*a few months ago*
It has been awhile since Subaru returned to Lugunica and while Emilia was glad that everything was solved , she was more happy that he managed to come back in good health. She have full confidence he would be alive but she was worried for him because he was always reckless when it comes to saving his friends and it gotten worse in Vollachia , when he had a whole army under him who he felt responsible for, while Emilia was proud that Subaru managed to gather an army under him, she was worried that he was putting too much on himself. But he somehow managed to keep everyone alive and the zombie problem in Vollachia was solved by him , he even managed to put Vincent back on the throne and the reward he asked for was a friendly relationship between Vollachia and Lugunica. As expected of her knight, he would always pull through whenever he needed to , She just wished he wouldn't put so much weight on those shoulders of his that were heavy from whatever he was carrying.
When it was announced to the rest that Subaru came back safe, the Kingdom were in relief , glad that one of the most important person in the kingdom returned back safe and sound , but from what Otto told her , it seems that the higher ups of the Lugunica were more worried that Subaru would deflect to Vollachia after they were informed that Subaru and Vincent had a [good] relationship and Vincent wanted Subaru to take over one of the divine general seat , much to Subaru disgust. They were also disappointed that Subaru didn't ask for more for his reward when Vincent told him he could have anything he wanted. Emilia frowned upon hearing it , while it was true Subaru deserved more for what he has done , she felt that being allies and not being at war was something to be celebrated , after all , both Vollachia and Lugunica had bad blood and now they finally managed to get on the friendly terms after so long , now the 2 kingdom should be more peaceful and should be willing to help each other out now right ?
Otto just smiled bitterly and could answer her with, that she and Subaru were really made for each other , to which Emilia replied by puffing her chest out with a rare smug look on her , saying.
"Of course, Subaru is my knight after all"
To which Otto just sighed and muttered.
"Looks like you still have a long way to go Natsuki-san"
Emilia tilted her head, asking Otto what he meant , Otto answered by shrugging his shoulders with a defeated smile.
A celebration party by Rosswal was held for Subaru to show the Kingdom that their upcoming hero was fine and for nobles to interact with him , on the Kingdom's request, much to Subaru's dismay, he just sighed and accepted it , stating that while he prefer not to do any party , interacting with the nobles means more chance to turn them to support the Emilia camp.
Delighting Emilia who smiled and held his hand , thanking him. Ram snorted, saying who would want to meet Subaru. Usually this would be the usual banter for Ram and Subaru but Subaru only agreed with her seriously , this response narrowed Ram's eyes, Emilia's smile turned to a frown , squeezing his hands. Beatrice rubbed her forehead , Rem sighed with a "haaaa", Otto shaking his head in disappointment and Garfield nodded his, as if he knew this would happen.
Everyone's response just confused Subaru, asking what was wrong, but only Rem , Emilia and Beatrice answered with nothing is wrong , leaving him more confused. This was an issue that he was still facing, he was more confident in himself after his time in Vollachia but he still cannot see all that he was worth , frustrating Emilia , She wanted him to understand that people like and value him but it needs to be taken one step at a step, she sighed , hoping that they would be at peace for awhile so they could help Subaru with this.
*On the eve of the party*
"Emilia , do you not need to help Subaru , in fact ?"
Emilia turned to the one that called out to her , looking at Emilia was Beatrice , Subaru's beloved contracted spirit.
Emilia , who was standing on the balcony at the mansion , looked inside, Subaru was surrounded by various different nobles talking to him, all of them were crowding onto him while he looked really troubled , he was trying to get a word edge in , but just the sheer amount of questions they were throwing at him just overwhelmed him, but he had support , Rem was standing there smiling and telling something to the nobles , making them step back slightly and then keeping quiet.
Subaru could be seen smiling happily with Rem beside him sighing which turned into a small smile.
".hm,..well Rem seems to be helping out just in fine , so i don't think i need to be there yet"
"...Are you sure, in fact ? betty think Subaru would like it if you are there as well, i suppose"
"It's ok , Subaru did not get to spend much time with Rem alone when she got her memories back right ? i think i do not want to interrupt them for now"
"...are you sure ? Rem is like your rival, in fact, if Subaru spends all his time with Rem , he might only focus only on Rem, i suppose"
"Hmm ... .i don't know what you mean by rival but Subaru will never focus only on Rem , he will definitely pay attention to me as well. It was like this back in Vollachia right ? when he was attentive to the both of us"
"Good grief i suppose , Subaru really has his work cut out for him ,in fact"

Beatrice then stood beside Emilia , looking at Subaru , she turned back to face him , seeing him pointing at her excitedly, most of the nobles were smiling, however one of them had a frown on his face , he opened his mouth and said something , turning the others that were near him to widened their eyes and step back abit , Subaru expression slowly turned from excitement to anger and he grabbed one that nobel's collar , Rem reacted and held Subaru back , though her expression showed that she wasn't really happy either.
"Oh no"
"Oh no, in fact"
Both of them quickly got to Subaru , after getting into ear shot distance , they could hear him angrily asking
"-at again ?! how dare you say that ?!"
"Subaru , i understand your feelings as well but please relax , laying your hands on him..no matter how disgusting he is won't solve anything"
"Tsk…but Rem-...ah..Emilia"
The moment he said that , Emilia could tell , Subaru was really upset and angry, whenever she was called without [Tan] , she knew that he was really serious , it was a nickname that she felt was weird at first but grew to love as time went on, it felt special to her , one that only Subaru specially called her and no one else, she felt the pain of how important the nickname was to her when Subaru called her Emilia-[Chan] when he lost his memories.
"Subaru , what's wrong ?"
Subaru , glanced at her , his dark eyes wavering, she could tell that he was angry ,angry for her, it made her happy , Subaru would always stand up for her and would always be angry for her, even though she felt it was not needed at times.
"Emilia-sama , this…man right here was insulting you , asking why would a person like Subaru status would ever serve a half,...devil like you and he should just quit to save his face and serve someone more deserving of his status, like Anatasia-sama"
Rem answered before Subaru could , her voice full of disdain , with each word spoken , her tone grew colder.
Emilia furrowed her eye-brown , insulting her was one thing, but to tell Subaru to serve someone else upsetted her. Subaru was her knight , he belonged to her and only her and not to mention how rude he was telling Subaru this when he was inside their mansion they were living in.
"And what is wrong with what I said ?! Natsuki-sama should be serving someone that truly deserves him ! his achievements , his status as a hero is being ruined by this..half-devil !
Can you imagine how much more he could achieve if he had Anatasia-sama connection ?! Just imagining him being in this…camp , his potential is being wasted ! His title of hero ! just because of this half-de-"
Bellowed the nobel with fervor that Subaru was grabbing onto , Subaru got more and more pissed and Rem seemingly looks to be more disinterested in holding back Subaru, the other nobles near the one that shouted slowly moved away , fear in their eyes , leaving a circle of empty space around the members of the camp and the nobel.
"Shut up ! What half-devil ?! she's a half elf ! get your shit together and get out of my sight , to think u ask her knight to serve someone else…why are you even here !"
Subaru pushed him away and shouted at him , attracting more attention from the rest of the party , they were slowly crowding onto them and watching them.
Emilia looked around and wanted to step forward to stop the fight , she knew Subaru wasnt the same Subaru at the capital, but she was somewhat worried. She hadn't seen him this angry in a long time and she was worried he would do something he would later regret or have dire consequences.
But Beatrice stopped her by holding her hand.
"Just watch ,I suppose. Let Subaru speak and watch him , now isnt your time to jump in , in fact"
"What are you saying Natsuki-sama ?! I am here to help you ! you are being wasted here ! Natsuki-sama , u saved my family in Priestella , my only wish is to help you become someone you deserve to be ! I owe you this much for what you have done !"
Subaru's eyes widened at the nobel , then took a glance towards Emilia , his eyes full of different emotions , but the main thing she could tell was regret , Emilia tilted her in confusion , she had to ask him about this later.
Subaru took a deep breath , seemingly to calm down , Rem , noticing this , took a step aside and then look over Subaru
"...that feeling of yours..i understand it well..too well"
The nobel eye's open in excitement
"The-"
"Don't get me wrong"
Subaru glared at him.
"Just because I understand you , does not mean I agree with what you are trying to do…ignoring my feelings…pretending to know what I need , the me that you see , the me that you think deserve more , does not exist. The only reason i am standing here , the only thing i ever wanted is has not changed all this time , the only title I need is the title of being Emila's knight , if the title of a hero means leaving her , i would discard everything and only keep my title as a knight for Emilia. She was the one who made me into who i am today , without her i wont be here so, while you have good intentions , don't push whoever you i thought i would be on me , the place i belong is with Emilia''
Subaru finished , arms crossed , his facial expression softened , his feelings obviously cooled down.

Thump
Ahhh , what warmth Emilia was feeling , her heart beat furiously , she did not know of what she was feeling but she wanted to go up to Subaru and do something for him, she did not know what, hug him ? hold him ? All she knew was she truly felt lucky to have Subaru as her knight.
She slowly step forward with a smile but was interrupted by the other nobles shouting and rushing towards him
"Eh ? eh ?"
"...good lord , in fact"
Emilia, confused, took a step back and was taken aback by the sudden outburst of people rushing towards him , Beatrice just sighed and closed her eyes.
Subaru himself was surprised , saying "eh eh eh ? what's going on ?!" as the crowd closed onto him , all of them were trying to get a chance to say something to him , Rem herself was pushed out and had a look of irritation , she saw Emilia and Beatrice and walk to them
"Emilia-sama"
"How many times do I have to say it, Rem ? just Emilia is fine , afterall , we are more than just maid and master right !"
Emilia puffed her cheeks , Rem was still acting distant with her , even when she got her memories back and had a talk with Emilia regarding their future interaction and how they should deal with Subaru…considering Subaru has Emilia that he loved both of them.
When Rem heard this , she sighed with a "haa." but had a red tinge on her cheeks. When Emilia saw this , she was somewhat glad , knowing that even though Rem acted more like this , she could tell Rem still really liked Subaru.
The talk on how to deal with Subaru ended after Rem said
"Emilia , it's best if you learn of your feelings first , then we can talk about it easier"
Emilia tilted her head , "what feelings ?" was what she wanted to ask but couldn't since Rem left the room to find Ram.
"Emilia..sama , i think its best that i still refer to you like this in a huge event…seeing a maid refer to their master by their name alone won't look good on us Emilia-sama"
"Ehhhh I think it's fine though ? wouldn't it be better if they knew how well a maid and master get along well ? That's what Anatasia and Felt said, right ?"
"...i believe the other royal candidate are unique on their own ways , that isn't a common sentiment among the other nobles"
Rem smiled bitterly and Emilia pouted. She understood what Rem was saying but she didn't really want to follow those kinds of rules, she wanted to proudly tell the nobel Rem was a good friend of hers , but she knew Rem would deny it but reaffirm it in private , sadly it looks like going public will take awhile. Perhaps once she becomes queen it would change.
"Well…Emilia-sama , are you not going to do anything about…that ?"
She said , gesturing to Subaru who had a troubled expression as the nobles are talking over one another to talk to Subaru.
"Hmm..well..they aren't going to do anything bad to him right 3? it should be fine ?"
"...Even though most of the ones close to him are women ?"
"Hmm ?"
Saying this , Emilia focused on who was crowding on Subaru more..most of them who were really close to him really were women. Narrowing her eyes , she saw some of them grabbing his arm and getting really close to him , a feeling of discomfort rise up in her chest , she felt unhappy when she saw that , she didn't know why , but she knew it was the same feeling that she had when she saw Shuala getting close to Subaru , unknowingly , she tighten her grip on Beatrice hand
Beatrice and Rem were waiting for Emilia to say anything , but she didnt know what to say , she so slowly started walking to Subaru , no sure why when she was ok with leaving him alone just moment ago
Subaru looked quite…uncomfortable , he was…nicely pushing away the women that were holding onto him , he then spotted Emilia and his face lit up , warming Emilia , he then said something to the women , who looked unhappy as he happily went over to Emilia
"ahh…Emilia-tan , Beako , Rem , thank god you are here , that was really getting uncomfortable"
"Suba-"
"Ahhhh ! Subaru-sama ! please don't run away ! i wasn't done talking !"
A woman interrupted Emilia , most of them back off already but a few still went up to Subaru.
"Geh , sorry i have something to talk to Emilia-tan about"
"Ahhh ! That is perfectly fine ! I have something to ask of Emilia-sama as well !"
"Eh me ?"
"Yes Emilia-sama ! Is it ok if I married Natsuki-sama ?!"
"Wha ?!"
Emilia and Rem froze , their eyes widening , Emilia couldn't compute what was said , Marriage ? her and Subaru ? Beatrice just frown and crossed her arms
"What makes you think you are worthy of being Subaru's partner, I suppose ?"
"Ahhh Beatrice-sama ! My family is one of the most influential family in the whole of Lugunica , our family has supported the Queen for years and my brother's company is one of the largest weapon dealers in the country ! I believe with my support , Natsuki-sama can fulfill his wish of pushing Emilia-sama to the throne easier !"
"...if that is the case , then why do you need to marry Subaru ? if you want to support him , you can without marrying him can't you ?"
Rem , snapping out of her frozen trance asked the nobel , with a slightly aggressive tone
The nobel , however , not seeming to mind it or noticing the tone , answered with
'Of course , i could but…Subaru-sama has proven time and time again that he is a very desirable man , after all , while he could get anything he wanted from the king of Vollachia , all he wanted was peace , that level of selflessness is unheard of , not to mention , all of his achievement ! a person like Natsuki-sama comes once in a lifetime , no , once a few thousand years ! Not to mention…he is my type , he has unique features that really stand out nicely , his sharp eyes that soften is always nice to look at and his body…is..good to look at as well"
The nobel looked up and down on Subaru , studying him , this caused Subaru to blush deeply , Emilia noticing this , discomfort and pain rising up more in her chest , she frowned and stepped forward , grabbing his hand and pulled him to her , surprisingly everyone.
"Em-Emilia-tan ?"
The noble's eyes widened and she smiled
"Even he is very much appreciated by the person he is serving ! Do not worry Emilia-sama , I do not plan on removing him from your camp , all I am asking for is to get married to Natsuki-sama ! I will move into the mansion and be with him together , so he won't be moving at all , I will also treat your knight good, Emilia-sama !"
"..i sense a misunderstanding, i suppose"
"..I agree beatrice-sama…"
Beatrice and Rem whispered to each other , Emilia thought it wasn't intended but she could hear them , but it seems Subaru and the noble did not hear them.
Emilia was feeling really upset , she did not know why , but all she knew was..she didnt like Subaru being with her , it was this feeling she rarely had , she did not know what it was.

The silence seem to give the noble some idea , as if Emilia was considering it , She smiled and looked at Subaru , who looked troubled

"Ah , sorry but…i have to reject you there"
"Eh ?! Why Natsuki-sama ? I think I am a pretty good catch, you know !"
Subaru scratched his cheeks and squeezed Emilia's hand , the warmth Subaru's hand comforted her and…the discomfort and unease slowly died abit.
"...well…it's easy , because i am in love with Emilia-tan right here"
He said smiling , raising the hand that was holding onto Emilia's , Emilia blushed.
The nobel put a hand on her chin and studied the both of them , her facial expression turned serious and asked
"..Natsuki-sama , you understand that the one…you are in love with is a royal candidate right ?"
"Yeah"
"And..She might not answer your love right ?"
"Yeah"
"...and it might take years due to the royal candidacy period ?"
"Yeah"
"...are you for certain Natsuki-sama ? if she did become Queen..she..might have to get married for politics you know ?"
Subaru winched , but Emilia , full of confidence , after hearing Subaru reaffirmation of his love for her again , answered
"I won't"
"Ho ? and why would that be Emilia-sama ?"
"I will only get married to the person i pick , so i wont get married to anyone willy-nilly"
Saying that , her eyes unconsciously drifted to Subaru , her feelings for Subaru…were complicated to say the least , she was definitely happy that he was beside her , fully stating his love , but the topic of marriage…was something she did not think much about , how..would she feel about Subaru getting married…?
"Who says willy-nilly…these days..oh wait , people still do"
Subaru scratched his cheeks again , though he seem to be slightly delighted to hear what Emilia had said
The nobel looked at the both of them and cross her arms , then sighed
"Alright , I understand , Natsuki-sama , you truly are a loyal one aren't you ?...but i won't give up Natsuki-sama !"
"...i prefer it if you do though"
"No , no , Natsuki-sama is too much of a good catch , afterall…while you are in love with Emilia-sama , theres a chance your love can shift , even more so when you are single and young , dont underestimate me"
She nobel said , puffing her chest out , a smug look on her face , she stepped forward and held out her hand.
"Well , i might not capture your heart yet , i will one day do so , since you are single afterall. In the meantime , i will put my full support for the Emilia camp anyway"
Subaru reach out and shook her hand
"...as much as I appreciate it , why do you want to help our camp so much despite my rejection ?"
She winked at him
"It is you after all , Natsuki-sama"
She then suddenly pulled him towards her , Subaru surprised , let go of Emilia's hand who let out an "ah" , then planted a kiss on Subaru cheeks , stunning the rest of them.
"That's my declaration of war on you , Emilia-sama"
She stuck out her tongue and walked quickly away , leaving the rest stunned.
Subaru silently put a hand on his cheek , which was red.
Rem , with a unhappy face went up and pinch the cheeks that was kissed
"Ah..Rem-san ? it hurrrts"
"I know"
"Ah ! please dont pull harder Re- Ah ! Emilia-tan ! not you too!"
"..."
"Peasw sua sumth Emiila-tawn"
Some tears were coming out of Subaru's face as both Rem and Emilia pinched his cheeks hard. Emilia was really unhappy , she felt pain in her heart , she knew Subaru wasn't at fault but pinching her cheeks is all she could do at the moment , she pouted at him.
'Sigh…Subaru is truly a sinful man , i suppose , but that is to be expected of betty's partner , in fact"
"Hewlp mew !"
"Yes yes , please stop pinching him , in fact , even though he had the look of a pervert with that kiss , i suppose"

While Emilia was unsatisfied ,she let go , continuing to pout at Subaru , he turned to face her

Beatrice led Subaru by the hand away , most likely to the toilet to clean his face up and heal him from the redness that Rem and Emilia did to his cheeks.
"Emilia-sama…are you still jealous ?"

Rem's eyes widened
"...were you not aware ?"
"Eh ? about what ?"
"The feelings you had just now ?"

Rem put a hand on her forehead

Emilia furrowed her eye brown , she tried imagining Subaru with that woman just now…she felt upset.

She imagined Subaru and that woman in a wedding dress , her kissing him and him enjoy it , then she imagined Subaru holding her baby in his arms , saying goodbye to Emilia hugging onto that woman.
Pain and discomfort rise up her in chest , she disliked having this feelings , it was one that she rarely felt and it was something she didn't know what it is , imagining all of that was the worst feelings for her , she tense up , Rem looked at her silently and closed her eyes
"Emilia-sama , your tears are leaking."
"Eh ? ah sorry , eh ? why…."
"Emilia-sama….what you are feeling now is jealousy"

"I am quite surprised that you don't know this feeling , though i do suppose Subaru always poured all of his attention to you so you rarely feel it"
Rem replied bitterly
"Eh ? i do think he gives you a lot of attention as well though ?"
"...yes i apologize , he also does give me attention as well…but when you see him with me , do you not feel anything ?"
Emilia tilted her head
"Not really…? Subaru always told me that you are too important to him , so i guess its natural for me to see him with you , afterall , he said he cannot live without you"
"...seriously Subaru , that is unfair of you….haaa"
Rem's cheek flushed and a smile naturally form on her face. Seeing that , Emilia too smiled.
"Ahh ! , that is a cute smile , Subaru is right ! you should smile more often like that"
"Please dont tease me Emilia-sama , back to what i was saying…Emilia-sama , does it not feel terrible when u feel jealous"
"Yeah… i do"
"Do you know why ?"
"...no , sorry"
"...maybe you should think harder , try imagining Subaru doing all of that with you instead , i shall take my leave first Emilia-sama"
Saying that , Rem went inside , leaving Emilia alone with her thoughts , just like she said , she tried imagining her with Subaru instead of that noble woman
…The thoughts of marrying Subaru instantly made her heat up , the thoughts of Subaru holding his baby…their baby…made her smile happily , the thought of Subaru calling her more then just Emilia-tan…maybe calling her his wife. She squatted down in embarrassment , her heart beating like crazy , her cheeks extremely red and a huge grin on her lips. She tried calling down , but imagining more of that type of situation just brought her huge happiness. She tried understanding the situation , she thought of different people who could be in the same situation as her and the one that came to mind the easiest…was Petra
She knew Petra loved Subaru , but…the way she acted around Subaru , when he praised her , the way she always looked for him , always had a smile on her face when she saw him and always shyly get excited when people told her she and Subaru looked close. She realized…if she was in the same situation as Petra…she would be too
It was then, She realized , the feeling she had for Subaru for so long..was love..why did it take so long for her to realize it ? Was it because she didn't try to understand it ? was it because…she didn't had a chance to ? Because how often Subaru always only put her as his first , as Rem stated ? or was it because…she didn't want to understand something she did not know ? All she knew now was the love she had for Subaru , was something that was not common..she thought of everything he did together with her and tried realizing when was it that she fell for him , she racked her head and there was a single point where she knew her heart throb like it did now. It was the first date that she had with him , when he first placed the flower crown on her and gave her a spectacular view that till now she remembered
"...no way…since then ?"
"...i am in love with Subaru.."
The moment she said that , her chest which she didn't know could beat faster , beat faster. She tried breathing in and out , but moments where Subaru confessed to her , complimented her , held her hand , hugged her and most importantly…the moment when he kissed her in the Sanctuary all rushed in head and the effects were tenfold. The happiness she got overwhelmed her and she just giggled to herself.
"Heheheh-... ahhh no good , no good , i need to get a hold myself- heheheh"
Slapping her cheeks didnt help , she was just overwhelmed with her new profound feelings of love , she realized she did a lot of things to Subaru that would be considered lovers- like or when she thought of how much Subaru affection was given to her and how much he always prioritized her , it just filled her with gratitude and happiness.
"..Emilia-tan is something wrong ?"
"AH !"
Emilia jumped up , the voice she heard was Subaru's , the cheerful voice that always brought her comfort had a different feeling to her now , it sent her heart racing and she turned around , spotting Subaru she started massively blushing. The face that always calm her down , the eyes that was familiar to her…all felt know new , a feeling of excitement was running through her body.
"Whoa your face is really red , are you feeling ok Emilia-tan ?"
He went up and put his hand on her forehead , Sending a jolt through her body
"Eck !"
"Whoa ?! your forehead is hot ! i think you are having a fever , come on lets bring you to Rem , she can heal you first then you can rest , wa Emilia-tan your hand is really hot as well !"
"Ah…."
She couldnt say anything , all she could do is freeze up when Subaru held her hand and pulled her to Rem. All she could think of the moment was how happy she was and how warm his hand was.
They soon reached both Rem and Beatrice , who were together , when they spotted Subaru and Emilia together , Beatrice noticed how Emilia was looking and raised an eye-brown , while Rem narrowed her eyes.
'Ah Rem , can you take a look at Emilia-tan ? i think she has the colds"
"..is that so ?"
Rem stood forward and put her hand on Emilia's forehead , but it was clear she didnt believe it , she looked at Emilia who was still furiously blushing and the corner of her lips tug up.

Rem smiled wrly , While Subaru and Beatrice just look at them , confused
"What , what's up Rem ? Is Emilia-tan ok ?"
"Well..she will be fine , but can you help us take some water Subaru ?"
"Ahhh , got it"
Saying that , he went off
"..now that Subaru is gone , i suppose, what is happening ,in fact ?"
Beatrice asked , folding her arms and looking at the both of them
"Beatrice-sama , lets say Emilia-sama finally..search her feelings"
"...is that really true , I suppose ? i guess that furious blushing you had isn't because you had a fever , but because you were holding Subaru's hand ? in fact"
"I…i…"
"Pff , it is cute seeing you that way Emilia , i suppose , well it's ok , i understand now , the talk you had with Rem allowed you to find it , i applaud you Rem , good job , in fact"
"The pleasure is all mine Beatrice-sama"
"Ahhh , please don't tease me , two of you !"
"It can't be helped , i suppose , seeing you furiously blushing and acting all lovey dovey is new sight , in fact"
"I agree with Beatrice-sama , that face on your face looks lovely Emilia-sama"

Emilia could only let out a grunt , in the face of the 2 people who were laughing at how adorable she looked , the conversation did help her calm down , her heart started beating calmly again and she could think better.
"Here's the water , ah Emilia-tan , u look better already ! Thanks Rem ! water for the both of you as well , Rem , Beako"
"I didnt do anything , and thank you for taking the water Subaru , you are thoughtful as always"
"Thank you Subaru…"
"Hhmm , as expected of you , i suppose"
"...i dont know about you guys but i feel exhausted from the amount of people chasing after me even just for taking some water.."
"Please bear with it Subaru , After all this is your party after all"
"..yea i do get it Rem but…"
Subaru scratch his head , then from behind him , a few noble woman came up again , excitedly looking at Subaru , this time though , Emilia felt Jealous , she understood what it meant now , the feeling in her chest , and she didn't want them near Subaru , he was hers after all.
She walked and grabbed Subaru's arm , pressing it against her chest , causing Subaru to blush instantly
"E-Emilia-tan ?!"
"Sorry…but I have things to settle with my knight , is it ok if you guys look for him later ?"
Emilia said , giving them a smile.
This however , somehow excited the nobles even more they look at them , then at each other then bowed and said
"Thank you for the delicious meal "
"Ahhhh what a great story !"
"Please do not worry Emilia-sama ! we will make sure no one else will disturb you for the rest of the night !"
"We will support the Emilia camp !"
Then they all went off excitedly , chatting among themselves , leaving the baffled Emilia with the embarrassed Subaru who was looking down , Rem and Beatrice grinning to themselves.
"uhm…Emilia-tan…can you let go ?"
"...do you not like it Subaru ?"
"No , NOPE , i enjoy it very much , if anything this is a huge reward for me but it is..embarrassing in front of everyone"
Hearing that pleased Emilia , she really did like his blushing face , the meek him that was a strong contrast to his usual personality was something she found really cute , she wanted to see more of the meek side of him , a side she rarely ever saw.
She purposefully grabbed his arm tighter , pushing it further into her chest
"EH ! Emilia-tan ?!"
"..consider this your reward for the night , i won't be letting go Subaru"
"Ah…uh…"
Hearing that , Subaru went speechless and just looked down. The blush on his face went from red to extremely beef red. Emilia loved it , she just wanted to spend the whole night with him and see how long it would take for him to push her arm away.
"..please excuse us , Subaru and Emilia-sama , Beatrice-sama has told me and she feels tired and would like me to help her with something"
"Eh ! Beako ! Rem ?! please dont leave me !"
"Sorry Subaru , Betty is tired, in fact . Enjoy your time with Emilia , i suppose"
"Eh ? Eh ? eh ? eh?"
Leaving the confused Subaru behind , the pair gave Emilia a smug look and walked away , Emilia understanding this look , smiled at the both of them , grateful that they are leaving her and Subaru alone to spend time together.
"Well then , my knight"
"Ye-yes Emilia-tan ?"
"Let's enjoy the night shall we ?"
Saying that , Emilia gave Subaru an extremely cute smile , one that Subaru saw and just stared.
"What's wrong Subaru ?"
"...nothing , it's just your smile is always enchanting Emilia-tan , truly EMT"
"Dummy"
And the night was spent with Emilia and Subaru mostly alone. Emilia truly enjoyed the time with Subaru and really loved the time spent with him. It was a celebration for Subaru but it felt like it was for Emilia with how happy she was.
*back to present*
"...and that's how i found out i really loved him"
Emilia finished , her face had a huge smile. Kenichi and Naoko felt like they were hearing a love story drama , it was extremely adorable and hearing how jealous Emilia was when a noble woman was trying to flirt with Subaru was really cute , though they did wonder , they heard the name of Rem from Julius earlier in the day , something about Rem asking and Subaru being unable to decline her request and Beatrice.
"Emilia-chan , who is Rem and Beatrice ?"
Naoko asked , Emilia wanted to reply but a knock on the door stopped her
"Sorry to interrupt Naoko-sama , Kenichi-sama , Emilia-sama , but it is getting late already , perhaps the conversation can continue tomorrow ?"
Julius voiced from the door asked , everyone in the room looked out and saw that it was night time already , they were so engrossed with the story that they didnt notice the time again.
"Ahh ! ok thank you Julius ! sorry for taking so long of your time , Mother , Father"
"Its alright , Emilia-chan , we enjoyed what you were telling us , please rest well and see you tomorrow !"
"Ok ! rest well !"
Saying that , Emilia waved them off went out of the room with Julius bowing to them and they were left alone
"...what a day it has been hasn't it Naoko ?"
"...yes..we truly learn a lot of our son..in these 2 years he truly has became someone of an important position..and to think he found such a cute girl , and the girl loved him as well , what good luck"
"Ahh , but there is a person called Rem too right ? it seems that she's quite close to Emilia and Subaru "
"...well we will see them tomorrow right ? lets just take a bath and sleep early tonight..it has been exhausting"
"Yes i agree"
They went to the bath , it was like the out door bath that you see in inns , but it was just for this room specifically , they knew the inn was styled like the ones in japan but to think it could be replicated with the bath as well, they were impressed.
After bathing , they changed into the yukata that were given by the inn members. It felt really expensive , while awkward. They didn't have other pair of clothing , so they wore it and took out the futon , and they lie on it.
It was the first time in 2 years that they felt like they could look forward to tomorrow , a tomorrow that seem bright , even though they didn't have anything with them or to their name , their old acquaintance and valuables were gone , they still felt excited , knowing that each day going bye means being able to see Subaru again , but if Subaru was transported here alone…how did he feel ? they know he missed them but..they wanted to know everything from his perspective ,
Thinking of their son while in comfort , their mind slowly wandered and soon , they fell asleep , awaiting the next day that would shine brightly on them.
