"This is the part where a needle happy doctor sticks us with said needles, right?" Xander asked as they arrived in the infirmary.

"Yes and playing the role of the needle happy doctor is Dr. Janet Frazer, the only person on the base wearing anything other then combat boots." Colonel O'Neill said, pointing at a short woman in two inch heels.

"How do woman walk in those things? Cordy wears them every chance she gets. They make her legs look even better then they already do, but they also look like they hurt. So why do it?"

"One of the mysteries of woman that we men will never be able to figure out." O'Neill agreed.

"Colonel O'Neill, you brought guests." Dr. Frazer commented as she approached.

"Yes, we ran into them on the planet we were just on. This is Alexander Harris and Cordelia Chase. They're from another reality."

"You came through a Quantum Mirror?"

"No and I just finished explaining it to Major Carter."

"Well, that is more her area then mine. Alright, let's get you checked out. Anything I should know before we get started?" As she drew a vial of blood and then started as what looked like lightening flashed over the small needle prick.

"Aside from the fact that we're not entirely human?" Xander asked.

"Yes, that's a good place to start."

"Well, we were engineered by our parents, so we've both got a mix going on. Also, on the planet we were just on, we ran into one of the Gou'ald people. She wanted to make me her cuddle monkey. I said no. She said you have to die. So we left, in a hurry. She wasn't a great host."

"No, they tend not to be and they really don't like being told no, in any capacity." Dr. Frazer commented, as she checked his vitals. After what seemed like way too much time by Xander and Cordelia's measurements, she let them go. SG 1's check had been alot quicker and Colonel O'Neill was waiting for them.

"General Hammond wants to talk to you so I'm going to escort you up to the conference room."

"Not a problem, but any chance we can get something to eat. Growing teenage boy here. The term bottomless pit comes to mind. Twinkies would be a god send."

"Well, I don't think we have any Twinkies on base, but we do have a cafeteria, so once Hammond is done talking to you, I'll escort you there."

"Good, because I may not be a bottomless pit like he is, but I need food too." Cordelia said.

Once they arrived at the conference room, General Hammond motioned them into seats.

"I just wanted to take a moment and get to know you. Since our experience with people who travel through the Quantum Mirror is limited, I want to go over what we do know. The biggest issue is if there is another you here, you'll begin to break down physically within a couple of days."

"I know and normally that wouldn't be an issue since we have a control device and can jump at any time. But our device is currently damaged. One of those staff blasts hit it. The last time it was damaged, I was hit with a souped up version of a stun gun. Souped up enough to stop my heart temporarily. Fortunately, I'm immortal, so not a big deal for me. But staff blasts are alot more intense and may have caused considerably more damage. I've agreed to let your Major Carter have a look at it. Our parents may be able to repair it, but we're not. I only have a broad understanding of how it works."

"So you really are immortal. Were you engineered to be immortal?"

"Yes. And I have no idea how it was done. I'm not a scientist. Like my father, I'm more along the lines of a soldier. I have the entire UCMJ nearly word for word memorized and know my way around every thing from hand guns to rocket launchers to axes and swords. But I barely passed the mandatory computer course and only because Ms. Calendar held Saturday classes for people like Cordy and me."

"You can do that neat telekinetic thing." O'Neill pointed out.

"Yes and that's not all I can do. Still trying to figure out what all I can do. You could say we both got an upgrade. We're not a danger to you, unless you're a danger to us. We will defend ourselves, but we're not going around attacking people. I realize you don't know us enough to be sure of that, but my word of honor. My foster father was very big on honor and neither he nor my father, are people I want to disappoint."

"Do you mean foster father in the way of knights?" Daniel asked. "I'm curious since your father doesn't sound like someone who'd lose custody of you, unless engineering you is illegal."

"It's not illegal, at least not in our reality and since my father chose Duncan, my foster father, because he could teach me, as well as look after me, that sense of the word does apply."

"I haven't had a chance to open the device up yet, sir." Major Carter told General Hammond. "But I have examined the outside. There clearly is damage from a staff blast. What can you tell me about what I'll find inside?" She asked Xander.

"Crystal based technology. Are you familiar with it?"

"The Gou'ald and the Asgard both use crystal technology, so did the Ancients."

"The device is Alteran according to my father and did you say Asgard?"

"Yes, as in my good buddy Thor." O'Neill told him. "Why, do you know them in your reality?"

"You could say that. Considering Thor's my father."
