School!

You know how the Episode goes.

But how will the presence of Adora and Catra change things?

Chapter 4: Just a normal school day

"He thinks that Abomination Magic should be done that way but it is more effective that way!"

"Not everyone is impressed by Abominations that can shoot Dredgehogs from its arms," argued Adora. "Also it breaks the rules of the Covens: You are not allowed to combine different types of magic."

"Sister, we were raised by the greatest wild witch AND greatest witch in general of the Boiling Isles. We were not raised to follow all the rules of the Boilimg Empire," argued Catra back.

"You need to keep a low profile one day," scolded Adora. "Use of more than one type of magic is only allowed in school so the students can be sure what they want to do later or if they want to join the Emperor's Coven. But combinations are forbidden here as well."

"Something Bump doesn't enforce anyway," reminded Catra her sister. "We are free to experiment until the day they want give us the Coven Brands. We then beat up the officials who want to give them to us and start our career as wild witches under mom's guidance."

"I want to do more than freelance work and working on the black market," admitted Adora. "You know I want to work in the Emperor's Coven, I want to become an officer of Emperors Coven, a Captain."

The two sisters entered the cafeteria of Hexside to grab some good grub for lunch. They looked around for familiar friendly faces and found them soon enough.

"Hey Emira, hey Edric, hey Hermia, hey Blanca, hey Carmen, hey Fjodor and hey Feblan," greeted Catra the friends she and Adora made on Hexside. "How are you?"

The colorful group of friends greeted the Human-looking one and the Cat. The Blight Twins, looking almost identical with pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, a mole under her left eye and Edric one under his right, and emerald, green hair, tied into a braided ponytail in Emiras case. Their face shapes were also rounded off to a point. They looked chipper, like usual.

"Could be better, the grub today is nothing special," complained Emira. "I hope the supper will be more entertaining."

"The grub is nothing special, yet there is a way better show developing over there," mentioned Edric and pointed at a different table with younger students.

The students in Question were Willow Park, Gus Porter and Luz Noceda, but she was less of a student and more of a type of homework. Abomination homework to be exact.

"That is a witch with round ears and not an Abomination," revealed Hermia, a Demon with the head of a brown Triceratops and wearing the colors of the Beast Keeper Coven. "That or a very unusual type of demon."

"Did the others really fall for that?" wondered Adora. "Also I think that the human posing as a Abomination is the one that is living with us right now."

"Yes, that is Luz," confirmed Catra, very interested what was going on with the human girl. "That or a very well made Abomination-Replica."

"I think this is a gammock, this has to be a very elaborate prank that involves a lot of talent in Abomination Magic, talent Willow should not haveth."

This comment came from a Knightess in full armor. A knightess that was in full gear, armor and armed with sword and shield on her back. She appeared very sure of herself despite lacking visible facial features right now. It was also unclear which track she was part of.

"Blanca, you are right," agreed Adora. "This is a con. A pretty good con but it will not trick somebody who knows the general applications and functions of Abomination Magic."

"Like Bump who is entering the cafeteria right now," observed Catra.

An old man with a Bat-Mask-Hat on his head which looked like it was consuming him, robes with long sleeves, a traditional looking academic dress which was consisting of a long black gown with a gold yoke, a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and cape hem to be exact, plus a blue stole draped over his shoulders and black pointed shoes. A orchid abomination coven sigil was on the inside of his right wrist, glowing ominously. Frewin, the Palisman on his head, covered half of his face, giving him the appearance of being consumed by said Palisman.

"He looks pretty schtum today," commented the Knightess who wore gothic plate armor in silver and olive. "He looks like he knows what is happening at this merry place and what will happen in the immediate future."

Principal Bump looks like an older man, judging from the wrinkles surrounding his upper lip, with light-beige skin. He had long black hair, brown eyes but only one was open, the left eye was sewn shut, and a scar was running down from his upper right scalp.

"Hmm. Abomination, rise."

The question of the Principal let the plus-sized stocky girl freeze. Willow Park's olive-green eyes looked over in worry to Luz who did as Bump commanded. The girl with the light skin, pointed ears and short, neat, dark navy-blue hair with a few loose strands looked nervously over to Bump next, trying to read him.

"Abomination, lie."

"Uh, viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are real—"

"What ze heck are chemtrails?" asked Hermia into the round. "Is it like ze trail some spells create?"

"I think those are trails the humans spread to confuse conspiracy theorists," commented Catra casually, munching on a fruit. "That or to feed conspiracy theorists. Some say they need that to survive in contrast to other humans. Pure paranoia keeps them alive."

"Oh, no, abomination. How strange for it to get the command wrong. I mean lie down," made the principal clear, pointing at a table.

Luz did as the Principal commanded, whimpering.

"So very lifelike," the Principal lauded as he approached the table with Willow. "When Miss Blight told me about your abomination, I had to come by, see what she's made of."

"Flesh and bone, very unusual for an Abomination," commented the student named Carmen. She was a wearing a dark cloak with the symbol of the Healing Coven on it, had the beak and neck of a vulture, a scythe on her back, was plus-sized and her hands in the carcass of a rabbit-like creature. "It can work as a scary sorpresa to put a dead body into an abomination but not as its foundation."

"Oh, I have her list of ingredients right here," Willow quickly promised and presented said list even quicker.

"No. We were hoping..." Bump pulled a dagger out of his sleeve. "For a closer look. Willow, I'll allow you the first cut."

Adora looked from Bump and Luz to Catra and her school friends with a unsure expression. "Is he for real?"

Catra munched casually on her grub and looked over to Bump with a bored expression. "The man is too predictable to be serious about slicing somebody open, especially a child."

"I would be worried if zat was Bosha," exclaimed Hermia. "Zat girl is serial killer in ze making."

"Uh, you can't just cut open a human, can you?" heard Catra Willow ask the little human.

Luz shook her head, looking distressed.

Another young student, a Naga with Jade scales, a friendly and warm smile, a school uniform that presented the colors of the Healers-Coven and fangs of a snake said: "I doubt Principal Bump plans a vivisection, that dagger is not the right tool for that task. He would need a scalpel; they are more precise."

"Willow, go ahead and make the first incision," ordered Bump.

Adora prepared a spell under the desk. "I can knock the dagger away with a fast blast, that gives you guys time for a bigger distraction."

"What do you need exactly?" asked Edric with a sly smile. "A little fake explosion, sudden bats, very loud noises, a terrifying scream, the press suddenly invading the room, a spontaneous nudist or just a illusion of mother making a scene?"

"The last one is too much," Adora quickly shot down. "As for the other options: I take the sudden bats."

"Don't you worry too much, Adora?" asked Hermia. "I doubt ze Principal would cut anyone open."

"She is a human, this might be a exception," argued Catra now for Adora. "We don't know his exact stance on humans."

"Wait, Principal Bump! Uh, high five!"

The decision was taken from the older students as one of the greatest Illusion prodigies of Hexside, Gus Porter made his move which involved knocking down three pots with Abomination fluid which spilled together and the resulting formed Abominations would stand tall.

"Run!" shouted Gus to his friends, Gus and Luz who started to run away.

"They're getting away!" pointed Amity out the obvious.

"You are really observant, Amity," snarked Catra from afar.

"Spare me your Snark!" shouted Amity angry at the cat.

"No, the intruder won't get far," promised Bump.

The old man approached a wall and traced a large spell circle onto it, then he slammed the wall in the center of it. Red light formed patterns on the walls and floor, spreading from the spell circle.

"It gets serious," commented casually the last one in the round, a student that looked plumb, robust in build, large, wore the uniform of a Construction-Coven student and he appeared being very casual about the situation. "Something will give today." He pulled out a magazine he was too young to read but did so anyway because the ensuing chaos kept everyone distracted from him. "Not what I want to be part of this."

"Ready for action like always, Feblan," was the dry reaction Fjodor.

"Catra, we have to follow Luz and Willow," decided Adora. She turned to the others. "Will you help us?"

Emira and Edric got up, so did Hermia.

"I can't come, I have my hands full," explained Carmen who tried to dislodge her hands from the carcass. "Fjodor, can you help me please?"

"Of course Carmen," agreed Fjodor helpfully and produced a scalpel. "I get you out in no time."

"I will accompany thee," promised Blanca and got up from her place. "Let us help these ladies in distress."

Adora, Catra, Blanca and Hermia got up to trail Bump who was following Luz and Willow.

Willow and Luz were running through the halls, both panting heavily as they stopped at a corner.

"This is all my fault, Willow. I just wanted to see what a real magic school was like."

"Well, how do you like it?"

"It's lovely, actually."

The two giggle in Unison.

"Okay, we should get out of here before—"

"Catra, I can't help you with your homework right now, let me go!"

Catra was tugging at Bump's cloak. "But I need help with understanding the importance of the element of water in the Potion Coven."

Luz and Willow wanted to take the opportunity to flee but the red colored magic of ethereal walls stopped them from doing so.

"Bump has sealed us in," noted Willow worryingly.

"Principal Bump I have an idea for the Grom," heard Luz and Willow the voice of Adora. "We could bombard it from staffs in case things turn sour. I think the Beast Coven students would be perfect for that they can bombard the Grom with Eeeriephants."

Bump was annoyed by these questions and used some abomination fluid to slip out of Adora's and Catra's grasps.

"Get back to the lunch hall, I need to take-care of-"

Hermia teleported into Bumps way. "I need help with my next test."

"Not now, Miss Hufwil."

Bump tried going past the dinosaur student but she teleported into his way again.

"It is about the Dreadhogs. Should I read the books of Dr. Jaleel Vincent or Dr. Roger Griffith?"

"Miss Hufwil I am hunting an intruder here, go back to the lunch hall!"

"But Dredgehogs! Rings! Jump pads!"

"NOT NOW!"

Bump escaped Hermia via becoming slime for a second and ran into Blanca next.

"Knave! I eh, I mean Principal Knave!"

The Principal's voice was straining from anger at this point. "What is it, Miss Obilić?"

"Lord Bump, regent of Hexside I request thy help with my math homework or thou may face my wrath!"

Lord Bump's expression was unreadable as he summoned some Abomination ooze with a snap of his fingers which wrapped itself around the student in armor and placed her to the side and out of Bump's path.

"I have an intruder to punish and I will punish you and all of your friends as well if you continue to stay in my path!"

"Varlet, I warn you let the maiden alone!" threatened Blanca and drew her sword. "Recede now!"

"Recede back to theater class, chevalier," ordered Bump dryly and was on his way again.

"What now?" asked Hermia Adora and Catra who had observed each other's attempts to stop the Principal from reaching Luz.

"Violence," concluded Catra. "I do not know what his plans for the human are and we don't know his opinion of humans so we need to attack him if necessary to protect Luz."

"Catra, that could mean expulsion," remined Adora her sister. "The Principal may have been tolerant to your antics in the past but this will break the caramels back."

"I want to be a wild witch like mom, you know that Adora. Being expelled will be a first good step towards that."

Adora looked worryingly at her sister. She didn't want Catra to take this drastic step so fast "Catra, please you shouldn't just want to be a wild witch. There is so much more you can do aside from being an outlaw, Catra."

"But being an outlaw is fun, just look how happy mom is as a wild witch."

Adora frowned. "But the Boiling Empire will hunt you as a wild witch, as a heretic. The Coven Heads will hunt you. Aunt Lilith will hunt you down."

"I can deal with that," claimed Catra with certainty in her voice and her eyes. "I can deal with anyone who tries to screw with me, you, mother and King!"

"I know that you can take care of yourself Catra, but living like mom is a very dangerous path," reminded Adora her sister, worry stuck deep in her voice. "Please, don't decide on this path today."

Catra countered Adora's serious stare for a few Moments before she sighed. "Okay, okay I decide this tomorrow. But how do we stop Bump without attacking him directly?"

Adora, feeling relieved suggested: "We only need a few illusion spells, a bit of Construction Magic, the right timing and hope that Luz will get the hint and flee."

"Can we also involve Blanca's theatrics?"

"Of course."

Adora was leading the charge, followed closely by Catra. Their friends from this school were flanking the two sisters.

"The plan is clear, right?"

"Yes, Adora," answered Catra. "This will be one human hell of a-"

The group ran into Principal Bump who was removing several large thorned vines with his abomination tentacles from the area. Besides him stood a nervous looking Willow.

"I am sorry, Principal Bump," muttered the adorable bespectacled girl. "But I had to do it."

"Stopping me from throwing out an unauthorized person from school grounds?"

"No, I me- You didn't want to cut her open?"

Bump was silent for a few seconds. "I came on to strong, didn't I?"

"You weren't serious about dissecting Luz?"

"No, I am not killing somebody about a bit of cheating," clarified Bump. "Neither participant I want to add. Not to mention I don't have the authority to execute students or intruders."

"That is the reason mom made it through school," joked Catra quietly.

"Do I get detention?" asked Willow fearfully.

"This is your first serious misdemeanor Ms. Park, I think I will overlook it, at least this time," allowed Bump Willow to get away with it.

"PRINCIPAL BUMP!" shouted Amity which made Willow think of Amity's mother, Odalia. "Willow deserves punishment for what she did!"

Bump scratched his chin slowly and methodically. "What do you mean exactly?"

"I mean… She cheated!"

Willow protested against that with: "I only cheated because I am bad at Abomination magic!"

"Why are you in the Abomination class in the first place?!" wanted Amity to know, too enraged to keep her composure. "You are terrible with the ooze!"

"I wonder this myself," commented Bump. "Why are you studying Abomination magic if your Plant magic is so much better?"

Willow Park looked fearfully down to her feet. "My fathers are the reason, they want me to study Abomination magic because they say it has more possibilities and is the most respected of the nine main covens."

"More like overrated," was the opinion of Bump. "I think the Plant Coven is more important in the grand scheme."

"But you are in the Abomination Coven, Principal!" remined a confused Amity Bump. "Why would you say the Plant Coven is more important?!"

"Food," simply answered Bump. "Food to feed people. Also, plants to make medicine out of them. Abominations can't create either so easily. As for you: If there is any punishment than that you lose your good grade you got today in Abomination class."

"Yes, Principal Bump," accepted Willow Crestfallen while Amity smiled smugly behind her.

"And to improve your grades Miss Park I transfer you to the Plant Track effective immediately."

"Yes, Pri- Wait what?"

"Tomorrow you will start attending classes with the Plant Track, Mrs. Park."

"I… Principal my fathers will never agree to this!" feared Willow those hopes grew at the thought of entering Plant magic studies. "They think Abomination studies are better."

The principal looked with a sympathetic look at Willow. "It is better for you to enter studies you love and have talent for than studies were you just wither and wilt eventually."

Willow nodded. "What about my fathers?"

"I talk with them Miss Park," promised Bump. "I will convince them that the Plant Coven is better for you despite their fears. I feared the same fears for you possible safety as they explained their decision. With some luck she will be dead until you come of age then or retire perhaps."

"Who will die?" asked Amity. "Who are you talking about?"

Bump cleared his mind and non-answered quickly: "Not important right now. Both of you: School is over. Go home."

This confused both girls and they looked to the nearest clock.

"Principal the school day is not over yet," noticed Amity.

"I need the rest of the day to remove Amity's plants," explained Bump and gave the girl with the glasses a poster. "Take this Willow. Now go you two before I decide that you two can help me with cleaning."

"But does this day count as extra credit?" wanted Amity to know. "Also I helped you to uncover Willow's cheating!"

Willow instead made haste after these words, ignoring her former friend. She needed to talk with Luz, her new friend.

"Should we follow them?" asked Emira, looking from Willow to Amity. "Personally, I would like to stay behind and tease Amity over the entire affair.

"Me too," added Edric with a cheeky smile. "Could be fun, especially after she was acting like such a stuck-up jerk."

"We better look after our new housemate," Adora suggested, being a bit worried. "I hope Bump doesn't decide to call the Emperor's Coven on Luz or the City Guard."

"A good scrap doesn't sound too bad," was Catra's enthusiastic response and she rammed right fist into her left palm. "Towards home!"

"That's my girl!"

The older students of Hexside arrived at the House of Owls as Eda behold the poster Bump gave Willow.

"Zat is she holding?" wondered Hermia, trying to get a closer look at the parchment.

"It is a wanted Poster, of- Oh, no!" Adoria realized immediately who was wanted or rather was banned.

"One day and she was banned," realized Catra with a grin, a slightly proud grin. "Bump really dislikes intruders it seems."

"Lady… What is the dames family name?" asked Blanca her friends.

"Noceda," answered the blonde daughter of Edalyn.

"Lady Noceda was brave and helpful, she shouldn't be punished for that," argued a angry Blanca.

"I guess with Catra and some others at our school, the Principal doesn't want more troublemakers," suggested Adora, looking suspiciously at Catra.

"Bump was never able to proof that I was responsible for turning Bosha into a Poisonous Onkey-Donkey for a week," defended Catra herself quickly. "Neither can Bosha but that little jerk can't stop blaming me for it."

Adora didn't want to discuss this right now and joined her mother, King, Luz and her new friends. "Hi, Mom, we are home early because of… Some unforeseen circumstances."

"Circumstances called Luz Noceda," claimed Eda, beaming with pride. "Not as good as the things Catra has pulled so far, yet still pretty impressive."

"Why was Catra not banned so far?" wanted Luz to know.

"She is in school already, all she can receive is detention," explained Eda, not worried in the least. "I also set a very high bar, one that is difficult to top and one has probably to go above it to get thrown out of Hexside by Bump."

"Ze only reason Luz here was zrown out so quickly is zat she is no Hexside student," argued Hermia.

Luz then started to explain why she wanted to be in Hexside in the first place. It was mostly to help Willow but she also liked the idea of visiting a school for magic like in the books of "The Good Witch Azura". With adventures, intrigue and different houses the students are shuffled into to figure out their alignments.

"We nay have different houses milady. Nay, we do not live there," explained Blanca with a noble sounding tone.

Still, this didn't stop Luz being enthralled by the school and she was happy that she made two new friends. Adora and Catra could only agree with that, having meet many of their friends in Hexside as well. It didn't surprise the two that the human wanted to go to Hexside.

"Like I already said: Luz can learn anything regarding magic from me," made Eda clear. "Why visiting Hexside at all? It wasn't that useful for me aside from a few friends, Grudgby, having fun pulling pranks, learning a few interesting things and a place to hang out when you have nothing better to do."

They continued to talk about the school, magic and eventually just about everything.

"Are you sure that nobody was hurt?"

"No, Lady Cutburn," told Principal Bump his guest. "Why are you here? We have our own Healer Witches in the school."

"I was nearby and wanted to check the situation out as I heard about it," explained the tall woman. "The chaos was cause by a Plant Track Student?"

"Former Student of the Abomination Track, yet her talent is obviously with the plants. I transferred her to the track of plant magic."

"Why was she in the Abomination Track then?" wanted the blue skinned woman to know.

"Her parents demanded it," explained Bump neutrally. "They said being a Abomination Witch would be better career but I think they wanted her to keep away from Terra."

"Understandable," agreed the woman who was wearing something resembling the garb a human nun would wear. "Yet, maybe too restricting for somebody naturally gifted in plant magic."

Bump and Hettie Cutburn, the large leader of the Healing Coven were in the Principals bureau. Her eyes were covered and only her mouth was visible, making reading her very difficult for most people who talked with her. Her headgear was also impressive, a white hood with a semicircle-shaped top with light blue bands.

"The student in question is better and happier in the Plant track. As for you is there any other reason you want to be here?"

Hettie took a deep breath and Bump's hair on his back raised up. He had the feeling he might have used the wrong choice of words. But Hettie casually explained. "The new guest in the Owl House: Had she something to do with this?"

"Who? The fake Abomination, was she…" Bumps face jerked up in revelation. "That Intruder is with Edalyn?"

"Yes."

Bump sighed deeply. "Then the chaos of today makes sense. Only somebody like Eda can force me to enact a lockdown and she would let only somebody live with her who is like her. At least I suspect that."

"Are you sure their similar characters wouldn't clash, making co-existence in the same house impossible?"

"Maybe she is a different type of chaos bringer," theorized Bump. "In any case I banned the fake Abomination from the school grounds."

"Yet the children of the Owl Witch are allowed to stay?"

Bump shrugged. "Adora is a very good student, she has a bright future."

"And she was seen helping to spring prisoners out of the Conformatorium the other day."

"Dangerous criminals?"

"Conspiracy theorists are dangerous," warned Hettie Bump. "So are people who eat their own eyeballs or write fanfics."

Bump didn't think so but he didn't want to press the issue.

"Do you want to arrest Adora?"

"No, Lady Lilith says her niece will mature in time and join the Emperor's Coven when she is of age."

"That could be happening," agreed Bump. "She tries to master all forms of magic after all."

"What about Catra?" asked the master of healing. "She was also seen at the Conformatorium. How is she?"

Bump tried to stay as neutral as possible. "Acceptable."

Hettie looked through Bump quickly. "How often is she in detention?"

"Not that often," claimed Bump neutrally.

"And what did she do to land there?"

"This is between me, the student and her parent," made Bump quickly clear.

The masked woman used her most intimidating expression on the masked man. The masked man kept his composure. They starred at each other like this for a while. Eventually Hettie just stopped.

"Whatever, her true loyalty will be decided when she undergoes the trials for the Emperor's Coven."

"Is it still the same trial?" asked Bump the woman on the opposite side of his desk. "I don't like the combat trial. It leaves too many qualified candidates behind."

"Do not worry about that, Principal," told Hettie the man in a calm tone. "There are a lot more open places these days. The most qualified will not have to fight each other this year for the position."

"Is there place enough for both Adora Clawthorne and Catra Clawthorne?"

"Yes but only when they are good enough."

Bump relaxed. "They both are."

"But will both want to join the Emperor's Coven?"

"Adora told me she wants to join the Emperor's Coven," Bump told the mighty Cutburn. "Catra will surely follow her sister."

The Master of Healing raised one eyebrow, a movement which was difficult to see behind her mask. "Of course. Well, before I go I have one last question."

"What is the question?" asked the Principal.

"Are Adora and Catra loyal to the demon realm?"

"Why shouldn't they?" answered Bump with a counter-question. "This is their home after all."

"Where do they come from?"

Bump didn't know how to answer that. "From… The Boiling Isles?" At least he didn't know how to exactly answer that. "I don't know the exact place of their birth."

"Nobody does, the Owl Lady never revealed it," informed Hettie the Principal. "They could be from everywhere, even from earth. The Healer-Coven has no information about their births in any case."

Bump didn't know what he should think about that. "I don't think that the Owl Lady kidnapped anyone, especially these two girls."

"I am skeptical myself," agreed Lady Cutburn with Bump to a degree. "But it would still be better if we knew their exact origin. Please inform the Boiling Empire if you learn anything about their true origins."

Principal Bump was not sure why the birthplace of the two could be of importance. But he just nodded before the Hettie Cutburn excused herself and left.

"Birthplace….," muttered Bump to himself. "Eda adopted the two. They could be from anywhere. What does it matter?"

The school is over. Go home.

Or tell me what you thought of this chapter please.

I felt like I had to give Adora and Catra more friends than just Edric and Emira, more people they can interact with. So I put in some old OC's I created a long time ago, they got a few changes to fit the setting. Give me feedback on these guys please, I need to know if they work or not.

As for Willows Fathers, the Parks: I am convinced they forced Willow into the Abomination track to ensure she gets a calm and collected boss one day in form of Darius Deamonne instead of a violent crazy woman like Terra Snapdragon.

Until next time!
