From Mike's desk:

I decided to rewrite 'Melissa Possible?' because it had gotten to the point where I was just rewriting Kim Possible episodes with the Milo crew in them and that just didn't seem right. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm still gonna set this in Sharper's 'Mad Dogs & Tigers' universe, but I'm gonna take his 'A New Redheaded Cheerleader' and put it in a different perspective - that of Candace's cousin, Melissa Chase. Still takes place 4 months prior to the start of 'Mad Dogs & Tigers', but just across Danville from where Phineas and Ferb live, so don't let that confuse you. Anyway...let's ROLL IT!

Chapter 1

Setting: Chase household

All was calm within the house of the Chase family on a warm summer day. Inside the room of Melissa Chase, the 14 year old offspring of firefighter/paramedic Richard Chase and John P. Trystate Elementary School principal Pepper Chase, Melissa was panicking, snuggled up to her Pikachu plushie and giving a big sigh.

"Pikachu...oh, Pikachu...only you can understand what I'm going through right now," Melissa lamented.

(half an hour earlier)

Melissa was on her blue phone, the same shade of blue as was worn by her favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, with her former rival turned best female friend Amanda Lopez, to celebrate a monumental occasion.

"Amanda, guess what?"

"What is it, Melissa?" Amanda asked as if she already knew what had happened.

"Milo and Zack just made the Middleton High football team!" Melissa exclaimed with the news she just heard. She then squealed excitedly over the phone to Amanda.

Amanda was on the other end of her phone, typing away on her laptop. "Hit the nail on the head there, Melissa. Milo and Zack are right there on the roster! Milo's #24, Zack's #13."

"So what do you think I can do to impress Milo? I mean, there's, like, 12 weeks in Middleton's football season, right?" Melissa asked Amanda. Amanda and Milo did date throughout 7th and 8th grade before breaking up. Same went for Melissa and Zack. But once those breakups happened, it seemed like the perfect storm had brewed for Milo and Melissa to finally hook up.

"Well," Amanda started to explain. "I hear there's this unwritten tradition at Middleton High that cheerleaders date the athletes. Some kind of deal with the Social Food Chain."

"Meh. I don't buy it. Milo and I have been tight since Pre-K. We'd have that so-called 'Food Chain' dismantled quicker than you can say 'Murphy's Law'!" Melissa said. "Still...cheerleaders getting the athletes..." the curly-haired ginger thought to herself as an idea brewed in her head.

"Melissa, what are you thinking?" Amanda asked on the other end.

"Amanda, I got it! I'll try out to be a Middleton Mad Dog cheerleader! I'll be waving my pom-poms in the air, flipping like crazy and Milo will be mine alone!"

"Well good luck on that one, Melissa!" Amanda beamed. "And let's get together with Lydia, Candace and Stacy at Googolplex Mall later!"

"Okay, and thanks, Amanda! Laters!" Melissa grinned as she put down her phone and rushed down to her parents.

Melissa then rushed to her loving mother, Pepper Chase, smiles abound. Pepper, on the other hand, was going over each teacher's performance review.

"Hey, mom!"

"Hey, little spark!" Melissa's mom greeted, hugging her daughter.

"So...guess who made the Middleton High football team?"

"Oh, I don't know...would it happen to be that chaotic best friend of yours that you've been pining for since you two were in 3rd grade? Milo Murphy?"

"Zack too, but yes...my sweet chaotic angel Milo is on the Middleton Mad Dog football team! Zack's the quarterback, Milo as a receiver!" Melissa squealed as her mom grabbed a glass of orange juice. "Oh, and mom..." Melissa added.

"Yes, honey?"

"I'd love to try my hand at being a cheerleader..." Melissa said as she pulled out a Middleton Cheerleading pamphlet and showed it to her mom. In it, she saw pics of the cheerleaders having the red carpet being rolled out for them two hours prior to kickoff. Tara Queen was in a long red dress and gold jewelry waving to the Mad Dog faithful and in another picture, Crystal Appleton was wearing designer Club Banana jeans and a golden top with diamond earrings.

Tears formed in Mrs. Chase's eyes. "My little spark...a Mad Dog cheerleader, cheering on the team and your dad and I there to record every minute of it!" the veteran grade school principal beamed, knowing that her daughter was growing up too fast for her.

"Can I, mom? Please?" Melissa eagerly asked, flashing her mom her signature 'Doe Eyes'.

Her mom's answer, however, would shock her.

"Melissa, I'm glad that you want to try something new. But I don't know about this. There's some negativity that comes with being a Mad Dog cheerleader..."

"What do you mean, mom? Are the outfits too skimpy? I mean, I don't think Milo would mind that."

"No, honey. It's that no good Veruca Salt."

Hearing that name struck a cord with Melissa. "The rich peanut heiress that fell into the garbage chute during a tour of the Wonka factory a few years ago?"

Mrs. Chase gave a nod. "That's the one. She's the good-for-nothing captain that's making the paper for all the wrong reasons. And there's something much worse than that..."

"Worse?"

"She has the mental stability of your cousin Candace. And then there's her lack of morals. There's been instances of Veruca being abusive to her parents and the worst part is that Veruca...Veruca...oh, I don't know how to say it. Just promise me you won't tell anyone about this - not your dad, not Amanda or Lydia or Zack, not even Milo or your own cousins."

Melissa was already taken aback by what she heard about the cheerleader more nefarious than Kim Kardashian. Despite that, she nodded her head in agreement.

"Veruca...she's highly notorious for her sexual escapades with Middleton's star athletes, especially with the ones on the football team. Worst part is she gets them drunk first and after she's done with them, she gets the athletes arrested instead of her, using them as scapegoats...in fact, there was an incident only 4 months ago."

Melissa recoiled in horror at hearing this. "That means...no! Not my Milo!"

She then ran upstairs to her room, crying for her Milo and fearing that he might fall into the hands of a crazed cheerleader. Just then, the phone rang. It was Melissa's aunt Linda. Mrs. Chase picked up the phone and heard Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher's voice on the other end.

"Hi, Pepper!" Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher cheerfully greeted on the other end of the line.

"Oh, hi, Linda! What's up?" Mrs. Chase greeted back.

"Been better. Your niece Candace just ran off in a huff after I told her about that Veruca girl at Middleton High. She's so worried about her boyfriend Jeremy. She wants to be a Mad Dog cheerleader."

"Same with your niece Melissa. She wants to be a cheerleader at Middleton High too. Told her about Veruca and she stormed off in a huff, worrying about Milo potentially falling into Veruca's paws..."

On the other end of the line, an idea came to Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher.

"Pepper, I got an idea! Lawrence and I are going to a Civil War re-enactment in Vicksburg tomorrow. We also found a paper that has a story of Veruca's arrest..."

"Which one? Danville Dealer or Jackson Sun?"

"Either one. I got the Danville Dealer with me."

"I got both..." Mrs. Chase said as she scanned the paper. She took particular interest at a certain red-headed teen hero standing triumphantly over Veruca as the blonde witch of Middleton was handcuffed and shoved into the back of a police cruiser, her mink coat covered in bubblegum. That teen hero was none other than Kim Possible. "...is that Kim Possible?"

"It is! She's perfect! I just gotta call her up and Candace will be a cheerleader in no time! I'm sure Candace would love to see cousin Melissa too!"

"I'll bring Milo and Melissa over tomorrow morning, 7 AM!"

"You rock in HD, Pepper! See you tomorrow!" Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher beamed as she hung up. She had one more call to make - one to legendary teen hero Kim Possible.

Meanwhile, back at the Chase household, Pepper Chase had a teenage daughter to calm down. And a bit to the east in Middleton, plans were being set in motion. If all goes well, there would be 3 red-headed cheerleaders on the Middleton Mad Dogs in this upcoming year.

So...here's hoping this goes better than my last attempt at a KP/Milo crossover. We'll see Milo and Zack soon...maybe in the next chapter. Who knows? Until then...IT'S MILO'S WORLD AND WE'RE ALL LIVING IN IT!
