When Henry's walked in he found both his grandchild and his son drifting, with Frank holding Jamie's small hand in his bigger one. The scene in front of him just broke Henry's heart. He came over to the bed and gave Jamie's forehead a kiss. He once again thanked God and his late wife for keeping eye on him. He then took a seat next to Jamie's bed, opposite to Frank. Henry was just sitting there in a silence, watching over his family.
After a while his son started to shiver waking up.
"Morning, Francis," his father greeted him, giving his son a small smile.
"Pop, how long have you been here?" Frank asked stretching his stiffed back.
"About half an hour, I guess," Henry said to him.
Frank stood up and slowly came over to Jamie and ran his fingers through his brown hair, sighing heavily.
"So, how is he, Francis?" Henry wanted to know giving his son inquiring look.
"He is much better now," Frank replied, not letting his sight off Jamie's sleeping form.
"His temperature is now at 101,3, so he is out of danger." He continued.
"Thank God for that," Henry said, glad that Jamie was going to be ok.
"Naturally they want to keep him here till he is fever free and till his breathing improves," Frank informed his father still stroking his son's hair.
"Frank, have you told Mary about Jamie, yet?" His father asked.
"Yes, I have," he admitted.
"How did she take it?"
"Well, she is on her way here. She will be here in couple of hours." Frank told his father avoiding his look.
"You haven't told her, have you?" Henry asked.
"I told her that our son was in a hospital and that he is going to be fine. I didn't lie. What I didn't tell her was, that we could have lost him," Frank sighed, tears filling his eyes.
And "why wouldn't you tell her?" Henry wanted to know.
"Because she didn't need to know!" Frank replied firmly.
"Francis, I understand that you are protecting your wife, I do, but I'm worried about you." Henry said in a low voice.
"I'm Ok, pop," Frank shook his head.
"Are you? Because you don't look Ok to me," Henry shook his head doubtfully.
"Seriously, pop, I will be OK," Frank reassured him.
"Ok then, but if you ever needed to talk to someone, you can always come to me. You know that, right?" Henry asked.
"I know that, pop," Frank gave him tired smile.
"Alright," said Henry, gently stroking Jamie's hair.

It was already late afternoon, when Jamie woke up again. Henry has left to pick up the other kids from school to bring them to visit their younger brother then. Frank was just staring blankly out of window, when he heard low voice calling him.
"Daddy," Jamie whispered to get his father's attention.
"Jamie! Hey, there! How do you feel?" Frank wanted to know.
"My throat hurts," Jamie admitted.
"I know, but I'm afraid it will hurt a bit for another few days at least," his father stated.
"But I don't want my throat to hurt anymore," Jamie protested stubbornly.
"Yeah, neither do I, but that will depend on how fast will you get better," Frank couldn't help but laugh, seeing his son obviously doing much better than the night before.
"That sucks, " Jamie replied, his eyes wide open staring at his beloved daddy.
"Jameson, where did you hear that?" Frank asked, but to be honest, he knew the answer already.
"I heard Danny to say that," Jamie admitted cheerfully.
"I guess, I will have to have to talk with your brother," Frank stated firmly pretending to be a bit angry with his children's choice of vocabularies, but honestly he was just too happy to see Jamie was going to be alright. He leaned over to his youngest and embraced his small body into a hug. He could feel his eyes filling up with tears. His baby was going to be ok.
"Where are the others," asked Jamie, looking around the room in search for his siblings.
"Actually, grandpa just went to pick them up from school so they can visit you later," Frank assured him.
"Where is mummy?" Jamie wanted to know.
"She will be here soon too," Frank pointed out not letting his sight off Jamie for a second.
"I'm thirsty," Jamie said.
"Ok, why don't you have some of the tea," Frank suggested handing his son a cup of tea a nurse had brought while Jamie was asleep.
Jamie took the tea and drank it thirstily. When he was done, his father took the empty cup from him, placing it back at the bedside stall.
Shortly afterwards Henry and the rest of Reagan's children walked into the room.
"Jamie, " called Joe and Erin simultaneously, running towards his bed.
"Hey kiddo," said Danny who was still standing in the door.
Jamie didn't know where to look first. He shifted his eyes from Erin and Joe you Danny and then you his grandpa, giving them all large smile.
"How do you feel, Jamie?" Erin wanted to know, gently stroking her brother's hair.
"Am ok" Jamie replied. "Although throat hurts a bit," he admitted.
"When can Jamie go home, dad?" Joe asked his father.
"I'm afraid that the doctor wants to keep him here for another few days, just to make sure that everything is OK." Frank explained, rubbing Jamie's back.
"But I want to go home with all of you," Jamie protested. "I don't want to be here," he added firmly.
"I'm afraid you don't have a choice, son." Frank informed Jamie. "But don't worry, either I or your mother will stay with you the whole time, so you won't be alone," Frank quickly added when he saw his son's sad face.
"Is mum coming home early?" Joe asked.
"Yeah, she is. She should be here quite soon," Frank said to his children.
After a while Henry took the kids home, although they didn't want to leave their little brother, especially Joe. He wanted to stay in the hospital with Jamie and his dad. But Frank, knowing how to deal with Joe, asked him to be a good boy and go home with grandpa. He also promised him that he can visit Jamie the next day. After that Joe reluctantly agreed to go home with Henry and his other siblings, giving Jamie one last look. It broke Frank's heart to see the sadness in Joe's eyes when leaving Jamie, those two were simply inseparable. But then something else happened, Frank did not see coming. Just when he was about to leave the room, Danny told his grandfather to go ahead to the car and that he will catch up with them there. He turned back and walked towards Jamie's bed pulling something out of his backpack. It took a second for Frank to realize what it was. Danny has brought Jamie his favorite teddy bear called Grumpy. Actually, it was originally Danny's bear and it was him who gave the bear this name, but when Jamie was small he felt in love with Danny's bear and Danny, after being reluctant at first, gave it to Jamie and since then Jamie spend every single night with Danny's Grumpy.
Danny approached the bed and said: "Look, Jamie, who have I brought to you." Danny gave the bear to surprised Jamie.
"Grumpy!" Jamie cried out fiery, taking the bear from Danny, pulling him into embrace.
"That's right, it's Grumpy. He will be here watching after you for me," Danny stated kissing Jamie on the top of his head.
Frank just looked at his boys happily. He once again was happy to have Danny, because he himself naturally forgot to bring Grumpy with him, when he was bringing Jamie to the hospital last night.
Danny said goodbye to his brother and father and left the room to go home with the others. Frank looked at his watch. It was already five o'clock in the afternoon. Marry has been probably stuck in one of those traffic jams so typical for New York. He looked back at his youngest who, although he was now happily playing with Grumpy, looked a bit tired. Frank thought it would be best if Jamie took a nap, so he could get some rest. He asked Jamie: "Jamie, don't you want to take a nap? You look bit tired, son." He suggested.
"No, I want to play with Grumpy now," Jamie replied.
"Well, maybe Grumpy wants to take a nap, because it has been a long day for him." Frank tried to convince his boy that he should really try to get some sleep.
"But dad, Grumpy is a teddy bear, he doesn't need to rest." Jamie told his father.
"Ok, then. And what about if your father needed a nap?" Frank asked wondering when the trick with Grumpy stopped work.
"Then, you can take a nap with me and Grumpy in our bed," Jamie suggested to his father.
"Oh, you would let me share your bed?" Frank chuckled. "I have got one good son, haven't I?" He laughed.
"You can share a bed with us, because you are my favourite dad," Jamie stated.
"Do you have any other dad, Jamie? The one which is not your favorite?" Frank asked Jamie joking.
"No, but you are still my favorite, because you are my beloved daddy," Jamie assured his father wisely.
"And you are my beloved son," said Frank kissing Jamie on his head.
"But you have to read us a fairy tale, if you want to share a bed with me and Grumpy," Jamie stated firmly, pointing to the pile of books Henry brought for him.
Frank laughed. "You have got excellent negotiating skills, you could be a lawyer one day," he suggested, taking one of the books from the pile while he was sitting down on the edge of the bed so he could stretch out next to Jamie.
"No, I don't want to be a lawyer, I want to be a cop," Jamie protested.
"And why would you like to be a cop, Jamie?" Frank wanted to know.
"So I could be like you and grandpa!" Jamie said enthusiastically.
"And why would you like to be like me and grandpa?" Frank asked further.
"Because I want to help people like you do." Jamie announced.
Frank once again could not help himself but to give his son a kiss. "My boy, so little, and you already have a heart of gold," he said, giving Jamie loving look.
He placed his hand under Jamie's back and embraced him.
"Now, where were we?" Frank asked opening the book he chose.
"Once upon a time, there..." Frank started reading. After a while both of them where drifting in a peaceful sleep and that's how Marry found them, when she walked in thirty minutes later. She originally wanted to set the record straight with Frank, but when she saw her two men sleeping peacefully in a loving embrace, she instantly forgave Frank for not letting her know earlier that Jamie was sick. She walked towards the bed and kissed Jamie first and then she kissed her husband.
