This day sucks! I was having a nice peaceful morning until that asshole started saying that I have attitude issues! Who is he to tell me I have issues?! If anyone has issues it's him!

The drinking.

The stealing.

The "Family" talks.

And sleeping with a bird prevert.

Why is nobody on his ass about his issues?! It just made me so mad that I couldn't control myself when I bounced on him then…he said that he might replace me. I was taken aback by that, he had never said those words to me before. When he first brought me home, yeah, I was convinced he would get rid of me eventually but after five years of my crap, he kept me and gained my trust.

Should I still trust him after he said that? I don't know. I know he didn't really mean it but it still hurt. Then he has the balls to ask me to help find his boyfriend's daughter when it is mostly his fault that she got the book in the first place?!

I mean, I might have not done anything when I saw her walk into his office but come on, I didn't know what she was doing, she didn't seem like a threat to me and I told Blitz to change that password on his safe a million times! Any idiot can guess, 1,2,3,4! So, yeah, it's his fault that this girl is lost in the human world, not mine!

So, I am not looking for her! Fuck you, Blitz! Fix your own goddamn messes for a change!...ok, my anger is starting to get to me…I need to chill out. Maybe a walk around the city will do me some good.

I 'borrowed' a cup of coffee from a coffee shop and took a walk down the street, looking on social media when a poster on a window caught my eye. It was a sick looking owl with blue flames. I thought it was pretty cool so I decided to take a picture and post it. I then scrolled through other people's photos and I nearly choked on my coffee when I saw an owl girl standing in front of the same poster that I just posted.

I looked around the street but I didn't see her anywhere. Then I scrolled through more photos, apparently she's taking photos everywhere she goes and posting them. One of them caught my attention and I read what she wrote under the photo.

Found a cool looking castle, it reminds me of home…

She sure as hell didn't look happy in the picture. I may be 22 but my teen language was still spot on. Judging by the girl's face and the words she used, I'd say that home is not 'cool' at all. Probably the reason she ran away in the first place. I don't know much about Stolas or his family but from what Blitz told me, his wife is not at all pleasant and they have been fighting ever since Blitz slept with that bird.

I growled a bit irritated. Just like Blitz to do something and not think of how it can affect others! Poor girl must be going through a lot at home…

Well, what do I do now? Do I just say "Fuck it" and continue on my way or do I go look for her? It took me a minute, I really didn't want to look for her just to spite Blitz but a part of me felt for this girl, so I decided to look for her.

Ugh! It took me hours but I finally found Octavia. She was sitting on a ledge, crying and my heart broke for her. I turned back into my real form before going up to her. "Hey." I said, I didn't really know how to start, I'm not good at the whole…feelings thing. "Hey." Octavia replied. "How did you find me?"

I smirked while pulling out my phone. "Your cystogram. Nice pics by the way."

"Thanks." Octavia said with a little smile before frowning again. "You ok?" I asked while putting my phone back in my pocket. Octavia scoffed. "I can't believe I was so stupid. I spent all day looking for a place where I can see some dumb meteorshower…" She started to cry again and buried her head in her knees. "And all I get is this."

I stared up at the foggy sky. "Yeah, smog's a bitch." I said before pulling a smoke that I hope would calm my nerves. I tried to light it but of course, the stupid lighter wouldn't work! Thankfully, Octavia lit it for me with her magic. "You know, your dad is really worried about you." I said before sitting on the ledge next to her.

Octavia laughed bitterly. "Right! That's why you're here instead of him! He couldn't be bothered to keep his promise and now he can't be bothered to come and get me himself." She then glared out into the distance. "He rather spent his time just screaming at my mum." She looked at me, her big pink eyes full of sadness. "Why does he hate her more than he loves me?"

Man, this kid sounds like she's going through a lot. I looked out into the distance, memories of my past resurfacing.

"BLITZ, WHAT THE FUCK?!" I yelled at the drunk Blitz who was in my bedroom with some woman. "O-Oh, hey-hey Loonie." I glared at him. "This is why you didn't show up to my fucking graduation even though you made a huge big deal about it?!" Blitz blinked a couple times. "That was today?" I growled while walking out and slamming the door.

"Lonnie, sweetie I'm-!" Blitz was cut off when he entered the room to see Loona eating a piece of cake with Moxxie and Millie. "Oh…so you..uh..already started the party, huh?" I gritted my teeth. "We waited for you Blitz! We waited for hours for you to show up to my stupid lame ass fucking birthday party! It's practically midnight, my birthday is over now!" Blitz looked guilty. "I'm sorry, Loonie, I tried to get here as fast as I could but Stolas-"

"Argh! You don't even like that stupid bird! Whatever, I don't really care!" I yelled before storming out.

"If I'm so terrible how about you just grow a pair and replace me!" I yelled while grabbing Blitz by the front of his shirt. "Ok, well maybe I…maybe I might." I blinked in surprise. "What?" Blitz looked at Moxxie who gave him a thumbs up before he looked back at me sternly. "Maybe I will, little missy! That's right, it's tough love time so you can..go-go to your desk!" I gave him a threantly glare before throwing him to the ground.

I took a puff of smoke and sighed it out. "Sometimes…Sometimes it's not as simple as that. This kinda shit gets messy and everyone has issues…especially dads." Octavia looked at me through teary eyes as I continued. "And sometimes they fuck up. Well." I scoffed. "All the time. That doesn't mean they don't care."

"If he cares where is he?" Octavia asked and I pointed towards the city. "He's somewhere down there." Octavia wiped her eyes and looked at me with a bit of hope. "He's here?"

"Looking for you." I said seriously before I started to play with my lighter. "I mean, try to cut your dad some slack. He may not always get it right but he's trying." I said while staring at the lighter as I looked at the I.M.P logo on it which made me smile.

Blitz gave me this lighter on the day that he had finally earned my trust.

"Why do I have to work for you again?" I asked bitterly as we walked into the I.M.P building. Blitz looked at me with a teasing smile. "Well, I thought you didn't want to live with me forever and the only way to do that is to earn some good old fashion mula."

"So, how much do I get paid?"

"7." Blitz replied. "THAT'S IT?! I could find money like that on the street! That's how much you pay to kill people?!" Blitz chuckled. "No! You aren't killing anyone Loonie, it's too dangerous, you're going to be my receptionist. You know, answering phone calls and giving us the information, sounds like an easy job for you, right?"

I sighed, knowing I would never be able to move out until I'm in my 30s which means I'm stuck with this asshole until then. Blitz has been good to me, sure but I refuse to let my guard down, it's only a matter of time before he calls it quits. I'm surprised he made it this long.

We walked in the office to see two imps snuggling each other. I gagged at the sight. "M meet Loona!" Blitz introduced.

"So, you're the famous Loona we've been hearing so much about! Hi, I'm Millie, it's nice to meet you!" Millie said with a huge smile but I just scowled at her. "Can't say the same for you." Millie's smile dropped and Moxxie walked up to her. "Uh…Hi, I'm Moxxie."

I looked Moxxie up and down before scowling at Blitz. "So, I can't kill people but this weak looking imp can?! He looks like he would lose a fight to a cat!"

"HEY!" Moxxie shouted while Blitz laughed. "I know he doesn't look like much,Loonie but he is a great shot." Moxxie stood proud. "Thank you." I smirked. "So, you're saying that he is great at being a sniper but is useless in an actual fight?"

Blitz hummed. "Yeah, pretty much."

"HEY!"

"Moxxie, calm down." Millie said before looking back at me and Blitz. "So, what are you doing here Loona?" I was about to answer but Blitz did for me. "She's our new receptionist!"

"You are going to let this wild animal work the phones?! I mean, I can understand if you want to hire her to work with us on the field but I don't think having her stay all day in the office is-"

"Moxxie, who is the boss here?" Blitz interrupted and Moxxie looked at him confused. "Uh, you, sir."

"And who makes all the decisions?"

Moxxie sighed. "You, sir."

"Exactly! So get your ass back to work while I show Loonie around!" Moxxie rolled his eyes but did as he was told with Millie following. "Yes, sir." Once they were gone, Blitz turned around only to find his 'precious daughter' gone. "Wha-! Lonna?! Loona?! LOOOONAAAAA!!!!!"

Of course I heard Blitz calling my name, I mean who couldn't with all that shouting. What was I thinking? Working with Blitz. They obviously didn't want me and that little Moxxie bastard was right. I won't be good on the phones, I belong on the streets, fighting and stealing…it's all I'm good at and all I will ever be good at…

"Hey!" A street hound called, I kept my head down and tried to ignore him but he roughly grabbed my wrist. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" I growled and tried to pull away. "Let go of me, asshole!"

He grinned at me. "You are a nice looking thing…how about you and I have a little fun." I snapped my jaws at him but he didn't even flinch. "I'm not some kind of whore! Let go!" That seemed to anger him and he roughly pinned me to the wall making me cry out in pain. I struggled but he just grabbed my neck with one hand while the other went towards my sipper. My eyes widened in horror before I squeezed them shut awaiting my fate when suddenly- *click*

"Hey asshole!" My eyes snapped open at the familiar voice and I looked to see Blitz holding his gun. "I think she told you to fuck off!"

"What? Who are you?! Get out of here little man, this has nothing to do with you!" Blitz glared at him. "It has everything to do with me! That young girl you're strangling is my daughter and if you don't let her go by the time I count to five, you'll have a bullet in your skull!" The hound scoffed a laugh. "Daughter? You don't look like a hound to me."

Blitz growled and rolled his eyes. "Adoption numb-nuts! Ever heard of it?! Now, I'm not going to say it again! Let. Her. Go."

"I'm not afraid of pathetic little im-*Bam!* The hound didn't get to finish his sentence when Blitz shut a bullet through his head, making him fall and me fall with him. I landed on the hound's chest before quickly getting off and hugging myself.

Blitz was immediately by my side. "Loona, are you ok?! Why did you run off like that?! This neighborhood is more fucked up then ours! You can get killed out here if you don't know your way around!" I looked at him with disbelief. "You…You saved me?"

Blitz scoffed. "Of course I saved you! Why wouldn't I?!" I looked down. "Why Blitz? I don't understand why you…After everything I do to you, you still…" Blitz stared at me for a minute before sighing, putting his gun away and sitting next to me. "How long is it going to be like this, Loona? It's been three years now and I haven't given you any reason not to trust me. I understand it's hard to trust people after all the shit others have done to you. Believe me…I know. I've been where you are and all I want is to help you. To do for you what no one did for me…give you a chance at a good life and a good family. I love you Loona, I really do but I can't help you if you can't trust me. I know I'm asking for a lot but…do you think you could at least try to trust me?"

I looked into Blitz's eyes which held nothing but his love for me. He really means it. This man tries his damn hardest to get me to trust him and he never seems to give up, even after three years of my shit. Maybe…maybe it won't be so bad if I let my guard down a little. Maybe I can trust him. I don't know much from Blitz's past but from the stories I've heard about him on the streets, he's been in a lot of shit long before he met me and as much as it pains me to admit it…we are a lot alike in many ways. Two broken souls who are just trying to survive and get their lives back on track.

I sighed. "Ok…I'll…try." Blitz smiled. "Good. Oh! Here!" He handed me a lighter with the I.M.P logo on it. "Now you officially work for the I.M.P! Welcome to the club, Lonnie!" I snorted. "Really Blitz? A lighter?" Blitz shrugged. "It's better than what I gave Moxxie when I hired him."

"What did you give him?" I asked and he looked at me with a smirk before whispering in my ear. I barked in laughter. "OH MY GOD!! BlITZ!!!" Blitz laughed as well. "What?! I thought he'd like it!"

As I came out of my flashback, I looked at Octavia with a smile. "That's more important than you think." Octavia looked at me as though she understood when suddenly the moon shined on us. I smiled and threw my smoke away before getting up, offering my hand to Octavia. "Ready to go?"

Instead of her hand, she gave me the book instead before getting up. "Yeah." I smiled at her and she hugged me which threw me off guard but I slowly returned it. Then I opened the portal back to the city and ironically, I managed to open one right where Blitz would be.

"Loona! Oh, Loona, my sweet baby girl! I'm so sorry, I'll never replace you no matter what you-!" He got cut off when I kicked him in the balls and I stood straight smirking. "We're good."

I looked at Octavia and Stolas as they talked and I smiled when they hugged each other. I was happy that they worked everything out. Blitz tried to hug me as well but I hit him in the face with the book before he could even get close, I smiled when I did it though.

When we went home, Blitz apologized to me again and promised that he'll do anything to make it up to me. He didn't even need to apologize, I've already forgiven him. I was trying to help Octavia realize how lucky she is to have such a loving father but I realized some things as well. Blitz might have said he would get rid of me but I know he never will because I remembered why I trusted him in the first place. He needed me and I needed him because two broken souls…can't survive on their own.
