"Thor's the one who engineered you?" Major Carter asked. "Why?"

"To destroy a creature responsible for thousands of deaths."

"You were engineered to be a weapon?!" O'Neill exclaimed.

"To wield weapons capable of destroying it. We both were. And we did."

"And you didn't have a problem with that?!" Daniel asked, incredulous.

"No, I don't. I had a choice, I could have said no. But people would have kept dying. I couldn't have lived with myself if I hadn't tried."

"Neither could I." Cordelia told them.

"You were also engineered to be a weapon?" General Hammond asked.

"Essentially. The weapon I used was forged to be used by a specific person. I fit the criteria for that person. As Thor put it, shades of grey. Which is worse, they do nothing and that thing went on killing and being responsible for untold dead or make a way to destroy it? Like Xander said, we could have said no. Would you say no?"

The adults in the room looked at each other and realized, they wouldn't have said no.

Deciding to change the subject, Major Carter asked a question. "You said the Quantum Mirror was made by the Alterans, what can you tell us about them?"

"They ruled Earth long before the current humans did. They were human too. They created Atlantis, they told our ancestors about it."

"The Ancients! That's what we call them." Daniel said excitedly. "But how do you know they made Atlantis?"

"We've been there. In another reality. We weren't there long, less then an hour. A version of us was there. What little we saw was beautiful. But I'm sorry, we were in a hurry and didn't ask where exactly it is. But it was under the ocean. We saw it though a view port. A couple hundred feet, at least. I'm not sure it was on Earth, considering my counterpart said they'd defeated two alien races."

"You mentioned upgrades, what did that entail?" General Hammond asked.

"I guess you could call them mental abilities, like the telekinesis. Cordy gets premonitions, and is mildly telepathic. I can see beyond the surface of something, which is how I knew there was one of those Gou'ald things in that woman. Still trying to figure it all out, but that's part of why we're on this journey, to help us grow into our abilities."

"You're trusting us with alot of information." O'Neill pointed out.

"And I already told you, if you try to experiment on us, we will protect ourselves. We're stuck here for the next little while. Being as open as we can, will make our stay more smooth."

"Yes, it will." General Hammond agreed. "But I will have to report your arrival to my superiors."

"Sir, just because the Thor in this reality didn't make him, doesn't mean the Thor in this reality wouldn't strongly object to the NID playing games with them." O'Neill pointed out.

"Good point, one I will emphasis when I make my report. Would you like us to contact Thor?" General Hammond asked.

"Not unless there's an emergency. Our Thor told us we should avoid their counterparts if we can, just like we should avoid our own. It's why we where on another world instead of Earth. Distance from any potential counterpart means it takes longer for a breakdown to begin."

"That may be true, sir." Major Carter said. "Theoretically, when my counterpart came through the mirror, she should have lasted longer, but our proximity sped her deterioration up. If we hadn't gotten her back to her own reality, she would have died."

"I understand it's a very violent death. The body is ripped apart." Xander said sympathetically.

"She had the most horrific seizures." Major Carter agreed. "But we were able to get her back safely."

"That's good. Are there any other questions?"

"I have a question." They looked towards the door of the conference room and saw Dr. Frazer standing there. "You said you were engineered and you're, to quote you, a mix. That mix seems to include animal DNA. I'm not sure what kind since it will take a more in depth analysis, but could you explain how you have an animal DNA in your genetic makeup?"

"I'm a shape shifter."

"We've met alien shape shifters before. Not something that's going to make us scream not possible!" O'Neill quipped.

"At long as it doesn't make you yell 'release the hounds, it's hunting time'!" Xander quipped back.

"When they engineered you, they went all out." O'Neill commented?

"Pretty much everything but the kitchen sink." Xander agreed. "And yes, that was a lame joke. Hunger makes for lack of functional braincells."

"Then we'll call this meeting done for now." General Hammond said with a chuckle. "Colonel, if you could show them to the cafeteria."

"No problem. Anything in particular you're in the mood for, besides Twinkies."

"No, but I'm still avoiding pig."

"Why?"

"I threatened to eat a racist cop awhile back. He was a murderer. Still makes me quezey thinking about it."

"Why? Just because you threatened to eat him? Where did that insult come from anyway?"

"I didn't mean pig as an insult. That cop was a Bauershwein, in that reality, they're one of any number of offshoots of humanity. In his case, he actually resembled a pig. So I'm going to be avoiding pig for awhile."

Since there wasn't much he could say to that, O'Neill just led them to the cafeteria.
