Dad!" Natsu whined, as he sat on the Fire Dragon King's back. "Do we have to go see the other dragon slayer kids!"

Igneel glanced at his pink head son. "I thought you loved playing with the other kids." His strong dragon voice echoed.

Little Natsu pouted and rested his chin on his hands. "I like playing with Sting, Rogue, and Wendy but not Gajeel! He's such a jerk and he is always making Wendy cry!"

Igneel groaned slightly. Metalicana's little brat has been picking on Natsu since the first moment they met. Of course, being the son of the mighty dragon King Ingeel, Natsu always challenged Gajeel to a fight but neither of them ever won, they just kept throwing punches until their parents separated them…well, until Grandine suppurated them, Melalicana would just keep screaming at Gajeel to finish what the little brat started and Igneel would cheer Natsu on.

Igneel sighed, he was being a terrible example. "You and Gajeel are fellow dragon slayers and dragons must always stick together…. even if some of them are jerks. You can say that dragons are like siblings, brothers and sisters, we fight, we bicker, but we always got each other's wings."

Natsu looked at his back then raised a brow at Igneel. "But I don't have wings." Igneel sweat dropped and he shook his. "Just…try not to get into a fight today, I'm in no mood for it."

"Ok, Dad, I'll try…but if Gajeel starts calling me names I'm going to hit him with my fire dragon fist! Then I'll show him who the strongest dragon slayer is!!"

Igneel shook his head but couldn't help but smile at his tempered son. The boy is only five, yet he has as much fire in him as Igneel. 'One day, my boy…one day.'

Couple hours later,

Igneel finally arrived at the dragon's usual meeting spot in the forest. Natsu slid off Igneel, using his tail like a slide and landed on his feet. "I am going to talk with the other dragons, don't get into any trouble while I'm gone. No wandering, just stay here, understand?"

Natsu nodded and Igneel took off.

"Hey, Pinky!"

Natsu groaned at the all too familiar voice. He looked to see Gajeel with a smug look on his face. Sting, Rogue, and Wendy were hiding in a bush, obviously assuming that a fight was soon to break out.

"Who you calling Pinky, Metal face!" Natsu spat. Gajeel grinned, a grin Natsu knew too well, the grin that tells him Gajeel wants to challenge him again. "I got an idea on how we can see who is the strongest and bravest, dragon slayer, once and for all."

Natsu smirked with a glint in his eye, obviously excited to take on whatever challenge Gajeel had in store. "Well, what is it? Whatever it is, I can handle it!"

"On the way here, I saw a small village that was full of gold iron." Gajeel licked his lips as he thought about the tasty gold iron for a moment. "Gold iron is my favorite but it's really hard to find since most of it is always locked up by some fancy rich guy…Whoever can steal the most gold iron and return here without getting caught wins."

Three-year-old Wendy peeked her head out of the bush. "I-Isn't that d-dangerous? W-Won't your Papa get mad at you?"

Gajeel scoffed. "My 'Papa' won't know about it! I'll eat it all by the time he comes back from his boring meeting with your guys' stupid dragons!"

Natsu was ready to take on the challenge, but he remembered what Igneel had said about wandering. "But Dad said that I had to stay in the forest."

Gajeel rolled his eyes. "You always do what Daddy says?" He said, in a mocking manner. Natsu scowled. "No!"

"Then what's the problem? Are you scared~"?

Natsu growled. "I'll show you who's scared!" He yelled before running towards the village. "I'm fired up now!"

Gajeel ran after him as the other dragon slayer kids looked at each other, worriedly.

Meanwhile,

Igneel and the other dragons were sitting by a pond, catching up. They only see each other every few months because they were all busy with the dragon council and training their little ones.

"So, how is the training with Natsu going?" Grandine asked Igneel as he was eating a big fish he caught.

If Igneel was being honest, he loses his temper with Natsu every time they train because the boy would whine and lose his temper when he couldn't do the task. He is very talented and picks up quickly, but he never takes it as seriously as Igneel would like which made him lose his patience even more. But Igneel being Igneel was too prideful to ever admit his struggles to his fellow dragons.

"The boy is picking up fast, I have no doubt he will turn into a strong dragon slayer one day."

Metalicana scoffed. "Maybe but he will never be as strong as Gajeel! I train that little punk to his core while you play games with Natsu!"

Igneel growled at him. "You dare speak to me that way?! The mighty Fire Dragon King, Igneel!"

Metalicana rolled his silver eyes. "You mean fallen Fire Dragon King. Remember? You lost the fight to Aco-

The Iron dragon was cut off when Igneel growled and got close to his snout, smoke was coming out of his nostrils, and he glared hard at the iron dragon. "Do not dare say his name! Unless you wish for me to rip off your wings!"

Weisslogia sighed. "Must you two fight every time we meet?" Skiadrum rolled his eyes. "Can't we just enjoy the day, for once?" He said, trying to take a nap.

The two dragons ignored them and Metalicana gave Igneel a grin, showing his tough iron fangs. "Is that a challenge, old dragon?"

Igneel smirks with a glint in his eye. "You want to take this to the sky, or would you rather fight on the ground where I can throw your rusted old body into the Earth?"

"You're on, flame dragon!" Metalicana said before taking to the sky, Igneel soon after "I'm fired up now!"

Weisslogia and Skiadrum both watched the fight, cheering for the dragon who they thought would win. Weisslogia betted on Igneel and Skiadrum betted on Metalicana. Grandine shook her head at them, clearly unamused.

She sighed. "And you two wonder where your boys get it."

In the village,

Natsu and Gajeel were sneaking into the village being careful not to be seen by any humans. Gajeel and Natsu's eyes widened in wonder at the town filled with silver and gold. "Whoa~"

Gajeel's mouth drools in hunger. "…you ready?" Natsu grinned. "Heck yeah I'm ready!"

"Make sure you don't get caught, there are guards everywhere." Gajeel warned. "You have until the sun reaches those hills." He said pointing at the three hills in the distance. "Got it?"

"Yeah! Let's do this!" Natsu said excitedly while running into the town, Gajeel soon after.

In the forest,

Wendy, Sting, and Rogue were staring out in the forest at the town Natsu and Gajeel ran into. Wendy was playing with her short blue hair in worry while Sting and Rogue were talking.

"So, who do you think will win?" Rogue asked Sting. "Hmm…my bet is on Natsu. You?"

"I think Gajeel, he can carry way more weight than Natsu can, and he can always just eat the iron then spit back up when he comes back."

Sting nodded. "True but Natsu has more determination than Gajeel which means he won't stop collecting iron until he is sure that he has beaten him which will probably take a while."

Rogue nodded in agreement. "They have never done a challenge like this before, it's kinda dangerous, their fathers are going to kill them if they find out. Especially Gajeel's dad, he is very hard on him."

Wendy started pacing. "This is bad, this is really, really bad! I have a bad feeling; I don't like this at all! What if they get hurt or captured or worse?!"

The two boys looked at her. "Don't worry, Wendy, they'll be fine." Sting said but Wendy shook her head. "No! I got a bad feeling…I think they are in more danger than they think! I'm telling my mother!"

Rogue stepped in front of her before she could take off. "Wait, Wendy, don't do that!" Sting went next to him. "Didn't you hear what we just said? Their fathers will kill them if we tell."

"Then Natsu and Gajeel will kill us for snitching." Rogue said and Sting nodded in agreement. Wendy scowled. "I don't care! I don't want them to get hurt!"

Sting stood straight and crossed his arms. "Well, we're the oldest and we say you're not telling." Wendy kicked him in the leg which made him hiss in pain and go on his knees. "Just because you guys are one year older than me it doesn't mean you guys get to boss me around! I'm telling!"

She then ran past them and took off running to their parents. "Wendy, wait, stop!" Rogue yelled before he and Sting ran after her, hoping to catch her before she could tell their parents.

Back in the village,

Natsu was snatching iron from almost every stand and putting them in a bag he found. He sighed, tiredly. "Man, this bag is getting heavy, I wonder how Gajeel is doing?"

"Doing just fine, Pinky!"

Natsu growled and turned to face Gajeel. "What did you just call me-!"

He said angrily but when his eyes caught the huge bag behind Gajeel he lost his voice in shock. The bag was way taller than Gajeel and way bigger than Natsu's bag. Natsu's jaw dropped. "How are you able to carry that much?!"

Gajeel scoffed. "Are you kidding me? My dad makes me carry 10x this weight. Maybe if your dragon wasn't as dumb as you, you would be as strong as me."

Natsu growled and dropped his bag. "What did you just say about my dad?!" Gajeel glared. "You heard me, Pinky!"

The two were then in a fist fight. Gajeel kicked Natsu in the stomach, sending him flying into the open. Natsu growled and was about to start hitting him again when a shadow covered him. He looked up to see two strange men, grinning wickedly at him.

"What do you think, Peter? How much do you think we can make out of this little brat?" The man named Peter was a black haired, suited man. "I don't Ford, why don't we take him in and find out?"

The man named Ford was a long blond haired, leather jacket man. He grabbed Natsu by the arm as the boy struggled. "Hey, let go of me! My dad will kill you if you don't!"

Gajeel gasped as he watched the scene before him, he wanted to move but his body was frozen in fear.

"O, he is feisty." Peter said as Ford started to force Natsu into a crate. "Gajeel! Help!" Natsu cried before he was locked inside the crate. Ford then put the crate on the cart and went on his horse about to leave.

It was then that Gajeel was finally able to move. "N-Natsu! Hold on!" He started running out, but it was too late, the two men were already leaving with Natsu locked inside an iron box. "No!" Gajeel cried. 'What do I do now?'

Without even thinking, Gajeel grabbed his bag full of iron and jumped on someone's horse. "Hey!" A man yelled as Gajeel started riding the horse as fast as he could.

With the dragons,

Igneel and Metalicana were still fighting in the sky as Grandine watched worriedly. "Be careful you boys don't hurt yourselves!" She scolded.

"Don't worry, Grandine!" Igneel roared. "I will win this fight before long!"

"Don't be so sure, Igneel, you're running out of fire! You won't be able to continue for much longer!" Metalicana said as he hit Igneel in the face with his iron tail. Igneel glared and growled at him. "The Fire Dragon King never runs out of Fire!"

Grandine sighed as Weisslogia and Skiadrum came out of the trees with some cooked meat in their mouths. "They're still fighting?" Weisslongia said after he put his food down.

Grandine nodded.

"How much longer are they going to keep this up?" Skiadrum asked.

"Until one of them wins," Grandine answered. "Or if something happens that will make them stop but I don't think anything could possibly-

She was cut off when she started to hear rustling in the bushes, the three dragons grew wary but relaxed when they saw that it was their kids falling on top of Wendy. Wendy looked up and immediately pushed the boys off her when she saw her mother and got on her feet.

"Mama!" Wendy yelled and ran to her.

"Wendy, dear, what are you doing here?"

Wendy was about to answer but Sting got up and covered her mouth. "Don't tell them!"

"Don't tell us what, Sting?" Weisslogia said, almost sternly. Sting tensed. "I-It's nothing important, dad, really! Wendy is just overreacting like always!"

"If it's not important then you wouldn't mind her telling us." His father said as he glared at him. Skiadrum then stepped up. "Rogue." He said in a warning tone. "What is going on?"

"I-I..well.." Rogue struggled to speak.

Wendy pulled away from Sting and looked at their parents. "Natsu and Gajeel went into this iron village, and I think they're in terrible!"

"WHAT?!!!" Both the dragons and the kids turned when Igneel and Metalicana landed in front of them. They had stopped fighting when they noticed the kids talking to their fellow dragons and heard everything Wendy said.

"Dammit Natsu, I told him to stay put!" Igneel yelled furiously before taking to the sky. Metalicana growled. "When I get my claws on that ugly face punk, he will be very sorry!" He said before following Igneel.

In the village,

Natsu was pounding and using his fire magic to bust out of the crate, but it was no use. "Hey, let me out!" He demanded. "Ah, shut up you brat!" Ford said before kicking the crate, causing Natsu to hit his head.

Gajeel was on a hill riding the horse above the two men. He grabbed his bag and started pouring out the iron onto the road. A gold iron shield hit Ford right on the head. "Ow! What the-!"

He was cut off when the wheel got hit with iron, causing it to break. The cart then rolled off an edge and fell into the forest. The men were knocked out and Gajeel got off his horse, searching for Natsu.

"Natsu! Natsu! Come on, flame head, where are you?!" He called but stopped when he heard pounding nearby. He ran to the sound and found the iron crate. "Natsu!"

"Gajeel?! Get me out! I need to teach those guys a lesson!" Natsu yelled.

"Hang on!" Gajeel began to eat the iron screws on the crate. When he was done, he pulled off the top and Natsu immediately jumped out. "Freedom!" He yelled happily. "Thanks, Gajeel!"

He then looked around with a frown. "Now, where are those jerks?! I'm going to beat them into a pulp!"

He and Gajeel both froze when they heard a gun being loaded. They look to see the two men pointing their guns at them. "You brats will pay for this!"

Natsu and Gajeel both shook in fear and the men grinned but before that could pull the trigger, they heard a loud roar coming towards them. "Get away from my son!!" Igneel yelled as he hit the two men with his tail, sending them flying.

Natsu smiled. "Dad!"

The two men landed in front of Metalicana who grabbed them with his claws. The two men shook in fear which made the old iron dragon grin. He threw them as hard as he could, sending them as far away as possible.

Gajeel frowned. "...Oh no, Dad."

Igneel landed in front of Natsu and gave him a stern look, making the boy frown. "Natsu! What have I told you about wandering without me and what have I said about going into human villages!"

Natsu bit the bottom of his lip. "I-I'm sorry, Dad. Are you mad?" Igneel growled. "Of course, I'm mad!"

Natsu lowered his head and Igneel's eyes softened. He bent down and nuzzled Natsu. "But I'm happy you are safe." The boy smiled and hugged his father's large snout.

Metalicana glared at Gajeel. "Gajeel, what were you thinking?! Did Natsu put you up to this?!"

Gajeel was tempted to say 'yes' to avoid getting in bigger trouble but decided against it. "...No, it was my idea. I'm sorry, Dad, I-I-"

"Gajeel's lying!" Natsu suddenly said, which took Gajeel by surprise. "It was my idea, Metalicana. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put Gajeel in danger, it's just that…I know gold iron is Gajeel's favorite and I wanted to get him some." He then looked at his father with a smile. "After all, he is like a big brother to me."

Igneel smiled proudly at Natsu for taking the blame for Gajeel. It almost made him not want to punish him for disobeying him…almost.

Metalicana scoffed. "Of course, what else would I expect from the son of Igneel! If your father didn't spoil you so much than maybe, you wouldn't be so dumb!"

Igneel growled and got in Metalicana's face. "What did you say about my boy!" Metalicana glared. "You heard me, you oversized lizard!"

The two then continue to argue. Natsu and Gajeel both looked at each other before laughing a little. After that, Metalicana punished Gajeel by making him do twice as hard training than normal. Igneel punished Natsu by taking away all his favorite foods for the month which put the boy in dramatic tears. Natsu and Gajeel still fight all the time, but they became closer, eventually becoming friends which, they were both happy with.
