NOTE: New story of an idea that recently popped into my head! I wanted to give something like this a try.
1. Don't worry too much about the timeline on every chapter, because as you can see in this first chapter I'll tell you.
2. I don't plan to go too much in the plot of G, because the main character of this fic is too young to really get involved. So, the events of G will be background in this story.
Other than that enjoy the story and Review!
Chapter 1: Moon Gears
Around the beginning of G Season 1
Chrono Shindou walked through the entrance of Card Capital 2. His emerald orbs scanned over the familiar Card Shop, expecting to find it busy. However, he was greeted by an empty shop, something he wasn't exactly used to yet.
"Are they closed today? Kamui didn't say anything about that," Chrono spoke out loud.
"If we were closed, then you wouldn't have gotten in."
"Huh?" Chrono flinched from the mysterious soft voice that had answered him. "Who's there?" Chrono asked. He walked further into the store to find whoever had answered him. He turned to the store counter and saw the Sub-Manager lying in his usual spots, his little kittens surrounding him.
"Did the cat talk?" He scratched his head in confusion.
"You must be going crazy if you believed the cat had talked."
Chrono got miffed at being insulted. "Hey! Who are you calling crazy!? Show yourself!" He searched around the shop, still trying to find the perpetrator.
"Meow!"
Chrono turned his attention back to the Sub-Manager, the cat pointing down to behind the counter. Taking the hint to look, Chrono made his way behind the counter to see what was back there. What he found wasn't what he was expecting to see today.
Underneath the counter was a small girl with long lilac hair and dark green eyes. Her short bangs were sharp and leaned to the left. She wore a frilly purple dress, and white slippers. In her lap was a book that seemed to be too big for her hands. Those green eyes of hers were glaring directly at him, as if he wasn't supposed to figure out that she was there.
"Tch," She clicked her tongue. She placed a bookmark into the book and closed it, she got to her feet and glared at the cat. "Traitor," She pouted.
"Meow," Sub-Manager snickered and laid back down to sleep. Huffing at the cat's traitorous deed, the little girl picked up her book. She got to her tippy toes to try and place her book on the counter.
Chrono stood there awkwardly as he watched her struggle with her short height. "Uh, would you like some help with that?" He asked.
"If you wouldn't mind," The girl requested. Chrono complied, taking the book from her hands and putting it on top of the counter. The small girl huffed and muttered something about being vertically challenged.
She proceeded to exit the back of the counter to enter the shop area. The Gear Chronicle user hurried after her. "So, who are you?" He asked.
She paused in her steps and turned around to face him. Her dead-fish eyes bore into his bright green ones. "It's rude to ask for someone's name before giving your own," She scolded him. Chrono flinched from being scolded by a small child.
"R-Right, sorry about that. My name is Chrono Shin-"
"Don't worry, I already know that."
"W-What!? Then why did you ask!?" He stammered.
"Because I wanted to," She shrugged.
"T-This little girl!" Chrono twitched in irritation.
"Anyway, you're the owner of Gear Chronicle," She pointed at him.
"Yeah, but you didn't even tell me your name," Chrono said, confused.
"You don't need to worry about that, swirly," She responded, uncaringly.
"S-Swirly!?" Chrono cried out, offended. Chrono was almost at his wits end, this little girl has been nothing, but disrespectful since he entered the store.
The little girl titled her head in thought, before shrugging her shoulders at her own decision. "How about this, if you beat me in a Cardfight, then I'll tell you my name," She offered.
Chrono's irritation simmered at her offer. "Heh, sure, but I ain't gonna go easy on you just because you're a kid," He smirked.
Instead of being insulted for being called a kid, the girl gave an equally cocky smirk to match his. "That's good, my Father always told me to give every fight 100%. It would be rude if my opponent didn't do the same," She replied.
"Your dad sounds like a serious guy," Chrono replied as they walked over to the fight table.
"Eh, Mother likes to describe him as a 'Cardfight Edgelord'," She responded as she shuffled her deck.
"Your parents sound like eccentric people," Chrono hoped that didn't offend her. She didn't respond to him with any snarky remarks at all, she didn't really say anything in response. Chrono watched as her face turned into a blank stare, and then she broke into a small fit of giggles.
"Is everything ok?" Chrono asked.
She stopped giggling and reequipped her dead eyed stare, as if she just remembered that he was standing there. "We should start," She said and placed her forerunner.
"U-Uh..yeah…" Chrono placed his as well. "This is the weirdest little girl I've ever met," He concluded.
"Stand up! Vanguard!"
"Triple Drive Check! Critical Trigger/Critical Trigger/Critical Trigger!"
"GYAAAHHHH!" Chrono cried out as he was dealt his 6th and final damage.
"I win. Guess, you won't learn my name," She shrugged, uncaringly.
Chrono stood there in shock, reeling back from his own defeat. "How did I just lose to this little girl so easily!? She had complete control the entire time!" Chrono lamented in his head. During the fight it was as if the girl could read his every move, countering and blocking every time he could've gained the lead. Then, she was pulling triggers at the best moment, as if she knew when she'd pull them. "Is she some kind of Vanguard prodigy!?"
DING DING
"Oh, you're finally here," The little girl's voice dragged Chrono out of his head. He looked over and saw Shin who was breathing heavily as if he was running a marathon.
"Tsu-Tsu-Tsukki...don't just disappear like that! Your Mother would kill me!" Shin cried. He ran up and enveloped Tsukki into a hug, to which she immediately protested.
"Don't hug me so suddenly! Not when you're so sweaty, Uncle Shin!" Tsukki shouted, trying to push him away from her. Shin relented his hugging, allowing Tsukki to touch the ground.
Chrono watched the scene silently, his confusion for the day reaching an all time high. "Can someone tell me what's going on!? Shin, who is she!?" Chrono pointed at Tsukki.
"Oh, Chrono, I didn't realize you were here. I forgot you haven't been introduced to Tsukki yet," Shin laughed.
"Tsukki?" Chrono repeated her name.
"Yup, this is Tsukuyo Kai! Misaki's daughter!" Shin introduced her.
"Yo," Tsukki kept the same bored tone after her uncle's introduction.
Chrono stood still as a statue for a few moments, blinking repeatedly as his brain attempted to process the new information that had been given to him.
"WHAT!?"
"Great, another loud one…" Tsukki shook her head.
Chapter End
NOTE: If you're confused on when Tsukki was born...don't think too much of it. As in you'll eventually get the backstory on when she came into existence, but until then enjoy short stories of her hanging around her aunts, uncles, and big siblings.
Had to update, because "Kai" is Kai's last name. I had completely forgotten that lol. So, yes Misaki took Kai's last family name.
Have a great day and look forward to more!
