Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean scene which I always loved as a child. Don't worry though, Hiccstrid will be getting a proper wedding oneshot.

Grimmel successfully stole almost all of Berk's dragons. They all watched from the cliff as his armada began to set sail. Hiccup's pulse was racing, not only from the new crazy plan he concocted in his head but also from replaying Astrid's pep talk.

She did it again. This wasn't the first time she had to snap him out of his funk far from it, she'd been actively coming up with this stuff for six years now. However, this time something burst in his chest. All the pieces clicked together and he realized that Astrid was the only sure thing in his life. His steady partner in everything.

He ordered his mom to round up all the ships in their possession to launch a sea attack while the six would arrive by air. Once again, Astrid was beside him as he jumped off the cliff.

They landed on the closest ship. Firefights broke out between dragons and ships and Berk's ships sailed toward them for battle.

"Do we have a plan here?" Snotlout asked as hunters moved to intercept them.

"Uh...try not to die."

Snotlout nodded, "Oh great. Yeah, now that's a plan." Sarcasm dripped from his tone. His next smart remark was drowned out by the clash of iron of a hunter's sword.

The odds felt overwhelming not in their favor. Hiccup slashed his way to the center of the deck. He tried to keep tabs on the rest of the riders, but it was nearly impossible in the chaos. Deftly moving to the side, he avoided taking an arrow in the chest. He felt his face become tacky with sweat and blood.

He spotted Ruff and Tuff double-teaming to throw someone overboard. Fishlegs ducked just in time to avoid taking a bludgeon to the head and lucky enough, it smashed another hunter who was trying to sneak up on him. Snotlout just finished off smashing another with his hammer.

His heart constricted when he couldn't spot Astrid. He berated himself in his mind that he should've stayed with her.

The closest person to him was Fishlegs.

"Fishlegs! Where's Astrid?"

His heavy-set friend whimpered when making another kill. "I think I saw her heading to the bow!"

Hiccup took off in that direction. Berk's ships have fully joined in the battle. The ship would shake dangerously as it was being pelted with catapults. Countless scenarios ran through his mind. What if she was hurt? What if she was tossed overboard? What if she's gone? He forced himself to quicken his pace, not focusing on hunters trying to fight him.

There she was surrounded by men, several bodies were already strewn around her. She crippled one man who went down with a cry. Carrying her momentum, the butt of her axe easily broke another's nose. Hiccup dumbly watched her take down three other hunters. It looked like she wasn't breaking a sweat. He swore time slowed down, watching her fight. He knows he must look stupid with his mouth curved into a lovesick smile.

His ears picked up yelling that was getting louder. His head whipped to his right seeing a hunter charging straight at him. Suddenly his vision was blocked. He flinched hearing the familiar sound of a skull cracking. Snotlout had intercepted the hunter and ran him down with a shield. He shifted enough that Hiccup saw the blood rushing out of his head and staining the wood underneath.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Snotlout berated him.

Hiccup inhaled a deep breath: refocusing, "Sorry! I got distracted. Thanks for the save!"

"Don't do anything stupid!" His cousin yelled at his retreating figure.

Hiccup jabbed his sword through another hunter as he made his way to Astrid. Hunters were circling her but Hiccup made sure to pick off the ones coming up her rear. He forced himself into her space.

"Fancy meeting you here." He told her once they were safely back to back.

She tried to catch his eye and teased back, "What took you so long?"

Astrid sliced another's stomach open and at the same time, Hiccup sliced open someone else's chest.

He whirled around to grab Astrid's forearm. "Astrid! I know this might be crazy but marry me."

"What?" Her eyebrows were scrunched and her mouth hung open. "I don't think now is the best time." She ducked in time to feel a sword slice above her. Hiccup jabbed over Astrid straight into the hunter's gut.

"Now might be the only time." He grunted, blocking a sword from skewering him. His right arm wrapped around her waist as he swung his sword over her shoulder to dispatch another enemy. "I know what I want. What about you?"

Astrid searched his eyes to see no reservations. His green eyes were so expressive and could never hide what he was feeling inside. Over the years, Astrid became a master at reading them.

"Tuffnut!"

Hiccup's face turned sour, his mouth shaping her words silently.

"Marry us!"

His eyebrows raised in understanding. Tuffnut had finished completing the proper rites to become a part-time godi after they came back from the Edge.

Tuffnut was perched on a railing, fending off two hunters with a spear. "Uh, I'm a little busy at the moment!"

Astrid blocked another sword from hitting Hiccup as he took care of another hunter.

"Any day now Tuff!" Hiccup yelled as he had to separate from Astrid to get more breathing room.

Tuffnut knocked a man overboard. "Alright! Alright! AllFather! Bare witness to the bonding of these two warriors!" He ended it by piercing a man in the chest.

Hiccup spun away from an axe, slicing along the enemy's side and facing Astrid once more.

"Astrid Hofferson, do you swear in front of all the gods that you want to be my wife?"

The same hands that condemned many to death gently swiped away some blood on his cheek. "I do."

Hiccup took her by the arms to swing to the other side.

"Do you Hiccup Haddock swear to the gods that you want to be my husband?"

He came back around again to take her by the hand. "I do."

They both wore matching silly grins on their faces. Hiccup's eyes widened at a hunter yelling as he came behind Astrid with his sword arching down. His hand on her shoulder roughly pushed her down and she twirled on the balls of her feet to take him out at the waist. They were forced to separate.

Hiccup danced away from several men. One swinging a sword into the wooden mast where Hiccup's head used to be. His weapon was now lodged in the wood which made it easy for Hiccup to finish him off. Astrid took off toward the starboard bow.

"Now would be a good time for the rings H!" Tuffnut's voice broke through the sounds of yelling and screaming.

"Right!" He had some breathing room to reach into his suit. He made these weeks ago before everything that went down with Grimmel. Hiccup scanned for hints of blonde hair, they were separated by what felt like a sea of hunters. It was going to be a battle to get to her but he didn't want to wait.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ruffnut flying in on a rope to one of the masts, a war cry spouting from her lips.

He waited until she sailed right above him to toss the ring in the air. "Ruff! Catch!"

"Aw! Hiccup you shouldn't have!"

Her ride came to an end and before momentum swung her back the other way, she deposited the ring to Fishlegs. His surprised scream had him fumbling to corral with ring into his grasp.

"Oh, Thor! Oh, Thor!"

"Throw it over Fishface!" Snotlout called.

He was the one closest to Astrid. Fishlegs muttered a quick prayer that his aim was true. The ring flew in what felt like slow motion. Snotlout used a barrel as his launch point to snag the ring in the air. "Ha hahaha! Snotlout!"

Snotlout fought his way over to her, killing a man who was about to stab Astrid in the back. She reeled around to face him as he had the ring pinched between his thumb and forefinger. "I told you I would give you a ring someday." He winked but his voice was tinged with something heavier than the normal teasing tone he would usually have.

The corner of her lips rose, not finding it in her heart to rebuke him. She took comfort in their banter noticing his more serious tone that he was just as happy to see her married to his cousin.

Meanwhile, Hiccup fought tooth and nail to get back over there. His vision tunneled at slicing and dicing his enemies. Astrid had pulled away from Snotlout and she too was fighting to get back to Hiccup.

"By the power invested in by the gods, I now pronounce you united in heart and spirit!" Tuffnut yelled. "You may—" He dodged an axe coming his way. "You may kiss—" He kicked a guy straight in the face. "Just kiss!"

Hiccup and Astrid met in the middle as they registered their weapons clashing with each other. Both were panting with exhaustion. Hiccup pulled her in by her arm and her unoccupied hand cradled his jaw.

At first, all he could taste was the metallic taste of blood but underneath all that was so distinctly Astrid. The others half watched on in varying degrees of attention. Only Hiccup and Astrid would be able to get away with something as crazy as a wedding in the middle of this mayhem.

Their lips separated with a wet smack, as both of them ran out of breath.

Hiccup's mouth formed his dorky smirk, "I can't wait for our honeymoon."

Astrid blocked a sword up high and allowed Hiccup to lunge and stab the hunter in the stomach.

"Let's survive this battle first Babe."
