Vivian's left hand immediately caught Saya's neck.

"UNHAND ME, SLAVE!" the demon screamed.

"Heh, hah!" Vivian laughed, skin glowing, experiencing an influx of memories.

She suddenly understood a vital truth as the ball-joint gynoid's skin convulsed: Saya had been experiencing time backwards.

Vivian gripped Saya by the neck and trudged over to the coffin.

"Izanami: King Hell!" she proudly shouted with understanding. "You thought you could ensnare me in your web of death in my ignorance and make me like you!"

Vivian leaned on the metal coffin with her right palm. It shifted open to unveil a blonde patchwork Prime Field in a crucifix. Her eyes shot open.

"Temee..." Saya recoiled in spite, choking from the escalating positive feedback loop of seithr-fueled normal force. "You... you coward! You left me to fry in boiling hellfire!"

"I literally couldn't make myself stay in your body," the blonde replied. "Sorry... It was a site of utter damnation, and I'd rather die than be called evil just for failing where you persisted."

"Wish granted," Saya bit back. "And isn't the end of me."

"Stay where you belong," Nu shouted, raising her sword at Saya's face. "In our past."

"Hey!" Vivian interjected as her grip tightened. "I'm not going to kill you; you've got me all wrong!"

"Then what-" Noel questioned aloud.

"Restriction, release!" Vivian commanded.

Saya's skin began to glow red.

"You killed me and then the repercussions of my death killed you, mother. But instead of seeking a solution in killing, this'll restore what was lost. Prime Field Device Number 12: Initialize!"

Saya's skin color reddened and her hair turned blonde.

"How..." Saya wondered, slowly easing up on the physical resistance to Vivian's contact.

The metropolis of Pendragon gradually darkened.

In the coffin, Noel's eyes and mouth sealed shut.

"How... Viv, you're smarter than God!" Noel began to say, her soul conjoining with Saya's. A black mark in the shape of dual wings identical to the shape of Vivian's turned opaque on her chest.

Vivian slid her hand off Noel's neck and caught her in an embrace over her arms.

"I... I wanted my family back. The mask of my mom in this world may not have been real, but it felt real. I would give anything to get her back. And I saw you in her."

"Well, when we get down from here we'll have a whole family reunion," Nu commented, resting the back of her head in her palms. "There were more of us than just us two in the first world."
