Chapter 82:A Guilty Cat
The sun roze over menageir as the citizen where doing their daily routine for today but inside the belladonna household still asleep right now was yang from comforting blake last night. As she stirred to awake her lilac eyes opening them slowly before feeling something on top of her.
She looked up seeing blake sleeping soundly as her ears folded over her head curled in a semi circular ball purring slightly like a cat. Yang couldn't help but smile as she gently nudged her awake.
"Kitty wake up before you start purring"yang said as blake opened her amber eyes giving a big cat stretch before blushing mad quickly getting off her.
"I..um…did we cuddle all night with each other?"blake asked completely embrassded. Yang only smiled kissing her on the cheek making her blush even more.
"Its fine. We where both comforting each other after finally being back together. How are you feeling?"yang aksed as blake stared at the bed for a moment rubbing her arm for a moment sighing. Because she felt better getting that off her chest.
"Better i just hope i can fix things with everyone. Along with my little sister"blake replied as yang just hugged her from behind.
"Don't worry you will i'm taking a shower then we can have breakfast"yang said but blake had an idea in mind.
"Or we could use the onsen that was installed in my house"blake suggested at she smirked nodding liking the sound of that. The two quickly grabbed their clothes as they made their way over to the onsen in just in time. Once they got their they quickly changed into some towels as blake blushed slightly seeing yang in her current attire.
But once they got their they were met by a strange sight as already their was kali, aruna along with calida their joining them with a relaxed expression.
As she had a very toned legs and arms despite her appearance along with the towel reaching to the middle of her thighs. While she had a bit of clevage showing from her towel as the two were surprised by them being here.
Blake insticvly covered herself up"ah! What are you three doing here this early in the morning"she shriekd
Kali had a teasing look"Why can i not show my old friend the benefits of my new home thanks to…nadia favor"She said with a slight upset look.
"Yeah because seriously this is so relaxing right now like all my worries melted away"aruna admitted dunking her head slightly.
"I definitely needed this. Seriously i may only be a dance instructor part time but i was so stressed right now"calida said relieved.
"Well i need this right now seriously my neck is still killing me from getting bit"yang said getting in herself feelignt he hot water with a sigh of relief. Blake hesitantly got in blushing slightly hoping her mom doens't mess with her right now as her ears flipped over relaxed right noe.
But blake quickly heard that'wait you were bit? By who?"she questioned as she gesutred to two puncture marks on her neck.
"Jeez that looked like it hurt who did that to you?"aruna questioned
"Adder tannin that snake was their in argus trying to dismantle the weapon factories their. Luckily emerald identified the posion in time but i had a nasty lump on my neck for a bit"yang replied disgusted by it.
Calida chuckled slightly stretching her arms for a moment"yes dear though your very lucky to have survived that. Still surrpised that he let my daughter leader live."she replied which made blake think about that for a moment that was confusing.
"Wait…now that you mentioned that. Onxyia did mention how she got to call him hearing him take his last breath. Why did he let him live?"blake questioned as they thought about that for a moment
"Oh simply epxlantion he talked about his family that boy must have had someone he cared about. Although…"kali started before sneaking up behind calida groping her chest making the women turn bright red.
"I remember a certain situation that happened back in beacon when we were younger"kali said with a toothy grin.
"Ah! Fur ears…i swear to g-god if you start doing your dumb antics like you and kath did back in the day i swear!"calida warned going flush
"Aww but its funny i recall you being a nervous wreck one time. You were very nerovus to ask out your partner at the time. "Kali said placing her chin on her shoulder.
"That you found the cold brother more appealing than my alive loud mouth partner"she added
"Gah! Stop it k-kali…seriously tease your daugther since her girlfriend is here"calida siad throwing them under the bus as blake ears flopped over with worry now. Kali released her hold with a grin and teasing look right now.
But yang crossed her arms groaning right now"please don't mess with us right now i just wanna wash up. Then figure out how where gonna solve this problem we stumbled upon"she reminded as it made kali back off.
"That we can agreed upon…i'm sure ghira is working on a speech right now as we speak"kali replied before calida got revenge by quickly groping kali hips making her let out a sqeak in surprise
"Revenge fur ears for what you pulled on me. But you are right we need a plan although you said their looking for him still correct?"calida asked as they nodded
"Alright why are you bringing this up right now?"aruna qeustioned as her tail swayed underwater
"Well i'm just saying why don't you go help them since blake here will probably help with the speech. Maybe make amends still for what i heard you said."calida said with a slight glare as aruna looked down sighing hugging herself.
"Okay i get it….what i said wasn't right. Seriously you guys didn't see what i saw"aruna replied making them curious.

"That the guy kept acting like an animal tearing out that beowulf guys eye along with relocating his broken joints. Like he was ready to kill him after turning into a dog"aruna answered making yang looked surprised by that. As calida figured out that his semblance must have evolved.
"Huh thats…not what i was expecting but lets get out of here then grab breakfast"yang said as they quickly got dried off returning to the house for breakfast. As summer was their right now who helped prepare breakfast for the day with a smile toward her niece. Breakfast consisted of eggs, hashbrowns and some strips of bacon.
As already eating breakfast for the day was verona who was next to luna who had bit of a mess on her face. Along with sienna who was discussing with ghira on the speech while holding sorrel as someone else joined them today that being lisa.
The women noticed calida"ah calida dear i don't take you remember me but i am..'she was stopped
"Oh lisa dear its been too long. How long has it been since i last saw you"calida greeted with a hug as she returned it.
"It would be about three years now if i recall during that business convention with other companies. I was showing off my new supply of dye products your husband showing off weapons if i recall. I heard he gave us ships and weapons"lisa said before returning to her seat.
"It seems your letter did reach them on time thank god someone not being a child"she added as calida glared slightly.
"Umm did you guys not tell her who sent the weapons or not?"aruna asked to the women confusion. As kali eyed the girl who had to open her mouth because they didn't.
"We didn't because well someone else sent word to my old teammates to send weapons. That would be umm…nadia son"kali answered which made the sabertooth have a sour look scoffing loudly.
"Are you trying to make me feel sympathy for that thing? For starters it should be dead and you need to hunt it down. String it by it neck until it is dead then let the faunus here burn its corpse. I also heard another one is dead, that horrible lancer–"she was stopped as quickly verona grabbed her by the throat squeezing very hard on it as she gasped for air.
"Don't talk ill about my best friend. Because i'll have someone take my daughter out and i'll show you how the branwhen tribe treats people like you"verona warned as lisa pounded on her arm to let go.
"Auntie let her go!"yang shouted as the bat faunus did as lisa coughed getting air in her lungs before scoffing walking toward the door.
"I'm leaving now, your all idiots for wanting to defend a monster. Good day"lisa said with a slight horased voice as she slammed the door. As they took their seats eating breakfast as ghira was going over the small speech he planned to give later today to the faunus of the island.
"So yeah she seems rude….what with her?"calida questioned
"She just doesn't like that boy is all. But apparently from what i heard from velvet that man protected him or something in those labs. Along with someone else"summer said glancing toward verona who interest was peeked.
"Wait…you telling me meli was actually normal for a bit?"verona asked eagerly as blake was surprised how invested she was but still really didn't trust him.
"It appear he did but i plan to give the speech at around a half hour before one. To tell the faunus here of our new advantage for havan. It might bolster their spirit to want to continue the assault"ghira replied as calida relaized why they were also here.
"I forgot to mention this…the assault on havan has been moved a month ahead of schedule. Your spy sent me word back in argus"calida annoueced to their shock its been moved as blake held her head.
"Thats just great…lets get this stupid speech over with. Then hope for those ships to arrive, how long until then?"blake asked as calida sighed thinking for a moment.
"About four days mainly hes making a few more ships which is taking all his workers right now. Along with partnering with a couple others to complete it. But they'll be fast enough to transport your entire island"calida said as they began to plan their speech for the faunus today while aruna left the house to try and do something.
Meanwhile at the coastline outpost right now sangie was going over her current plan right now. As yohi was their along with asani close by messing with something right now. That being a small drone as she had a toolkit using a screw driver on it.
But she was more concerned staring at a map of menagerie right now as she had several places circled through the entire island. But all of them where mainly places being the belladonna household reading"Assinate family?" along with pictures of ghira with his two daughters and wife. Mainly because that spider faunus wanted them dead because if she fails it might be her head.
Their was also some on picture of miyuki on their with an unknown location along with an old picture of summer their. Along with one of piper that uras girl who gave her the scar on her cheek which she hated her for. But along with that brat she used to watch over back in the day who bite her alot. Yohi was their scrpaping his armblades against a sharpening stone to keep them nice and sharp.
"Having trouble dear? I take it your struggling to figure out what to do next?"he smugly asked as she growled.
"Sorry that its hard for me to figure out how to properly recon that dam town full of faunus!"sangie roared as she threw stuff off a nearby table as it crashed to the floor of the command tent startling asani slightly as she yelped but continued with her work.
Sangie began to pace around stomping with each step"i can't properly recon the dam place with all those guards everywhere! I've lost alot of my men your may be suitable for now but they have alot of huntsman and huntresses now"she said before looking at the new photo that being the cackling cull with the others who just arrived.
"Now we apparently have them getting weapons and armor from theifs!"sangie cotninued her rant as yohi listened as asani was in fear of what might happened if she wants to use something to relive herself from her anger.
"I'm more suited for assest containment not this crap. Champ is way more suited for this crap becauses he used to be a commander in the military. Until he got kicked out seriously i'm surprised that watts even sent me to dam place at times"she admitted before taking a seat then grabbed a flask close by.
Then grabbing a freshly brewed cup of coffee she dumped the contents into it before taking a swig as she twisted the cap back on. She needed to calm herself.
Yohi laughed slightly"Relax we may have trouble with reconing the entire place. But my slave and my two operatives pretending to be a family is working very well in my opinion"he said before glancing toward asani who masked displayed a scared emoticon.
"D-did i do something wrong?"She asked stuttering as he chuckled.
"No…no i'm wondering if your finished with that project i requested for you to do for me?"yohi asked peeking sangie interest right now as she crossed her legs together for a moment.
"What is this project that you assigned her to do abiu?"sangie aksed intrigued now
The masked girl gulped neoruvsly before closing the hatch on th device to reveal a quad rotor in her hands. Picking up a remote she pressed a button as it whirred to life as it began to fly around for a bit. But snake noticed a device attached to the bottom of it.
"So do tell what this little drone of yours can do kid? Because it better be good because it might put me in a good mood"sangie asked as the girl nodded nerovulsy before ehxaling to calm her nerves.
"Umm well…the drone functions like any other drone but it does have cloaking features"she said pressing a button as it shimmered before dispapering from sight.
"But their also the fact that i built in a sonar device to listen in on anything. Along with a built in thermals, nightvision, emp pulse and a built in taser for close range combat. But…umm well..theirs is a problem"asnai said hugging the remote as sangie stood up not liking how thats sounding right now as she cracked her knuckles for a moment.
"What kind of a problem?"she growled ready to smack the girl upside her head as asani closed her eyes tight.
"The problem is that it has a short range! About only twenty meters since all the equipment on it messes with its control range!"asani quickly answered expecting to be hit but instead sangie groaned rubbing her face not liking it. But with that dumb drone it'll make reconing the island easier along with checking out the belladonna household for any sign of their targets.
"That…will do for now. Alright yohi have your soldier study the device incase they need to operate it. But have a few of them and mine leave a package in the woods incase we need to set a trap for omega. If that things still out their by itself we capture him then persuade him to join us again"sangie said with a stun baton activaitng it as it light up slightly as the mantis faunus grinned.
"I shall tend to that. Now lets get this job done maybe i could sink my blades into a few unlucky faunus guards that stray off the path"yohi grinned evily to head off to prepare a trap for their target.
But all the way across the island right now in a small cluster of houses where kuo kuana was was a specific person home. That being a two story home with a similar style of building like the rest of them across the island right now. But this was home to a certain crocodile faunus.
Inside the home right now was roland as he was in the living room with a few of his faunus followers along with one person that being mitch. Who was his nephew along with that his home consisted of a simply little living room. That had a couch in the middle of the place with a coffee table their. Their was a medium size TV as well in the room to watch the news.
Off to the side was the kitchen with a dinning table big enough to seat about four people it seems. As right now the toad faunus was showing something off that being a crate filled to the brim with crossbows, hatchets, swords and other types of weapon.
A faunus cocked back a crossbow"So your saying these things are powerful enough to pierce an uras hide?"she asked as mitch nodded
"Yep pops said these things are pretty powerful. Can't believe one of those dam grimm knights is here."mitch said in disgust.
Roland growled in anger as his tail thrashed"oh i can't either. Ghira keeps telling me to not hunt that thing down. I'm sick of listening to that man because for starters i'm not letting that thing live. He deserves to suffer for what he did to my daughter"roland said recalling what happened to his daughter that he lost because of that thing.
One month ago.
It was exactly one month ago right after the events of the fall happening as right now in the great kingdom of vacuo right now. Several people where being escorted of bullheads and cargo ships still panicking slightly over what happened in vale right now.
Alot of them where injured cilians, soilders and a few students as they were crowding the landing area they established in the city. But right now running through the crowd looking for someone right now was roland in his usual attire. The thing he was looking for was his daughter right now since he came to watch her during the vytal festival.
"Little croc! My little crocodile where are you?!"roalnd shouted as he could barely hear himself over the crowd of people here. Alot of them crying right now as he saw some holding dead loved one it seems along with alot of dead bodies or people injuried being taken off the ships.
The man kept searching like crazy for any sigh of his daughter right now until he noticed something. That being one of his daughter teammates that being zydra who was on a stretcher right now. But her abdomen has a crimson red stained banagded as she had a breathing mask on her mask as she was barely conscious right now.
"Zydra!"roland called out rushing over as the medics tried to stop him.
"Sir back up she hurt pretty bad we need to get her treated right now"a medic warned but was ignored.
Roland shook her slightly"where is my daughter? Where is your leader at right now?!"roland demanded as tears began to form in his eyes. Zydra weakly looked up at him with tears already staining her face just sobbing right now.
"I shouldn't have gotten hurt…i'm sorry…i'm so sorry"zydra cired to his confusion as the medic took her away. But another past by him as he noticed who it was his daughter.
That being a girl with tan skin as she seemed eighteen years old with a athletic build to her. Her hair was lapiz blue that reached her back with light green eyes. Her faunus trait was some crocodile scales on her skin as she wore a pair of brown booty shorts with black boots. Along with wearing a long sleeve shirt colored light bue with a maroon vest to match. But it was heavily torn as she had a bloody abdomen as her chest weakly rised.
Roland had tears breaking through"lapiz!"he cried rushing over to her as the girl noticed her father smiling. The medics sat her down as one of them looked at the man with regret as he cradled his daughter body who weakly returned a hug.
"Oh…hey dad…its nice to see you again'lapiz said before going into a coughing fit coughing blood up as it stained his shirt as the man began to panic.
"I need a doctor…please i need a doctor i can't loose my little girl!"roland begged with tears as the medics looked at him with a regretaful look.
"Sir…sir i'm sorry she not going to make it…we ran out of medical suppiles on the way here. I'm sorry"the medic apologized as the man began to cry holding his daughter close knowing who did this too her. As he gentle held her sobbing right now as the girl was slowly closing her eyes hugging him close. Until she went limp in his arms as he roared in rage as he drowned everything else as two people approached him.
Present
As they sat their from the kitchen someone cleared their throat as the five looked up to see who it was. That being a women close to his age with tan skin as she had blonde hair braided into a ponytail. As she had light yellow eyes wearing a simple light green blouse with brown skirt. That let her crocodile tail out.
"Oh hey aunt sophia you need something kinda busy right now?"mitch said as the women known as sophia diles glared.
"I want all of you out right now i need to talk to my husband alone"sophira ordered as they nodded taking their leave. Roland scoffed picking up the mace in his hands that belonged to his little girl. The two stayed silent for a moment until she decided to break it finally.
"Dear…are you actually considering killing someone in our daughter's name?"sophia asked worried now as roland growled.
"Are you insane? I'm not killing a person, I'm killing a monster! My little girl is gone because of that thing and she never coming back. So many people families lost someone because of that thing"he begun getting in her face scaring her now
"But…dear please listen but our daughter did what a huntresses would do. If you recall what her teammates told you i.."sophia was stopped as he growled as his tail thrashed heavily.
"I'm not continuing this because i'm hunting that thing down today. Then i'll avnege my daughter and no one is going to stop me"roland growled as before she could even stop him he left the home slamming the door shut to his hurt wife right now as she glanced toward another room because he still had another daughter. But that man was on a quest for vengeance and he'll do it tonight.
Although right now in the town right now leaving her home was onxyia who was busy doing one thing right now. That was finding someone to fix the laughing skull necklace as she knew of one place that might work. A trinket shop that she asked her mother about it confused her but when she showed the necklace she told her about the owner.
But as she walked through the streets of menagerie she was deep in thought right thinking about her talk with her mother. That being her relationship with him part of her still really hates him for what he did to her. But for some reason another part of her felt very worried for him right now.
Like a certain feeling because even though when she thinks about him at times he still makes her heart beat faster along with acheing for something it seems. But she kept pushing that thought in the back of her mind.
"I can't still love him can i?"she thought to herself to not sound crazy.
"Theirs no way i still have feeling for him. He might have treated me with kindness but he hurt my heart terrible. He probably didn't have anything planed for me for what he put me through"She continued that train of thought but stopped it immediately almost.
That didn't sound right to her because in that video calida showed her, it showed him hesitating to call her that nickname he gave her. Like he was expecting something bad to happen with their relationship. Xander or akasha probably told him that she hates her emotions being toyed with. She wondered what was he going to do to apologize to her.
As she let her mind wander she soon found herself at her destination that being a small store that had two glass windows in the front. It showed a few antiques in the window but standing outside pacing was her father confusing her.
"Dad?"onxyia called out as declan shot up hidding something behind his back.
"Oh uh…little cub what brings you over here at this time of day?"declan asked confusing her for a moment. He should know why.
"I'm here to get the necklace chain fixed…why are you here?"onxyia questioned
"Well uh you see.."he tried to say but revealed it that being the smashed up wooden angel statue as she figured it out. Without another word the two entered the store to be met by an elderly mancoon faunus manning the counter who greeted them.
"Ah declan a surprise to see you here. How have you been i heard your son back in town and is alive"the women greeted
"I've been alright edith but i was wondering if you could fix something for me. Given your specialt dear"declan asked before placing the wooden angel statute on the counter. The old women gently picked it up as her hands shook slightly but seemed intrigued with it smiling a little feeling it around humming to herself
"Oh well this is very interesting"she said gently placing it down.
"Whats interesting?"onxyia asked
"Well I can tell sometimes by the piece how much care was put into the work along with its meaning. This could mean thanking someone for their good deeds brandishing them as a kindred spirit"edith explained making delcan feel even more guilt right now
"Oh really could you fix it maybe?"he asked
"I can't deary sorry it's handcraved, you can tell by these small dark stains it seems someone cut themselves making it"edith pointed out a small bit of dried blood to the man onxyia hoped she could fix the necklace.
"Well could you maybe fix this necklace it belongs to a friend of mine"onxyia said hestiaiting on the friend part. Edith took it gently examining it chcukling slightly.
"This is a simple and easy fix i should have a spare chain in the back for it"edith said making her tail wag hearing that. But before she did the sound of the door being opened could be heard as they turned to be faced with cardin who noticed the two. As he greeted the old women.
"Excuse me miss is that thing i requested fixed up?"cardin asked as edith turned to him.
"Oh it is deary it took me a day at least. But i managed to restore it i'll go grab it after i make a quick fix for them."edith said shuffling to the back as the three stayed in complete silence. As they did declan thought of doing one thing real quick that would be apologzing to the kid.
"Look kid…i wanted to tell you something real quick i'm…"he didn't even get a word out.
"I already know your sorry for slugging me across the face old man. Seriously no harsh feeling"Cardin said to their surprise he knew what he was saying.
"Wait..i..i didn't even get a word out. Because for starters I am still mad for what you did to my little girl. But why didn't you turn her in…and why did you treat her like utter garbage along with other faunus"declan asked as he thought for a moment but didn't need to as edith came back already finished.
"I'm back deary heres that pocket watch you requested i fix up for you"edith said placing a pocket watch on the table as instead of its rustic look it was silver in color now with his symbol clean up on it. But cardin opened it seeing the still faded picture inside smiling slightly as onxyia eyed it piecing it together.
"That…that belong to someone you know doesn't it?"onxyia asked as he closed it pocketing it.
"It does my dad. He came here five years ago but uh died…by some white fang. Used to be friends with faunus back then started hating them every since. Though i changed my tune after my punishment ozpin dished out on me. "Cardin said eyeing the other item edith had that being his friend necklace with a worried look.
"Why do you have his necklace?'cardin asked worried as onxyia gently took it pocketing it sighing before paying edith for her work with a fifty lien card with a tip. As cardin payed for his as they walked outside.
"I found it in the desert last night he must have lost it. How….hows the search going?"onxyia asked as he sighed rubbing his eyes.
"Bad, we could use falk ship but with whatever atlas taught him i guess. Guys good at hiding but…why do you care all of sudden? I thought you hated him?"cardin asked as the two wolf got silent on that for a moment as declan rubbed his face still holding the smashed up statue.
"Look we figured out all that stuff wasn't faked and…hearing that he did all this. Was a bit rude on our part yes, but…part of me is still weary of him"declan admitted
"Yeah but…i'm just worried about my leader. I'm surprised your worried you bullied our entire team why are you so chummy with us?"onxyia asked as cardin sighed beginning to walk away as he explained.
"I felt terrible for how i treated you guys. Made it up to grimm boy finding colt gym talked to firestarter after her freakout with the sisters uncle helped velvet work the courage up to ask you two out. Then for you…you were just watching out for your brother. I should have gotten more info before making assumptions."cardin said turning around toward the two with a somber look.
"Do me a favor. If we find the guy try to make it up to him…his mental state right now is not the best. "He said as she nodded as the three went their separate ways for the day now. As she wondered if he'll even want to see her again or be near her.
Although right now over in zoey house right now they were all finishing up their breakfast for the day right now. As coco was happy to finally be at full strength since her aura healed enough for her to lift her minigun now. But despite being out of shape for a bit she can still hold it. Though right now velvet along with emerald cleaned up their dishes as velvet sprouted a different outfit.
That being a light brown jacket with multiple pockets that is left open to reveal a white tube top to show off her stomach and compleimtned her chest along with form fitting jeans. She also wears a belt that has a container for her camera. Along with that wearing a black thin longsleeve underneath it all with her symbol emblazoned on the back.
"I can't believe the others are safe along with yang being here"velvet cheered happily.
"Speak for yourself i heard around that you, mercury dragged the other hayley girl around for a murderer quest"may added snarkly as emerald sighed rubbing her neck for a moment.
"Look..i…i really didn't plan that thing out. Blondie was the one who wanted to go on a murder quest actually"emerald said to their shock as zoey was in her usual attire but choked on her drink with a hurt look right now.
"What?!"zoey asked as her tail fluffed up as akata pushed her down to calm her. As sun was their brushing his teeth spitting it in a nearby trash can as he quickly rinsed his mouth out in the bathroom spitting in their.
"You serious? Her…rogue the bubble blonde of that entire school. Who makes weapons of mass destruction"sun asked
Emerald sighed as she dried her hands off"look she did alright she was hurt after what happened. I was too, cinder…cinder meant alot to me"she said as coco soften her gaze before going into her and velvet room their staying in. Then she returned with a box as she dug through it pulling out that photo they brought from beacon.
"Forgot about this vel and some others headed back to the dorms in vale. Got a few of our things their…picked this up their"she said handing emerald the photo frame of cinder with amber their both smiling. The girl felt very touched by this fighting the tears whipping them away sighing setting it down hugging velvet which caught her offguard.
"Thank you. This means alot to me if merc was here it would too. I owe that women and her alot"emerald said
Zoey chuckled"yeah kinda hurts to hear auntie died a long time ago. Seriously that women dotted on cinder when she was a kid. Called her…cinny if i recall"she said as emerald laughed slightly at that for a moment.
"Really? Oh cinder hated it when she called her that acting all embarrassed and stuff."emerald replied earning a few good laughs at that. As falk was also their grabbing some grub before they left for their search.
"Find anything else their?"falk asked. That was when velvet froze dropping a plate to the ground she was cleaning as it shattered when it hit the ground. Velvet began to shake, almost trying to not cry as it shocked them. Akata got up walking over trying to comfort the girl who began to sob right now crying her eyes out.
"Why are you crying?"sun asked concerned as coco clenched her fist knowing why.
"Take her outside to get some air please"coco asked as akata nodded doing that. As they sat in silence the girl sighed taking her shades off rubbing her eyes to explain.
"Bun and them figured out who killed yatsu and fox"coco answered to their shock at that moment right now.
"Wait…but..what happened to them?"emerald asked shocked right now. Coco took a quivered breath as if to calm herself as she swallowed hard as her throat consitrcted slightly, she needed to keep her tough girl act up.
"I..i…that bastard scar watts killed them. I asked uncle what happened…he…he snaped my partner neck like it was nothing. T-t-then he..stabbed yatsu in the heart…he killed them like it was nothing"coco said covering her eyes but zoey could tell she was crying as tears streamed down the girls face.
The fox walked over removing her hand to reveal her crying but she tried to cover them up.
"H-hey what are you doing…my makeups messed up..i.."she was stopped being pulled into a comforting embrace.
"Kid drop the tough girl act. I know it hurts that their gone but let some tears loose for them. Because next time i see that kid i'm punching him square in the jaw and his mustached dad"zoey siad as coco cracked burying her face into her shoulder crying a little letting some tears out but closed them up after a bit sniffing rubbing her eyes.
"Feeling better?"falk asked
"Yeah…it just hurts hearing those two are gone still. But we should get going so we don't loose our other friend. Alright?"coco said as they nodded walking outside to velvet who calmed down. But to sombra and aruna their with vance glaring at the two of them right now.
"Uhhh what are you doing here cat tail?"Sun asked as sombra blushed slightly avoiding his gaze.
"Oh uh well..i…i kinda wanna help. Show some good faith…for my dad. And sorry for what i said about your dad. That night was emotional"sombra aplogize to the annoyed lynx who rolled his eyes.
"At least your all finally seeing reason for now. But the other cat did apologize but you owe cousin for what you said"vance said to aruna who sighed wrapping her arms around herself.
"I…i know…look i wanna say sorry to you and him even if he didn't hear it. Plus…i know this island pretty good. truce?"she asked as they waited for a moment as zoey groaned rubbing her eyes.
"Fine you two go with pilot boy, bunny ears and shades mcgee here. Search the woods for him while we search the other woods east of here"zoey ordered as they nodded splitting up already. After maybe about an hour of walking they were beginning their search right now as mainly were following sombra. The sabertooth was following a trail right now that being some footprints which might be his. Which was alot better than before.
"Man can't believe you used to be a pilot in the military. Who would have thought"coco said since he told them about his time in the military.
"Yeah you really don't fit the description of someone in the military"sombra added
Falk chuckled"well i got kicked out for very stupid reason. But worth it in my opinion hope uncle pyke got back to atlas despite the borders closing."he said as aruna swated at the nearby bugs biting her.
"Nice to hear another grimm knight gone but…hearing she was someone who didn't ask for it. Is a little upsetting"she replied earning looks from the three for the two previous actions. But coco eyed sombra who looked down hearing that sighing.
"Alright girly spill your here because you wanna ask him about your dad don;t you?"coco questioned making her tail straighten out with an embarrassed look as her tail swayed around for a bit.
"I..i..ummm yeah i'm guessing he was with him at one point. To leave a statue for him and a bundle of flowers"sombra asked. Velvet ears sagged slightly thinking about those lab memories she saw shivering.
"I think he did while we removed the mental suggestion. It…showed him meeting six of the grimm knights for the first time. He was crying for his family but your dad tried to tell him everything will be alright. With him being lucky number seven they could escape maybe"velvet answered making her feel warm hearing her dad do some good still.
"Thats nice to hear that my dad did some good but…"she stopped as velvet put a hand up telling them to be quiet. Her ears twitch to the sound of voices motioing for them to follow her which they did. After a few minutes sneaking into some bushes they found something shocking. That being about four crimson talon soldiers and two operatives. As they were busy unloading a crate that contained ten ak-130 with their colors and symbol painted on them.
"Talon…crap guess their still on the island"Falk whispered loading in a new magazine as they evasdropped on them. An operative had his tactical sword out walking around issuing orders.
"Alright unload these bots then we head back to base. Set them to sentry mode one of our scouts reported seeing the subject in this area. Once they spot him hopefully it'll be terminated for reprograming"the operative stated to their confusion but luck right now.
"So he visits this place often…guess we got some go–"aruna said before leaning too far before stumbling out of the bushes. The soldiers and bots looked at her as she nerovusly laughed at them as they began to point their weapons at her. But quickly aruna instivly activated her semblance creating a rock wall as the bullet delfected off it.
Quickly breaking from their hiding spot falk dove behind cover as he shot back at one bot disabling it but a hail of bullets came his way. Coco brought her minigun out at the ready right now waiting for a chance to provide covering fire. As velvet quickly pulled out a familiar shield and sword belonging to jaune. As sombra readied her spear changing it into its rifle form firing back taking one bot out.
"Dang it cousin you gave us away!"sombra shouted over.
"I'm sorry i slipped a little but hey we can get rid of these guys real quick!"aruna shouted over taking out the dual pistols.
Falk peeked over cover but ducked back down to avoid getting shot in the head"if we can shot at them! Seriously their holding position we need a distraction or something!"he shouted over them but as the soldier began to slowly advance on them. In the nearby tree lines someone was on the prowl eyeing them down as a soldier advance foward but something was shot into their leg.
"What in the…"she stopped as she went up flying screaming in the air before someone grabbed her by the throat in the tree. Then dropped her to the ground as she screamed again but landed with a thud groaning on the ground. An operative looked up seeing zane their in his prowler form eyeing them down.
"Subject spotted shoot to kill!"the operative ordered firing at him as the bots changed directives firing at him as he began to leap from tree limp to tree limp dodging their bullets. This gave coco the chance as she broke from cover as her minigun spooled up as she began to fire a mixture of electricity dust bullets and fire bullets at them. This resulted in one of the soilders who blocked most of the bullets but ultimanly got overhwlemed falling back a bit of ways.
As she managed to destory three of the bots leaving five left. This gave velvet the chance to break from cover as her and falk doubled teammed an oeprative. But as she tried to shield bash them they flipped over her in an instant then spin kicked her hard into a rock. The operative pulled out a combat axe laughing.
"Poor little vermin….have to be quicker than that"the operative stated raising his axe to strike her but falk rushed forward firing into him several times as he blocked the bullet. Which gave velvet enough time to recover as she quickly slashed at him sending him back a bit sliding on the ground growling at the two continuing their fight.
Sombra provided covering fire trying to take out those bots but from the tree tops zane jumped down. As he jumped into the fray as he landed on one bot kicking its head clean off. Then he presented his claws digging them into another bots chassis tearing it apart instantly. Another bot tried to jump him but his tail whipped back slicing its head clean off its shoulder as it fell to the ground.
Aruna was a little surprised firing at the bots but her bullets missed and one hit him on accident as he snarled like an animal making her yelp.
"Sorry!"she apoligzed but the two bots both tried to swarm him but his ears flicked as he dodged them. Then he opened his maw biting into one face tearing it off destorying it as he molted it off before unveiling his hidden blade stabbing the other in the head. As one of the soldier lunged at him trying to capture him.
"Die you dam freak!"he roared but he quickly dodged his strike panting heavily going into a small coughing fit. Which sombra noticed as the soldier punch him in the side as she rushed over to try and help him. But as she did the second operative rushed at her firing off pistol shots holding his tactical sword out. The cat aura took it as the two got into a clash as the operative pushed back trying to stab her.
But she fought back deciding to deal with this soldier before she helps someone who might know about her father in the time in those labs. But with zane he grunted as he caught the soldier fist before pushing back far enough to create distance. Then he pulled the blade turning it into a rope dart. Then he rushed forward completely flipping over the soldier then turned into his golaith form bashing his head behind the soldier skull cracking it. The other operative noticed their current number.
"Tactical retreat back to base to regroup!"she ordered as the other nodded pulling out a flashbang throwing it to the ground illuminating them. Once the light died down it the only soilder left was the one fighting zane. But for him he was busy going into another more violent coughing fit leaning against a tree for support.
"Oh thank god…heyya grimm guy its me feathers friend. The pilot how yah.."he was stopped before zane quickly picked up a pistol aiming it at him making them put their hands up.
"Whoa take it easy with the piece. Seriously we aint here to hurt you"coco reassured putting her handbag down as velvet set her camera down. Aruna hesitantly puts her down actually scared since he looks a little pissed.
"Screw off…i thought i told you i wanted to be alone. Your all here to just lure me into a false sense of security then publicly execute me"he said in complete fear trying very hard to not pass out which hurt velvet.
"we wouldn't do that just calm down alright. I know your mental state isn't the best but you look terrible"Velvet said concerned.
"Just stay away…rather not have you get involved…shouldn't have fallen in love with a monster. You'll just get hurt now leave me alone"he growled making her a little scared by that reaction
Sombra slowly stepped forward placing her spear down infront of her"okay seriously i'm sorry for my mom behavior. But…look, I want to return the same kindness my dad showed you. "She said making him ease up slightly but kept the pistol trained on them.
"Yeah and ummm…when the heck could you turn into a dog?"coco questioned confused as he scoffed
"Semblance evolved simple as that, but…"he said before raising his pistol shooting into the soilder leg as he cried in pain reaching for a radio. He walked over grabbing it pressing the button on it pointing the pistol at them still.
"Hey rupal…if your hearing this…i'm coming for you. Gonna pay for all those beatings you dished out on us back in the day. Along with breaking diego jaw"he said peaking sombra interest as the radio came to life with someone laughing.
"Oh…oh…you're that brat. Well i'll be an uras uncle why don't you wait where you are so we can meet. I promise i won't bring any soldiers"sangie said on the other end as he scoffed.
"Screw off. I'll just interogate this guy right here to find where you are then…i'll let..t–"he stopped letting go as he began to go into another violent coughing dropping the radio as he covered his mouth dropping the pistol. Then he began to gag as he leaned against a tree puking whatever was in his stomach panting heavily.
"Are you doing alright…because you look very sick"velvet asked concerned but he began to puke black tar from his mouth. Then he began to cry in pain before he started to grow in size as soon enough white spikes came from his back. As a large tail like apengage came from behind his tailbone.
"What the heck is happening?!"aruna shouted in horror as velvet realzied what was happening he was losing control.
"Oh…oh no hes losing control…we need a syringe before he turns into a grimm"velvet said but it was too late their stood zane in his monster form. He snarled at them on all fours as they nervously backed up they've never seen a grimm like this. The soldier took this chance to split running away from them.
"Oh crap…we're so dead right now aren't we?"sombra asked but to their surprise it began to make a cracking noise then it spoke.
"Go away"it said in a distorted voice to their shock. Then it reeled back roaring at them causing them to become quite scared right now. But it began to cough for a bit before running off deeper into the woods away from them. They gathered for a bit what just happened.
"So….he could apparently control that now. Greatttt"falk said shocked right now.
"Alright we should head back to the others and tell them what happened. But…i'm so confused right now. What type of grimm is that?"sombra asked as they had no clue heading back to town.
But right in town was time for the small speech to the island as the faunus of menagerie gathered infront of the belladonna household as their was some muttering on what their chief was about to speak about. Infront of the podium was ghira with saber and his guards. To his left was blake and yang as they stood sielntly as summer, kali, sienna and sorrel where their as well. Along with calida
Ghira raised a hand causing their muttering to stop as one of them asked something important.
"Is this meeting for how were going to be dealing with that grimm knight and mercs on our island!"a vocal fuanus shouted as some had the same question
"It would but i thank you all for coming today for an opportunity to address something. May that be a problem right now i will get to it at some point. But i'm here to tell you we have great news for the attack on havan. My old friend calida hayley husband jaki hayley owner of hayley hardwares sends us aid. That being airships and weapons to fight agaisnt the white fang for havan it'll arrive in six days. Along with that the attack has been moved a month in advance. But as for the grimm hybrid we are coming up with a solution to deal with him. That will be all today."he stated his short speech as the faunus seemed rather annoyed but overjoyed to hear they could get to havan quickly. But as they disappeared once person approached them that being nadia.
The tiger looked rather anger"So…the mighty cieftian will lie to his people on who actually sent for those airships"she growled as some others were with her except for coco and her group.
Sienna sighed"dear you need to understand if we told the faunus that they wouldn't believe us. I'm sorry were trying our best."she said
"Your best is letting faunus kill my cousin. I'm pissed off…they told us that jaki showed you those maps and gave those syringes to them. How the others are heading to windpath to get aunt lil miss"vance growled
Blake sighed"look the faunus won't believe that i'm sorry we're trying our best right now. but –"she was stopped
"Shut up girly. Because right now all you've done is nothing for the past four days. My kid might be dead now and its all your family's faults"nadia said pointing to blake, the blairs and khans. Though arriving was coco and company.
"Oh hey guys any luck out their?"may asked
"Uhhh if you count running into talon soldier then grimm boy. Who apperently can control that monster form of his now"falk answered to this shock as vance internally groaned that he did that probably to scare them off.
"Are you…thats just great proves my point kids dangerous. I saw that thing on the news its terrifying"nix stated but ghira closed his eyes asking one question.
"I take it you were unsuccessful in helping him?"he asked as sombra sighed
"Yep. though i'm tired and ready to go to bed after fighting those mercs. At least we got rid of some of them and turns out hes looking for their camp."sombra said as they were going their separate ways but onxyia tapped nadia on the shoulder as she growled at her.
"What do you…"she was stopped as she presented the laughing skull necklace as the tiger gently took it.
"I found that last night in the dunes. Do you want to do the stupid rematch now zedhong?"onxyia asked may who eyed her nodding. As the two sniper were going to have another dual just like in the vytal festival.
It seems that onxyia and may will have their sharpshooters rematch again to relieve some stress. Though it seems that roland has big plans for the thing that helped take his daugther away from him. names mentioned are my own oc's. Thanks for reading!
