Chapter 84:Argus Limit Murder
Everything was very chaotic on the train right now as raven was rather annoyed right now. Because they need to get to havan and not get side tracked right now. Though all the passenger were wither in their seats or in their rooms.
"I can't believe we have to deal with this now"raven said annoyed as with her was neptune, oscar, eria, dravan, lazuli and bashira.
"I know right seriously its like trouble follows you guys everywhere"bashira replied as the group thought about that, it seems it does.
"Look the faster we solve this the quicker we are to getting to windpath"oscar replied
Soon they emerged into the lounge car that had some comfy chairs for the passenger to sit in. along with some fancy looking couches and even a few tvs broadcasting local news. Some people though crowded some taking pictures presumably a body with someone trying to dsipearse them.
"Everyone please separate now! We'll handle this in an odially fashion please"a male voice told. As raven stepped forward the crowd moved away mumruing a little as the group soon layed eyes upon a few people who stood out, four in total.
The first was a fair skinned tall man with a toned build in his late thrites who wore a grey wool sweater that had a tan harness on it carrying a pair of dual revolvers as it showed his toned chest. He had greyish black hair styled rohin style with brown eyes. He wore a pair of brown pants with a belt of a smoke cloud on it.
While another was a women who seemed to be in her late thirties with snow white skin along with navy blue hair with a slender figure to her. She wore a brown and tan dress that reaches her ankles wearing a pair of black dress shoes.
A third was a man in his early thriies with short messy black hair and light green eyes. He wears a white lab coat over a light raspberry colored shirt and brown pants. He also sported square rimmed glasses
Lastly it was a girl who was sixteen by her appearance as she had lapis lazuli colored hair that flowed with pink colored eyes. She wore a black long sleeve crop top to show off her stomach that had on a blue tanktop on underneath it. Along with that wearing a dark blue skirt that reaches her knees with some black stocking on underneath it.
Their was a crossbow strapped to her back in standboy mode with a hunting pistol on her hip. Though she had viltigo colored skin and crow like legs since she wore no shoe.
"Handle it right now! That dam girl was the one who killed my husband!"the women shouted trying to go for the faunus but the man pushed her back.
"I didn't kill your husband! Why would i even kill him your porbably blamming me becuase i'm a faunus"the girl retorted
"I don't care about that! The only one with a crossbow here is you and theirs a bolt in his back!"the women cried trying to go for her again. But then raven cleared her throat getting all their attention as the crowd separated slightly. Even the man holding the women was a little surprised.
"Now would you please explain to me what happened? Because you did request for any huntresses"raven said pulling out her ID revealing her huntresses license.
The man was completely shocked letting the women go"well i'll be dam, drav old buddy is that you?"he asked as dravan narrowed his gaze smiling walking over hugging the man.
"Merrick Smo! My old friend how have you been?"dravan said to the man known as merrick smo.
"Been better, pretty sure I heard you were dead. Though we'll talk later gotta solve this real quick"merrick replied
The women growled pointing at the faunus again"for the last time it was this brat! She the only one with a crossbow here"she said again. The girl was on the verge of tears shaking her head.
"I didn't kill him…i didn't…please you have to believe me"she cired in defnese as the crowd got ralled up slightly.
"Lies, your probably a white fang member thinking of blowing up the train with everyone on it"a female stated
"Yeah that bolt proves it was you that did it. Your obviously a killer"a male spoke up.
"We should just toss you to the tracks. Maybe a manticore will swoop you up for its next meal"another added as more people began to throw slurs directly at the girl. Raven had enough before whistling loud to get them all to shut up.
"Everyone leave now! This is official huntress business return to your room immeialty!"Raven demanded as the crowd began to clear out except for the four. As merrick sighed in relief sitting down on a nearby chair.
"Thank you for that rae. Seems you and your guest with you decided to join us for a murder mystery. Because we apperntly got a killer onboard the train here which caused an emergency stop."he said
The women scoffed"she right their for the last time, look at my husbands body"she cired again gesturing to said body.
Their on the flood lying dead was a man similiar to her age with very pale cold looking skin. Along with wearing a heliotrope dress suit making him stand out with light brown hair. But his eyes closed as dug into his back was a crossbow bolt.
"Look that may be similar to her weapon. But why extactly would she even kill him?"bashira questioned.
The doctor looked at them with skpetism"young lady the huntsman are talking, aren't you a little young to be one"he said
"Their huntsman and huntresses in training. Were chaperoning them on their way to windpath to visit some family"raven said quickly coming up with a lie.
"Yep though you gonna introduce yourself or something? Because i'm neptune vasilla"neptune greeted
"Barry wick. Sort of the doctor on this train ride"barry said politely.
The women scoffed"i'm Lucy Umber"she introduced with a scoff at the end.
"Hey kiddio introduce yourself, don't worry we'll clear this misunderstanding up"merrick said to the crow faunus who stepped forward nerovusly.
"Hello i'm lazu crowlery….nice to meet you"the girl introduced herself but that last name rang some bells in their heads. Mainly wondering if she was related to the gamma knight also aarne crowelry.
"Since were all qauinted now lets get down to business. For starters she claming that my trainee killed her husband. Which i find strange"merick replied
Lucy growled"she the only other person here probably with a crossbow! How else do you think it happened"she said stroming off through a door toward her room possible. While barry stepped up as he knelt down examining the body murmuring something to himself as dravan picked it up.
"Hmm seems the bolt punctures his lung, probably drowned in his blood"barry muttered
"Wanna tell us what you found doctor?"dravan asked as barry stood up dusting himself off, but then reached into the dead man pocket handing them a wallet.
"Well for starters we should identify him real quick, since his wife left"barry replied as eria opened it up and found an ID card.
"Micheal Umber. From atlas? Whats someone from atlas doing here their entire city on lock down"eria asked surprising them she was here a little.
"Not to be weird uh drav your niece is here. Didn't the new say she was kidnapped with the schnee heirness?"merrick asked peeking barry interest it seems.
"Oh i found her kidnappers since i stayed in the woods faking my death thinking i killed my other niece. Heading to windpath to find info on my other niece whereabouts hopefully"Dravan replied quickly as the man nodded at that.
"Alright though doc you figure out what might have killed the guy?"merrick asked as barry nodded
"I did with a quick exmainaiton. It seems the crossbow bolt punctured his back along with his right lung. Probably died from excesive blood loss but its rather strange."barry deduced.
"How is it strange extactly?"oscar asked
"A crossbow bolt wouldn't kill someone that quick. Their had to be other means involved with this, check over his body again"ozpin suggested in his head as oscar nodded at that.
"For starters no one dies that quick from blood loss. A puncutre lung maybe but not that could be treated if they got to him on time"eria replied
"True but maybe we should start getting testimonies along with examining the body further. "Raven suggested
Merrick nodded at that"alright sounds like a plan we could use the extra set of eyes and ears. "He asked
"Their are plenty of us to cover any ground. Though where were you when this happened?"lazuli questioned barry.
"Me i was in my room when i heard a loud scream. By the time i came out their was a crowd out i saw the crowd of people that had gathered with that women tossing the blame to the faunus girl here"barry replied
"Can anyone confirm you where in your room before it happened?"bashira asked
"My nurse actually. She can confirm i was in the room before it happened. I'm in room 10"barry replied
"Alright we'll head their later, move the body somewhere else to examine it further"raven ordered as they nodded as a couple train attendees moved the body somewhere else in the train. As they quickly returned to the rooms to notify the others.
After a short walk they returned to the five person room as the others were waiting for them with very confused looks on their faces. As mealnie was in the other room with a heavy blanket and hummifder to help her sleep.
"So you guys wanna tell us what happened? Because it sounded like chaos out their early"weiss asked
"Apperently we got a dead body on the train. A buddy of drav asked us to inveistgate possible suspects. A girl by the name of lazu crowely was suspected of the murderer"raven replied peeking their interest as lazuli quickly retrieved the notebook looking at gamma.
"We sure she aint related to the nevermore knight? Because says here she a crow faunus and havan huntresses."lazuli asked
"It could be possible but that isn't important right now. We need to come up with a plan to deal with this"adam reminded immediately because they may start looking through rooms soon.
"Agree at some point merrick will start looking in rooms with any other huntsman on board."dravan said
Oscar eyes slightly widden as ozpin told him something"uhh raven maybe you should stay in the room with the others"he announced to their confusion.
"Why if we have here out their it'll go by much quicker intimidating people"neptune asked
"No he has a point. With my current rep the culprit may avoid even coming near me. And if they come to the room i should be here to guard weiss and adam rather not have anyone become suspicious of them. The murderer might even come after them"raven explained
That did sound plausible with them if they find out a wanted terrorist and missing schnee heirness is on the train with them.
"True. so should we split up to search the train in groups to cover more ground?" milia asked as her tail gently swayed around.
"Good idea, where should we have everyone go to complete our task. Because we need to check the body over again. "Lazuli started trying to think of anything else because for starters she knows how to hide things and the criminal mind better than everyone here.
"Also gaining testimonies from the witnesses. That faunus girl and that nurse along with micheal wife lucy."lazuli added
Bashira shrugged her shoulder"i'll go talk to that nurse or whatever anyone wanna come with?"she asked
"I'll go because she might be a cute nurse"neptune said in a smooth voice making eria roll her eyes in the back of her head.
"Or a guy you know their are men nurses as well. "Bashira replied not even bothered by the joke it seems. She found it a little funny.
"Alright then me and uncle will go investigate and talk to lucy. Maybe get some answers from on her account. Then after tha talk to lazu to get hers. "Eria said
"Which leaves me and lazuli to examine the…body"oscar said not really liking how he has to examine a dead body right now.
Lazuli sighed slightly"let get this over with because we literally just left argus and now dealing with this crap. Once we get to windpath we find auntie then stock up on supplies their"lazuli said as they nodded in agreement heading their separate ways deeper into the train to solve this murder.
With bashira and neptune to talk to this nurse to gain her account. Eria and dravan talking to lucy and lazu to gain anymore insight on what happened with them. While lazuli and oscar went to examine a dead body. While the other held down the fort to try and not get caught by the investigators.
It was a rather long walked to where the body was placed as lazuli and oscar had to ask another huntresses abroad who was very spektically of the two. But she radioed merrick who confirmed they were helping them solve the current murder that took place.
The women guided them to a room that was closed as they opened it to reveal barry still examining the body right now. The doctor noticed the two.
"Oh its you two, let me guess you all split up to help us solve this little murder?"barry asked
"Yep though its seems your been pretty engrossed in the body."lazuli replied as he rubbed his neck.
"I am a doctor its my profession to work with bodies. But i haven't found anything new yet"barry replied. But some drawn oscar in as barry moved into the hallway waiting for the two to as he wanted to continue his examination.
Their on a table since the room looked like a medical area that had some cabinents along with a few cots to treat the patients. But it seems barry was the trains on sight doctor from the look of it. But oscar had a gut feeling as ozpin seemed to be guiding him right now.
Oscar quickly made sure no one was looking at he texted on his scroll showing it to lazuli.
"Early oz said that no one can die that quick from a pucnture lung. Along with the place being crowded something doesn't seem right"his text read as she nodded.
"Alright let see what were working with here?"lazuli said leaning over examining micheal body extenisvly. He still had very cold looking skin along with his eyes closed as a sigh of respect. But decided to take a closer look at his eyes as she grabbed some gloves to not remove any fingerprints on them.
Then she gently opened them to reveal something confusing that being his eyes completely being bloodshot. They were completely red like they were soaked completely in blood which confused her.
"Why are his eyes filled with blood thats weird?"lazuli stated
Oscar stepped forward examining it disgusted a little at even having to look at a dead body right now. But ozpin was in his head humming a little because they need to get to havan asap. Though quite frantically he was enjoying himself a little recalling one of his many lifes that being a detective. But he'll reminiscence about it later.
"Thats is a little strange. But that what normally happens when someone dies from blood loss"ozpin paused for a moment before noticing something.
"Oscar take a look at his lips"ozpin suggested confusing him but he decided to do it.
Oscar put some gloves on to provide some protection finding it strange how he went from farm boy to trying to find a murderer. But carefully he examined micheal lips seeing them to be blue, though as he examined for a bit noticed something.
That being his lips having a strange green substances on it staining part of his lip which was very strange. Because why would he even have that their in the first place.
"Hmm their seems to be some strange green liquid on his lips"oscar announced peeking barry interest immediately walking back in.
"What?"barry asked walking over examining their new discovery. The man looked at it for a moment going wide eyed at what he was seeing.
"Thats very strange…but it'll probably just some mixed drink from the lounge bar. He might have been a drinker"barry suggested
"Could be, though his eyes were also bloodshot which is normal for a dead body i guess"lazuli replied but something was bugging her a little. Because she been near several people that drink booze along with dabbling slightly in it herself. The only reason she did was a few times that being the vytal dance and the time in the woods. Along with one other time she doesn't really want to talk about.
"Maybe but he doesn't reek of booze. Probably a mixed drink or fruity drink. Though…"oscar said before as if on instinct he began to undo micheal shirt catching the two offguard.
"Young man its quite rude to disprect the dead"barry argued which brought some suspicious toward the man.
"Why shouldn't we strip the guy their might be more evidence on his body"lazuli replied making the doctor realzie his small mistake. Barry had a rather strained look sighing.
"Sorry…despite being a doctor…i really don't like dealing with dead bodies"barry admitted gagging a little at the sight. Then he walked over to a trashcan puking into it surprising the two a little. But oscar prosisted as he unbutton his shirt carefully to reveal his chest.
Once he did it revealed something stnrage several dark spider like veins that were very dark around his entire body. It showed his veins but they were slightly purple which was very strange. Near his neck especially since their was several in fact with some red marks their as well.
Lazuli raised an eyebrow"their are a bunch of purple veins here. Along with his neck having marks on it like someone was choking him"she pointed out catching barry attention as he fixed his glasses surprised.
"That is strange…hmm judging by the color of it and pattern. It could be black widow venom"barry decuded
"Black widow venom? But i don't see any bite marks on his body relating to a spider faunus"oscar replied confused because their were no bite marks at all.
Barry adjusted his glasses rubbing his chin"well if the bolt was coated in the venom that could be a possibilities. Which suggest the bolt."he said
"We may have to face facts that young girl might have killed him"he added
"No that wouldn't make sense because that stain on his lips. Along with that we need to gain the account of that crow faunus. Because what would she even gain from killing him if they have some sort of hisotry together"lazuli retorted because this was very strange.
"Your right about that, we'll head off to check up on the others. But were taking the bolt to examine it for any traces of this venom"oscar said picking up the bolt sealing it in a bag. As they were about to leave barry blocked the doorway stopping the two from leaving.
"I don't think so. How do i know you two aren't associated with the murder."barry said seeming very paranoid right now drawing a bit of suspicion toward the doctor right now.
"Look we aren't, seriously we boarded the train with raven branwhen. Kinda reason enough for us not really to be suspected"lazuli argued the facts as the man was about to argue till the huntresses came to the rescue.
"Let em through doc, seriously quit being so paranoid right now."she stated as he wanted to argue but relented letting the two pass. As they walked away he eyed them down as he began to look over the body again for a further with texting someone on his scroll it seems.
The two walked down the train far enough until they saw they were out of earshot of the room.
"Okay was it me or was that guy very weird?"lazuli asked
"Your not the only one even ozpin agrees he acted strange. Do you think he hiding something?"oscar asked
Lazuli cupped her chin thinking of that possibilite since he kept insisting it was some drink or that the bolt was coated in black widow venom from what he said. She eyed the bag nodding for a moment.
"Maybe we'll put him as a possible suspect. Lets head back to the room hoping the others had some luck"lazuli said as the two walked back to the room to come up with something.
Although across the train cars right now expploring the place in search of this nurses room was neptune and bashira. The two were a little side tracked for a bit exploring the train since it was a pretty nice and wide open train.
Before they boarded bashira did a bit of research since shes ridden the train here a few times. They added a few things that being those wide open bedroom suits which must be better than sitting in some chair for your trip. Along with that they have a dinning car along with lounge car.
Their was even a car that was tailored specifically for certain upper class passenger from the look of it. As they kept walking for a bit down the hall toward the room of the nurse that barry told them about.
The two were in an awkward silence for a bit as neptune decided to start some conversation on their current situation.
"So since we already started this little inveisgation. Who do you think did it?"neptune asked
Bashira thought about that for a moment tapping her chin"i really don't know. How that women acted she thinks it was that faunus but that wouldn't make sense"she replied catching his attention.
"What do you mean?neptune asked
"Well that train car was pretty crowded how could she even have drawn her weapon. Because juding how she acted she didn't do it"bashira replied
Neptune thought about that for a moment despite his antics he is smart at times. That faunus girl did act very stressed out along with being emotional even being accused of such a crime. But theirs still a posibilite she the culprit.
"You got a point their, but maybe talking this nurse will get us an aibli"neptune relied
Then soon eventually found room 10 as bashira stepped forward knocking on it a few good times.
"Coming!"a sweet voice said as footsteps could be heard coming toward the door but the two heard a yelp as the sound of something crashing could be heard which worried the two slightly. After waiting another minute the opened to reveal a women.
The women herself is around her late twenties with an hourglass like figure. With orange colored hair that reaches the middle of her back with a blue ribbon tying it together. Like the doctor from early she wears a white lab overcoat with a green shrit that shows little cleavage depsite her sizable bust and forming fitting jeans with simple white shoes. On her lab coat it had a name tag reading racheal Mazon
"Sorry about that. I can be such a klutx at times"the women said
"Its alright ma'am are you okay did you get hurt?"neptune asked concerned a little.
"No i'm fine just broke a picture frame is all, thank you for asking"the women replied
"Well maybe you should be more careful mrs. amazon"bashira said catching the women by surpise.
"How do you know my name….are you stalking me?"she sadi worigngly.
"No your name tag. You're still wearing it ma'am…we aren't stalking you"neptune pointed out. The women looked at her lab coat and noticed that the name tag was still on as she quickly took it off.
""I swear to remnant i though i removed that thing"racheal said before putting it in her pocket.
"So do you two need something?"she asked
"Actually yes. You heard about the murderer that happened earlier?"bashira asked as racheal nodded.
"How coudln't i? Were not that far from the car it was in since barry went go check on it before i could"she indeed which made neptune put a finger on his chin.
"Now why did he do that?"neptune muttered to himself before he decided to ask the question next.
"Before it happened notice anything fishy around the place or anyone acting strange?"neptune asked
Rachela thought for a moment before a thought crossed her midn"actually…now that you mention is their is something rather odd. I was walking back to the room with some drinks for me and barry from the lounge car. But i saw an older man carrying a cane in his hand in his early forties or fifties"racheal said confusing the two for a moment.
"Why would he be holding a cane in his hand?"neptune asked
"He should be using it to lean for support"bashira added
"Thats the thing. The cane was bent like something hit it or something"racheal replied
"Thats weird because the victim had a bolt in his back the doc didn't say anything about blunt trauma. Did you see where he headed off to?"bashira asked
"I believe he went to the bar car. Normally most of the upper class are their or someone wanting to get a drink."racheal answered
"Anything notiacbale so we can identify him?"neptune asked again
"Ah yes. He has silver hair and on the right side is a large scar on his cheek. Not really hard to miss"rahceal said
"How long ago was that exactly when you saw him last?"bashira asked
"About maybe a good ten minutes ago when i saw him last then i headed back here to my room"racheal replied
"Alright. If were lucky we'll head their to talk to him maybe we found an eyewitness maybe even"bashira said as the two left racheal by herself but once they were out of sight racheal smirked slightly before closing the door reading a text on her scroll.
Although on the opposite side of the train was dravan and eria heading toward the front of the train right now. Mainly to meet up with merrick and lazu since they really don't know where lucy room is. And they tried to talk to people but that was stopped for one reason.
That being the cold girl faunus uncle which found it rathering annoying how quick people are to hate faunus and blame them for anything, eria noticed his annoyed look.
"You good uncle? Because you seem rather troubled on how those people acted early?"eria asked
Dravan rubbed his shoulder since he was still getting used to the arm he got today. It still feels very foreign to him even having two arms again after so long of not having one.
"I'll be fine my frozen niece. Besides all these rich snobs on this train are a bunch of jerks"dravan growled
"You can say that again old man"a male voice spoke up as they looked infront of them who spoke up. Because they seemed to have finally reached the front of the train already despite not even realziing it.
Their infront of them was an older looking man in his mid fifties with light black hair with a hint of silver in his hair suggesint old age. On his face he had a pair of mutton chops along with a thick mustached combined together. Their was also him having a slight msucualr build with purple colored eyes.
His attire consisted of a white button down shirt with a black tie to match it. Along with wearing a blue jacket with a pair of blue dress pants with brown dress shoes with the soles being black. While atop his head was a conductor hat colored blue as well with a golden train emblazoned on the front of it. That being the train their on the argus limit.
Next to him was lazu and merrick who smiled at the two.
"Drav their you are. Guessing the rest of your posey is exploring and searching for clues?"merrick asked
"Yep me and my niece here were going to ask some question for the victims wife. But we didn't know where she was"dravan replied
The conductor tapped his chin"well we do have a list of passenger abroad our train. But allow me to introduce myself"he said taking off his cap bowing to the two.
"My name is kobe sils the argus limit train conductor for the past twenty three years"the codncutor itnroduced himself as kobe sils.
"Twenty three years. Not going to lie thats a little impressive you must hire good huntsman to protect your train from girmm attacks"eria replied as that thought crossed her mind they could get atttacked by grimm with all the panic going around on the ship from that murder that happened recently.
Kobe chuckled sighing"thank you for the compliment young lady. Though you have a point some people are rather quite rude to faunus aborad my train"he replied
Lazu was sitting down rubbing her arms staring only at the ground with a scared expression.
"Like i keep telling you i didn't do it. Please you have to believe me"lazu begged for what seemed like the tenth time
Merrick sighed kneeling down to get on her level"look i know kid. For starters were doing our best to figure this out. Just calm down."he said before turning to the two.
"I'm guessing your here to ask her a few questions?"merrick added as dravan nodded pulling up a chair to talk to the young girl. Because she seemed rather tense right now with whats happened, who woudln't be if you've been acussed of murdering someone.
"Alright first off could you tell me what exactly happened?"dravan slowly aksed
Lazu thought for a moment hesiaitng it seems because she rather nervous if they'll just throw her under the bus saying she the suspect. Eria noticed her pause sighing.
"Look we just want some question answered alright. Because for starters why was one of your bolts in his back"eria questioned earning a caw from the girl who stood up clenching her fist in rage.
"I didn't do it! Seriously that women kept accusing me of something i didn't do. Its not my fault the lights went off in the train car!"lazu shouted which caught their attention a little.
That the lights went off in the train car which confused them for a moment. Eria thought she could have done it with her enhanced sight but decided to play the long game with the girl deciding to test her on what extactly happened in the train car.
"Okay what exactly do you mean by that? And also why were you in the lounge car exactly?"eria questioned again
Lazu thought for a moment sitting down trying to recall the best of her ability rubbing her head until it came to her.
"Well me and were hired to help protect the train for any oncoming grimm. Alot of huntsman and huntresses are here since their been sighting of those thirteen knights of grimm. Apparently four of them are dead which makes things a little safer"lazu begun as eria flinched slightly at that because one of them isn;t
Along with that if this girl was related to aarne crowrly one of her relatives would be dead which she rather not tell.
"Alright but why were you in the train car and how many huntsman do we have on board?"dravan questioned
Merrick thought for a moment snapping his figner"including me and the kid it makes about six excluding your group. Though early i told her she could go grab something to eat and take a break for a half hour"he replied
"He right i went to the lounge car to relax since some faunus are their. The bar car well…they really don't like faunus"lazu said upset as she scrapped her claws against the bottom of the car.
Eria was wondering what happened next"what about when you got to the car you said the power went out? How could that even happen"she asked
"Oh i can explain that"kobe said gesturing to something.
They watched as he stepped toward a wall that had a small control panel on it. Producing a key he twisted it unlocking the control panel to reveal circuits and a dust capusale in it. Though their was a few switches inside the control panel but one caught eria attention.
"Hold on this swtich right here says it control the lights"eria said pointing to a switch labeled under"light control switch.
"Thats perscily right, usually when we have to shut the train down for a bit for storage each car has a switch on them that control it. Although…"kobe paused before glancing toward the young faunus girl.
"The only ones who has access to these things are me and a few of my crewmebers. And merrick has the only other copy"he added
"Which i still have"merrick said reaching into his pocket pulling out said key.
Eria cupped her chin for a moment"thats strange, could you recall what happened when the lights went out?"she asked as lazu tried to rack her brain around it rubbing it for a moment as eria noticed something. A rather large bump on the side of her head.
"Not really i just walked around for a bit grabbing a drink but then the lights went out. After that i felt something hit me in the back of head and next thing i know i wake up in a chair. Being told i killed someone"lazu said
"Did you hear anything? Or see anything in the dark at all?"dravan qeustioned
Lazu thought for a moment shaking her head"no not really. All i remember is the light going off and someone sneaking up behind me."she replied as eria ponder what they just heard for a moment. It sound like someone attacked her from behind.
"Thats strange, we'll probably head back to the lounge car to do some more investigating. Care to join us?"eria asked as the two huntsman nodded joining the two on their way back. While kobe got to work manning the train for now keeping it on standby. Hoping that this panic won't cause grimm to attack it.
Meanwhile neptune and bashira soon found a part of the train car and to their surprise it smelled rather different to the other train cars. Because it had actually aircondtioing and heating as well. The walls of the car were lined with dark red wallpaper and gold leaf decor all over it.
Their were a few people in the area but their were tables for people to enjoy their drinks. Along with a bar that already had the bartender hard at work providing amber liquids to the passengers of the train. Along with that having a wooden counter with stool on it.
"So who the heck are we looking for exactly because alot of people aint ringing a bell?"neptune asked
"Don't know lets just ask someone if they seen him."bashira replied
With no other option they found the nearest person that being a women who turned to them.
"Can i help you two with something?"she asked
"Yes actually. Were looking for someone a guy with a scar on the right side of his face with silver hair"bahiras asked
"Ah yes…that would be tom. He right over their by the counter right now actually"she siad pointing toward the bar.
At the bar counter was an gentlemen in his early forties with a slight muscular build. He has short silver hair with light blue eyes. Currently wearing a black tuxedo with a pink tie and brown dress shoes. Underneath on his right cheek was a large scar that ran vertical on it. Along with a cane on his lap and a glass of whiskey in his hands. But neptune noticed the distinct dent in his cane on the end of it.
"Thank you ma'am"neptune thanked as the two walked over to tom.
Tom was downing another drink before noticing the two approaching"Can i help you two?"he asked
"Are you tom perchance?"bashira replied
He took a sip of his whiskey before he answered"yep. Tom Birch. What is it that i can help you two with."tom asked
"Better be careful. Don't know how much this guy had to drink"neptune quickly whispered to her then turned to him.
"Actually yeah wondering if you could help us. You heard about the murder in the lounge car. asked if we could help him with finding the culprit"nepune asked
Tom took another sip of his whiskey rubbing his eyes"and what make you think i was involved?"he asked
"Well someone saw you around the area at the time ten minutes after the murder already happened"bashira said
"Murder? What are you talking about?"tom replied
"I'm talking about your cane. It looks pretty bent and dented. Did you hit it on something?"neptune asked
Tom rubbed his head for a moment"Actually i don't know. After i boarded the train headed to my room dropping my luggage off. But i had a couple drinks before i got on and i was suppose to meet with a friend of mine. Though i misplaced my cane it seems as i tired to find it, until eventually finding it near the lounge car entrance near the passengers rooms. It was bent a little though i came here to wait for my friend micheal umber"he replied catching the two interest.
"Wait you mean–"bashira was stopped as the light suddenly went off as the passenger in the car panicked slightly. Though soon the sound of several crashes could be heard which confused them trying to find out what happened. Along with a loud thud, then soon they came back on.
"Alright that was weird, now…"neptune was stop midsentence seeing what layed before him. That being tom lifeless body as his neck had blood gushing from the wound that stained the carpet below him. A women let out a shrill scream from the sight as all of them were caught offguard.
Though bashira head the door open behind them glancing behind seeing something strange. That being lazu running away from them which made her wonder if she actually did kill him. But from the opposite end eria and her group arrived.
"What happened we heard screaming?"Dravan asked rushing in with infinity out at the ready. Merrick quickly noticed tom body on the ground sighing.
"God dammit…alright we got another body here. Someone grab barry because it seems our killers on the loose"merrick said but bashira was very confused right now seeing lazu with them.
"Wait..i..i…how are you even here?"bashira said pointing at her.
"What are you talking about bash?"neptune asked as the team leader of BBNT just figured out the key to this murder mystery.
"I just saw someone that looked extactly like you run off in that direction of the train cars"bashira stated catching them all by surprise. Which means that their killer was someone who could change their appearance they needed to make sure no one disturbs this body then all of them regroup together to discuss this.
It seems that the murderer on this train ride can change faces or apperances. It'll be tricky since they need to be careful of who is who? Nicole, Merrick, Kobe, Lucy, Racheal, Barry, lazu and micheal and tom are my own oc's. Thanks for reading!
