Chapter 2
A Little Earlier…
Somewhere in the city, Zelda is lying on the ground unconscious in the alley. Her clothes are still soaking wet from being dragged in the whirlpool and feels a chill. Zelda lets out a grunt and groans from exhaustion. Suddenly, Zelda feels something brushing against her cheek. The young woman opens her eyes to reveal Kai's scaly face.
"K-Kai…" Zelda softly says.
Zelda soon lets out another groan as she tries to feel the movement of her body. Able to move her hands and arms, Zelda pushes herself into a sitting position.
Zelda rubs her head, "Wh-what happened…" and tries to remember what happened, "Kai slithered off, and I found him in a cave, a strange light appeared in the center of the cave and I tried to get a better look. Then the thing glowed and a whirlpool appeared…" She gasps in shock and remembers how she and Kai end up getting sucked in the portal.
Zelda then looks around to notice she is in some kind of alley, and not inside a watery grave.
"What is this place… did the whirlpool send somewhere…" Zelda says to herself, "And looks at herself, "Or… did I drown after falling in the whirlpool."
Zelda then touches her heart and feels it beating in her chest. She also touches the neck and wrist to feel her pulse. Luckily, she's able to feel the pulse and her heart beating, meaning that she's alive.
"I don't believe it. I'm… I'm still alive… How did I survive that whirlpool?" Zelda says to herself in shock.
She then touches Kai and feels his heart beating and since he's moving, she can tell that he's alive as well.
Zelda sighs in relief, "Thank goodness. We're both still alive, and don't seem to suffer any damages."
Zelda looks around and wonders, "Where are we…?"
Zelda places Kai on her shoulders and he sithers his body around her neck, to be like a necklace or a choker, allowing him to rest his head on her shoulder. She then picks up her sunhat and places it around her head.
"Let's see where we ended up," Zelda says to herself.
Zelda then walks out of the alley to get a better view of where she's at. When she exits the alley, Zelda is shocked to see that she and Kai are not in their hometown of Hawaii, and find themselves in a large red colored city. What's more, there doesn't seem to be anyone here, the place seems deserted. The sky is not blue, but is red and it has a large pentagram in the sky.
Zelda looks around and wonders, "What is this place? Where am I?" She takes a deep breath to calm herself down, "Alright Zelda, panicking is not going to help at this point."
She thinks for a minute and says to herself, "Still, that strange lake, the whirlpool, and that light must have caused me to be sucked into whatever this place is." She shakes her head and says, "We need to find out where we are and find a way to get back home."
Zelda then turns to Kai, "Well, we better get going. The sooner we start, the better."
Zelda then leaves the alley and begins to walk around. She looks around to see a lot of red colored buildings, and tall buildings that could be offices, apartments, or some kind of business. She also notices a large clock tower that has the words 'NEXT CLEANSE 000 DAYS.'
"Cleanse? What does that mean?" Zelda mutters to herself.
She looks around, "Still, this city looks really eerie, there doesn't seem to be anyone here."
Suddenly, he hears something and looks up in the sky to see something flies to the center of the pentagram in the sky, and lets out fireworks in the sky.
"What's happening?" Zelda asks herself.
And when that happens, windows open, doors open, and strange creatures begin to walk in the streets as quickly as possible. Zelda soon begins to get shuffled around, but the many strange creatures. The young human woman tries to get through the crowd, trying her best not to freak out of the many different creatures coming out of the buildings and walking along the streets. One of them knocks Zelda on the ground, and she's forced to crawl her way through. Finally Zelda is able to break through as she quickly gets up. When she tries to run from the crowd, she ends up bumping into someone and falls on her bottom.
"Well well, well, what do we have here?" A voice says.
To Zelda, it's strange. The voice sounds like a man talking through a radio or something.
She soon looks up to see that the being seems to look like a slim man, but he's dapper, and round seven feet tall with beige-colored skin, and usually has a broad smile full of sharp, yellow teeth. He sports a pinkish-red cropped, angled bob-cut with black tips at the ends and two large, black tipped tufts of hair extending from the top of his head, evoking the ears of a deer. The style has an undercut at the back, and two small black antlers protruding from the crown. His eyes have dark-red sclerae, bright-red irises and thin black pupils. His forearms and lower legs fade to dark gray, and he has red hoofed toes and red fingers. He is wearing a red pinstripe coat with dark-red lapels piped with white, which is ragged along the bottom hem. Underneath this he wears a bright red dress-shirt with a black cross on the chest, and long black dress pants with matching bright red cuffs. He also wears a dark-red oval-shaped monocle, rimmed with black, over his right eye. He accessorizes with a black knotted bowtie with a bright red center, black gloves with red at the fingertips, and black pointed-toe boots with red deer hoofprints emblazoned on the soles. He also carries a thin cane with a sentient vintage style microphone attached to it.
The man reaches his hand towards her, "Are you quite alright, my dear?"
Zelda then gently places her hand on his, and the strange man helps her get back on her feet.
"I'm okay. I'm sorry to bump into you like that. I was trying to get away from the crowd, and was shuffled around," Zelda says, nervously.
"That's quite alright, but do try to be more careful. After the recent Extermination, it can get some demons in quite a tizzy," The man says.
"I see…" Zelda says, sounding unsure.
Kai lifts his head and senses something off. He looks to notice the small antler man and begins hissing as he slithers out towards him and shows off his fangs.
"Kai, don't," Zelda says, pulling him back and trying to calm him down.
She then gently places the snake's head to her chest, not enough to harm him. She has her hand over his body as she gently rubs her fingers on his head, calming him down.
Then Zelda says, "I'm sorry about my pet snake. He gets anxious around strangers."
"Quite alright. From what I can tell, the snake you have seems to want to protect his owner. It's quite brave to try and scare me off of all people," The demon says.
"What…?" Zelda says, confused.
She then calms herself and says, "Well, again, sorry about bumping into you and about Kai getting protective. I better get going." and begins to walk past him.
"Of course, do be careful now, my dear," The demon says.
Zelda continues to walk away as she tries to calm Kai down.
Zelda softly says, "It okay Kai, it's okay. The man's gone now."
Kai soon calms himself down and retracts his fangs. Then rests himself on his owner's shoulders.
Zelda smiles, "Thanks for trying to protect me, but you should be careful of showing your fangs to other people. They won't take kindly to it. Besides, something tells me that this man seems, well, dangerous… And also, something tells me we're not in O'ahu anymore…"
Zelda continues to walk down the sidewalk, unaware that the deer-like man has been staring at her since she walks off.
The man says in thought, "Well, this is certainly a surprise to see a young human like herself in here of all places. However, there is something unique and powerful about her despite her having a human soul. This will certainly be quite entertaining. I would have to keep an eye on her."
Sometime later, Zelda continues to walk down the sidewalk to see the unusual beings walking in the streets. Some seem to look human, but have unusual appearance, others don't seem to look human at all. What's more, she notices the beings seem to do a lot of adult rated stuff, smoking, drinking, murder, stealing, and all kinds of illegal activities. She ends up accidentally witnessing two creatures having sex. She begins so flustered that she hides her face in her hat and rushes off. What's more, some of the creatures try to make a pass on her, but she ignores them and hurries off.
"This place is so weird. What kind of creatures are these? Are they demons? But demons only exist in fantasy? But still, that strange whirlpool and magic seems real enough. But still, where exactly am I," Zelda says to herself in thought.
Suddenly, Zelda hears a scream, followed by a loud thud.
"What was that," Zelda questions.
Zelda walks over and sees a strange blue creature lying on the ground. The creature opens his red eyes and looks at himself in surprise.
The small demon looks at himself as he says in relief, Oh, I'm alive. I'm alive!"
However, it's short lived when a black car drives over him and blood spreads on the street. Zelda flinches and quickly hides in the alley nearby. She then peels out to see the conversation.
Just then, coming out of the car is a slender Spider-like demon, probably around 8 feet tall. His fur is white and he has a mop of fluffy white hair that extends from both the front and back of his head, with splotches of light-pink across it. He also has a distinctive and focal light-pink heart pattern on the back of his head. The light-pink outline of a heart also encircles his chest. He also has two pairs of arms. His eyelids are light pink and the color extends up to his eyebrows, giving the effect of eyeshadow, and his lashes are dark and thick. His irises are cerise pink. His right eye has a light yellow sclera, his left eye has a dark sclera. He has a wide mouth full of sharp, pointed teeth and possesses a single golden fang that sits slightly to his right of center. He has three cerise-pink dots under each of his eyes. He also has a prominent chest that is actually composed entirely of fluffy fur. He is wearing a long light pink suit-blazer with horizontal white stripes down the length, reddish-gray miniskirt, and long reddish-gray thigh-high heeled boots, accessorized with a reddish-gray bowtie with a cerise pink center and a black choker. On his top set of arms he wears long cerise pink gloves with white detailing at the cuffs, on his bottom set of arms he wears long white gloves.
Zelda says in thought, "What is he? He looks almost like a spider or something. And from his appearance, I almost mistook him for a woman."
Just then, a voice appears in the car, "Heh. Thanks for the fun time, hot stuff."
"Yeah, yeah, listen," The spider demon says, leaning inside the car.
He then comes out and closes it.
He brushes off his hair and says, "Keep this discreet, hear me?"
Then leans to the open window of the car, "I can't let it get out that I'm offering my services to randos on the street. It was a quick cash grab, ya got it?"
He then snaps four of his fingers to the demon in the car. In the car is some kind of black own demon. He has his hand with black claws on the steering wheel. He has buttons on his torso, a gray fedora, and a black a bow tie. His face appears lighter shade of gray with his left eye having a black sclera with a red iris in the shape of a heart.
The driver scoffs and says, "Whatever you say, slut!" then laughs.
The spider demon places his hands on his cheeks and dramatically says, "Ouch, ooh, such an insult!"
Then turns to his lower pairs of arms crossed while one arm is on the shoulder and the other on the upper shoulder.
The spider demon approaches the car causing the owl demon to lower his ears, "Let me know when you come up with something creative to call me… You sack of poorly packaged horse shit," and points all four fingers at the spider demon. Then has one pointing to his face. He then grabs the owl demon's tie, "Tell the missus I said hi." And gives him a smooch, "Schnookums," and leaves the car.
Annoyed the demon mutters, "Pack of poor-"
When the car is gone, there is a loud sound of a car squealing. Followed by crashing noises. The spider demon looks at the road with a straight look.
Zelda walks out of the alley and looks rather dumbfounded, "Well, that was an unexpected turn of events… this place is a lot weirder than I imagine."
Unknown to them, the Spider demon ends up hearing and walks towards them.
The Spider-demon asks, "Hey kid, what brings you down here?"
Zelda turns her head to see the Spider-like man approach her.
"Oh hello, what can I do for you?" Zelda says, sounding cautious.
"Hey hey, no need to be scared. I dropped by to say hi, and wondered what a human like yourself was doing in Hell," Angel says.
"I didn't exactly mean to come here, but…" Zelda says, but realizes something, "Wait, did you say Hell?"
"Yep," The spider answers.
"Hell? As in, the underworld? Where demons, forces of evil, and where damned souls ended up?" Zelda asks, shocked.
"That's right," The Spider demon says with a nod.
Zelda groans, "Please tell me that I'm dreaming."
And then out of nowhere, the Spider man pinches her arm.
"Ow!" Zelda yelps and glares at him, "What was that for?"
"To show you that this is no dream, toots," The creature answers.
"I suppose you're right. I've ended up bumping into people and falling down, so I should have woken up by now," Zelda says, growing uneasy about this.
Then looks at the demon, "So, I'm really trapped in a world where demons and sinners roam."
"Yep. That's the breaks, sugar," The demon says, leaning towards Zelda.
Suddenly, Kai slithers his head the demon's face and hisses at him, showing his fangs and fork tongue.
The demon arches his eyebrow and asks, "So, does this snake have rabies?"
"No. Only mammals have rabies. Snakes have other bacterias like Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and other diseases. But not in Kai's case. He just gets wary around strangers, especially towards those who threaten me, so he can get anxious," Zelda says.
"I see. Still, he's actually a cute little guy," The Spider says.
"Thanks," Zelda says. "If you show him your hand, he might not bite."
"Whatever you say," The demon says, and does just that.
Soon, Kai calms down and retracts his fang, and allows his fork-like tongue to lick's the backhand. And then, he nuzzles his forehead at the hand.
Zelda giggles, "It's safe. He does that to let you know that you're okay to touch him and be around him."
"Good to know," The demon says and gently rubs his finger on Kai's scaly head.
Then says, "By the way, the names Angel Dust, and you are?"
"Right. I'm Zelda and this is my pet snake, Kai," Zelda says.
"Pleasure to meetcha," Angel says, "So, you gonna answer my question or what?"
"Oh right," Zelda says, "It's kind of hard to explain, mainly because it happened so fast. I was at a New Years Party on the beach, but Kai slithered off and I found him in a cave with a lake inside. I saw this strange light and tried to get close to it, but it started glowing and somehow the shallow lake turned into a whirlpool so we got sucked in."
"That's weird. Never heard of whirlpool sucking people into Hell. Wonder if Charlie knows about this," Angel says.
"Charlie?" Zelda questions.
"Yeah. Charlie is actually the Princess of Hell," Angel says.
"Really? Hell has a princess?" Zelda asks, surprised.
"Yep. Daughter of Hell's Head Honcho, Lucifer Morningstar. She's also the owner of the Happy Hotel," Angel says.
"Morningstar?" Zelda says in thought.
"Do you think she can help me find a way home from where here in Hell I'm at," Zelda says.
"Oh yeah, you wouldn't know it. We're in Pentagram City, where all those who were once alive ended up in Hell from the sins they committed," Angel says.
"So I'm guessing you're one of them?" Zelda asks.
"That's right. Used to be part of a mob while alive, but here, I'm a Porn Star. I'm pretty fuckin famous," Angel says.
"Porn star. As in the adult film industry?" Zelda questions, blushing a bit.
"Pretty much," Angel says, shrugging his shoulders, "Anyway, I'm sure if anyone can figure out what happened and how to get back to Earth, it's her."
"That sounds good. I could really use her help," Zelda says.
She then asks, "Where can I find her?"
"Well, she and her girlfriend are actually out right now for an interview at a news station or something. But she'll be back at the Hotel later, I'm actually heading there right now," Angel says.
"Great," Zelda says relieved, "So can we go there now?"
"Sure, just let me grab something," Angel says as he turns his head and arches his eyebrow to see a machine.
Angel walks over to the machine to see the different names of drugs. He presses the button that reads, 'Angel Dust.' He then grabs a small bag filled with white powder and smiles eagerly to have come.
"Seriously, a machine that sells drugs?" Zelda questions.
"It's Hell, what do you expect?" Angel says.
"I'm guessing there's no machine that sells soda and juice around here," Zelda says.
"Not here though," Angel says, and about to open the bag.
Before the demon can open the bag, another demon wearing a black hood runs by, "Yoink!" And takes the bag of drugs.
The spider demon shouts in anger, "Hey!"
"Up yours, drag show!" The black hooded demon cries out, holding the bag.
Suddenly, a large boulder lands on the ground, crushing the demon. Zelda yelps and covers her eyes in fright.
The spider demon gasps and screams, "Oh my god!"
He then picks up the ripped up bag, "My drugs! Damn it!"
"Where did that come from?" Zelda asks, shocked.
The group looks up to see a black, yellow and reddish-pink color Zeppelin flying over the city. The airship has guns and other machinery that is blasting everywhere in sight.
"So, I'm guessing this happens very often," Zelda says.
"You got that right, kid," Angel says. "And it looks like Egglord is causing more trouble on this side of the city."
"Who?" Zelda says, confused.
"I'll explain later. Come on, we gotta get going," Angel says, and hurries off.
"Wait, where are you going?" Zelda asks and chases after Angel. "Wait for me!"
Inside the airship, maniacal laughter is surrounding it. In the ship there are multiple white eggs called Egg Bois. They have small skinny black limbs. They seem that their yellow eyes are actually inside the large crack in their shells and their mouths are an additional crack on the outside of their shells. They wear a yellow shirt under a gray coat with yellow vertical stripes on it and a black tie. They also wear a black top hat with a pink or magenta stripe atop their shells.
The source of the maniacal laughter is actually from a demon named Sir Pentious. He's a slender snake-like demon whose body color is predominantly a charcoal gray. His eyes have cerise sclera with narrow black pupils, and he has a wide mouth with sharp yellow teeth; two of which being long snake-like fangs. His neck is long and his tail is black with thick yellow stripes featuring numerous cerise eyes running down the length of it. He has a black cobra hood with its front colored yellow with black corners and four cerise eye patterns spread across the center. Sir Pentious wears a jacket in a matching charcoal gray to his skin, pinstriped with yellow, and a black bow-tie with a single cerise eye in the center. beneath the jacket is a long sleeved yellow undershirt. He also wears black fingerless gloves with yellow dots on each knuckle and has sharp cerise claws. He accessorizes with a large top hat in charcoal gray which has a large cerise eye in the center of it, as well as many sharp yellow teeth and a pair of goggles.
He grabs the controls and says in pride, "Those other cowardly sinners dare not hinder my territorial takeover! A wise decision. The power of my machines are unmatched!" Then pushes the levers forward with his claws. "No other demon can compare to the likes of I!"
The Egg Bois, #23 says, "Gee, that was pretty swell, boss!"
"Yeah!" Another Egg Boi cheers.
A third appears in front of the controls, "You really showed them what for!" and points his thumb to the window.
Then says, "I liked when you shot them with your ray gun-"
Annoyed, Sir Pentious swats the egg away.
Egg Boi #23 says, depressed, "I wish he'd shoot me with his ray gun."
Then his comrade pats him on the head, much to the snake demon's annoyed expression.
"At this rate, I will seize control of the entire west side of the pentagram by day's end!" Sir Pentious says. He then pushes forward the levers, "And nothing, not a single beast in this inferno of suffering will be able to take back. "This empire from my constrictive grasp!" having an Egg Boi in his coil and squeezing him.
Suddenly, noise makers appear in the airship.
And Egg Boi cheers, "Whoo!"
Then pops a cork from a bottle and it hits his boss' face. The snake demon then throws the Egg boi from his coil while he uses his hand to swat away the other one.
Another Egg Boi cheers, "Oh boy!"
"Hell will be mine, and everybody will know the name of Sir Pe-" Sir Pentious says with pride.
But suddenly, someone calls out in a remark, "Egglord!" interrupting the snake demon.
He isn't pleased at all, "Pardon? Who said that?!"
He then looks around to find the source.
He then glared at two of his minions, "What did you just say to me you fried chicken fetuses?!" He then hisses with rattling sounds, and demands, "Sssspeak up!"
"That wasn't us, mister boss man," One of the Egg Bois speaks up.
Suddenly, they hear a strange sound and something crashes through the window and bounces off the floor as it makes a fusing sound. A closer look, Sir Pentious and his Egg Bois are stunned to see the object is a red bomb with a black skull on it. Before they can do anything, the bomb explodes leaving our sparkles and red smoke. The snake demon coughs out the smoke and sparkles that have got from his mouth.
Suddenly, a female's voice asks "You looking for a fight…"
Just then, a red boot stomps on the ground.
"Old man?" The female voice finishes her sentence with a grin and holds a bomb in her hand.
The demon who invaded Pentious' vehicle is a spunky powerhouse demon named Cherri Bomb. She's a cyclops demon. She has long pink hair with blonde and white accents contained in a large ponytail, and wears a large amount of mascara. Her eye has a bloodshot pink sclera and a pale yellow x-shaped pupil. Her skin is mostly white, with pink freckles on her face and right shoulder. She also has a tattoo along her right arm that changes with different artists' interpretations. Cherri wears a gray, fingerless satin glove on her left arm and appears to have a tattoo sleeve on her right arm. She also wears a red off-shoulder crop top, a black bra, a reddish, torn-up miniskirt with two buttons on the front with one loose suspender, and ripped black leggings underneath. She appears to wear a red and white boot on her left foot, while on the right, a pointed red shoe.
"Why don't you get that tinker toy bullshit off my turf before I smash it!" Cherri says, tossing the bomb in her hand.
Then a piece of large pipe classes to the ground.
"...more," Cherri adds.
"Oh, you wanna go, missy?" Sir Pentious questions.
He brushes his upper hand under his chin with an evil grin, "Well I'm happy to oblige!"
He laughs evilly as all of his eyes begin to glow red and his minions are ready to fight. Well, one is holding a flamethrower of some kind while the other holds a wrench.
