They walked into Enchanted Village together, lanyards around their necks and Sara screamed as a man with white face paint slid out of the shadows on his knees and stood up in front of her. He gave her a grin, and waved as he laughed.
"Hi!" He said, turning on his toes and he started running to slide in front of other guests entering the Park and made them scream. She laughed, and Loki shifted to the side as the man skidded by him again to scare more people. He joined their group, and she laughed as a woman skidded past them and she stopped in front of another group and popped up and laughed as she moved away. She was excited, and her eyes followed everything as she felt giddy and Emily took pictures. She had never been here before, or to The Fair, and now she was here.
She was living, and it was freeing.
"Are you okay?" Mark asked, and she smiled and nodded. They moved into the park, and through the crowds as people parted and some ran away from a Clown wielding a chainsaw. Sara laughed, and Loki grabbed her arm and shouted as another Clown popped up from the bushes and made them all scream.
"Gotcha!" The clown shouted, and Sara laughed as she came down from the scare. The whole group was laughing and Robert hugged Mark from behind, lifting him off the ground.
"I forget that you are strong for a skinny guy." Mark laughed, and Loki shook his head as Robert grabbed him behind the knees and lifted him up bridal style and Sara took a picture for the hallway wall. Loki started laughing harder, and he threw his arms out and grinned for the next picture.
"Yeah, it is the skinny guy curse. We can't build bulk, but we somehow manage to be stronger than expected." Robert laughed, putting Loki down. Sara walked over as he straightened his black, wool coat. Her hand found his, and they got into line for the roller coaster, and Sara leaned over the railing to shout for Emily to catch up.
"You all move too fast! You gotta slow down!" She groaned, and Loki raised an eyebrow. He crossed his arms, and Mark grinned at her.
"Maybe you should take up some exercises, Sara is getting a pretty nice ass on her from those weights." Amy said, and Sara laughed as she looked back at her denim clad ass. She did notice that her body was becoming more toned in the right places, and that she was actually getting a very nice shape to her. Emily slapped her butt, and she yelped, Robert laughing as Sara rubbed the spot.
"Careful, I like it rough bitch." Sara warned, and Loki snorted as he crossed his arms and grinned. They all shuffled forward, and Mark nudged him in the ribs and winked at him.
"I have made a mental note of that information, trust me." Loki quipped, and Sara's mouth fell open in shock. He grinned down at her, and she blushed, trying not to hide her face. They moved forward again, and she collected herself as she looked around at the decorations and sights.
This was another place Darla forbid her to go with her friends, calling it trashy and cheap. She liked it, there were smells of different food offerings coming from the vendor stands, and the sounds of people having fun, the music in the background, all of it was exciting. In the distance, there was a demented laugh, followed by a scream of terror, and then another laugh.
She never could understand how Darla rated things, and just figured she was a miserable person with nothing that could make her happy.
A group of teenagers laughed together in front of them, and Sara watched as they play slapped at eachother. One turned around, and looked at her, holding out his phone.
"Could you take a group picture of us?" He asked, and Sara took the phone and they all grouped together. They wanted a serious one, and then they started making faces at the camera to be funny. She handed the boy his phone back, and they laughed as they looked at their silly picture. "Thanks!"
"Your welcome." Sara replied, and she felt someone poke her side closest to the railing she was behind for the line and she looked over. There was no one there, and Mark snickered as he tried to look like he was innocent. Emily slapped his chest, and he opened his mouth in pain and held the spot she hit.
"Stop being a dork and picking on Bugs." Emily said, and he rubbed his pectoral muscle. Sara saw Emily's annoyance, and she silently hoped that they were not going to get into a fight.
"You got my nipple, that shit is the Sea Tac Airport of nerve endings." He groaned and Robert laughed and crossed his arms. Mark lifted his shirt, and two girls walking past giggled as they saw him. Emily pulled his shirt back down, narrowing her eyes at the girls and giving Mark a look that spelled argument.
"I thought your dick was where all the nerves in your body were T.D." Robert joked, and Sara laughed at them. Loki shook his head, snorting again in amusement as he tied his hair into a tail down his back. Emily gave it a tug, and he grinned at her as she wagged a finger at him.
"Get a haircut ya hippie, you look like you snort the marajuana." She teased, and he laughed and shook his head. Robert crossed his arms, and Mark grabbed her hand and held it.
"No taunting the God of Michief Irish. His hair, his choice." He said, and Loki gave him a fist bump. Sara grinned, and stepped up on her toes to give him a peck to the corner of his mouth and he grinned. She turned around, and she crossed her arms at Emily as she raised an eyebrow.
"I like his hair, if he cuts it, I may cry." She said, and Loki put his arms around her from behind. She snuggled her back into his chest, giggling in excitement as Emily gave Mark another look. Sara held onto his hands, and he kissed the part in her hair. He liked doing that, and she never complained. He gave affection his way, and she ate it up.
"I better keep it long then, you crying would be a tragedy." He said, and she giggled as they shuffled forward again. Robert lifted her off her feet, pulling her from Loki, and she giggled as a scary clown walked by and she squealed.
"I got one for you! Come get her!" Robert laughed, and Sara laughed, her feet off the ground in her Doc Martin boots with purple glitter and she squealed. The clown walked over, sizing Sara up, and he lifted her foot as she screamed. The clown let it go, shaking his head.
"Too short, I need them taller." He said, and Sara felt her feet hit the ground again. She giggled, and Loki put his arms around her shoulders and grinned.
"Our turn guys, look alive." Amy said, and they walked up the stairs and onto the platform to be sorted into spaces. Sara and Loki were told to wait in the middle, and Mark shot her a grin as Emily said something to him that got his attention. Sara sighed, and looked down and Loki rested a hand in her back.
"I am having a wonderful time, if it makes you feel better." He said, and Sara smiled up at him. The empty train came to a halt in front of them, and Sara and Loki sat in their car and an attendant came by and lowered their shoulder restraints. Loki looked around his at her, and the bar came across their laps.
"I guess we are on for the ride now." She said, and they were moved forward along the track. They were pulled up slowly, and she began to feel giddy as she sat back against the seat and giggled in excitement. They paused as they crested the climb, and Sara felt her stomach lift as they plummeted over the edge of the hill and she screamed as they went. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she threw her hands up with the rest of the riders and screamed as they went through a loop, and were upside down. By the end, her heart was pounding and she was laughing as she looked over a Loki. His hair was blown back, and falling over his cheeks, his eyes shining and he had a huge grin on his face.
"That was great fun!" He said, and she laughed as they got off the ride and were ushered to the exit. He laughed, lifting her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist, and she giggled as he turned with her against his chest. "What a thrill! Did your stomach rise when you went over a crest too?"
"It did! It was so exciting!" She laughed, and she saw the realization in his eyes that they had experienced something together for the first time. He smiled up at her, and she rested her hands on his shoulders and kissed him. He returned it, and it made her more giddy than the ride ever could have. She giggled, and looked at his face and saw the genuine happiness in it as she smiled back.
"What should we do now?" He asked her, and she shrugged as Emily and Mark stepped off the ride, and she looked really unhappy with Mark. He set her down, and she felt her heart sink as she saw the both of them talking in low voices.
"We brought the Mercedes, we could sneak off and do something else while those two quit fighting." She suggested, and she grabbed his hand and pulled him through the park. He ran after her, and they came to a mirror maze, and they got in line. She smiled, and she looked up to see his eyes scanning the area, and she heard someone scream in the background again as another actor startled a patron.
He bent down to kiss her, and she smiled as his lips brushed hers, a butterfly dancing around her stomach at the contact. She blushed and they were ushered into the door by an attendant, and she stared at herself from multiple angles. She held her hands in front of her, being careful not to walk into one of the mirrors, and Loki smiled behind her. They laughed as they looked at themselves in a distorted mirror that made them both look very thin, and she squealed as she watched him put his hand out to see if the way in front of them was clear.
"Be careful, don't walk into any of them." She laughed, and her phone chirped. She took a picture of the both of them, and sent it in response to Mark's questioning where they were. She laughed, putting her phone back into her pocket, and she felt her hands meet glass as they walked. Loki and she walked through the maze, their hands out and they soon found the exit. They walked into the park, and found three of the other four, waiting for them.
"You could have told us, but no, you had to go and wander around without us." Emily snapped at her, and her smile faded. She arms crossed, and she glared at Sara. "Get a boyfriend, and just ditch us. I see how it is."
"I... I wasn't thinking... sorry. I got excited, and couldn't wait to... I am sorry." Sara muttered, and her eyes lowered as she felt her heart sink. She bit at her lower lip, and looked at the angry redhead. "I... I really am."
"Emily, this is not fair to her." He said, and put an arm between the two friends. Sara felt tears blooming, and she blinked to keep them back.
"Sara paid for all of us to come and have fun, nice one Irish." Amy said, and Loki lowered his arm and Sara backed up. He crossed his arms, obviously upset with Emily attacking her and she turned her head and saw everyone in the group staring. She took Loki's hand, and gave it a tug.
"I think we should just go home." Sara said, and he shook his head. He pulled her back, and gave her an incredulous look. "Really, I want to go. Let them have fun, and we can watch a movie or something."
"Sara, we are not leaving. You have been excited for this for days, you talked about this event non stop. Stay, and have the evening you were wanting." He said, and shot a look at Emily. Sara looked at her friend, and her mouth fell open and she looked at Mark. "She wanted this evening more than anything, to spend it with the people she trusted. She wanted nothing more, then for all of us to have a grand time and laugh together. I am disappointed in you, because, you took a bit of joy away from her all due to the fact that you are in a poor mood."
"I was mad at Mark, we made up, but I thought you guys ditched us." Emily said, and walked over and hugged Sara. Sara returned the hug, and Robert walked over with some snacks and energy drinks. He looked at them, and became confused. "Sorry Bugs. I want you to stay, wanna see if we can make Loki puke on The Scrambler?"
"You are so mean." Sara laughed, and she shrugged and nodded from the questioning look Emily was giving her. "We are cool again, Bitch."
"You bet your ass." She replied and Sara laughed.
"I got us sugar on a stick, and caffeine. Everything cool?" Robert asked, and Amy took a canned Monster from him, and Loki pulled a tuft of the cotton candy from the stick. Emily hugged her again, and they parted to see a female clown standing beside them and they both screamed.
"Isn't that cute? Why don't you both kiss?" She said, cackling as they retreated and laughed. Mark doubled over, and Loki took a drink of the Monster in his hand and cringed.
"My teeth hurt from how sweet that is!" He exclaimed, and he handed it to Sara and watched her take a drink of it and giggle. Robert gave her a cone of Cotton Candy and she giggled as Loki took a pinch of it.
"Welcome to Earth buddy. What do we want to do next?" Mark asked, and they all pointed toward the Haunted House and Sara giggled as they walked toward it. Loki put his arm around her, and she leaned against him.
"Is everything better again?" Loki asked her, lifting her chin, she gave him a nod and she giggled as they walked along after their friends. They got into the line, waiting to go through and ate the candy and passed the energy drink back and forth.
--‐--
They all laughed, leaving the park, and walking to their cars. Sara dug through her pockets, finding her keys and Loki carried a bag with some shirts they picked out for themselves. She shivered, and a low fog had begaun to roll across the parking lot as everyone walked.
"Tonight was great Bugs, sorry again for being a bitch." Emily said, and Loki smiled as Sara leaned close to her friend in a half hug. Mark threw his arms above his head, and began walking like a gorilla again. Loki laughed at his immaturity. Robert carried Amy on his back, she smiling as they made their way through the crowd of people leaving.
"I'm glad we all had fun, even if there was a hiccup." Sara replied, and she held the key to the car in her hand. A few rows back, there was some shouting. Sara turned, and her mouth fell open in panic. Loki looked back, and his eyes went wide at the scene. One man had a gun raised, and the other was pulling his from the waistband of his pants.
"Duck!" Emily shouted, grabbing his shirt and coat, pulling him behind a car as gunshots began echoing around them. Loki grabbed Emily, holding her as he crouched behind Mark's Jeep and she screamed as Mark joined them. His eyes darted around, and he couldn't find Sara or the rest. He looked over the hood of the vehicle, and couldn't find them. Only seeing the bag where he dropped it, and people running.
The sound was like loud explosions, and some people ran past them to get away. He heard screams, and someone calling for help. Horror hitting him, as he realized that Sara was still nowhere to be seen. He looked around the vehicle, and his eyes darted about as more gunshots went off, and a car shrieked away, only to collide with another vehicle and the horn began to blare. People screamed in fear, some in pain, and he couldn't find Sara, Robert, or Amy.
"Sara!" He shouted, running between cars, and he checked between the parked vehicles. "Robert!"
"Over here! We are fine!" Robert said, and he was consoling a shaken up Amy. He looked around him, and began to panic. "Where is Bugs!"
Loki didn't think, he ran along the parked cars, searching between them as Robert followed after. He saw movement between two vehicles, and saw a dark skinned man huddled over his child, protecting him. He nodded, and turned when he heard another scream.
"Sara!" He called out, and he saw her. He let out a long breath, his hands shaking and he moved toward her.
Sara stood up, holding onto the hood of a car for support. She looked pale, her jeans torn and her knee bleeding. She held some napkins from her purse to it, applying pressure. He hurried over, and Amy looked at her scrape and she let Sara hold the napkins until it stopped.
"I tripped when I lost Robert and ran, I'm okay. I ruined my jeans. Was anyone else else hit?" She asked, and Loki held her face in both of his hands. He studied her pale blue eyes, his hands running over her hair. She was shaking like a leaf, and her lips was trembling as she wrapped her arms around him. He held her back, and she clung to his coat.
"Are you sure? You are not injured any worse?" He asked her and she nodded, but began shaking from the scare. He took his coat off, putting it around her as sirens sounded in the distance and he stood in his sweater. She hugged it around her, and he moved quickly and held her to his chest and cradled the back of her head.
"I'm fine." She said softly, and he still held her as engines roared and flashing lights from Police vehicles surrounded the lot. Two Officers ran through the parking lot, and one stopped and put his hand on his arm.
"Any of you hurt?" He asked, and Loki shook his head. The Officer looked at Sara and he gave a nod and pointed toward their vehicles. "Unless you are a direct witness, we need you to go ahead a leave the area." He said, and he guided Sara toward the car they arrived in. Mark and Robert met them, and they hugged each other. Emily wiped her face with her hands, tears dotting her cheeks and she hugged Sara.
"I though you got shot... the way Loki ran to go find you. I... I got scared." She said, hugging her friend, Sara hugged her back. Robert ran his hand through his hair, and he let out a cleansing breath. Amy handed Sara the keys she dropped, and Loki picked up the dropped bag.
"I am just glad we are all okay, that was definately scary." Mark said, and he gave a nervous laugh. "I know we paid to be scared, but I did not expect that level of fear. Good old Felony Way."
"Sara definately got her money's worth." Robert agreed. Another Officer walked by them, her blonde hair in a bun and she looked at the group.
"We need anyone who did not directly witness the shooting to leave as soon as they can." She said, and Sara turned and held her keys in shaking hands. She nodded, and looked at their friends.
"See you all back at home." Sara said, and the Officer looked at Sara and saw how badly they were all shaken up. She gave them a nod, and Sara slipped her arms into Loki's coat and they walked to the car and got in it. He let her settle herself, and her shaking stop before laying a hand on her leg. She rubbed her face, realizing she was still wearing his coat and tried to take it off.
"Keep it on, you may feel cold after the shock wears off." He said, and she smiled and turned the car on and pressed a button on the console between them. He saw an indicator light up, and he studied it a moment as she gave him back his coat.
"Heated seats, they help alot." She said, and he leaned over and held her again. He slowly let her go, and she gave him a weak smile. "We better go, the cops are going to arrest us for hanging out."
"Of course." He replied, and he leaned over and kissed her. His relief filling the action, his hand on her hair again. He was reluctant to part from her, but he did and he sat back into his seat. "I was terrified that I had lost you.."
"But you found me." She said back, and he nodded. He sat back, sleep a long way away for him, and he kept his hand on her thigh as she drove.
--
Sara rubbed her face as she read the news report on the shooting on her tablet, she had never been witness to anything like that and it made her shiver a bit. She wrapped the blanket over her shoulders, sighing and leaned her head against the back of her office chair. She heard someone approaching, and she looked at the door to see Loki standing in it.
"Seeing if you are okay." He said softly, his hands in his jeans pockets as he looked at her. She nodded, and turned off the computer, looking at him.
"Yeah, just reading a news article about the shooting. No one was killed, but the two people involved are being treated for injuries, as well as a few innocent bystanders." She said, and let out a breath. "That sucks, all they wanted was a little fun, and now they are in surgery."
"You cannot predict human nature, nor can you see the future. You are not a Witch after all." He said, and she smiled and waved her fingers at him.
"You will come over here and give me a hug." She said, and he laughed as he walked over to her and embraced her as she stood up. He chuckled in his chest, and she smiled at the warmth he gave her.
"I suppose that you may have some magic in you Sara, because you have bewitched me." He said, and she blushed at his words. She felt him kiss the part in her hair, and she almost melted at the contact.
"And you said I was not a witch." She laughed, and he chuckled in amusement at her. She yawned, feeling the cold from the window seep through her pajama top, and she sighed against his chest. "Bunking with me again tonight?"
"I suppose I am, Robert is asleep across my bed, and Amy and Mark are on the fold out couch, and the Lazy Boy, respectively. Emily has taken over the bed in the other room." He said, and she laughed. She patted his back, and she blushed. She wiggled her fingers again, and he laughed as he looked down at her.
"Eye of newt, toad so green, make this dude kiss me again" She said, and he laughed harder at her joke. He leaned over her, kissing her and she felt a but of heat pool on her belly. She blushed, and she smiled up at him, feeling shy.
"Why do you keep lifting my chin?" She asked him and he shook his head as he tipped it up.
"Because, you are worshiped by a God, hold your head high. Also, ypu are beautiful when you show confidence." He replied, and she smiled at him. She kissed him and she found herself leaning against the desk, his arms around her and she remembered that there were others in the house.
"Uh... We better calm down, we don't want to wake everyone up. I don't want to make things akward for the rest too." She said, hiding that she was not ready for any further contact then also. She worried that she couldn't make him feel good, and he gave her another kiss.
"When you are ready, I will indulge you, but not until then." He said, and they walked down the stairs together, Sara looking in the other room to see Emily sprawled across Darla's old bed. She smiled at her friend, and she gestured to her bathroom as they walked into hers.
"You can use my shower again tonight... I almost forgot, I have people coming next week to work on the gate. They are going to install a new one, and make it easier to open and close by remote. They are also going to be installing a new Security System. Make the house a little safer to luve in and all." She said, and Loki smiled at her. He gave her another hug, and she learned quickly how important touch was to him from that. She smiled into his chest, and squeezed him back. "Thanks for defending me tonight when Emily snapped at me. I appreciate it."
"I would do it again, every time. You are worth an entire war to defend you." He said, and she smiled, and let him go to clean himself up. She pulled the covers back, and crawled into the bed to rest while he washed up. His words on her mind as she watched him walk into the bathroom and shut the door.
She could hear the shower turn on, and and smiled at the thought of how clean he was. He smelled really good, and she blushed to herself about how she could always tell when he was in a room by the cologne he took to wearing. Her musings filling her thoughts so much, she did not remember falling asleep.
--
No one heard her as she approached the house, her heeled shoes clicking on the flagstone walkway as she wrapped her shawl around her against the cold. Frigga waved her hands, settling a spell over the house to keep the occupants in a peaceful slumber as a striped cat darted from the shadows on the porch and regarded her with golden eyes before moving on. She smiled as the feline trotted toward a small flapping door in a basement window, and into the house to seek shelter.
She looked around her, knowing that Odin had forbidden her meddling, but she had to see how he was. She had to see Loki, lay her eyes on him, and just see the Mortals around him. She had to know if he was well, and getting on. She would petition later for a proper audience, but this peek would do for now. She had to see her Son, and if he was happy.
She climbed the steps, looking at the decorations for the Festival of Death and she became nervous as she used magic to turn the knob. It unlocked, and opened easily in her hand, and she entered the house properly.
Her senses were taken by how wonderfully it smelled, the scent of cooking spices, underlay with the freshness of a clean home made her smile. She walked through to a room, holding a small light in the palm of her hand and she saw two person's sleeping in one room. The woman curled on a bed of sorts as the blonde man sprawled across a comfortable looking chair, his mouth open in a snore and she fought back a chuckle at the scene. She walked toward the mantle over the stone and brick fireplace, seeing portraits arranged in frames on it. Her eyes scanning each one, and she smiled at one of their group in a restaurant. Her eyes falling on Loki, and he was sitting next to a red haired woman and was smiling as he held up a bottle of some drink toward the camera.
Her mood soared, seeing all the pictures, and her heart beat a bit happier as she saw another picture of him. He was sitting on a bench, while a raven haired girl sat behind him. She was smiling, and he was relaxed in his posture. A man with drawings on his arm and brown hair was next to him, and they all looked at something else outside of the frame.
She made her way through the house, and to the stairs. She walked up them softly, admiring the cherub with a light inside a crystal globe above it's head as she ascended. She did not mean to linger this long, but she wanted to lay eyes on her Son. The second she feared she had lost, and the same one that appeared again after two years of grief and mourning.
She paused to look at more of the portraits, and she saw a picture of him in the pond near the house. He was smiling, his hair wet and the water up to his waist, and behind him another woman with strawberry blonde hair was laughing. The one hung near it was of the three men, all of them on the porch steps, and laughing among themselves. The one next to it of the Raven Haired girl and him, her leg bandaged as he held a pallette in his hands as they talked. They were indulging his creativity, his mastery of art, and she clasped her hands over her chest. She saw how the beings around him looked happy, and she noticed the genuine smile on his face as they all sat together.
She continued, and found the first room. The brown haired man with the pictures on his arms sprawled across the bed in his jeans and a shirt. She sensed that this was Loki's room, but he was not in it. She worried a moment, fretting over where he was and she saw a leather billfold on the desk next to some keys. A wool coat was thrown over the back of the chair, and she saw the woven hamper full of dirty clothes for washing in the corner. This was his room, he was just allowing the man to sleep here.
She looked at the cork bulletin board above the desk, and saw a pin through a photograph of the raven haired girl to hold it on the board. She was smiling, holding some flowers and looking at the person taking the picture, the shy smile making her a true beauty. Frigga looked at the one next to it of him and the same girl, both of them happy as they talked to an older person. Their faces were painted, his in a skull, and hers to mimic being a poorly sewn doll. They were both smiling and he had his arm around her waist in affection, and Loki looked completely at ease as he conversed. A ticket was pinned in another spot, and she read the words on it.
"STG PRESENTS: Tori Amos with special guest Howie Day. Key Arena, November 15, 2013. Doors open at 7:30 p.m."
He kept that item, something about it inspiring him to do so, and she looked at the set of keys hanging from another pin on the board from a metal ring. She picked up a soft ribbon from the board, and it was looped to hold a plastic covered case with drawings of a park of sort. On it it said "Fright Fest VIP Pass." And she turned it over to see a ghouls standing over a park. She put it back, being careful to make sure that he would not know that she had moved it and she walked down the hall again.
She saw the red haired girl sprawled across the bed in the next room, and a shadow darted behind her with a creak of a floorboard. For a moment, she thought someone had woken up, but when she turned, a skirt moved on and vanished. The house harbored spirits as well, not just her Son and these kind people. The house was loved by the spirit that had moved past, and she could faintly smell lavender and rose perfume from the presence that had moved by her.
She paused, assessing the house and closed her eyes. She could sense the Spirits around her, all of them, and her breath relaxed. Some were very old, and one was newer, a man. He appeared as a shadow because of his actions when he was alive toward his daughter, he ignored terrible things, and he regretted them all. She let out a cleansing breath, sensing his guilt, and how he refused to leave the girl, and wanted to make ammends.
"Loki will keep her safe, I can see how she has brought him joy that he does not want to loose. You can rest now, she is safe." She whispered, and she felt that presence leave. He dissipated, his soul moving on and she cleansed herself with another quiet breath. She smiled, and walked to the last room on the floor, looking in and the sight she beheld warmed her heart.
He was face down on the bed, his legs tangled in the sheets and blankets, his hair thrown over the clean, white pillowcase. Next to him was the raven haired beauty with the pale eyes, on her back and his arm over her waist as she slept with a leg over his hip in her pale blue short pants and matching shirt. Her bare toes wiggled, and he shifted to move closer to her. Her knee was bandaged, and she could tell the injury was fresh, but someone had cleaned it.
She smiled, blinking back tears, and she saw the three devices laying next to eachother on the bedside table. She looked at them, picking up the curious items and she looked at the screen of one. It was a photo of the Girl, her eyes smiling and her hair full of cherry blossom petals as she blushed prettily for the person taking the photo. The second showed her a black screen and asked for a pass code to identify the user, and the third had a photo of the entire friend group. They leaned against a railing of sorts, a mountain in the background, and they were all smiling toward the person photographing them. Loki stood in the back, behind the girl, and the brown haired man had his arm around his shoulders. They all looked happy, and she smiled as she felt her anxiety lift.
He had what he always wanted back in Asgard... companions. He was accepted, and he had someone who loved him.
She lay the device down, using magic to shift them all back into their original positions, and she looked over as the girl shifted with a hum and turned onto her side and lay closer to Loki. He stirred a bit, and allowed her to settle again, and she remembered how her magic never worked fully on him. The gold cliff glinted as she hid herself deeper under the illusion, and watched them.
"It's okay, Sara. I am here, go back to sleep." He said to her, and let her snuggle into him. He covered them both, and he lay his head down next to hers, his hand around her back. He closed his eyes, and his body rested again as he began to fall back asleep. She watched them, and his hand relaxed against her back and rested against her as he began to relax. Frigga smiled, keeping her breathing silent, and he sat up suddenly. He was on alert, and the girl shifted beside him and he looked around the room.
He sensed something, an invader in the space, and his eyes narrowed. Frigga took in a silent breath, holding hers and she softly drifted from the room under the cover of her illusion. She could hear him get up, and he emerged from the room with a weapon of sorts in his hands. He looked around, and she drifted down the stairs as he checked the house, and he relaxed his body. He found no one around him, and he put his hand on the doorknob where she came in.
She left it unlocked, and she silently cursed her carelessness. His senses were sharp, he was trained for any threat after all, and she felt a bit of pride rush through her at seeing this.
He opened it, and he looked out into the night, his eyes scanning the yard as he stood in the gray, cotton trousers and she breezed past him and out of the house.
She turned, seeing him close the door, and she hurried toward the forest around the property. She ducked between the trees, and hurried along until she could call to Heimdall to take her back to Asgard. No evidence left in her wake, but one beings disturbed sleep as she vanished in a flash of light.
