Gem's Current Power: 324 + 192 = 516 + 192 = 708 x 4 = 2,832
After dodging Ho-Oh's attack, Espeon fired off her own, hitting Ho-Oh point blank and making her take the full force of it. Espeon then landed on her feet.
Espeon - "Now Michael!"
Michael - "Go Ultra Ball!"
Michael threw the Ultra Ball at Ho-Oh, who was lying in a heap on the ground. The ball hit Ho-Oh in the head and sucked her into it.
One shake.
Two shakes.

Michael - "We did it...? We Did It!"
Michael walked over and slowly picked up Espeon.
Michael - "I'm very proud of you Espeon."
Espeon - "Thank you Michael..."
Zuki and her sisters walked over towards Michael and Espeon.
Zuki - "You have not only made Lady Ho-Oh appear, but you have also caught her... You and your Pokémon are so wonderful. There's nothing more for us to say. However, now we must go get things set up in the Whirl Islands. We'll see you over there."
Michael then suddenly used his psychic powers to move himself and Espeon, along with the Kimono sisters, down to ground level.
Michael - "There. Now you girls have a head start."
Zuki - "Thank you Michael. See you at the Whirl Islands."
Michael - "Stay safe."
Zuki and her sisters then headed off for the Whirl Islands, as Michael rejoined the girls and headed to the Pokémon Center to heal Espeon and Ho-Oh.
Twilight - "You doing ok there, Michael?"
Michael - "I'm just fine Twilight. I'll admit though Espeon and I cut it close there."
Clair - "I'll say. I totally thought she had been knocked out on Turn 4."
Michael - "I did too. But she instead found the willpower to stand back up and end the battle on her terms."
Ruby - "So now it's just Lady Lugia left, right?"
Michael - "That's right."
Weiss - "Sadly that also means we CAN'T join Michael in the Whirl Islands."
Michael - "Then I'll just do the camera feed for you girls again."
Soon Espeon and Ho-Oh were fully healed. Then the party was on their way to Olivine City. Upon reaching Olivine City's harbor, Michael got the camera feed set for the girls, then made his way to the Whirl Islands. After a long solo trek through Route 40, and the western end of Route 41, Michael finally arrived at the Whirl Islands.
Michael - "Ok here we go."
Michael made his way inside the cave. As he traveled through it, he realized just how much of a maze the caves in the Whirl Islands truly were.
Michael - "Man. And I thought the up the Bell Tower was annoying. This is so much worse..."
After what seemed like forever, he finally came across someone in the caves. And to his shock, it was a similar looking monk to the ones he saw at the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City.
Monk - "That thing you have...!"
The Silver Wing inside of Michael's backpack floated out and into the monk's view.
Monk - "You have found it... Please go ahead."
The monk moved out of the way as the Silver Wing returned to Michael's backpack. Michael then walked down the path the monk had been blocking. Upon reaching the bottom of the winding path down, Michael entered the cavern and found Zuki and her sisters standing in front of a pedestal.
Zuki - "That's right. This is where we welcome Lady Lugia. When the dance we practiced for many days becomes one with the sound of the Tidal Bell we entrusted with you, then Lady Lugia shall come out from deep within the waterfall basin once again!"
Zuki and her sister got into position as the Tidal Bell floated out of Michael's backpack. Michael also once again decided to meditate while the sisters did their dance.

As the sisters began their dance, the Tidal Bell resonated with them. Soon the bells hanging from each of the cavern's four corners began to resonate with the dance as well. Suddenly, a massive Pokémon appeared out from the waterfall and floated above the water as she flapped her wings, which everyone in the city could see as well. The creature floating above the water had all white skin, with eight navy-blue progs sticking out of her back, as well as two other navy-blue progs around her eyes, and a light blue belly. The bird then let out a majestic roar as she resumed floating over the water.

Zuki - "That IS indeed Lady Lugia... The guardian of these islands from ancient times... So many have tried and tried, only to fail... Michael, your heart in complete harmony with the Tidal Bell has finally allowed her to appear... Michael, don't you see? Lady Lugia... She must have been waiting for someone like you all this time. Wouldn't you agree...?"
? - "You asked him the same question before he fought my sister in Ecruteak City."
Zuki turned around in shock as Lugia spoke to her.
Lugia - "I saw your battle with my sister Ho-Oh. Much like her, I'm also looking forward to the challenge you and your Pokémon will bring me.
Michael - "Then we'll make just have to make sure we fight you with everything we have!"
Lugia - "Good. Now bring it!"
Michael activated his Battle Disk.
Michael - "With pleasure!"

Delcatty - "On it!"
Lugia felt an aura coming off of her body.
Lugia: Attack +1, Defense +1, Sp. Attack +1, Sp. Defense +1, Speed +1

Michael's Hand: 5 + 1 = 6
Lugia - "Rain Dance!"
Michael - "Stand back and do nothing Delcatty."
Delcatty did nothing as Lugia fired a ball of water into the air, causing it to start raining from the roof of the cavern.

Michael's Hand: 6 + 1 = 7
Michael - "Ghost Booster, Electric Booster, and Ice Booster! Shadow Thunder Ice!"
Lugia - "Hydro Aero Sensory!"
Michael's Hand: 7 – 3 = 4
Ghost Booster: Turn 1/3
Electric Booster: Turn 1/3
Ice Booster: Turn 1/3
Rainy Weather: Turn 1/5
Shadow Ball's Current Power: 80 + 16 = 96 + 19.2 = 115.2

Michael - "Shadow Thunder Ice!"
Lugia - "Hydro Aero Sensory!"
Delcatty unfortunately fired attack too early, giving Lugia an easy chance to dodge and fire back, which in turn caused Delcatty to take the full force of the attack. The explosion of the attack caused Delcatty to crash again the wall.
Michael - "Delcatty?!"
Michael rushed over to check on his downed Normal-Type. Delcatty then slowly rose to her feet and walked back out onto the battlefield.
Michael - "What are you...?"
Delcatty - "Showing my resolve. Just like what I did against Lady Suicune and what Espeon did against Lady Ho-Oh. We ARE winning this battle and catching Lady Lugia."
Michael was stunned at first, then he smiled at Delcatty's no quit attitude.
Michael - "You're right. Now let's end this battle with a bang!"
Delcatty - "Right!"
Lugia - "I admire your tenacity and resolve to end this battle on a high note. Now come! Show me the undying will you have to beat and catch me!"
Michael/Delcatty - "Yes ma'am!"

Delcatty ran over and jumped into Michael's arms.
Michael - "I'm so proud of you Delcatty."
Delcatty - "Thank you Michael..."
Zuki and her sisters walked over to Michael and Delcatty.
Zuki - "You have not only made Lady Lugia appear, but you have also caught her... You are once again so wonderful. There is still nothing more for us to say. You and your friends take good care of yourselves on your journey..."
Michael - "Thank you for the well wishes. You and your sisters take care of yourselves too."
Zuki - "Thank you. We will."
