Chapter 83:Hybrid Hunt

Over in the market district right now was neo, jazmine, cardin and yumi walking around enjoying themselves on a bright new day. They were trying to enjoy themsleves for a bit after a hard day of work it seems. The cat faunus was humming as she was craving something that being some fish.

"So what do you guys say we go grab a bit to eat today?"jazmine asked as neo nodded in approval.

"Sure thing i wound't mind a bite to eat, if your paying"yumi replied

"Heh no you guy pay for yourselves, but kinda wish it was just me and swirl"jazmine said annoyed because she just wanted it to be her and neo for today.

Cardin chuckled"come on not our fault you said you were leaving the house and we ask if we could join."he reminded as the cat faunus did recall that.

"Ok your right but…i know a good sushi place here the owner loves me."jazmine said as she guided them to her favorite sushi place. After some walking they arrived at a stall as hard at work right now behind the counter was shane. He was taking customers orders as he served from cat faunus his main customers some sushi. But once jazmine and her group walked over he greeted them.

"Hey kid how yah been doing, come by for your usual?"shane asked as the four took their seats on the stools.

"Yep,can i get some nigirizushi please with some soy sauce"jazmine kindly asked as the others began to give him their orders. For yumi he ordered some sashimi since she had it before for neo she had a rainbow roll. For cardin he heisattated at first but ordered some tekkmai. After taking their orders and after a few minutes they served their food.

While they began to eat they began to begin some casually conversation that being where their friend was right now.

"So still no sign of your guys friend yet?yumi asked eating her sushi with some chopstick.

Cardin tried his failing"yeah haven't had any luck finding the guy again. Though that lead with who killed my dad was great"cardin replied

Neo nodded"i know, didn't you say the ship he was in had some clothes in their that belong to the knuckleduster?"she signed as jazmine translate for her.

Cardin sighed rubbing his arm as he tossed his sushi into his mouth giving up using the chopstick.

"Yeah, seems like those gangster killed my dad, my guess for a job. Kinda hate myself even more for what i did to faunus"cardin somebrly said but yumi just leaned against him

"Hey you realized your mistakes now your a faunus lover"yumi said with a cheeky grin as he smi

"Guess you two share that with our little duo here"jazmine said pointing to him and neo as the mute happily ate her food smiling.

"Your not wrong but uh you still gonna crash at place. Your sister looks upset you aren't home"cardin asked which made jazmine just look away rubbing her prothestic knee as she ate her sushi.

"I..i need time away from her, the only reason i'm staying is because i'm your guys side. "Jazmine replied

"Okay but what extactly do you mean by that?"yumi qeustioned as the panther faunus ate her food looking down.

"Because i owe swirl and her aunt for saving my butt from when the house got burnt down. I almost died when fighting those two fox faunus. And…i thought i'd like to return the favor. I thought you guys were all freinds back at beacon"jazmine said as cardin and neo both looked down at that.

They all were friends back at beacon but everysince the fall happened its affected them all differently. But they understand she just trying to keep her family and people safe.

"We all were, she just trying to keep you and everyone here safe. But they should have at least tried to help him. Even after seeing those dossiers and stuff tey haven't given a speech yet"Cardin replied

The four kept trying to enjoy themselves for a just a little bit but jazmine ears flicked around. Their were several conversations going on around them as some faunus talked about their day, what they'll do later and having casually converrsation. But one stuck out as she glanced toward three faunus.

The three faunus in question were heavily armed along with some just coming out of a weapons shop.

"So you guys ready to go hunting tonight?"a female faunus asked

A male bat faunus smirked cocking his rifle"yeah were gonna hunt that demon down tonight. If were lucky we can kill it"he replied

The third faunus smirked"your right, lets just hope we can extact our revenge on it tonight. Don't forgot were all meetin up with roland later"the faunus said as the three walked off but the panther faunus quickly figured out what they were hunting.

Jazmine stood up to the three confusion as she began walking away from the stall but not before paying for all their meals.

"Hey where are you going? Does the sushi here not agree with you or something?"yumi asked

Neo caught up to her as she pulled jazmine around to reveal her with a worried look as the girls ears were flopped over.

"I..i think we need to find the others now"jazmine stated with haste to their confusion why they needed to.

"Why do we need to do that? Heard most of them are at the training field for wolf ears and may rematch"cardin replied

Jazmine shook as neo wrapped an arm around her"i..i overheard some faunus saying their going to go hunting tonight with roland. Their going to try and kill your cousin again"jazmine said which made the three go wide eyed. Without arguing the four then took off toward the training field hoping to stop the hunt that will happen tonight.

But at the training field right now preparing for her rematch was onxyia as she was preparing for her rematch with may. The two sniper were both checking over their equipment as mostly everyone was their to watch their rematch.

"So you two are finally gonna have your little rematch now"declan asked as he looked at his daughter who was staring at equniox unsheathed.

She didn't really repsond as close by blake noitced this wondering if she was okay. The cat faunus walked over tapping her shoulder making her jump slihglty.

"Hey are you okay you seem a little distracted right now"blake asked concerned but the wolf just shook her head.

"I'm fine just a little nervous is all, but i can beat her just like last time"onxyia said in confidnce as close by the others were watching the match. Some of them being sun, kali, akasha, coco,velvet, katherine, nix, calida, yang,fenix,vance and nadia. They were all their as some were hoping one would win while the other would lose.

"So who do you thinks going to win this time? I saw their match back in vacou"fenix asked the group as he made a bet that the vacou girl would win.

"Hmm twenty on dec kid winning"nix said

"Oh i saw it on the broadcast back in argus, she did very well agains that zhong girl."calida added

Zoey scofffed slightly at that"i hope she loses, she kinda deserves it for what she called my brother"she said with malice as this made some of them look away from her.

"Come on she said she was sorry, can we all just be friends"yang begged because it kinda made her upset seeing everyone act like this.

"Yeah blondie right she already apolgize for calling the guy that"akasha added

Nadia just glared at her"She didn't apolgize to the right person i understand my kid broke your daughter heart. But she didn't need to call him that"nadia said as katherine sighed heavily at that.

"I know but lets just enjoy the rematch please. The past few days have been very trobuling okay"katherien suggested which the tiger faunus decided to let it slide for now. Soon enough the two snipers began to take to the center of the sparring field. Once their fenix pulled a whislte as he was the ref for their match today.

"Alright you two understand the rules first ones aura to reach the red loses. I want a clean and safe match, you two ready?"fenix asked as he recived a nod from may who cocked her sniper back primming it. While onxyia have a simply nod but had a slight upset expression on her face.

The lion faunus held his hand up as he eyed the two as may took a defensive stance as onxyia took an offensive stance. Soon enough he threw his hand down blowing the whistle.

Immdeialty the first to attack was may as she lifted her beanie up firing off a purple beam at the wolf faunus. Onxyia thought quickly realzied her attack as she dodged it quickly then she rushed foward with equinox in hand. She got close enough as she slashed at the girl side as it chipped at her aura slightly. But may quickly used her semblance to to disuade the wolf faunus.

Onxyia quickly realzied this as she held the sword with both hands looking around for a bit as may charge in from her right. She swung at it but it was a mirage as from behind may raised her axe slashing a bit of onxyia aura. It launched the wolf faunus back a bit but she quickly recovered grolwing slightly as she quickly decided to use her semblnace.

In an isntant she raised her right hand as shadow like hands started to grab at may but to their surprise they missed. Which was quite a shock to the desert sniper since she could immbolize her. But she took this opportunity to move in closer toward her as she swung her axe below her taking another bit of her aura away. Onxyia stumbled slightly as her aura reached the yellow while mays was still in the green. The others were susprised by this.

"Okay is it me or is she distracted, last time she moped the floor with her"coco stated

"Your right, plus since may been training more with close quarters combat. She gotten pretty good with her axe now"Sun replied since he recalled how often she trained back at vacou with it.

"She did pratice alot maybe shes…distracted by something"Velvet added

Blake nodded"yeah, but i'm just curious whats troubling her right now."she asked

Kali looked at the wolf faunus who managed to dodge one of may attack then finally dealt a big blow to may aura pushing hers to the yellow now. But she looked at the girl expression mainly seeing her upset which made her curious.

"Shes look upset, was your friend diego close to your daughter?"kali asked the blairs and nix who stood their for a moment.

"Umm well her and sombra were pretty close as kids. But she seems fine with him being gone"declan replied worried slightly.

Nix tail swayed"yeah, i don't know probably didn't get enough sleep last night maybe"nix suggested but katherine got what kali was implying guessing her duaghter was worried about her ex it seems. But she didn't bring it up to start conflict.

In the middle of their match onxyia grunted slightly as her aura got kncoked to the orange as did may. The wolf faunus was a little distracted as she knew she could beat her just like last time. But something felt off because last time it felt like she had someone she wanted to impress. As she dodged another strike from may she glanced to the others scanning for someone specific, she saw velvet her possible ex now but someone else too. But to her dismay they weren't their, that being zane.

Onxyia paused for a moment as the other sharpshooter decided to try and finish her off. May rushed foward as she riased her axe but the wolf ears flicked as she quickly changed equniox into a hunting pistol. She took aim firing off two shot directly impacting may as it knocked her aura in the red.

Fenix blew a whistle"and the winner of this little rematch is onxyia blair!"fenix cheered as did some others while some grumbled it seems. The wolf faunus walked over offering a hand to may as her beanie was slightly lifted.

"That was a pretty good match you did good out their"onxyia said as may took her hand helping her up. May dusted herself off sighing in slight disappointment.

"Guess you beat me again eh wolf ears, this proves who the better sharpshooter is"may said as the two walked to the sidelines as some congrualated the two.

"Hey come on she was quciker on the draw, even despite being so tall"nix replied

Declan smiled patting his daughter on the shoulder"you did great out their little cub i knew you could beat her like last time. "He congrgulated as onxyia smiled slihgtly sitting down on a crate looking at her reflection in equinox.

"Yeah i did…just um like last time"onxyia replied carrassing the blade with an upset look. Blake took noticed of this wondering if she was okay.

"Hey are you okay because you seem troubled?"blake asked but a lynx rolled his eyes.

"Sure start caring about her, not gonna even go see if my cousin alright. Jerks"vance muttered but loud enough for them to all hear.

Kali sighed"dear look we know your family is mad along with some of you that your cousin was ran out of town. But we've–"kali begun but then someone called out from the distance sprinitng over.

"Hey! We got a problem!"jazmine called out as they were surprised by the four arrival espeically blake who thought her little sister didn't want be near her for a while.

"Wait jaz…what are you doing here?"akasha asked as the four came over panting seeming to have ran all the way from the other side of the island.

Sun chuckled"she right what don't tell me we got another attack happening on the island"he joked as they had some bad news.

"Try…roland and his group going out…to hunt…grimm boy"cardin said panting as they looked at him as nadia went wide eyed in rage.

"That bastard is trying to kill my kid again!"nadia asked in rage as jazmine nodded finally catching her breath.

"He is we overheard some faunus who were armed to the teeth saying their planning on killing him tonight. We should probably go find him"jazmine stated with worrie as some of them sort of had the opposite idea.

Blake shook her head"i'm sure he'll be fine, if he can just stay hidden long enough for them to give up. He'll be fine"blake reassured

"Are you guys serious?"yang asked shocked hearing this because she never seen this side of blake before. She guessed she wanted to protect her little sister and family, but it was disheartening to see this.

"I'm not taking that risk with that leathery bastard killing my brother. He needs to come back to town. "Zoey demanded

"Why should we, i appericate him bringing back my friends bodie. But he too dangerous to bring back he could be tricking us"nix argued.

Coco smacked her face"seriosuly after even he bring your dead friend back, gives you dossier and possible hidding places where the whtie fang are. Also telling mr hayley to send those ships and weapons. You guys are all still thinking he out to kill you all"coco said

"Look i'm sure he'll be fine if he slept alright he can outrun them all night"declan said

This caused vance to start fidgett several times which confused them why he was doing that. Because he seemed very tense and nerovus right now as his ears kept twitching

"What the heck is up with you?"akasha asked as his little sister narrowed her gaze at him. The only time he does this is when hes hidding something.

"Your hiding something from us aren't you, the only time you do this is when your hiding something"neo signed as they all looked at the lynx for a moment as he finally gave in.

"Okay! I uh look i..i think he hasn't been sleeping that great latly. "vance said to their confusion but some already figured that out.

"What are you talking about?"blake questioned as the lynx just held his head as he decided to break his promise to his cousin.

"He…he can;t even sleep anymore, on our way here he told me how he had nightmares that keep him up at night. I don't know what their about…but he told me, hes too scared to even sleep anymore."he said visible shaking which worried some.

Onxyia looked a him worried as her tail drooped"umm how long has this been going on exactly?"she aksed hesitantly as the lynx sighed heavily.

"Probably everysince he woke up from that coma"he replied to their shock they've been going on that long. But they were all in shock right now but some didn't really believe him.

"How extactly would you know what their about, what if he was…"nix begun trying to argue but it was stopped immdeialty.

"He…he not lying"velvet spoke up hugging herself to their shock she knew about this

"You knew about this bun?"coco asked as she nodded to vance surrpsie she knew about this, he knew his cousin didn't want to burden her.

"Dear how exactly do you know about this exactly?"calida softly asked as velvet looked at vance for a moment.

"I..i over heard you guys talking that night on the way here. I heard something fall and guess something fell in the hold. But i overheard him telling you he can't sleep and how they don't stop."velvet said with an upset look.

"But why didn't he mention it to you directly?"akasha asked

"Because he didn't want to burden anyone further for being associated with him"she sadly answered

Nadia just covered her face shaking it"god dammit….okay…okay some of you are going out their to find him. I'm talking to sienna and ghira about letting him back into town"nadia said beginning to walk off.

"Got it, lets go the rest of you can wait here since you don't trust him"zoey said as her, cardin, vance, may were walking off but they were quickly stopped being joined by some others.

"Hold up, you all will need someone to help you track him down"declan opted to join in to their shock.

"While i go back to the house to set up a small infirmary. My guess is he might get hurt if they find him. Velvet dear come with me i'll call xander on the way to the house"katheirne said as the bunny faunus nodded following her smiling their seeing reason now

Yang smacked her fist together smiling"and i aint letting my fellow punmaker die, can't have the punmaking duo of beacon academy go away"she joked flexing her arm.

The four looked as blake sighed heavily"along with that we might as well take him back to the house. Maybe then…we could try and come up with an idea to make the faunus fear him left. Its the least we could do after helping save my family and providng intel on the grimm knights"blake said

Onxyia nodded"yeah i'm also just as good at tracking as my dad…and my leader needs help"she said but wanted to say something else it seems.

Kali nodded"same here, i've known roland for a long time and i could reason with him. I may be a housewife but i can still keep up with you all"kali said as nadia just looked at them for a moment before smiling slightly.

"Okay…thank you just please bring him back safe and sound. I..i can't lose him again"nadia begged as the search party nodded heading off to go look for him. While some of the others decided to prepare for their return and just prayed they find him before the hunting party does.

It was hours later as their was an orange haze in the sky as nothing was stirring at all. Though on a tree perched watching over some nare traps was zane. As of right now he was dying of boredom since hes been waiting for something to catch.

"Ughh come on can something show up i'm starving"zane said as if on cue his stomach rumbled

"Seriously i'd even dirt right now if we could"bane voice rang in his head

"Eh if we could i would but i need actually food, i'm out of the stuff eden gave"he replied to himself. Zane panted slightly as his bodie felt hot since yesterday, maybe the lack of food its getting to him. But it could also be something.

He decided to wait for his snares to catch anything for what seemed like hours. Until finally some rustling in some bushes as he slinked down waiting for it. Soon enough the movement of leafs and a small noise could be heard, he popped up smiling

"Finally i caught some…oh crap"Zane said looking to see a female faunus in his trap hanging upside down.

She kept swinging at the rope to free herself failing at it""Ughh hey help! Someone layed a trap out here!"she called out

Zane decided to release her from the trap, he shimmed down the tree then walked to where the snare trap lead. The faunus noticed him with a look of fear as she decided to yell out to her friends.

"Arghhh its the freak! Its going to eat me,someone help me!"she cried making zane slightly back up. Did the people who tried to hang him try to finish the deed like last time.

"I gotta run"zane quietly said but as he did stopping in place, then he looked at the women citation groaning internally what he had to do. He walked over to the tree taking his pivot blade cutting her down, then lowered her to the ground. This scared the faunus who brought her axe up trying slicing at the rope.

"Help…please..plese don't kill me"she cried failing to cut the rope as he walked over

"I'm not going to hurt you i'm.."zane begun but not before a loud gun shot went off. He went wide eyed seeing roland their with his group of faunus hunters. But he felt immnese pain in his side as he touched it pulling his hand up. He went wide eyed seeing blood as he looked at roland with fear.

"Their you are you dam freak time to avenge those we lost during the fall!"roland exclaimed as they cheered as they started to chase him. Zane wanted to fight but didn't wanna hurt anyone else. He quickly used her grappling hook as he climbed into the trees. He began to swing from tree to tree to escape them, then retreat to his camp.

As he kept running roland and his group kept chasing him down. The faunus wanted payback for the death of his daughter during the fall. They chased him down as some fired arrows at him with crossbows in hand. While some fired at him with their guns. This chase went on for a while it seems.

"Come back here you demon!" a faunus male shouted shooting at him

"Yeah take your punishment you beast!"another added

But he wasn't stopping as a couple bullets hit him but his aura took it. Thougt his side felt in pain from that gunshot wound he had, and he wasn't doing so hot.

"Go away! I don't mean any harm please leave me alone!"zane shouted back

"Should have thought about that before you helped kill my daughter!"he shotued in rage firign another bullet at him hitting him in the back. It made him stubmled as he fall into a branch hard then he tumbled down a few times. Zane tried to stand up but winced in pain slihglty.

"Gotta keep moving"he said to himslef as he picked himself up rushing to his campsite. But failed to noticed he dropped his scroll and the flashdrive connected to it.

The grimm hybrid kept sprinting through the woods for safety with the group hot on his trail. They kept shouting at him with death threats, calling him a freak and monster. But he tried to ignore it and hoped he can get to safety. He turned around a tree corner quickly turned the corner seeing his camp.

"Finally made it…but..but i don't feel so good"zane said to himself as he started slowing down. He took a few more steps as he held his side with blood trickling down to the ground. He soon fell down panting for air as he tried to support himself but was kicked hard in the side. He groaned looking up weakly to see roland and his group.

Rolan stepped forward planting a boot on his head""fianlly found the dam freak alright lets deal with it"he said as the other with them brought something with them. With the small lake nearby it was perfect punishment for him. That being a barrel they were planning on drowning the freak of nature.

Though not too far from where the campsite and hunting party was the group that came to search for him. It mainly consisted of the people who were at the training field. But akata joined them since neo texted her. They've search for hours unable to find him.

"Ok where is he, we've search hours for him"zoey said annoyed as she hanged her head. Akata patted her back to reassure her.

"Don't worry foxy we'll find him"akata reassured

May nodded holding her sniper out"i'm sure we will but, their were a few bobby traps out here"may stated gesturing to cardin who had mud all over his front with some specks on his face. Early they ran into a snare trap early that caught him.

Cardin grumbled slightly"don't remind me…i have mud in place mud shouldn't be"he replied

"Eh at least your a little cleaner now you got a nice mud bath"yang joked as some groaned at her pun

Declan laughed a little at that"You should have expected their to be traps out here, but those traps were impressive. I couldn't see them"he complimented

Vance chuckled slightly"my cousin proabbly layed them out…probably scared people might come and kill him again"Vance sadly said as onxyia frowned at that.

"Your not wrong but once we find him where will he go?"onxyia asked

"We'll take him back to the house, i still don't really trust him. But its better than a jail cell"blake answered as she wanted to lock him up. But guessed he might get hurt if they don't get to him on time.

"Are you sure thats wise? He could be dangerous, how do we know hes not tricking us?"declan ehsiantly said as vance clenahced his fist at that. But surprisingly his daughter voiced her objection.

"If he was dangerous he would have attacked at any given opportunity. I'm…sure he doens't mean harm, but maybe we should try calling his scroll again"onxyia suggested as zoey nodded.

She pulled her out as she tapped his caller Id then tapped the call button. she waited for it to ring for a bit until it answered, close by buzzing could be heard making them go wide eyed. They looked past some small trees and bushes.

"Over there"akata said as immediately zoey rushed past the bushes as they followed suit. The fox faunus smiled hoping to find him before those hunters did.

"Little brother are you over…here"zoey said as her eyes sank, the others soon caught up to her.

"Why'd you stop?"may questioned but they looked at zoey pointed to the ground. They all looked to see a scroll buzzing on the ground as a pool of blood was close to it. This could only mean something, they found him.

"Oh no…thats his scroll, that means they found him"cardin said worried

Kali tough noticed the pool of blood as she walked over kneeling next to it. She placed her hand on it seeing it was still liquid, very recent it seems. Since it hasn't solfied it must have been very recent and their was a trail. The women looked slightly down to see a small source of light.

"It seems he's injured, the blood here is recent. Theirs also a trail of blood going that way."kali relayed to them.

"If thats the case we need to hurry before they finish the job"vance advised beginning to walk though blake looked at the scroll seeing a flashdrive sticking out of it. She knelt down picking it up confused wondering where the drive came from.

"Alright, buts what this flashdrive in his scroll? Where did he get it?"blake asked as they began to follow the blood trail. Some of them looked at her presentnignt eh flashdrive but vance went wide eyed seeing it here. Which didn't go unnotice by blake.

"Huh that weird, where did he get a flashdrive?"yang questioned scratching her head

"She right, he did have those dossiers did he have more information on those knights?"declan added with a hint of district. But blake looked at vance who avoided her gaze.

"You know whats on this flashdrive don't you"blake asked as they kept following the blood trail. Vance crossed his arms looking away ahnging his head.

"I…i…i do…but you need to understand why he hide it"vance replied as they all just looked at him shocked and concerned right now.

"Why would he hide some stupid flashdrive?"akata questioned with a hand on her hip as her tail swayed.

"She right, if he has a flashdrive what does it have on it. Does it have files on the crimson talons operations or grimm knights?"onxyia asked as vance slightly flinched at the last part holding his arm tight. They all looked at him relzling that what was on this drive.

"Fish eater whats on the dam drive now"zoey demanded pointing at him as the lynx fiddled with his shrit for a second before he held his head.

"Okay…the drive contains video files on the experiments they did to the people their. Along with…what they did to him."vance said as they were surprised by this but may and cardin quickly figured out something. That the drive may have a video of the surgery he went through. Yang eyed them realizing they know about that grimm it seems.

Onxyia smiled a little as her tail wagged slightly"thats great, does it have evidence of him being under mental suggestion"she said slightly overjoyed it seems.

"She rights, if you have evidence to clear his name. Why did you and him hide it?"blake questioned as vance took a deep breath. He was about to answer until a bunch of cheers could be heard from the distance. They all looked to see a group of faunus in the distance surrounding something.

"We gotta move now, they found him"zoey ordered worried as they rushed over to the crowd of faunus hopefully to stop them from killing zane.

At the campsite was roland who was in front and center of his group of faunus followers they lifted a barrel setting it down next to him grunting. Though they quickly nailed the top of the barrel shut with its occuptant. Soon they secured it nice and tight so he couldn't escape.

"Now that we captured the dam freak we'll make it suffer for all those it helped kill all the loved one we lost. It's poetic that this lake is here it probably has maybe seven minutes before its aura fizzles out then three before it drowns. But in retrospective it'll have maybe six minutes before it drowns. Now lets avenge all those we lost because of this murderer"roland siad evily as the crowd cheered as he kicked the barrel into the lake as it began to sink in the water.

Just as this was happening the others had showed up the moment they kicked him into the lake.

"You bastards!"zoey shouted in rage as she lunged toward a faunus as she quickyl disptatched them. Another atacked her but she teleproted behind him in an instance then kicked their legs out beofre knocking them out. The others soon joined in the fray as may got atop a tree brnach perched.

The girl lifted up her beanie as she quickly took down three faunus with electric dust shot. Blake and klai bothed tag teamed a large bruly faunus. Blake fired her porthsetic hand forward as she quickly ran around him wrapping him up. While she did kali delivered a flurry of slashes at the man aura as he slowly wobbled. Though once blake went full circle she tug hard entrapping him as kali deliverer the final blow with an uppercut knocking him down.

With yang she flicked her wrist back launching herself into three faunus who tumbled to the ground. She quickly cocked her fist back delivering a devastating shotgun blast to one sending them flying into a rock as they groaned slumping over. Another tried to sneak up on her as she noticed them dodging them then cocked her fist back launching them back.

"Quit denying us our justice!"a faunus cried before slashing at declan but the man blocked it with his sword with ease. Then he quickly pulled the faunus forward before headbutting him to the ground.

"Your delivering justice by killing a child"declan retorted as another faunus quickly attacked him as he just smiled for a good brawl.

Akata blocked a strike with her gunbreaker as she pushed them back firing an eltric dust round from it stunning them. She quickly dodged one stirking at her as she jumped in the air kicking him.

With cardin he aimed him mace firing back at a couple faunus knocking them to the ground. But one tackled him to the ground hard as the faunus stood up ready to bash his head. Though from the side a grey blur came in dropkicking them into a tree hard.

Vance looked down offering a hand to cardin to took it nodding"thanks for the save fish boy"cardin thanked

"No problem but we gotta hurry we maybe got six minutes top before he drowns"vance reminded

With onxyia she rushed toward the lake to dive in to save zane but was met by a shotgun blast curistiy of roland. She spun her glaive as she deflected some his pellets back to him as his aura took it.

"Quit denying us our revenge that thing deserve to die for all those it killed!"roland shouted in rage as onxyia growled at him getting ready to fight him.

"He had no control he was under mental suggestion just leave him alone"onxyia replied as she rushed toad him delivierng a slash to his side. But he took it as their blades clashed for a moment though he kicked her hard in the gut as she gasped for air.

Then he pushed back as he pushed her back ready to blast her away but was met by another person attacking him. Zoey came in body checking him into a small rock but he quickly recovered. The fox faunus glanced at the wolf nodding as the two decided to deal with him quickly. Onxyia lifted her left hand as shadow like hands started to hold roland in place.

Roland though wasn't going to give up as he roared in rage as he kept trying to walk forward. Onxyia grunted slihglty as it was geting hard to hold him in place. Though from the side her father rushed in as roland got free but the two brutes clashed with each other. Onxyia was about to get involved but he stopped her

"Little cub go now! I got this leatherbound asshole!"declan shouted as roland pushed back but declan held his ground as the two were fighting for who could stand.

Onxyia took this moment to quickly sheathed her glaive before removing it along with equinox and then her jacket before taking a deep breath and ran toward the lake as she dived right in.

Once she was underwater she noticed that the lake was deeper at one part but could make out a barrel at the bottom which made her worried. She managed to swim down to as she shook it to get a response but their was nothing. This made her worried as she tried to lift it up but the water weighed it down. She quickly aimed her right hand as it glowed for a bit then she released a chi blast. Once it connected zane started to float up to the surface but wasn't moving.

Onxyia swam right next to him using her arm to pull him up as she began to tear the rope around his ankles and wrist as they were about to breach the surface. She took a breath of fresh air as she grabbed underneath zane arms but he felt light enough to take him to edge of the lake.

Though zoey rushed over pulling him out as she layed him on the ground but he large bruise on his face that was purple. Zoey put two fingers to his neck to check for a pulse but coudln't find one. The others were rounding up roland and the others as they tied them up.

"You should all be ashamed of yourselves for attacking a child"kali said disgusted

"A child?! That monster is no childs its a demon that deserves to die"a female faunus retorted as her ears straighten out.

"She right were just getting justice for our loved ones it killed!"a male faunus added but the other slowly gathered around the lake as some watched them.

"Hey is he okay?"vance questione worried as zoey had tears starting to form.

"He…he has no pulse"zoey replied worryingly as the other went wide eyed as Roland just smiled since he heard them.

"That great to hear, guess the dam adbomination is dead '' Roland said gleefully as he started to laugh a little as they glared at him.

"Shut up"akata warned as her tail thrashed in anger

"Oh no he needs CPR"onxyia said as she went to his side cupping her hand on top of each other to begin CPR.

"Come on don't you dare die again. Please respond"onxyia said as she finished chest compression as she opened zane mouth and placed her lips on his as she blew air into his mouth about three times before she continued chest compression.

"Please be okay, not again please not again"Zoey said worried as tears formed in her eyes. Akata just wrapped an arm around her trying to tell her everything will be alright.

The other looked at the sight worried as roland just kept laughing like a madman close by. yang glared at him as she walked over to the man grabbing him by the collar.

"Stop fucking laughing you psycho!"yang shouted in rage as he just smirked at her continuing to laugh. This made yang eyes change crimson red as she brought her fist back with a war cry. Then she socked him hard against his mouth as a crack could be heard as he slumped over.

Cardin looked at the sight praying he made it as Vance was starting to have tears form. May just sighed, closing her one eye at the sight. Declan looked at his daughter who had a worried look.

He placed a hand on her shoulder"little cub…it's too late just stop. Hes gone their nothing–"declan begun but she threw his hand off as she continued giving CPR

"Please…don't leave i'm sorry for calling you monster. I'm so sorry…you always treated me with kindness. I should have helped you. Please i..i..still love you please wake up"onxyia stated before she kept repeating the same actions as tears were starting to form in her eyes as the other watched.

"I need you to wake up. you…you…GODDAMN CLOWN!"onxyia shouted tears coming down her face.

Suddenly Zane gurgled up water that was in his lungs as he started coughing and hacking up whatever water he swallowed. The good thing was he was alive as they were overjoyed by this.

"Your okay…your okay"onxyia cried picking him up holding him

"Go away…i'm sorry…i didn't wanna kill anyone…please stop"zane weakly said as had shallow breaths

"Its okay…n-no one here to hurt you"she reassured but he kept struggling for air. Kali noticed blood dripping from his side.

"They shot him set him down we need to patch him up quickly."kali ordered as onxyia let him go at zoey decided to tear a piece of her shirt off. Then kali lifted him up as the fox faunus tied the makeshift bandage around his enough she was done but noticed how his chest barely rised which wasn't a good sign along with his bodie feeling cold.

"We need to hurry back to the house now, someone help me wrap him up to keep him warm. Someone call the others to call the search off and meet us back at the house"kali ordered as zoey rushed over grabbing a blanket as they layed him on it bundling him then carefully picked him up smiling with tears still present.

"You guys take him back to the house we'll pack up the campsite and wait for the other to take these guys to jail"cardin stated as they nodded as some of them rushed off with zane but not before vance grabbed his bag. They fully planned on putting roland and his group behind bar but hoped to save him on time.

It seems their all fianlly realizing their mistakes and decided to save zane in time before he drowned to death. But hes barely hanging on, and onxyia declared that she still loved him. Though eventually they'll need to reveal it. Thanks for reading!
