The Curse of the Three Monkeys
This chapter takes place somewhere in the first half of season 2.
One sunny day, Molly and Scratch were at a museum that showed the history of Brighton from the earliest turnip events to the more recently corrected facts. Molly was completely enjoying it all, but Scratch was clearly not.
"Why are we here again?" Scratch asked.
"So we can learn even more about our hometown of course." Molly happily answered.
"Well at least one of us is enjoying-" Scratch tried to complain, but Molly was already looking at something else. "Does she ever listen?"
At some point, Molly came across a picture of the inside of some Asian ruins with information below it. So she started reading.
"This photo shows the unusual ancient ruins found in the forest of Brighton. It is said to have been made by Japanese pirates who hid their treasure. Nobody has ever tried to explore these ruins due to believing it to be a fake site."
*GASP!*"Scratch! Guess what!" Molly cried out with excitement.
"You found another boring thing of the past?" Scratch said.
"No, silly. There's a treasure of Brighton and nobody's found it yet!"
"Okay, not boring."
"We should go look for it! Think of all the people we could enhappify and we wouldn't have any more money trouble!"
"Not to mention how much more food we could afford! Alright! Where do we go looking for it?"
"Uhhh..." Molly checked the whole display for more information. "The only other thing it says is 'Don't bother'."
"Well thanks for nothing."
"Wait. Maybe Libby can help us."
So they left the museum to find Libby.
They went straight to Book Marks the Spot and their timing couldn't have been any better, for Libby had just finished helping her mom put away a whole pile of new books.
"Hi, Libby." Molly said while giving her bestie a hug. "Did you know there's a treasure somewhere in Brighton that nobody's found?"
"You mean the one supposedly hidden by Japanese pirates?" Libby replied.
"That's the one. Wanna go find it? I know people say it's not real, but-"
Libby held her hand up to stop Molly.
"Actually, I've researched all about that treasure and I know it's real. But I also know that it's supposed to be very dangerous and I'm too nervous to even look for the ruins."
Libby hid her head in her sweater.
"Oh come on, Libby. We have a ghost to protect us." Molly said.
"That's right. I 'Scratch the Chairman' will keep you two safe." Scratch boasted.
Then the bell rung from the door opening and scared Scratch.
"AHHH!"
Libby giggled, brought her head back out, and said "I guess we would be pretty safe. Alright, I'm in."
"Yes." Molly said with a fist pump. "So where do we go?"
"Well if my research is right, it should be half a mile from where we once camped."
Some time later, Molly, Scratch, and Libby were in the woods approaching their destination. Once they passed some bushes, they found... nothing.
"Where are the ruins?" Molly asked.
"What a ripoff!" Scratch said.
"Now hold on." Libby said while looking through the note she brought with her. "They're supposed to be hidden in this exact spot somewhere."
"Then let's start looking." Molly said.
They looked all over the area, checking every stone, tree, and bush until Molly stumbled across a cave.
"Maybe it's in here." Molly suggested.
Scratch and Libby came over to take a look. Then the unexpected happened.
"OMG! Molly and Libby!"
Scratch quickly vanished before he could be seen. Molly and Libby turned to see Andrea of all people.
"Andrea!" Molly said with a sheepish smile matching Libby's. "What are you doing here?"
"I came out here to demonstrate one of Daddy's camping products, but..." Andrea revealed a broken tool of some sort. "It's not gonna sell. What about you two?"
"Oh we just like exploring caves. Right, Libby?"
"Uh, yeah." Libby said.
"Ooh, mind if I join you? Thanks." Andrea then rudely walked past the others.
"What?" Molly, Libby, and Scratch turned and rushed in after.
At least two of them did. Somehow, Scratch splatted against nothing.
"Hey! What gives!? I can't get in!" he complained.
"What?" Molly said. "Libby, you go stop Andrea. I'll help Scratch."
"Okay." Libby went ahead.
Molly tried pulling Scratch, pushing him, and even begging the cave to let him in.
"It's no use, Molly." Scratch said. "A ghost must've cursed the place so other ghosts can't get in."
"You mean we have to go without you?"
"It's alright. I probably would've shirked out of whatever you have to do in there anyway."
"Fine, but take my phone just in case." Molly handed her phone to Scratch. "We'll be back as soon as we can."
She then went back in to catch up with the other two girls. It didn't take long because Libby managed to get Andrea to explain something her.
"Then I finally take it off and my hair looks like this." Andrea said while brushing some of her hair back with her hand.
"Good thing she likes to brag." Molly thought.
"I tried, Molly." Libby whispered.
"Well at least we now know it's real." Molly whispered back. "I'll try something."
"Okay first of all, you're not as quiet as you think you are." Andrea said, surprising Molly and Libby. "And second, if this is about that rumored
treasure, I don't need it even if it was real. My family's already rich, remember?"
Feeling relieved, they started searching the cave with Libby's phone light. Then they reached the end of the cave where the already found entrance with downward stone stairs stood. It did indeed have a Japanese design including kanji writing which none of them understood.
"We found the entrance!" Molly celebrated. "Hey look. The pirates must've loved monkeys."
On either side and above the entrance was a carving, each with three monkeys covering part of their faces.
"Those are the three wise monkeys." Libby said. "Known best for the phrase 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil'. Which is weird since pirates are evil. Why would they worship them?"
"Does it matter?" Andrea asked.
"She's right, Libby." Molly said. "Now let's go treasure hunting!"
She quickly went down the stone stairs and Andrea walked behind her.
"Be careful!" Libby reluctantly followed them. "There could be booby traps down there."
To her surprise, there were no traps anywhere in the stair-hall, even when they all reached the bottom. They looked around, but there was only the small room in which they stood and a door with no handle.
"Okay, how are we supposed to open this?" Andrea asked.
"Since they were Japanese, I'd say you have to slide it." Libby suggested.
"Let's try it." Molly approached the door and tried to move it to either side.
It was a little easier than she expected. Once the door opened however, the room was suddenly warped.
"What's going on!?" Andrea asked with fear.
"I don't know!" Molly said. "It kinda looks like..."
"YOU THREE HAVE OPENED THE WAY TO OUR TREASURE!" came multiple haunting voices. "NOW YOU SHALL BE CURSED UNTIL YOU LEAVE OR FIND WHAT YOU SEEK! ONE OF YOU SHALL NOT SEE! ONE OF YOU SHALL NOT HEAR! AND ONE OF YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK!"
Part of each girl's head lit up in a large flash, causing them all to fall on their backs. Then the room went back to normal. Slowly, all three of them got back up, each with a surprise.
"Hey, why is it so dark now?" Libby asked.
No matter where she looked or what she did with her phone, there was only black.
"Molly? Andrea? Where are you!?"
Molly shook her head and saw Libby panicking. However, Libby wasn't making any noise.
"Libby!? What's going on!? You're not making any sounds!" she cried out.
As for Andrea, she was getting annoyed by the first two, so she tried to tell them to stop. But not even a peep came out of her mouth. She held her own throat and looked like she saw a ghost. She grabbed Molly's attention and pointed at her own mouth. Molly then understood the obvious situation.
"STOP!" she shouted.
"Why do you keep yelling?" Libby asked.
"This is exactly what the voices just said would happen!" Molly said while unaware of Libby's question before pointing to each of them. "You're blind, I'm deaf, and you're mute! And the only way to undo this is by leaving or finding that treasure! Do we still want to try!?"
Libby was about to answer when there suddenly came a tremor out of nowhere.
"What's going on!?" Libby cried out.
The tremor was just big enough to cause the entrance to collapse before stopping.
"No!" Molly rushed back up the stairs, but only reached the tenth step. "We're trapped!"
The stones that blocked the way out were big and many, making it impossible to leave. Molly returned to Libby and Andrea.
"Now we have no choice!" she said. "We have to take the long way out!"
Andrea tried using her phone, but she didn't have any bars at all. The girls all reluctantly agreed on their only option. Molly took Libby's hand and all three of them walked down the new stone hall.
One minute before, Scratch was having fun with Molly's phone.
"Yeah, I'm looking for a Mister Bob Walls. Is he there?"
He was told no.
"No? How about Jim Walls?"
He got the same answer.
"Well are there any Walls there?"
Guess what the reply was.
Then Scratch smirked and said "Then how do you hold up your house?" before hanging up and laughing his butt off.
"Oh I'd be killing myself if I wasn't already dead."
His fun was short lived when he noticed the ground shake a little. A few animals ran in fear except for a bird that was killed by a falling branch. The bird's ghost flew away.
"This can't be good."
Then Scratch heard the sound of falling rocks echo through the cave.
"MOLLY! LIBBY!" he screamed. "And maybe Andrea."
He tried to go in after them, but was met by the barrier again.
"Stupid force-field! Don't worry. I'll get you out somehow." Scratch then put Molly's phone to actual use. "Sharon!? Yes I know I'm using Molly's phone! We got a bigger problem!"
Molly, Libby, and Andrea were still walking and unhappy about their recently gained disabilities. At least the phones they had were lighting the way, Libby's being borrowed by Molly. Then they stopped at a new door.
"Why did we stop?" Libby asked.
Andrea tapped Molly's shoulder and pointed at Libby. Molly quickly understood.
"It's just another door!" she said. "Made the same way as the first!"
Molly opened the door and led the others in. Surprisingly, torches on the walls lit up by themselves. However, a few feet ahead of the girls were two optional paths. Molly and Andrea looked at both options and saw two more paths down the left way and three more down the right.
"I think we're in a maze!" Molly said.
Andrea typed something on her phone and showed it to Molly. The phone said "Which way?"
Molly didn't know. There was nothing on the walls, floor, or ceiling that could possibly be a hint.
"We'll just have to wander around randomly!" she decided.
Libby and Andrea had no choice but to agree. They went with the right path first, then took a left. When they started taking another left, Libby heard something odd and stopped. Molly still holding her hand felt her stop and turned around confused.
"What's wrong, Libby!?" she asked.
"Does the floor sound different to you?" Libby replied.
"I can't hear you, remember!?"
Andrea showed Molly what Libby said on her phone and then shook her head.
"Andrea says no!" Molly said.
"Really?" Libby stomped her foot a couple times. "A while ago, the floor sounded normal. But now it sounds... hollow?"
Andrea texted away and showed Molly the message.
"So what!?"
"I don't know. It doesn't make any sense underground. Unless..." Libby suddenly had a thought that scared her. "Keep holding my hand. I want to try something."
Andrea texted again and Molly read again. Libby got in front and slowly moved forward. Molly held Libby's hand tight like she was told. Libby kept moving and could hear an even more hollow sound.
"Please let me be wrong. Please let me be wrong. Please let me be wrong." she muttered.
Suddenly the floor opened and Libby was hanging on for dear life.
"AHHHHH!"
Andrea rushed over and helped Molly pull Libby back up. Libby sat down and had to catch her breath from almost falling to her doom.
"Thanks. I was afraid of that." she said. "This maze has hidden trapdoors all over. My blindness must be letting me hear the floor better since losing one sense strengthens the other four."
Andrea texted once more and Molly read once more.
"I guess this means you're the only one who can lead us through!" Molly said.
Libby nodded and stood up. She led the way down the other path without anyone holding her hand. Sometimes there was a third path like before, but it didn't matter to Libby. Along the way, Andrea counted at least fifteen forks since Libby's discovery. Then after one more safe left turn, they came to a new staircase.
"You did it, Libby!" Molly hugged her bestie. "Now we just have go down some more stairs!"
"Oh thank goodness." Libby said. "I hope that's all the danger we have to worry about."
Molly had a good idea what Libby said and stopped Andrea from texting this time. Together the girls went down the stairs.
Meanwhile, the McGees had just driven to the area with the cave and found Scratch waiting for them.
"Are they still in there!?" Sharon asked.
"If they weren't they'd be right here!" Scratch said.
"You all stay here." Pete said. "I'll go see how serious the damage is."
He entered the cave while Scratch, Sharon, and Darryl all waited, hoping for the best. A few minutes had passed before Pete came back out with a very serious look on his face.
"We're going to need a lot of help."
Molly, Libby, and Andrea had reached the bottom of the stairs and stopped.
"There's another door in front of us!" Molly said to Libby.
They all took a breath and Molly opened the door. This time they were in a single room.
"Where are we now?" Libby asked.
Andrea showed the question to Molly.
"We're in a big room with a huge Japanese painting on the wall! I think it's a picture of the pirates!" Molly said. "But there's a large pit keeping us from getting anywhere near it! There's also a crazy hole-like thing shaped like a big square full of little squares in the opposite wall like what you'd move a shift-stick in!"
Andrea noticed something on the latter wall and removed it. She then tapped Molly's shoulder and showed her a stick with one big end.
"That must be the shift-stick!" Molly said. "Way to go, Andrea!"
However, there was one problem.
"Wait, where do we put it!?"
They couldn't find anything that might tell them where in the square full of squares to install the stick exactly. They were stuck. So they all sat down to think about their conundrum. Minutes had passed and nobody had any ideas. Then Molly took another look at the painting and pondered something.
"I wonder if that picture is a clue!" she said.
Andrea typed a new message and showed it to Molly.
Why do you keep yelling?
"I'm not yelling!?"
Andrea typed again.
Yes you are
"Libby, am I yelling!?"
"You've been yelling since this curse started." Libby said while pointing at her own ears. "When someone loses their hearing, they naturally talk louder to hear their own voice."
Andrea typed the whole thing and showed it to Molly.
"Oh! Sorry! But I still think that picture is important!"
"I may not be able to see it, but I think you're right." Libby said.
Andrea delivered that message too. Molly and Andrea then stared at the picture, looking for anything that could tell them what to do. There seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary at all.
"Is that an arrow!?" Molly asked.
Andrea used her phone to get a better look, but she didn't see any arrows whatsoever. She shook her head.
"There's another one! And another!" Molly kept finding tiny arrows that were well hidden and almost impossible to see. "I knew it!"
Andrea showed Molly a question on her phone.
You knew what?
"It's like Libby said! Losing one sense makes the others stronger! We're each supposed to solve a different area as we are now! Libby's blindness helped us get through the maze! And now I'm going to solve this puzzle with my deafness!"
Molly kept finding more arrows until she was sure there were none left. Now all she had to do was stick the lever in and move it accordingly. However, when she imagined doing the order the way books are read, she wasn't able to find a starting point.
"This can't be right! What am I doing wrong!?" she pondered the problem until she remembered something. "Oh that's right! Asians read from right to left! Or was it top to bottom!?"
Molly double checked with Libby's phone and found that it was traditionally both. Then she imagined the correct order and found the starting point. She installed the stick into the upper left corner and pulled it down, then right, then down thrice, then left, then up, then right twice, then up again, then right, then down, then right again, then up twice, and finally left.
Suddenly, Libby and Andrea heard the sound of a mechanism in the walls. They and Molly looked around until two of them saw the wall with the painting lower into a bridge, revealing the way to yet another hallway.
"Yes! One more room to go and the treasure is ours!" Molly cheered. "It's all up to you now, Andrea!"
As they all crossed the bridge and entered the new hallway, Andrea was beginning to feel a little nervous.
Back at the cave entrance, more people had arrived to help clear the rocks away. One of those people was Leah who was informed of what had happened and had just arrived.
"Where's my baby girl!?" she cried out. "Is she hurt!? Did anybody find her yet!?"
"Woah, Leah!" Pete said with his hands on his shoulders. "We know how you feel and we're scared too, but most people here just got started. The only thing we can do is what we're already doing."
Leah managed to calm down and said "You're right. Let's go find our daughters."
Thus Leah and the McGees went into the cave and got to work with the others. Then a whole bunch more people came led by the Davenports.
"Where's Andrea!?" they asked.
"I'll talk to them." Sharon said.
Back underground, the three girls were still in the new hallway when they approached yet another door.
"Alright, Andrea! Now it's your turn!" Molly said.
Andrea smiled to hide her diminishing confidence. Molly opened the door and led the way inside. The room they entered seemed to be the simplest yet.
"There's a lot of glass boxes with gears in them, a pedestal in the middle of the room also with gears and a crank, and three slots in the right wall with another crank!" Molly explained to Libby.
"Sounds like we're supposed to figure out which three are the keys." Libby said.
Andrea texted Libby's words again and showed Molly.
"Then let's do it!" Molly was full of excitement until she saw Andrea uncharacteristically back away. "Andrea!? What's wrong!?"
Andrea texted her answer which Molly read.
"I can't do this!? Of course you can! Libby and I solved the first two, so you're supposed to solve this one!"
"Molly's right." Libby said. "Besides, compared to us, you got off easy."
Andrea merely shook her head.
"Alright! Libby and I will try to solve it ourselves!" Molly grabbed a random box and put it on the pedestal.
She then turned the crank to see what would happen. To her it only made the gears turn while the others heard said gears make a noise and that was it. Libby felt around and grabbed another box before handing it over to Molly who swapped it with the first and turned the crank again. There were differences, but neither girl could make heads or tails of the puzzle. Then there was another noise.
"Is something happening above us?" Libby asked.
Andrea looked up and was shocked by what she saw. She tapped Molly's shoulder and pointed up. Molly did not like what she saw.
"The ceiling's moving down!" she cried out.
"What!?" Libby shouted. "We must've triggered a trap with a time limit! We've gotta hurry!"
Molly and Libby checked each box as quickly as possible, but they couldn't figure out what they were supposed to look for. While Andrea was watching them, she noticed two things. One was that not all of them looked the same which Molly saw. The other was that not all of them sounded the same which Libby heard. Andrea looked at the three slots, then back at the boxes and suddenly...
...the answer dawned on her. She grabbed a box and moved Molly to the side to start trying herself.
"Andrea!?" Molly was confused, but glad to see her doing her part.
After grabbing another box, Andrea pointed to her eyes and ears at the same time and Molly understood.
"Andrea's got this, Libby!" Molly said.
Every time Andrea tested a box, she placed it into a specific group. However, the ceiling was getting much lower and time was running out. Andrea grabbed the last box and tested it. With that out of the way, she grabbed three boxes that were grouped together and gave two of them to Molly and Libby. The ceiling was less than six feet from the floor as they rushed to the slots, Libby almost going the wrong way. Molly and Andrea quickly inserted their boxes, but Libby couldn't find the third slot. Andrea ran over, grabbed Libby's arms, and helped her put the box in place. The ceiling was close to their heads when Andrea turned the other crank. Shortly afterwards, a secret door opened which Andrea pointed at. She grabbed Libby's hand and all three girls ran for the exit while the ceiling was now too close. Molly was the first to leap out of the room. Then Andrea threw Libby out before jumping out just in time. The ceiling moved the rest of the way instantly.
"Wow, that was a little too close!" Molly said.
She saw Libby say something, but as usual didn't know what. Andrea showed her also as usual.
She wants to know how I knew
"Andrea was watching us and realized that you have to see and hear to figure out which three boxes were right!"
The girls all got up to continue when Molly and Andrea realized something.
"I think we're in the final room!" Molly said. "It looks like another empty cave except for a wall with something on it!"
The girls got closer to the wall to find out what it was. It turned out to be three flat surfaces and nothing more.
"There's nothing on these!" Molly said.
"What? That doesn't make any sense. There has to be something." Libby started feeling the wall for anything suspicious while Andrea showed Molly what she said.
Molly and Andrea knew she was right, so they started doing the same thing. For a while, they found nothing. Then Molly felt something that even she couldn't see.
"I got something!" she said. "It feels like a button!"
She pressed the button and looked around. But alas, nothing happened. She looked at Libby and Andrea who each found a button and pressed it as well. Unfortunately, they got the same results. Molly pondered the problem and thought back to the things they each had to do.
"I've got it!" she realized. "It took all three of us to get this far! That means we have to press the buttons together!"
With no other idea, the girls placed their hands over the secret buttons.
"One!... Two!... THREE!"
They all pressed at the same time. Molly watched, Libby listened, and Andrea did both. A hidden mechanism was activated and the wall opened up like a pair of sliding doors. Molly and Andrea were amazed by what they saw.
"What happened?" Libby asked.
"The wall opened up and now there's a spiral staircase going up and an altar with a little treasure chest on it!" Molly said. "Woooo! Friendship is the key!"
The girls approached the treasure chest and Molly opened it. Instead of treasure, they saw a big flash of light that almost immediately attacked their faces, sending them onto their backs. They all sat up and quickly recovered. Libby blinked a few times and realized what just happened.
"I can see again!" she cheered.
"Ow! Not so loud, Libby." Molly said while covering her ears. "Wait. I can hear again!"
After witnessing both recoveries, Andrea tried speaking.
"Hello?" *Gasp!* "I got my voice back!"
The girls were all happy to be back to being themselves.
"Oh wait. The treasure." Molly said.
They all went back to the treasure chest to see what was inside of it. What they found was not what they expected. All that was inside were three coins and a scroll.
"That's it?" Andrea said. "Good thing I didn't want it."
"What!? Where's the rest of it!? How can there only be three coins!?" Molly was completely baffled.
"Maybe this scroll is a map." Libby picked up the scroll and carefully opened it. "No. I think it's the life story of the pirates. I know I can't read any of this, but I think the pictures can help explain what happened."
They all took a look at the pictures painted beside the Japanese words none of them understood.
"It looks like the three pirates you mentioned were either brothers or friends. At some point, their ship sunk and they might've been the only survivors. They seem to have gotten into a fight with somebody and won, but each of them lost their sight, hearing, or voice like we did, only permanently. Apparently after getting treated by someone, these three coins were all they had left, but they somehow made all of this anyway, designing it so that only they together could get through. I guess the treasure didn't matter to them anymore at the end of their lives, so they..." Libby had to choose her words carefully since Andrea still didn't know about ghosts. "Uhhh, found a way to curse the underground temple so that any three people could have what was once theirs. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like."
"So what happened to us was a good thing?" Andrea asked.
"I guess so."
"Well we may not be able to do much with this." Molly said while picking up the treasure chest. "But at least the museum will have a new piece of Brighton history."
Libby placed the rerolled scroll back in the chest and closed the top.
"I still can't believe that all of this and curses are real." Andrea said. "Now I wonder what else is."
Molly and Libby looked at each other with smug grins.
"Well whatever the answer, we should get out of here." Libby said.
So the girls went up the spiral staircase with Libby in the lead. Molly was the last to ascend the stairs and stopped to see three happy ghosts smile at her. She waved to them before continuing up the stairs.
After Molly caught up with Libby and Andrea, they climbed more steps than ever. Eventually they reached the top, but ended up in a room with a dead end. Luckily there were three levers on the side which obviously needed to be pulled, so they pulled them. The dead end turned out to be a door and the girls found themselves...
...back in the cave where their adventure had begun? Only now there were lots of people staring at them.
"We found them!" a random guy said. "Sort of."
Before anyone could ask anything, the McGees, the Davenports, and Leah rushed over and hugged Molly, Andrea, and Libby respectively.
"Are you alright!?"
"Did you hurt yourself!?"
"We were so worried!"
"What were you doing!?"
"Why did you come here!?"
"Where have you been!?"
Scratch would've done the same, but he was still a secret to most people. The questions and other acts of concern just kept coming until Molly had enough and whistled to make them stop.
"We appreciate all the love, but all the noise is a little too much right now." she said. "We promise we'll explain later."
"What's that you got, Molly?" Darryl asked.
"Oh nothing much, just..." Molly opened the treasure chest. "...the treasure of Brighton. At least what's left of it."
After an interview with the news team, the girls gave what they found to the museum and all went to their own homes. While Libby had to change some of the truth and Andrea chose to leave out the hard to believe curse part, Molly explained everything to Scratch and the McGees.
"Then just after we pulled the levers and opened the final door... we ended up back where we started."
"Wow. Makes me glad I didn't go on that wild goose chase after all." Scratch commented. "Though it still didn't seem right keeping other ghosts from entering."
"They must've wanted to keep their rivals away." Molly guessed.
"What was it like being deaf?" Darryl asked.
"It was... scary." Molly admitted. "Even though Libby and Andrea were there, I still felt like I was trapped by myself. Libby was pretty scared too without her sight. I'm not sure about Andrea. But on the plus side, I think our adventure managed to bring the three of us closer as best friends."
"Hey!" Scratch said.
"Sorry, Scratch. It's too bad I couldn't help Brighton or our family with the treasure."
"You don't always need money to help people, Molly." Pete said.
"And we'd rather be poor than lose you." Sharon added.
Molly gave her parents a big hug and thanked them from the bottom of her heart.
Author's Note: Bet you didn't expect this to be what my previous hint meant. Anyway, this particular curse is based on a picture of the three girls on DeviantArt with the exact same facial parts being covered. Interestingly and as far as I know, the whole blind, deaf, and mute thing has only happened in two shows and a video challenge. Part of me wishes that I had them interacting with other Brightonians during the curse, but this was the only situation I could come up with for it. And the problems for each of them to solve were even harder to come up with. Also I only recently realized that curses in this show usually have rhymes, so I'll try to work on that. And yes, the three wise monkeys are originally japanese. I checked.
On a side note: I know it's been a while since it happened, but I'm still amazed that it happened! One of my curse ideas actually happened and I don't mean just the idea without the curse like before! Obviously there are some differences, but I am way too satisfied to care! Not to mention the episode is so much fun to watch!
Next time, somebody's suggestion is finally coming true.
