Author's Note:

The First chapter of the story takes inspiration from A New Beginning by Stream98 but the rest of the series will be somewhat more original which will be evident in the second chapter.

As I woke up I noticed that I wasn't in bed, rather I was lying down on a bench in a park I didn't recognise, I bolted upright and checked my pockets out of instinct and found some rather strange items.

"My wallet and a flip phone?" Considering I don't take my wallet with me on the regular and flip phones are before my time… This is very odd.

Checking my wallet first I found my ID and some cash like I expected but taking a closer look I found some… oddities to say the least.

"Why do I look… Handsome in this photo". Since no one looks good in their government ID photos this was odd to say the least and while I don't consider myself to be ugly by any means I'm certainly not a looker so this photo was very odd. Other discrepancies on my license were my address and date of birth.

"I haven't lived at that address since I was seven and I definitely wasn't born in the year 2000 also since when do I carry Yen with me?. " Deciding that was enough searching through my wallet I then moved onto the phone that was in my pocket.

"Crap it has a password, although something tells me that I should try…" and using the password I use for my phone worked for some reason, getting distracted and fooling around with it I stumbled onto the contact list and found some very odd names on it.

"Azazel? Shemhazai? Just on those names alone I'm not liking where this is going". Looking further at the contact list revealed a much more recognisable name which confirmed the worst.

"Vali Lucifer… FUCK! I really really hope that this is a joke because I'm about to do unspeakable things to the next goddamn person I fucking see!" Taking a few minutes to calm down I started thinking about my next steps.

"I guess I'll call Azazel for help… Can't believe that sentence came out of my mouth".

Just as I was about to call him, a bright light nearby caught my attention.

'A light weapon' I knew this instinctively somehow. "Guess I won't have to call him after all… Although something about this seems very familiar… I'll guess I'll take the stealthy approach then".

I very quickly made my way to the source of the light and revealed a very familiar scene and I caught the tail end of a very one sided conversation.

"- would you die for me?" said Raynare, again a very weird thing to say even if it was said mentally.

Before she could do anything I stepped out of the bushes I was hiding behind and spoke up.

"Yeah I'm gonna have to ask you to not kill him, it would seriously ruin my week." Although I somehow managed to keep a calm demeanor on the outside, I was freaking out on the inside but my cooler head prevailed .

Raynare threw her spear at me but I managed to catch it and throw it back in one fluid motion but just before the spear could meet its mark she dispelled it but I advanced while the spear was in motion punching her in the ribs while she was caught off guard.

'How the HELL did I just do that?!' I then realized that Issei (still super weird) hadn't ran away yet.

"What are you doing? GO!" I said to Issei, with the way he took off I think he got the message and then turned back to Raynare where she looked absolutely livid.

"How dare you, A lowly human harm ME!" she shrieked.

Just as I was about to continue my attack, I felt a presence in the direction where Issei had fled to and was met with another fallen angel, Dohnaseek if I remember correctly. However I noticed him too late and his spear ended up impaling me in the shoulder and the agonizing pain from, I dunno A FUCKING SPEAR IN MY SHOULDER, gave Raynare the opportunity to stab me in the gut with a light spear, Surprisingly I didn't fall over from the pain immediately and had enough energy to deck her right in her cheekbone. I then collapsed onto my knee, holding my gut near where her spear had torn a hole through my body and coughed out some blood.

"Come Raynare, this one is not worthy of being finished off by our hands, besides our job here is done, " said Dohnaseek from behind me.

"Well fuck you too…" I rasped out.

They gave no indication of hearing me instead flying into the night leaving me to bleed to death. When they were gone I collapsed onto my back staring up at the starless night sky.

"I imagined I was gonna die with a better view, but this'll do" I wheezed out. You know that belief that you see your life flash before your eyes when you're about to die, I can confirm that is in fact bullshit, your vision just gets blurry, no wait those are tears . When the realization of 'oh I'm going to die' I didn't get sad nor did I accept it. Instead I got angry, in that moment I have never felt more angry then I have ever felt in my entire life.

"DAMN IT! I'm not gonna die like this!" Of course as soon as I said this I got sent into a coughing fit, each cough sending out more blood then the last, until it ceased and as my breathing and heart rate got slower, the all consuming anger I had felt earlier had subsided.

Eventually I was too tired to even keep my eyes open, my life force fading but before I went to the great beyond I saw two approaching figures.

'Took them long enough' were my last thoughts before everything faded to black.
