Chapter 89:Medical checkup and Murder Mystery
It was a quiet night on the island as barely any light illuminated the town with all the shops closed for business. But right now not even a mouse faunus stirred awake right now. But right now wandering the streets of menagerie were two faunus enjoying a night out on the town. The broken moon slightly illuminated the streets but walking them right now was a shark and butterfly faunus. The shark faunus had an arm wrapped around her holding her close.
The shakr faunus wore some simple blue jeans with a light blue t-shirt, he seemed eighteen years old. Along with his faunus traits being a pair of fins on his arms. While the butterfly faunus wore a simple orange and black skirt with white dots around it, along with a red sweater. She seemed close to his age as she had a pair of antennes on her head.
"Man its sure it beautiful out here tonight my little bug"he said as the girl giggled leaning into him.
"It sure is luka, but did you hear what happened at seths parents store?"she asked the shark faunus known as luka fins who rolled his eyes.
"You mean that freak with dual traits ughh not now tammy. Lets enjoy ourselves"luka replied to tammy monarch who just rolled her eyes.
"Hey sorry but you know him, why do we even hang out with him"tammy replied
"Because we have known each since we were kids?"he asked as the girl thought for a moment then nodded. They continued their stroll unknown to them a few people where following them not even making a sound stethliy following the two planning to do something to them it seems. A cold wind blew through making tammy shiver slightly as she leaned closer to luka.
"Although you hear that grimm knight is back in town"she said to his disgust and anger.
"Seriously i thought him and his crew where gonna gut him since mitch helped supply them those weapons. Isn't he his nephew or whatever?"luka asked as she nodded
"I know right, but lets hope the chief will be smart and gu–"before she could finish her sentence someone lunged at her from behind tearing her away from his arms. To luka shock a man stood ontop of her as shse struggle underneath the man. Before he knew it he produced armblades as he stabbed the girl in the back several times as her screamed were muffled as her face was buried into the dirt.
Luka stood their in fear for his life taking several rapids breath as he saw the man undo a maw like mandible. Then to his horror he dug into her face tearing it off then he swallowed it. He looked back at him grinning with blood on his mouth as luka did just one thing. The shark faunus turned to run for his life but stoped as he went wide eyed.
Their was a pain in his throat as he slowly looked to see a knife lodged into his throat, he slowly looked up seeing sangie their smiling. The women dugg the blade for a bit before tearing it from his throat as he clutched it to stop the blood. He fell down gurgling on his blood as she knelt down over him.
"Greeting your here to deliver a message to your chieftain tonight. Thanks for the help"sangie said mockingly as luka just slowly lost his vision as he closed his eyes dying. Yohi looked at her wiping the blood from his mouth as he took some blood from luka throat. Then he began to smear the wall in something as sangie decided to prop the bodies up. After a few minutes the two soon finished leaving their message as they vanished into the night without a trace.
It was a bright new morning over the island of the faunus right now as the sun shined bright over them. But right now in a certain room of the belladonna household was interesting. Because the first to slowly stirr awake was nadia was opened her eyes as she yawned stretching her arms until an audible pop could be heard. Then she stood up cracking her back from her uncofmrotable sleeping position last night.
"Dam my back is going to have problem for the rest of my life"nadia groggiyl said as someone decided to speak up to her surprise.
"Well you did sleep in a chair my dear, but morning"kali voice said as nadia looked over to see her in the doorway with some clothes. Along with aruna close by giggling quietly with katherine and calida next to her. The hayley women was just shaking her head smiling.
"Yes though what time is it right now?"nadia asked rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"For starters we're having breakfast right now but its around nine am right now. "Calida replied but aruna kept quietly laughing to herself pointing toward something which she noticed.
The tiger faunus glanced toward one bed seeing blake clinging to yang for safety it seems as she layed her head on the blonde chest. While yang layed on her back with an arm wrapped around piper who was sprawled out everywhere.
"Awww that looks so cute"nadia cooed as katherine just chuckled at that glancing at another bed. She looked at the other bed to see her daughter holding her boyfriend and girlfriend in a loving embrace, but both were particularly engulfed by her as his head was shoved into her bust, with her tail wrapped around the two.
"Oh thats not all seems these three got a little close after last night"katherine said smirking which made nadia share a teasing look with. Aruna just took pictures of both beds.
"Man whats with this girl and hugging people?"she asked looking at her aunt who shrugged her shoulder.
"Don't ask me i don't know where she gets it from, probably something she likes to do"she replied as calida decided to wake them up gently nudging them awake as kali did the same with her daughter.
Yang groggily opened her eyes still holding blake in her arms who slowly woke up as piper woke up immediately. Her hair was all puffed up as she yanwed smacking her lips.
"Whats for breakfast?"she innocently asked as she hoped out of bed rubbing her tired eyes. Yang soon woke up holding blake close then eyed kali for a moment.
"Uhh what are you staring at? You jealous i'm doing this to the faunus princess"yang joked making kali laugh a little as blake eyes shot open as she got of bed quickly blushing bright red
"I..um..uh..we did nothing last night"blake quickly said embarrassed but kali just rolled her eyes.
Onxyia woke up yawning as she stretched her ears out still holding zane as he was slowly stirring awake. As velvet eyes fluttered slightly holding him from onxyia saw the others turning cherry red as her tail swifted under her sheets.
"You saw us cuddling, someone please kill me before i'm teased more"onxyia said compelty embarrassed
"Oh my god…great where going to be teased forever now"velvet whined completely embrassaed
"Aww buts it cute, it seemed to help your little boyfriend sleep it seems"katherine cooed because she noticed something, his bags under his eyes were starting to go away.
"Though did you three do the nasty or what?"aruna bluntly asked making the wolf and rabbit faunus blush even brighter glaring at her for suggesting that. They for a fact didn't.
"No! Seriously you and her have dirty minds"velvet said pointing to yang who waved as she stood up stretching to limber up for the morning. Soon zane finally woke up groaning slightly opening his blue eyes, it felt like he was laying on a pillows.
"Ughh if I woke up in another hospital i'm blow it up, ''he said laziily.
"Not in my house, there are too many of you now and we all can't live in other peoples houses"Kali said, making him go wide-eyed, then looking at his current situation.
The three undid their embrace but as they did he felt a bolt of pain in his chest hissing slightly.
"Hey you good over their or did she break your back from cuddling"yang joked but received a look from blake because now wasn't the time.
He sat up holding his chest"its..nothing my chest just hurts..i'll be fine"he meekly said as katherine walked over carefully moving his shirt up to reveal a bruise on his chest. Their was a small rash from it but also it being a dark shade of purple.
Aruna cringed seeing that"that looks pretty painful its like someone hit you with a rock"she said the obvious again.
Calida flicked the girl on the head as she rubbed it"we can see that dear, how bad is it kath?"she asked. Katheirne felt around the bruise gently but he flinhced in pain, but she felt something broken around their.
"Hmm he did break a rib during CPR which is common, your aura already healed those other bruises up. But we'll head to the clinic for some medicine and get that MRI done today. Also some medicine to speed the healing process up"katherine said as he gently put his shirt down.
Onxyia tapped her knees for a moment deciding to ask him something"so..um how did you sleep last night?"she asked embarrassed
"Yeah because i'm sure sleeping in an actually bed is better than the ground."velvet added as he looked away trying to hide his blush.
"I..um slept fine…thank to you"he said which made them smile happy to hear that. But the other we're gonna tease them but they had enough for now. But soon they had a problem, mainly being that they needed to take a shower to clean up.
"Although we got a problem, for starters their four girls that need to take a shower and.."yang begun as she recalled a certain rule a team made. Calida got clued in glancing at zane who frowned at them.
"I'm not a peeping tom, just please get changed in their kinda hurt to move"he replied recalling how he had to do that everyday at beacon. They didn't argue as blake was the first to clean up, then it was yang, next was velvet,and finally onxyia who came out feeling refreshed as her tail and ears were puffed up slightly. Soon it was zane turn but he realized something he had no clean clothes.
"Welp your up grimm boy, because for starters you need a shower."yang said because he smelled pretty bad.
He rubbed his neck for a bit"i..i kinda do…but i really don't have any clean clothes"he replied as if on cue kali walked over handing him his clothes. Without arguing he walked into the shower as he locked the door then stripped off his clothes. He needed a shower right now after being in the woods, he quickly turned it on getting it the right temperature. But he slightly flinched from the water but he got used to it sighing in relief.
Then he grabbed some shampoo beginning to scrub his hair out from all the grim and dirt from the last few days. It felt relieving to finally have a decent shower as he got it nice and sopay, until finally washing it off. Then he began to scrub his bodie down with some soap for a bit as he made sure to get everypart of his bodie. But today he felt refresh not from the shower but from actually having one decent night of sleep it seems. After about ten minutes he finished rubbing off all the dirt as his skin felt clean. He patted himself down dry for a bit until a few hisses could be heard that sound satisfied.
"That felt so nice, that 's what a warm shower feels like,"Bane said in his head.
As he patted himself dry he winced slightly when he touched his chest"it does better than the dumb lake i guess"he thought to himself to talk to the bug. It hissed it glee again.
"Yes, and i'm sure you feel refreshed after you and your girl rekindling your twos love"bane cooed to his embarrassment that a grimm is teasing him. But he ignored him as he slipped his pants on and socks but stared at himself in the mirror for a bit. His eyes had heavy bags under them but he felt okay. He decided to wash his face as he turned the faucet on as he splashed some cold water on his face.
But after a few times doing this he soon grabbed a towel to wipe his face down and noticed the white towel turning a dark red color. Immediately he got scared looking to see blood on his hands as he began to panic a little. Then he slowly looked up in the mirror going wide eyed seeing himself in his slasher form with blood on the blade. He began to freak out trying to scrub the blood off but it was still there.
"No…no…i gotta get blood off. GET IT OFF!"he shouted complety terrified as he backed up into the wall sliding down whimpering. He didn't noticed several bangs coming from the door as he balled up shutting his eyes tight shaking.
"Get the blood off…get it off"he queitly cried but as he sat their soon he was brought back to reality. He opened his eyes as onxyia was hugging him tight with a look of shock right now as the others stared at him half dressed crying on the floor.
"Your okay, just relax and take some deep breaths alright"she softly said as he slowly composed himself shaking. But katherine just glanced at them with some worry as she doesn't see any cuts or anything on him.
Nadia checked him over seeing no blood"sweetie there's no blood, are you doing okay right now?"she asked as he just nodded looking away.
"Are you sure your alright? Because are you sure your not seeing thing"velvet asked concerned as he nodded again
Kali looked at all them decided to do something"why don't you all go grab something to eat, we'll try to calm your friend down"she said as onxyia was hesitated to leave but relented. They left kali and nadia to check him over as they left the room. But this just worried them, because this problem just got alot worse it seems. Once downstairs their was already some people finsihing up eating breakfast engaging in some casually conversation.
"So today i was thinking of going on a walk today on a beach. Anyone wanna come?"jazmine asked finishing up her breakfast as neo was next to thinking for a moment before nodding yes because she was all for it.
Sienna was bottle feeding sorrel as she nodded"it sounds nice, were working on the speech later before dinner tonight"she replied
"That nice i'll probably join i haven't explored this place at all. "Verona replied
"True, but we have a pretty soldier foundation with the speech we have right now"declan replied drinking a cup of coffee. Zoey noticed the group coming down.
"Their you all are, we thought you guys were teasing the heck out of the two lovebirds"zoey teased but they didn't look embarrassed but troubled instead. Onxyia sat down looking at her breakfast, beginning to stroke her tail hard, threatening to pull it off. With velvet holding her ears for dear life rubbing them.
Yang looked forward with worry as blake rubbed her metal arm, while calida sat near verona contemplating something. Ghira noticed the groups troubles as he decided to ask them whats bothering them.
"Are you all alright, because you all seem very troubled right now?"ghira asked placing his hands on the table as this got all their attention.
Yang messed with her food a little"umm well you can kinda say that"she replied
Jazmine chuckled"what did mom tease you two pretty bad along with doing the same to bunny ears and rs and wolf ears"she said gessturing to onxyia who seemed worried as her father seen this before.
"Little cub did something happen upstairs, you only stroke your tail when your nervous or worried about something"he calmly said as the girl relaized it, releasing her hold and hugging herself.
"Um..i..well upstairs we kinda ran into a problem"she said scared which caught them off guard how her tone sounded.
"What kind of problem? Don't tell me the kids to scared to leave the room now"colt said taking a sip of his coffee.
"Try him screaming for the blood to get off, when their wasn't even any blood their"blake replied which made him spit his drink into his cup. Neo was surprised by this as the mute began to worry slightly. While ghira just closed his eyes pondering that.
"Are you serious? So your telling us the kid crazy now"verona said but that wasn't the case.
"No, that shouldn't be the case for starters his brain might be damaged from that near drowning. But lack of sleep can cause hallucinations to occur. Its just his mind playing tricks on him"katherine reassured them slightly .But blake quickly noticed a few others here that joined them for breakfast that being cardin, sun, emerald, coco and sombra.
"Seriously? That can happen if you don't get enough sleep"sombra asked surprised
"It can, though i'm guessing what he saw was him with that giant blade form of his"calida concluded which made sense.
"Eh maybe but his mom and kitty mom are claming him down right now"yang replied beginning to eat her breakfast.
Katherine nodded"yes, but a couple days rest and some exercise will do him some good. "She stated as verona cupped her chin recalling something.
"True, but back in the tribe i know a drink that can help people with nightmares. I can make it later"verona added which relieved them it could help.
"Yes though dear why don't you head off to the clinic and we'll meet you their to perfomr the MRI."katherine said to velvet who quickly ate and got up leaving as they began to eat breakfast calida just sighed looking down eating her food.
"Beside that i hope my frosty daughter is okay traveling to havan right now"calida said which caught some of their interest. Cardin and coco along with colt,neo, zoey gave her a weird look, her daughter was kidnapped last they heard.
"Umm did the authorities rescue eira from her kidnappers or something?"coco questioned confused
"She right what did the two ice queens of beacon finally get rescued or something"cardin added as the other just recalled something they didn't tell them. That their entire kidnapping was faked.
"Oh right, uhh weiss and her actually faked the kidnapping"emerald stated to the other shock their kidnapping was faked.
"Hold up, how would you guys know about this?"neo signed confused
"Hey yeah i didn't even know about this what gives?"jazmine asked looking at them as they decided to quickly explain it too them. How they faked weiss kidnapping to get her away from her home life since her father wasn't letting her leave. But they left the part out of her scars from the ones who knew.
"So she faked her kidnapping to try and head to havan to find you two and ruby?"neo signed as yang nodded
"She did, last i saw she was with mom, eira, dravan, adam and lazuli heading to windpath for support from the spidergang"yang replied eating her breakfast.
"Great anymore bombshells you got on us, because we;ve gotten alot lately"zoey replied sarscatilly as emerald shrugged her shoulder announcing something.
"Oh uh weiss is also a faunus now"emerald casually said just making alot of them look at her weird. Because for one she was a human and also a schnee.
Coco chuckled pushing her shades down"bullcrap, last i saw that girl had no tail or ears"she knowingly said
Cardin laughed crossing his arms"yeah no way the ice queen is a fau.."before he finished emerald showed him and the others who didn't know. He went wide eyed seeing weiss annoyed while yang was pointing to the heiress now arctic wolf tail. His jaw dropped as zoey was surprised seeing the schnee heiress being part faunus now.
"Whoa how the heck did that happen…is that an accessory or something?"she questioned
Verona shook her head"nope, the kid was scouting some cave out with that boyfriend or hers. She falls in find some weird rock with runes, then she sprouts a tail. "She said
Summer was their cupping her chin deep in thought recalling something"your talking about the faunus heart"she said
"Whats the faunus heart?"jazmine asked
"From what i recalls theirs a story of a man who removed a heart from a living faunus that killed them. Their lover angered cursed the man to become a faunus himself. It was by magic or some other source itself. But if a drop of blood spills on it the human will become a faunus only if their fully human."summer explained as they glanced each other surprised by this.
But they cotninued eating breakfast for a bit until several loud knocks could be heard. Zoey went to open the door but when she did someone rushed past her.
"Where in the name of remnant is that dam abomiantion?!"lisa demanded to know as her ears straighten out. Piper flinched clinging to jazmine for comfort, but on the stairs zane finally clamed down walking downstairs as lisa glared at him. She walked over slapping him across the face startling him to fall to the ground backing up scared.
"hey!"Cardin shouted as they rushed over as nadia just held her son close glaring at the women.
"You miserable little bastard! I knew you being here would be nothing but trouble. You need to kill this thing now!"lisa shouted demandily but they formed a protective wall from her as onxyia just rushed over comforting him.
" that is no way to barg into our home. We've told you before he means no harm"ghira stated as some guards were behind her.
"Yes, and for starters hit my kid again and i'll break your legs"nadia grolwed in rage as the women rolled her eyes.
"I don't need to be nice to that thing. Two people are dead because him being here now"lisa spat which got their attention as close behind her was saber with some guards. Ghira faced him along with zoey by his side.
"Sir we have a new issue on the island, this morning a couple bodies were found morning. One of them was stabbed in the throat and the other…well.."saber paused with a disgusted look.
"Let's guess their bodie was pretty messed up?"sun asked as he nodded
"Their was also a message left for him, my guess that talon soldier that was spoted during the attack is still here. Along with that assasin miss. Rose ran into"saber said as they had to think about this but lisa had a suggestion on the matter.
"If they just want him just hand him over, hell hand over that uras over there. Then we're all safe"lisa said to their shock, especially her daughters as Piper clung to jazmine for safety as she glared at the women.
"We are not giving a child to those slavers or him, i suggest you leave"calida said as her hand glowed red hot in disgust hearing how quick she was to meet their demands. Before she said more the guards escorted her away as she screamed at them but they sat in silence as declan sighed.
"Look LT just worried about her family and the people here. You all go check the crime scene and take him for a checkup. Me, fen and nix will go talk her down"he said as he walked away as sombra was about to join him but he told her not to. They all quickly geared up with some stuff they brought as they walked toward the crimescene. Summer stayed at the house to guard piper and miyuki who stayed their along with neo and jazmine.
But a small drone watched them leave the house following them to the crimscene. They started their walk to the crimescene but some guard loyal under zoey formed a formation to guard zane just incase. Along the way several faunus kept glaring at them along with making some comment directs toward him.
"So what exactly was this message that was left?"blake questioned as saber just shivered at the thought of it which made them worried.
"You'll see it when you get their, just a head up the girl bodie aint pretty at all. "He warned because they all just had breakfast.
"Great now you tell us after we just had breakfast, if i puke i blame you"emerald said pointing toward him
Coco had her bag in hand as it moved around"and if any of you puke on my designer shoes your dead"she warned them not to spill their guts on her shoes. Yang noticed all the dirty looked they kept getting as she rolled her eyes.
"Can these guys stop glaring at us, seriously its like they wanna kill someone"she said but then looked at zane who had his hood up looking down.
"That because they do blondie, but…"cardin said patting zane on the shoulder making him flinch.
"We aint gonna let them hang you man, rather not lose the guy who just came back from the dead three times now"cardin joked as it made him smile slightly but he looked away from him in shame. Onxyia noticed his trouble look as she just leaned against him.
"Don't worry they won't hurt you, if they come near my man i'll blast them away"she said making him blush as her tail wagged around. It was reassuring but also gave them more ammo to tease her. Sombra chuckled grinning.
"What next you gonna two gonna start making out right now"she teased making the girl blush as she shoved her away.
"Quit your teasing already, do it later we got a job to do"calida said in a serious tone as she had her weapon with her. Soon they got to a crossroads as they split off as zane, onxyia, zoey, aruna,coco and nadia walked off toward the clinic with some guards. The others soon arrived at the crime scene.
The investiagotrs were wrapping things up as the two bodies were already covered but they were quickly noticed something. That being the nearby wall painted with crimson red blood leaving a message. The message read"return our property or your island suffers"it read with the symbol of omega painted and the number thirteen on it. Two white tarps were over some bodies.
They weren't done yet as some investigators were talking with two people that being may and yumi. Cardin was suspried she was here as he called her out.
"Hey panda ears what are you doing here?!"cardin called out as yumi glanced over smiling walking over hugging him kissing him on the cheek.
"Nothing much me and her went on a morning walk and we find two dead bodies is all"she replied as may walked over nodding crossing her arms under her bust.
"Yep, saw those two under the tarps dead early this morning. Along with umm what those psycho did"may said shivering in disgust as they could only imagine what happened. Zoey looked at the investigators as she stepped forward.
"How bad are we talking, and who are our victims?"she questioned as the faunus looked down at their notepad.
"The one on the left right here is a male, traits are a pair of shark fins. Along with his name being jake fins" he said as one kneeled down but that name caught sombra interest. Because that was one of seth friends and he might not like to hear their dead.
"Crap if he finds out wolf ears is dating a grimm knight he'll mess with her forever"sombra said worried pulling her scroll out beginning to text her because of this.
Sun noticed this as he leaned over whispering to her"hey who are you texting right now"he said catching her off guard as she fumbled with her scroll for a moment catching it.
"Ah..don't scare me like that…look that shark guy is one of seths friends"sombra whispered back making him worried. But the investigator soon pulled the tarp back to reveal a pale dead bodie with his throat sliced open. They were disgusted by almost losing their breakfast but kept it down luckily.
Calida knelt down studying it as she noticed something strange that being the holes in his hands along with the smeared blood on his throat. His hands were bloody though.
"Hmm their are holes in this ones hand was he mounted on a wall?"calida asked as the investigator nodded.
"He was, we found him pinned to the wall where the message was. But we found a few handprints doing a dna test along with a weapon"they said as one presented a combat knife sealed in a bag.
May looked at the blood stained throat as she lifted her beanie as she blinked switching between vision. After a few minutes she switch to a vision that showed two handprints but her scanner told her one was older than the other. Then she looked at the wall because their was another one, after a few seconds it matched two handprints.
"Hmm these two handprints match with each other when the dna test done?"may questioned as the investigator just got the result from the dna test as someone handed her it. She handed it to zoey who looked it over showing it to the group.
It showed a picture of yohi abiu but what some noticed were the two tattoos on his neck. The first being the crimson talon logo and another an atlas military tattoo.
"Hmph guess that our guy who killed these two?"the cat faunus said
"Maybe but says here his name is yohi abiu, ex atlas special forces oeprative. He was dishonorable dishcarge for murder of several of his comrades in the line of duty. All of them were found sliced to ribbons. "Zoey read as calida took it for a moment reading the rest.
"Along with being diagnosed with psychotic tendencies after he went through therapy. Which soon concluded him to be a sociopath, along with being found out to be a crimson talon operative. "Calida finished reading the report.
"So he was dishororable discharged and was a spy. And special forces? Who are they?"sombra questioned
"Apperently their just like Ace Ops but they don't stay in atlas. Their deployed all throughout remnant and give certain task. Mainly to eliminate certain people that cause trouble or take down enemy stronghold"akata said joining them from the side
"Hmmm and how many of them are in a group usually?"yumi questioned
"Eh about two and their highly skilled in assassinations"akata replied
But this got some of them thinking because they know one person who had experience dealing with these type of things.
"Alright but my guess is their probably a bunch of them with the talon."sun replied placing his hands behind his head.
Cardin chuckled"also we got someone who know how those type of guys operate"he reminded as they nodded in agreement at that. With zane experience and knowledge working with them and ace ops he might prove beneficial. But as they talked emerald got curious lifting the other tarp up. Then she saw something gut wrenching to reveal a girl with her face torn off with several slash marks on her body. Along with her arm being sliced off and her antenes torn off. Immediately she went to the side puking as the others saw the sight.
A few of them did the same in disgust as it was truly horrible. The inevstagator quickly covered her up.
"Uh yeah you might not wanna see her, the poor girl got messed up pretty bad"the inveisgator warned them but it was far too late. Emerald wiped her mouth coughing and spitting shivering in disgust.
Cardin did the same panting"now you tell us?!"he shouted in annoyance as the investagtiro nervously laughed as he decided to tell who this was.
"For starters this girl right here is a butterfly faunus name is tammy monarch"he said which just proved sombra theory that she was another one of seth friends.
"Alright so we got two dead bodies and they want him and piper. We should start by searching the island then later group back up at the house to discuss this. "Blake ordered as they did just that as some of them followed her to the guard station to set up a search party for their base. While some decided to do some more digging on their own around the island on possible locations. But the small drone kept following them as asani and her two faunus with her watched as sombra, sun, akata,yang and may walked off in one direction. They decided to maybe follow them for the time being since the other split from them.
Meanwhile right now at the clinic right now near the front desk of the clinic was xander hard at work. He was finishing up some paper work right now as he was quite happy with what he was doing. At first he wanted to become a huntsman like his sister did. But this was also nice because he got to help treat people and save them from dying.
Right now he was just sitting by the front with velvet who was also helping out. Along with naca who was in an arm cast, they could have healed her up but she wanted a small break.
"So what are you two up to today? Just gonna hang out here and play doctor"naca teased the two as velvet rolled her eyes.
"Well were helping out, we have to kill time before we head to havan anyway"she replied as she put some folders into a cabinet.
Xander nodded"yeah even with all the help were getting we know when the attack is. But we still have to wait for those ships to arrive"he reminded as the vacou girl knew that but she looked worried right now. Mainly because she was worried about her three teammates, for starter thisitie and bombay were at the academy. Yesterday calida told her bashira was on her way to havan finally.
But part of her hoped that witch didn't send any assassin after her teammates. If one was here they might be after miyuki or her. All she hoped for is that they can complete the mission given to them by ozpin. Soon enough the door could be heard opening to reveal the group walking in.
Velvet looked up waving"oh hey guys its nice to see you here"she greeted as onxyia hugged her in joy
"Same here bunny i'm just happy were all getting along right now. I missed this"onxyia playfully said nuzzling against her
"Ughh stop it…i'm kinda at work"she said bright red but the wolf pulled her closer
"Well i do love watching you work bun"she said peeking her on the cheek making the girl ears flopped over. But katherine cleared her throat making the two stand apart from each other.
"You two can play with each other with your boytoy later we got work to do"katherine reminded as her son noticed zane finally out of the house.
"Hey your out of the house finally, nice to finally see you walking"he said offering a fist bump as he just looked away not really returning it. Zane noticed a few faunus in the lobby glaring at him as they murmured. He know they hate him but he just wanted to get today over with.
"I..um yeah..let just get this over with"he softly said as he didn't really like doctor office that much anymore.
Katherine nodded as she picked up a clipboard"alright we'll get you started but you and your guard wait in the lobby. If anything happens we'll let you know"she said which made the women hesitated but relented. Zoey and her men waited in the lobby as a couple stood guard but a couple just sat down because today was pretty hot. The clinic manager then guided some to the back as xander maned the front desk with aruna and naca staying with him along with coco.
They walked through the hall until reaching a door as she opened it revealing an examination room. Their was a table and some chairs in the room along with a sink and mirror. Once inside katherine opened a cupboard pulling a patient gown out.
"Now i want you to get changed into something else alright for when we do the MRI."she stated which confused a couple of them.
"Why does he need to do that? Isn't what hes wearing fine?"nadia asked with some worry it seems.
Velvet shook her head placing some stuff down for the examination"no because he needs to wear metal free clothing and something loose. In some cases the machine can cause thermal burn."she warned which made them a little nervous but soon they decided to let him get changed. They left him alone as he walked into a changing room close by. As they waited outside onxyia leaned against the wall until someone called out to her.
"Yo double traits, how you holding up"kai greeted from the side making her smile slightly.
"Oh uh hey kai nothing much just here to help someone with their procedure"she replied nervously because she started to recall the advances he made on her during that grieving process of her. This might make things awkward, along with her being taken still.
Kai smiled"that nice heard your brother was alive, that great to hear"he said as he placed an arm on the wall she was getting to close for comfort. Katherine and nadia noticed this because she starters her boyfriend was in the changing room as this happened. The tiger faunus cleared her throat to catch his attention.
"Though your awfully close to her, pretty sure a girl would like her space"nadia warned because he was very close. Kai noticed this as he backed up.
"My bad, sorry not my fault your daughter cutes ma;am"he complemented as onxyia felt very awkward because her now still boyfriend along with her girlfriend was close by.
Katherine narrowed her gaze because she knows he took this job for his doctor degree. But she also know over the last year hes been trying to make the moves on her daughter. Even during the time she grieved for the love she thought she lost.
"That may be but a professional doens't flirt with your clients or your bosses daughter, she also taken"katherine warned to the peacock faunus confusion. But he backed off putting his hands up as he chuckled nerovusly because they kept staring at him.
"Alright i'll back off sorry, although i heard we got a patient just in. you need help?"he offered as she hesitated for a moment. But soon enough the door opened to the changing room as zane stepped out in a pair of patients pants with his jacket still on. Kai turned around and immediately had a look of disgust and hatred toward him.
"What the hell is this thing doing in the clinic?"kai said as his tail extended slightly in annoyance. This just made zane hurt as he looked down as nadia just glared at the boy.
"Don't call my son that and for starters he's getting his wounds treated. From roland and his hunter attacking him"nadia said but this just made kai roll his eye beginning to walk away.
"Alright then i aint treating that thing so it can go kill someone"kai replied as he turned their back to them to kathrine disappointment as she glared at him.
"Really? Because as a medical professionally you took an oath to treat anyone in need. "Katherine reminded but he just looked at her shaking his head.
"Yeah i aint treating that thing for all i care it can go die. "Kai replied with disgust walking off but not before noticing something. That being how close that wolf hes been trying to put the moves on is to that thing. He walked away as katherine just sighed.
"I expected that, we still have miss scarltina why don't we get you checked up then start the MRI"katherine said guiding him back to the room. She motioned for him sit down then remove his shirt and jacket. He did as he covered himself slightly because he been starting to become self conscious of his scars. But onxyia noticed how skinny he got now but still was toned.
"Alright first things let check your temperature along with your heart rate"she said placing a thermometer in his mouth as she checked his pulse. She felt it as it went at a nice and steady beat, then she wrote something down. Nadia sat their in anticipation because she can't remember the last time she was here for one of theses.
"So umm what your prognosis is he doing okay?"nadia asked worried
Katherine then removed the thermometer as it beeps seeing it was at normal temperature as she wrote something down
"well for starters his fevers gone, and his heart rate is normal. Now step on the scale"she said motioing to a scale as he hoped off the table hoping onto it. As they waited they got a look at his back seeing glowing veins and glowing eyes there as it blinked at them.
Nadia backed up slightly"ah! It fricking blinked at me"she screeched as onxyia was surprised to see something moving under his back. Zane covered himself up as the scale finished showing he was at around one hundred and fifty three pounds. He recalled last time he was around one seventy to eighty, he did lose alot of weight during that coma.
"I..um sorry..i uh can't really hide it…sorry if its creepy"he meekly said as onxyia got curious about something. She hesitantly walk over placing her hand on his back where the spine scar is but he didn't react.
"Can..can you even feel i'm touching your back?"she asked as he just shook his head.
"No..it praticucal numb..i sometimes feel something their. But most of the time i can't"he replied sadely which made his mother upset as velvet just shivered recalling that memeorie she saw. After that they did a few more examinations then left the room but not before making him put his jacket on to hide the grimm. They walked down the hall for ten minutes until arriving in a room with a cylinder like machine that had a bed on it suggesting it could slide in.
"Here we are the MRI room this is where we'll see if you suffered any brain damaged. Now remove your jacket then hope on in."katherine said but he just stared at it.
But to zane he just froze in fear at the sight of it as he was near his one fear, enclosed spaces. Immediately he began to visible shake to their surprise.
"Sweetie are you okay? Its just a machine not like it'll kill you or something"nadia reassured trying to guide him over but he wasn't moving.
Onxyia had her hands on his shoulder to calm him down"She right, its just machine theirs nothing to be afraid of."she though noticed how he was staring at the machine concluding something, he was claustrophobic.
"Dear, your afraid of enclosed spaces aren't you?"she softly asked making him go wide eyed shaking covering the back of his neck.
"Um…n-no"zane said stuttering not really liking his situation right now
"Look it'll be very quick, you need to be in their for three minutes alright"katherine reassured guiding him over toward the machine. But he soon saw a flash of that test tube he was put in and the small room he got thrown in. fear started to set in as he kept visible shaking.
"I..i can't..don't put me back into the room..please"he cried quietly with tears threatening to break. This surprised them how fearful he was of enclosed spaces as they tried to coax him. But it didn't work until an idea crossed velvet mind.
Velvet leaned down trying something that worked for nolan"it'll be quick the faster we get done maybe then you could back and do some maintenance on your weapons. "She said as they got what she was doing.
"Hmm true heck maybe even play that little guitar your wolfie got you"nadia teased making him blush slightly as onxyia just hugged him from behind comforting him.
"It'll be quick, i'd like to hear you play again actually. It was really nice"onxyia said as he took a breath before relenting. They helped him into the machine as they were surprised it took her to do it. But they soon walk to the side to the console as he layed their inside freaking out slightly. He was trying hard to not let fear sink in as it slowly took effect, as he moved a little trying to escape.
"You need to sit still, don't worry it won't be long"katherine reminded as he just layed their taking slow breaths. She pressed a button as it whirred to life as it began to scan him. But to him it felt like it was taking forever for him as tears slowly escaped his eyes. It pained nadia seeing him acting like this because she never knew about this. While onxyia held her tail nervous hoping it won't bring up too much trauma.
"Can we hurry up i rather not see him cry his eyes out again"nadia begged as katherine sighed because it wasn't done yet.
"I can't speed this up he only has on more minute"she said as they waited for that minute that felt like it took forever. But soon enough the machine noises started to die down slowly as it told them it was done. Immediately onxyia rushed over pulling the table out to reveal a shaken up zane who had some tears.
"Is..is it over?"he sheepishly asked as she gently embraced him.
"Its over, so um what are the result mom are we good?"onxyia asked as katheirne typed into her computer for a bit. After a bit she smiled turning the screen over showing them the medical scan of his brain. Though weird vines could be seen around it but it showed a sort of normal looking brain scan.
Nadia scratched her head confused what this meant"So um what does this all mean exactly is my kid any stupider?"she jokingly asked as he frowned in annoyance.
Velvet giggled slightly"no um it shows no brain damage which is great. Since we got to him on time he won't have any physical disabilities or mental disabilites from the looks of it"velvet said which was great to hear but onxyia wondered what those lines where.
"Umm what about those weird lines?"she asked pointing them out
Katherine hummed for a moment"they might be his little friend hes wrapped up good in their. My guess over the last seven years its coiled itself around basic motor functions and vision as well. But for now you should head back and rest"katherine said as she quickly deleted the scan to hide their tracks just incase. Then she walked back and came back five minutes later with a container as she handed him it.
"This ointment weill help with your bruises, try not to crack another rib okay. I'll be here running my clinic, you and my son can go with them to monitor his condition"she ordered as they did just that leaving the room. Zane quickly grabbed his clothes changing into them as they made their way to the front desk. But unknown to them kai got off his scroll calling someone glaring at the group.
Seems that sangie decided to murder a few faunus that have close ties with seth. Along with that it seems zane is healthy it seems after everything thats happened. Though kai seems supscious of that wolf hes been chasing. Thanks for reading!
