I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit, I will never leave a fallen comrade. Jason Shaw knew it was the end when he saw that grenade come through the window. Given a second chance as an immortal warrior he'll have to keep Commander Shepard alive, because failure is absolutely not an option. Now if only she'd learn to keep her head down.

Humanity is alone, nowhere to run. The Golden Age is a distant memory, and the Traveler is silent, hovering over our last city while invaders feud over the ruins of our civilization. We do not need another, even if they do come in peace. But just like the others, they came here with a price, and that price is too steep to pay. The Darkness is coming, and we won't survive this time.

A mass relay has been found, and there's Darkness coming through. In an effort to stop it, Guardians will encounter new, slightly less hostile aliens. And a new source of Darkness: Reapers.

In the grace of the Traveler's light, we sung. In the golden age of humanity, we sung. And in the age of Darkness? We sing. But no longer do we sing of grace, or peace, or prosperity. We are the Guardians, and our souls sing in the name of those who fell. We sing of war, and of victory! A MExDestiny crossover.

What happens when Shepard fails to stop the Reapers, and the Traveler sees this? He sends them another chance.
