AN: Hello everyone! This is a story I've honestly thought I wouldn't do or get off the ground. But Squeegeman on FanFiction has been a great help in writing and fleshing this story out.

And for fans of Hero Academia DxD, don't worry. I'm not abandoning that. This will be something of a side project for the time being. Now then, how about we enjoy the first chapter?

Chapter 1: It Begins…

"In the beginning, there was the soulless creator, the Demiurge. It and shapeless chaotic souls were all that existed in the entire universe. In an attempt to create order from the perceived chaos of the cosmos, the Demiurge chained the soul and heart in mortal forms, punishing those who did not follow its laws. The Demiurge then arrogantly declared that it has made the world by itself, ignorant of what created it, of the soul, or that the world it created was merely a shadow of the real world…"

Kuoh Academy, Japan

The hallways of Kuoh Academy were filled with students as they got ready for the day. Two of them, second-years Issei Hyoudou and Asia Argento, were simply walking around the school. What most at the school didn't know was they were both devils. Reincarnated devils, to be precise. Issei had only become a devil recently, with Asia's reincarnation having only taken place days ago.

Currently, Issei was showing Asia around the school, the former nun had just transferred the day before, and asked him to show her around. Naturally, due to being part of the infamous Perverted Trio, many of the girls were suspicious of him and believed he had ulterior motives while many of the boys glared hatefully at him. "This school is really pretty," Asia noted, oblivious to all the hateful stares Issei was given.

"Yeah, I guess it is," Issei replied. They were currently in the interior of the main school building, which looked like some type of ballroom, with a chandelier and everything.

"Hyoudou?" Issei and Asia stopped when they noticed a male student walking up to them. He wore the standard Kuoh Academy uniform, though he had slight changes. One was that his blazer was unbuttoned, exposing the white shirt beneath. Instead of brown dress shoes, he wore red and black sneakers. He was also wearing a pair of black-rimmed goggles over his forehead, the left lens cracked, and a black, squared-shaped watch on his left wrist. He had lightly tanned skin, orange hair, and red eyes.

"Oh, hey Hinode," Issei greeted.

"Uh, Issei, who is this?" Asia asked.

"Oh, he's Koh Hinode. He's from a neighboring class, Class 2-C, and he helped me out last school year."

"Yeah, though I doubt it helped the girls' opinion of you," Koh said.

"Yeah…" Issei sighed.

"What happened?" Asia asked.

"Some of the kendo girl's underwear vanished, and they assumed it was me because I was nearby," Issei said, keeping the part that he was near the kendo club to peep at the girls to himself.

"I knew right away that he was innocent," Koh added. "Hyoudou may be a mega pervert, but he's not that kind of pervert."

"You still haven't told me how you found the underwear so fast. Or where you found it. Or who took it, either," Issei added.

"I'd rather not say," Koh replied before he looked to Asia. "I haven't seen you before. Are you a new student?"

"Yes," Asia nodded. "I'm Asia Argento, and I just transferred yesterday."

"Another foreign student, huh? Pleased to meet you," Koh bowed slightly in greeting. "How are you enjoying Japan?"

"It's been… interesting," Asia replied. "It is a bit scary to live in a new place. But luckily, I'm staying with Issei and I couldn't be happier."

"You're living with Hyoudou?" Koh asked. When Asia nodded, the orange-haired teen stared at Issei, a deadpan expression clearly on his face. "Finally got started on your harem, huh?"

"NO! It's not like that!" Issei exclaimed, waving his hands while Asia blushed slightly.

"Relax, I'm not the type to judge, remember," Koh waved off. "You do you."

"It still sounds like you're judging me," Issei deadpanned. "By the way, doesn't the kendo club have practice later today?"

"I quit," Koh replied. "The lessons were pretty basic, my uncle is a far better teacher. That, and the girls were getting really annoying."

"They must be devastated," Issei deadpanned, imagining the despaired looks on the faces of the kendo girls, Murayama and Katase in particular.

"Koh-kun!"

Koh, along with Issei and Asia, turned to see a girl the same age as them walking over to them. She had long silver hair, red eyes, and a skin tone as pale as the white moon and was wearing the Kuoh Academy uniform customized to a gothic Lolita style. She was also wearing a pendant with a blood-red gem held in the claws of a silver bat.

"Anne, what are you doing here?" Koh asked the girl.

The silver-haired girl presented Koh with a bento box. "Your uncle told me you forgot your lunch."

"Oh," Koh blinked. "Thanks, Anne."

"Wait…" Anne glanced over at Issei and Asia. "…Are you making new friends without me?!"

"Anne…"

"Hello! I'm Anne Bellerose!" She greeted.

"Uh, hi. I'm Issei Hyoudou."

"I'm Asia Argento."

As the three talked, dragging Koh into it, much to his consternation, up above them on the balcony were two of the Great Ladies of Kuoh Academy, Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri. Whereas Rias was smiling, Sona's face was etched into a contemplative frown.

"Honestly, showing my new Bishop around the school? My adorable Pawn is such a gentleman." Rias turned towards Sona. "Wouldn't you agree?"

"Hmmm?" Sona blinked as she was snapped out of her stupor. "Oh yes."

Now it was Rias' turn to frown. "Sona, what's wrong?"

"You can tell?"

"I've known you since we were kids, I can always pick up when something's bothering you. Now, what's up?"

"…You know about the strange incidents that have been happening for the last few years?"

"Yes. What about them?"

"Well, I've been… hearing unpleasant rumors recently," Sona began. "With all the incidents that have been springing up recently that we haven't been able to deal with directly, we might be recalled to the Underworld to explain ourselves."

"What!?" Rias snapped, her voice a mix of shock and anger.

"It's just rumors and whispers…for the moment at least," Sona grimaced as well, her dainty and petite hands curled into angry fists. "But if we don't find the source of these incidents soon, then even our siblings won't be able to stop people from questioning our ability to oversee our territory. Your parents could very well try and use this to pressure you into marrying Riser earlier than planned, possibly forgoing a Rating Game, while mine could force me into lowering my stipulations for anyone seeking my hand."

"I refuse to let either happen!" Rias snapped. "I promise, we'll keep our freedom."

"That is easier said than done, Rias," Sona replied. "In the meantime, I suggest we have our peerages meet later. We'll need to work together to investigate these incidents thoroughly to get to the bottom of them."

"Yes, I agree." Rias nodded. "We'll meet up at my clubroom after school."

Elsewhere, a stray devil lay in wait in one of Kuoh's abandoned buildings. She was being hunted down as a result of her abandonment by the Underworld government after she abandoned her master. She was her former master's Queen, but she wanted more than to be some devil's prized piece.

As a Queen, she was able to retain some control over her appearance than most stray devils, though she still had part of a monstrous appearance. Right now, though, she only cared about resting to regain strength. She needed to be ready for any potential pursuers. This town was governed by Satan Lucifer's younger sister, so she had to be especially cautious.

As she rested, she failed to notice how sparks of electricity began to dance around the warehouse she was in. Clouds gathered above as a surge of unknown power swelled within the area, which finally got the stray's attention.

"Wha…" she groggily rubbed her eyes as she looked around.

Her eyes widened as the space before her cracked opened, revealing a blue portal. A large mass emerged from the portal, appearing to be made of cubes covered in 1s and 0s. The portal closed as suddenly as it opened as the mass took shape, the cubes solidifying and smoothing out, taking on the appearance of something massive.

With a hungry growl, the creature leaned over the stray, who could only scream in terror.

Currently, it was time for class, and Koh was busy not paying attention. His mind was specifically drawing something in his notebook. Specifically, he was drawing an armored figure themed around a lion, a sword in its hands in a stance he felt conveyed heroism. This was a drawing of his favorite character: King of the Sun Beasts Solaleo.

Koh began studying the drawing, to see if there were any flaws in how he was drawing it. Solaleo was a hero of justice, able to defend the weak and never give up. He needed to convey that properly.

'Honestly, I envy you, Solaleo. You're able to protect those you care about and me…well…'

"Uh, e-excuse me, Hinode-kun?"

Koh turned toward the voice and saw himself looking at one of his classmates, Himari Kido. She had long pale blue hair held together by a hair braid, brown eyes, and an adorable face, but her eyes had dark circles under them.

"Hm. Is something wrong, Kido-san?" Koh asked.

"Uh, well, I was wondering…" She seemed to struggle to say something. "N-Never mind. I-I-I'm sorry to bother you." She sheepishly turned away and sat down in the seat next to Koh's.

'What's wrong with Kido?' Koh put down the pencil and closed his notebook. "Hey, is something the matter with you?"

"Huh?" Kido looked at Koh.

"If there's something bothering you, just let me know and I'll help. There's nothing wrong with asking for help."

"Hinode-kun…" Kido then began to blush and look away. "It's nothing."

"Really?" Koh raised a brow.

"Yes, nothing." She turned towards Koh and smiled. "But thanks anyway Hinode-kun, it's great to have a friend like you."

"You're welcome." Koh smiled as he returned to his drawing, not noticing the ever-increasing blush on Kido's face as she looked at him.

Once classes ended for the day, Issei and Asia went to the Occult Research Club room. However, much to their surprise, they also found that the Student Council was also present.

"St-Student Council President?" Issei muttered.

"Oh, you didn't mention us to Hyoudou, Rias-san?" A male student the same age as Issei, with short blond hair and gray eyes, asked. "We're devils as well, you know."

"Saji, it can't be helped," the Student Council President scolded the male student. "We're not allowed to contact each other to keep a low profile. Hyoudou's reaction is understandable."

"Wait…What?!" Issei said as his jaw dropped, Asia's face taking on a look of surprise as well.

Akeno then leaned over to Issei. "Sona's real name is Sona Sitri. She's the current heir to the house of Sitri. They control the school and town at night, while we work the day shift."

"It's because of us that you guys can enjoy school life, so you better be grateful!" The male student smirked. "By the way, my name's Genshirou Saji, Kaichou's Pawn."

At this, Issei's eyes widened. "Hey, I'm a Pawn too!"

Saji began to sneer at Issei, "Don't lump me in with you. Just so you know, Kaichou had to use 4 Pawn pieces to make me her servant. I might've just become a Devil, but I won't lose against someone like you."

"Saji, stop it!" Sona glared at her Pawn.

"B-but Kaichou!"

"That's enough! I won't have you sully the name of House Sitri! Besides, Hyoudou has absorbed 8 pawns. He outranks you."

Saji's jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he beheld Issei. "8 pieces?! Seriously?!"

"Saji…" Sona glared at her pawn.

"Oh right." Saji then bowed before Issei and Asia. "My name's Genshirou Saji, and I'm Kaichou's pawn. Please take care of me."

"I'm sure we'll get along just fine!" Asia smiled.

Saji got a good look at Asia, grinned, and grabbed her hand. "I'm sure we will! Especially you and me!"

However, Issei glared at the action, grabbed Saji's hand, took it out of Asia's, and started shaking it aggressively. "Please look after me as well! Also, if you touch Asia again, I'll fucking kill you, got it?!" He said as he forced a smile on his face.

"Oh, to have this blonde beauty to yourself, despite being such a brute! I hope nothing terrible happens to you, like being struck by lightning on a sunny day!" Saji said, returning the handshake and forcing a smile as well.

"Saji stop!" Sona yelled.

"Issei, knock it off!" Rias shouted as well.

"Yes, Ma'am." Both pawns sighed as they ceased the handshake.

"OK, now to the matter at hand." Sona then began to address the peerages. "There's been a mysterious case of incidents happening throughout the city, and I feel we need Rias' help to solve it."

"What kind of incidents?" Issei asked.

"There's been a string of disappearances throughout the city, and we're going to investigate the matter," Rias said.

"Another Stray Devil?" Kiba inquired.

"I wish." Rias sighed. "We haven't received a notice of any potential strays in the area, and whatever this thing is, it's completely random."

"What do you mean?" Saji tilted his head.

"Usually there's a pattern to stray devil attacks. They're essentially serial killers, so it is easy to track them down and eliminate them." Sona then pushed the rim of her glasses to her nose. "This…this is more like a wild beast. Its patterns are completely random, and it doesn't stick to one area. But strangely, some of the humans who vanished return unharmed. Even stranger, their description of their abductor varies in method and appearance, meaning there is more than one culprit, or whatever is behind this can shapeshift."

"Meaning we'll have our work cut out for us if we want to track it." Rias then stood up. "Everyone, we're going to spread out and search the town! If you find anything suspicious, report it to me! Do not engage!"

"Yes, Buchou!" Replied the Gremory Peerage.

Nearby, Koh was readying to return home when Anne approached. "Koh-kun, can you help me with my math homework tonight?" She asked.

"I don't have to help my uncle today, so sure," Koh replied, readying his bike.

"Hi-Hinode-kun?"

Koh turned and saw that Himari Kido was approaching them. "Kido? Is something wrong?"

"No, no. But… we-ell, do… Do you remem-member what ha-happened last year?" Kido asked. "During t-that ra-rainy day back in J-June?"

It took a moment for Koh to recall. "Yeah. You forgot your umbrella and it was raining pretty bad, so I lent you mine."

Kido smiled. "You do remember," she shook her head. "Uh, well, when you gave me y-your umbrella, I recall how your… voice seemed so sad. And, I was wondering why…"

"Uh…" Koh hesitated to answer while Anne flinched. "That's because, well… It's kinda personal."

"Oh, I see," Himari said. "I didn't mean to…"

"No, it's fine," Koh swiftly said. "It's just- Do you hear something?"

"Eh?" Kido blinked. But, faintly, she did hear something. "Y-Yes, I do hear something."

"What is that?" Anne asked.

The Student Council and ORC exited the new school building at that point.

"So how are we gonna split up?" Issei asked as the two groups of devils made their way to the front entrance of the new school building.

"Want to team up, Gen-chan?" Momo Hanakai, Sona's Bishop, asked.

"Huh? Oh, sure," Saji nodded. He failed to notice the way Ruruko Nimura, Sona's Pawn, pouted at him and Momo.

"Splitting into groups of two would be efficient," Sona nodded. "There are 14 of us, so we'll split into 7 teams."

"Right," Rias nodded. "Akeno and I will be one team. Issei, you and Asia will be another. And that leaves Kiba and Koneko."

"Right," they all nodded, except for one. Koneko had stopped walking and fell behind them.

"Hmm, is something wrong Koneko?" Rias asked her Rook.

Koneko's gaze was up to the sky as if she was looking for something. "…You hear that?" She spoke up. Sure enough, the sound of a rapidly beating set of wings filled the air. And it was getting louder.

"What is that?" Tsubaki asked.

"Oh, my God!" Exclaimed someone nearby, catching the attention of the ORC, the Student Council, Koh, Anne, and Himari.

"What's going on?" Asia asked.

"What is that!?"

"A giant bug?!"

"Giant bug…?" Issei questioned before looking up. His eyes widened at what he saw. "What the hell!?"

Everyone else looked up also and were equally shocked. Flying straight towards them was a monster resembling a red stag beetle. A big monster.

"What is that?!" Rias yelled.

"It's not a Stray Devil. I don't sense any demonic power coming off of it." Sona stated.

'What is that thing doing?!' Koh then looked at the watch on his wrist, tapping a button on its side. This caused the device to give off a chirp, and the screen displayed a rotating holographic image of the creature, along with various other statistics.

Name: Kuwagamon

Level: Champion

Attribute: Virus

Attacks: Scissor Hands, Power Guillotine, Trapping Scissors, Shadow Slash, Crunch Arm

"Look out!" Someone yelled right as the monster flew over the front entrance of the new school building. It flew close enough that its wings caused the windows to shatter, even damaging part of the building, with debris and glass raining down on the unfortunate students.

Koh quickly acted, tackling Kido away as pieces of the school building landed where she stood. He glared at the Kuwagamon as it flew away before turning his attention to the girl wrapped in his arms. "You okay?"

"Ye… Yes." Kido responded, but she was blushing so much that her whole face was red. "Uh-uhm, H-Hi-Hinode-k-kun?" She stuttered.

Koh wondered why she was acting like this, but then he realized why… his hand had grabbed one of her breasts. "Ah!" Koh exclaimed and let go of her, looking away with his face red with embarrassment. "I-uh-I'm sorry!"

"It… it's okay," Kido muttered.

"Koh-kun!" Anne called out, pointing toward the Kuwagamon as it flew away… toward the city.

"Crap!" Koh hissed as he helped Kido up. "Kido, head somewhere safe."

"Okay, b-but what about you?"

"I'll be fine. Don't worry," Koh reassured before he got on his bike and rode off, Anne following close behind.

"Is everyone okay?" Rias asked.

"Somehow, yeah" Issei groaned, the other devils saying similar.

"What was that thing?" Reya Kusaka, Sona's other Bishop, asked.

"Whatever it is, it's an intruder in our territory and dared damage our school!" Rias growled. "We have to stop it before it draws too much attention!"

"Then what are we waiting for?" Issei asked.

"Good question," Kiba narrowed his eyes.

"Kusaka, Hanakai, get started on repairs, and alter the memories of everyone here," Sona commanded. "The rest of us will assist Rias in taking… whatever that thing is down."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The ORC and the Student Council followed Kuwagamon through the city. Luckily, it stayed high up in the air, avoiding going down to the streets as they pursued it. Night had begun to fall as Kusaka and Hanakai joined back up with them. Eventually, they caught up to it at the old church, the digital beast already destroying the building.

"Hey, ugly!" Saji shouted, getting the attention of the bug Digimon. "You know it's rude to destroy a place of worship, right?!"

Kuwagamon didn't even say anything, it just roared as it barreled straight for them. However, Rias threw a blast of the Power of Destruction, knocking the beast off balance.

"Everyone, get ready!" Rias yelled to the rest of the ORC and Student Council. "It'll get up again and this time, it's gonna be more pissed off than usual!"

At this, Kiba readied his swords, Akeno her lightning, Koneko got into a fighting stance, while Issei summoned Boosted Gear.

But surprisingly, Kuwagamon vanished from sight. "What the…!?" Issei gapped.

"It disappeared?!" Asia gasped.

Down the trail, Koh and Anne hopped off their bikes and ran up to the old church, seeing the ORC and Student Council already there. "What are they doing here?" Koh wondered before his eyes widened.

"Huh? Hinode!" Issei gaped upon noticing them.

"And Anne-san, too!" Asia said.

"What are they doing here?" Sona wondered.

"Himejima! Above you!" Koh yelled. A split second later, something crashed into the ground behind Akeno, the resulting impact knocking her and the others down.

"Gha! What was…" Rias' question halted when she saw something taking shape within the dust cloud. Becoming visible again, Kuwagamon let out a roar, readying an attack. "Akeno!"

Rias' Queen only had time to look up as Kuwagamon's glowing pincers closed in on her. Acting quickly, Koh ran ahead, grabbed Akeno, and rolled away from Kuwagamon's attack with her, which easily cut down several nearby trees.

Getting up, Koh glared at the Kuwagamon before he turned his attention to Akeno. "You okay?"

"Yeah," Akeno nodded.

"Good. Then you and everyone need to leave!" Koh yelled out to the ORC and Student Council. "There's no way you can take on a Digimon!"

"Hinode, you know what thing is?!" Issei shouted

"I do, and it appears to be very pissed off! I can deal with this guy, so you need to go!"

"Like hell we are!" Saji yelled back. "Kuoh's our territory and whatever this thing is, it's intruding, so we're gonna teach it a lesson!"

"You better listen to Boss!" Everyone besides Koh and Anne blinked as they beheld something running to Koh. It looked like a lion cub, with a literal flaming head of hair and red fur all across its body. "He and I know how to deal with troublemakers like this guy."

"Coronamon, you're late." Koh slightly scolded the lion Digimon.

"I'm sorry Boss, it took me a while to finish my lunch."

"I swear, you're gonna be the death of me." Koh sighed.

"What is that?" Saji asked, gobsmacked.

"…Kitten," Koneko muttered.

Koh and Coronamon ignored them as they faced Kuwagamon, the beast roared once again and prepared to charge.

"Coronamon?"

"Ready, Boss."

However, before they could actually do anything, a bolt of lightning shocked Kuwagamon, forcing it to its knees. Koh blinked and turned around, and his jaw dropped as he saw Himejima actually summon lightning from her hand to hurt the giant Digimon. However, her usual school uniform was gone, replaced by a traditional miko attire, consisting of a white haori with red accents, a red hakama, and a pair of zōri with white tabi. Koh had to admit, she was very beautiful wearing it.

"Ara ara." Akeno smiled at Kuwagamon sweetly with her eyes closed. "Looks like he can really take a punch." She opened them halfway and licked her lips. "Let's see how long he can go. Fufufufufu."

"How did she do that?" Koh asked dumbly. "And what happened to her clothes?"

"I don't know, but Boss… I'm scared," Coronamon muttered, with Koh nodding.

Looking around them, they noticed several others getting into combat stances. Some of them, like Kiba, summoned a weapon of some kind from thin air. Tsubaki Shinra, Sona's Queen, wielded a naginata, while Tomoe Meguri, Sona's Knight, had a katana.

'OK, I am definitely asking them what the hell is happening after all this.'

"Sword Birth!" With a yell, Kiba materialized several demonic swords around the insect Digimon, intent on impaling it. But the swords shattered instantly against the Kuwagamon's armor, which only growled in anger as it turned toward Kiba. The Kuwagamon began to beat its wings rapidly, a blast of air forming in front of it. Kiba was ready to dodge when Tsubaki came down from above and landed in front of him. "Stay behind me," she instructed.

Right before Kuwagamon fired the air blast, Tsubaki quickly summoned a large full-body mirror in front of her and Kiba. "Mirror Alice!" She exclaimed as the air blast hit the glass of the mirror with a giant amount of force, that the Student Council Vice President gritted her teeth, with her hands on the back of it, as she struggled against the blast.

Kiba could only stare in amazement, as orange lights flashed from the corners of the mirror. "Is that your Sacred Gear?" He couldn't help but ask.

"Yes," Tsubaki answered as the blast subsided. "It has the power to take on an enemy's attack and reflect it back at them with twice the power!" Tsubaki's serious expression formed a smirk as a much larger air blast erupted from the mirror and flew toward the Kuwagamon.

The Digimon roared in pain as it was pushed back by the attack, crashing against the old church, and causing it to collapse.

Tsubaki flinched at that. "Oh… I hope we don't get in trouble for that…"

"Did she do it?" Rias questioned. She got her answer when Kuwagamon burst out of the rubble, having several, white glowing cuts, but other than that it was more pissed off than hurt.

"Alright, Tsubaki-senpai managed to hurt it!" Momo exclaimed.

"No," Coronamon shook his head, getting the devil's attention. "At most, all she did was just give him a few paper-cuts."

"You can't be serious!" Rias exclaimed.

"I'm afraid so," Koh nodded as Kuwagamon growled again. Looking around for what it assumed to be the weakest member, its eyes landed on Koneko. Jumping in front of her, Kuwagamon raised his claws, preparing to swipe at the girl.

"Toujou! Look out!" Koh yelled to the petite first-year.

Koneko, however, braced herself, willing to tank the swipe. The claw came down and hit her square in the torso, knocking the air out of her lungs. Koneko's body was sent flying backwards and then slammed into a tree, breaking it in two.

"Toujou!" Koh then ran towards Koneko and looked her over and, to his surprise, she wasn't dead, 'To be able to tank a Digimon like that? What in the hell are you?' Shaking his head, Koh turned towards Rias and the others. "Listen to me: Leave him to me and Coronamon. We know what we're doing."

Rias looked towards Koneko and then to Kuwagamon, as it began trying to attack Issei, who tried to punch it, while constantly dodging its attacks. She then sighed. "Fine. Just make sure that thing pays for hurting Koneko."

At this, Koh smiled. "You can count on that," he then turned towards Coronamon. "Ready, Partner?"

"You got it, Boss!" Coronamon then ran up to Kuwagamon, as flames engulfed the lion-like Digimon's fists. "Corona-knuckle!"

Jumping up to the head of the beetle Digimon, Coronamon hit the Digimon square in the jaw, causing the giant digital beast to turn its attention to Coronamon. Kuwagamon then roared as it began to try another swipe.

"Petit Prominence!" Suddenly, flames began to engulf Coronamon's entire body, as Kuwagamon began trying to hit the lion-like Digimon. However, Coronamon refused to move, staying put in one spot as Kuwagamon was forced back.

"Alright, Coronamon!" Koh cheered. "Why don't we end this with a bang?"

Coronamon then began to grin. "I thought you'd never ask!" The fire on its brow then began to burn even brighter, as Coronamon prepared for one final attack. "Corona Flame!" A flaming shot of white fire shot out of Coronamon's brow, hitting Kuwagamon dead on.

The concentrated stream of fire knocked Kuwagamon down, engulfing the Digimon's head in flames as it cried out in agony.

"Whoa!" Issei gapped, along with the devils. At most, they barely gave the thing some paper cuts, yet Coronamon was able to knock it down after a few hits.

Coronamon fell to his knees, breathing heavily as Koh rushed to his side. "You doing okay?"

"I'll be fine, Boss," Coronamon replied.

Suddenly, Kuwagamon roared as it stood back up, putting the fire out as it did so as it glared hatefully at Koh and Coronamon.

"I don't think Kuwagamon is willing to talk, Boss," Coronamon muttered.

"I was afraid of that," Koh sighed. "All right…" Koh's watch began to give off a light orange glow.

Kuwagamon roared again, readying another attack, when-

*STAB!*

Everyone present gasped in shock, Koh and Coronamon especially, at seeing a long, blue-white blade stab Kuwagamon through its chest. It gave a weak growl as its body began to glitch before going limp, Kuwagamon's body disintegrating in rainbow-colored dust.

Behind where it stood, there was a blue portal. In it, a large figure stood, resembling a knight wearing a hood and cape. It was cast in shadow as it pulled its blade back as the portal closed.

"What was…" Asia muttered, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

"Koh-kun, what was that?" Anne asked.

"No clue," Koh shook his head. "Coronamon?"

Coronamon shook his head. "I've never seen anything like that before."

"Is everyone okay?" Rias asked.

"Yeah, somehow," Issei nodded, the other devils all confirming.

"Hyoudou," Koh spoke up. "I think we both owe each other explanations."

"Yes, we do," Sona glanced at Koh, Anne, and Coronamon. "But I don't believe this is an appropriate time or place."

"Huh? How come, Kaichou?" Tomoe asked.

"The police will be here in a few minutes," Koh answered. "I don't know what you all are, but I doubt you want the police finding out."

"Oh crap," Issei muttered.

"Then where should we meet?" Sona asked.

"My uncle's tea shop, the Jasmine Dragon, should work. Meet us there tomorrow?" Koh suggested.

"Yes, that does sound doable," Rias nodded.

"Bye, everyone!" Anne called out as she and Koh got back on their bikes, Coronamon jumping onto Koh's back before he disappeared from sight.

"…Can someone please explain what happened?" Kiba uttered.

"I'm honestly not sure myself," Tsubasa Yura, Sona's Rook, replied.

"Hopefully we'll get some proper answers tomorrow," Rias sighed. "Let's go home."

At that, the Sona and Rias summoned two teleportation circles, taking their respective peerages back to their respective bases.

Unknown to any of them, in the woods nearby, overlooking the site of the battle, a small purple, spider-like machine clung to the surface of a tree. From this hidden position, it surveyed the area with the perception of a photographer, recording the aftermath of the battle and the curious devil creatures.

Once the necessary data was gathered, the Digimon scurried off, arriving at a hole in reality, similar to the one in which the being who killed Kuwagamon appeared. The Digimon didn't waste time scurrying off into the fissure as it closed, returning to report back to its master.

"I didn't think this is how you'll find out," Anne sighed as she and Koh rode through the streets.

"What are you talking about, Anne?" Koh asked her. "Hold on… Do you know what they were?"

"Yeah," Anne nodded. "It's… complicated."

Coronamon became visible again. "More complicated than dealing with bad Digimon?"

"...Not exactly," the two slowed down at an intersection. "I need to head home. See you tomorrow, Koh. And I promise… I'll tell you the truth." She headed off.

"OK, I'm officially beat," Koh said as he laid down on his bed. "But still, we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow, right Coronamon?"

"Don't need to tell me twice, boss." Coronamon then began to scratch his head in confusion. "Still though, those guys weren't Digimon, but they smelled human. What are they? And what was up with Anne?"

"I don't know," Koh sighed. He had always felt that Anne was different from everyone else. The fact she wasn't surprised at the abilities of Himejima and the others did seem to prove it. "Well, that's why she and Hyoudou are gonna talk to us tomorrow." He then turned off the lamp. "Goodnight Coronamon."

"Night, Boss."

"Hmmm? Where am I?"

Koh looked around and saw himself in the middle of a grassy field, the sun shining high in the sky.

"You're in your mind, master."

Koh turned around to the voice's source and his jaw gaped. Standing in front of him was a gigantic golden lion with a purple gem in the middle of its forehead. It honestly reminded him of Solario, Solaleo's lion partner.

"OK, this is quite possibly one of the weirder dreams I've had, definitely top five in there, second only to the one about the dancing monkeys in tutus." Koh shook his head. "If this is one of those lucid dreams, you should disappear by now."

The lion only began to laugh. "Master, you cannot simply dream me away, I exist inside you."

"...What?"

"Allow me to explain. My name is Regulus, I am the Nemean Lion, and I exist within what you call a Sacred Gear, which is inside you. Normally, I'd still be asleep, but I felt the presence of the Red Dragon Emperor, which roused me from my slumber."

"...OK, scratch that, this is definitely the weirdest dream I've had."

"The boy, the one you call Hyoudou, woke me up. They plan to give you answers, correct? Then ask them about what I am."

Koh then facepalmed. "Fine, Mr. Dream Lion, I'll do that. Now, can I wake up please?"

"Don't worry, I'll let you wake up. Just…be prepared."

"For what?" Koh then felt himself begin to slip away back into the waking world, with only Regulus chuckling.

"You'll see…"

Koh's eyes then began to open as his alarm clock blared. Groggily, he turned it off, "What was that dream?"

"Good morning, master."

Blinking at the unrecognizable voice, Koh looked at his hand and his jaw dropped. In his hands was an ornate battle axe, with a golden lion head in the center of the blade, and on top of it was a purple gem.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" Koh screamed.

"Boss, what's wrong?" Coronamon said as he came out of the closet/makeshift room he used, and his eyes widened as he beheld the axe. "Where'd you get that?!"

"I suppose such a reaction is suitable, considering we just met in your dreams." The voice, coming from the axe, sighed.

"The Axe is talking?!" Koh screamed once again.

"Is it a Digimon too?!" Coronamon said as he got into a combat stance.

"In your dream, you were talking with a gigantic golden lion that called itself Regulus, in the middle of a grassy field, were you not?"

Koh blinked. "How do you know that?"

"Because…I am Regulus."

"…What?"

"Currently, I'm sealed inside this Axe, but rest assured, you are not going insane." The Axe then rotated itself and looked at the Solaleo poster on the wall. "What's this?"

"Oh, Solaleo? Hey's my favorite hero." Koh then shook his head, "What am I even doing?!"

"I'm surprised you're flustered, considering that thing right there."

"I'm NOT a thing! I'm Coronamon!" Coronamon huffed.

"OK, this is too much even for me," Koh said as he walked Regulus to the closet and shoved the axe in there. "You are staying in this closet until I get back from school. Then when I get home, you are gonna tell me what exactly is happening… And I can't believe I'm expecting answers from an axe." Koh turned to Coronamon. "Coronamon, make sure he doesn't leave the closet."

"Aye, Boss!" Coronamon said as he gave a salute.

"I'm afraid that's not possible," Regulus sighed. To prove the point, the axe floated out of the closet and flew back to the surprised Koh's hand. "You see, I'm bound to you by soul, so wherever you go, I go."

"Great, what am I supposed to do then?" Koh yelled in an exasperated tone.

"Hmmm…Maybe this will do." The axe then glowed as he turned into a golden bracelet with the head of a roaring lion on it.

"What did you just do?" Koh blinked as he beheld the bracelet.

"Simple, I'm inactive, so I changed my shape into this. If you ever need my assistance, I will gladly turn back into my combat form and help you with whatever you need, master."

"So I'm going to be walking around school with you on me all day?" Koh sighed. "Great."

"I'm glad you agree, master."

"I was being sarcastic, and don't call me master, the name's Koh Hinode. Feels weird being called master by a magical lion-axe thing."

"Yet you allow… Coronamon to call you 'Boss'. Is that not the same?"

"That's different." Koh said as he shook his head. "He and I are like family. He calls me Boss because he feels like it. We're partners in a way." He looked at the Axe. "If you're going to stick with me, as much as it weirds me out, we're partners. You help me, I help you, that's the way it works. You got that?"

"Very well…Koh."

In spite of Kuwagamon wreaking part of the new building yesterday, there wasn't any visible damage remaining, and no one seemed to be talking about the fact a giant bug had flown over them in clear view of everyone.

Koh was somewhat off-put by that, wondering if Hyoudou and his friends had something to do with it. He looked back, glancing at the student council members he shared homeroom with. Momo Hanakai, Tomoe Meguri, Reya Kusaka, Tsubasa Yura, and the newest member Genshirou Saji.

Coronamon had told him that they smelled human, but what they did certainly wasn't something normal humans could do. And there was what Saji had said, about the town being their 'territory', whatever that meant.

And then there was his new… accessory. Koh glanced at the golden bracelet that wrapped around his right wrist. He was still having a hard time believing it was really a golden axe that had the Nemean Lion within it. He remembered his mother telling him stories of her homeland of Greece, such as how Heracles fought and killed that lion, and now, supposedly, that very same lion was wrapped around his wrist. At least the lion had been quiet since he left for school.

The bell soon rang, signaling the start of class as everyone got to their seats. 'Well, whatever they are, I'll find out soon enough.'

After school, the two devil peerages made their way through Kuoh's shopping district to the Jasmine Dragon, as they agreed with Koh. "What even is this Jasmine Dragon place, anyway?" Saji asked.

"It's a local and rather popular tea shop," Akeno answered. "I sometimes go there to buy the tea Buchou likes."

"My mom sometimes goes there with her friends," Issei added. "The guy who runs it is pretty cool. I can't believe he's Hinode's uncle."

"Speaking of Hinode," Sona glanced at her servants who shared homeroom with Koh. "Hinode is in your class, correct?"

"Yes," Momo nodded. "He's seated two rows ahead of me."

"He doesn't always pay attention during class," Reya noted. "Instead he draws in his notebooks. He still does well, scoring in the top half of our class last year during exams."

"He's part of the kendo club, too," Saji added.

"Not anymore," Issei interjected. "He told me and Asia yesterday that he quit."

"Anything else?" Rias asked.

"Well, occasionally he arrives at school covered in bandages," Tsubasa said. "I asked him once how he gets them, but all he said was that it wasn't important."

They soon arrived at their destination: A large, traditional Japanese-style building, a cherry blossom tree stood by, overlooking the stone path leading from the sidewalk to the front entrance.

Asia looked around in wide-eyed wonder. "Oh~! This is really pretty!"

"It is rather beautiful," Akeno noted.

"I heard that it's a popular date spot," Reya added as they walked in. Sure enough, they could see several students, most of whom are couples sitting at the tables enjoying each other's company.

"Welcome to the Jasmine Dragon," a kindly-looking old man greeted them. He was bald with a dark grey beard, red eyes, light skin, and a big belly. He was wearing a light green men's kimono with dark red hakama and a black shirt. "How may we be of service?"

"Is Hinode here?" Sona asked.

"Oh, you must be the guests my nephew said would be coming today," he smiled before gesturing to the back toward a separate room. "Koh, Anne, and their other friend are waiting for you in the VIP room."

'Other friend? It must be that creature that was with them last night,' Sona silently realized. "Thank you, sir," Sona bowed.

"I'll be sure to get you all some tea, on the house," he said as they walked into the tea shop.

"You are too kind," Rias replied as they made their way to the VIP room.

Inside, they found Koh sketching something in his notebook while Anne was enjoying some green tea. For some reason, a third cup with a bowl of ochazuke was also present. "Oh, hey guys!" Anne greeted.

Koh looked up from his drawing. "I was beginning to wonder if you would show up."

"We are sorry for the delay," Sona apologized as the two devil peerages took seats around the tables.

"So, where should we start?" Koh asked as he put his drawing away.

"How about what those things were," Rias suggested.

"Yeah, what were they? Monsters of some kind?" Issei asked.

"Sorta," a new voice said, to the devil's surprise. Then, in the seat next to Koh, Coronamon suddenly appeared.

"What the…?" Kiba gaped.

"Hey!" Coronamon greeted them with a wave before he started eating the ochazuke.

"Coronamon, mind your manners while eating," Koh reprimanded the creature.

"Yes, Boss," Coronamon sighed.

"Ara ara, he's actually kinda cute," Akeno said.

"I know!" Anne nodded.

"I am NOT cute!" Coronamon protested.

"What is he? Some kind of lion yokai?" Tsubaki asked.

"Not even close," Koh replied. "See, Coronamon here, and the Kuwagamon from yesterday, they're both Digimon."

"Digimon?" Asia tilted her head.

"Digital Monsters. They're creatures from a place called the Digital World, another dimension that exists alongside ours," Koh further explained. "At least that's what I heard from some of the Digimon that live in the city."

"Wait, Coronamon and that thing from yesterday aren't the only ones?" Issei asked.

"They're all over the city, maybe even the country or world," Anne added. "Most of them are pretty nice and don't cause trouble."

"And even then the most they do are harmless pranks, like SnowAgumon and Psychemon who took the kendo girls' underwear last year," Koh casually added.

"HUH!? That's what happened?" Issei exclaimed. "Why the hell did they do that?"

"They like seeing you get beat up by them," Koh deadpanned.

"Murayama and Katase were threatening to castrate me! How is that a 'harmless prank'?!" Issei added, which caused all the males present to shiver.

"Just be glad you don't have to deal with them," Koh muttered. "Aside from them, there are a few bad Digimon who do cause trouble."

"That's where we come in!" Coronamon puffed up his chest.

Sona's eyes widened. "Wait, you mean all those odd incidents that have been happening over the past few years… They were all caused by Digimon?"

"Pretty much," Koh nodded. "Now, you're gonna answer some questions I have, starting with this…" Koh then looked at his bracelet and it glowed, causing Regulus to turn back into his axe form, to the wide-eyed astonishment of Anne and the devils present.

"What the hell is this?"

"No way…" Rias gapped.

"That's Regulus Nemea!" Sona gasped.

"Is that a Sacred Gear, too?" Saji asked.

"Not just any Sacred Gear," said Akeno. "It's one of the thirteen Longinus."

"So that axe is on the same level as my Boosted Gear?" Issei asked.

"OK, Sacred Gear? Longinus? Can somebody please explain what the hell this thing is already?" Koh demanded.

Rias turned towards Koh, her face taking on a look of utter seriousness. "Hinode, what I am about to say is really important, so listen carefully." She raised a finger. "Do you know of the Christian Religion?"

At this, Koh raised a brow. "Yeah, a friend of mine was a Christian. What's this gotta do with me?"

"Because all that stuff, all the religions, myths…they're real."

Koh blinked…then blinked again…

"Hinode?" Rias waved her hand in front of his face.

"Sorry, it's just…it's kinda hard to take in. I mean…Digimon are one thing, being digital lifeforms, but…real magical beings? That's a different pill to swallow." Koh then pointed to his axe. "And what's that gotta do with this?"

"That's because what you wield is a special artifact called a Sacred Gear. The Biblical God sought to make artifacts to help humanity, and that led to the creation of the Sacred Gears." Rias then pointed to the axe. "Among those gears, are 13 special ones called the Longinus. They are powerful enough that one can kill a god. And you happen to wield one of them."

Koh then glanced over at the axe and looked at it from top to bottom. "No shit? This thing can allow me to kill an actual god?"

"Well, not in its current state, but yes. What you wield is the Longinus called Regulus Nemea. It contains the Nemean Lion within it, and it grants you immense strength and the ability to be protected against projectiles." Rias then smiled as she pointed to Issei, "Issei has one too. It's called Boosted Gear and it contains the spirit of the Red Dragon Emperor, the Welsh Dragon Ddraig within it. It allows him to double his power every ten seconds."

Koh looked at Issei as the boy had a gigantic grin on his face. "I got a real badass gear, no doubt about it, but yours sounds awesome too!"

Koh shook his head as he smiled. "Hyoudou, never change." His face then turned serious, "But why is it showing up now?"

"Hinode, they activate at different times for individuals," Sona replied. "Some activate them really young, some activate them when they're old. Hell, there are times when people are unaware they have a gear and it never activates."

"It must have shown up when you encountered us yesterday. Being around all that magical power, especially Boosted Gear, must have caused it to awaken." Rias said.

Koh held his head in thought. 'Regulus did say the presence of Issei did manage to wake him up. But still…' He looked at the axe. 'Why didn't you show up when I needed you the most?'

"Mas…Koh." Regulus replied. "I have no control over when I wake up. It happens differently for others, as she said. I don't know what happened for you to get so melancholy, but it cannot be undone."

'Right, the past is in the past. But still…'

"Hinode, what's wrong?" Issei said as he tilted his head in confusion.

Koh could only sigh. "It's nothing, just some stuff about the past. And before you ask, I don't wanna talk about it. It happened, and there's nothing I can do about it. We good on that?"

Rias nodded, "It's fine. If you don't wanna talk about your past, we can accept that."

"So…what exactly are you guys?" Koh inquired as he eyed them. "I can clearly tell you're not human, after all the crap that happened yesterday."

Rias then began to smile. "I'm glad you asked." Suddenly, two black bat-like wings sprouted from behind her back, as well as Sona's, and the others. "Koh Hinode, my name is Rias Gremory, heiress of House Gremory, and I am a devil."

"My real name is Sona Sitri, heiress of House Sitri, and I am also a devil," Sona said as she too had a smile on her face.

Koh then blinked once again, then his gaze fell upon Issei. "Wait a minute. If Hyoudou has a Sacred Gear, then he should be a human, right? Why does he have the same wings as the rest of you?"

"That's because Issei Hyoudou was a human. However, he died and I resurrected him as a devil." Rias then pointed to Issei. "He's my Pawn. Akeno is my Queen, Kiba my Knight, Koneko my Rook, and Asia my Bishop."

"Saji and Nimura are also my Pawns, Tsubaki is my Queen, Yura my Rook, Tomoe my Knight, and Momo and Reya are my Bishops," Sona replied.

"OK, this is getting a bit overwhelming. What exactly do you mean you 'resurrected' him? And what do you mean by 'pawn'?"

"Ah, good question." Rias then reached into her pocket and pulled out two chess pieces, a knight and a rook. "Devils have low birth rates, so there was a bit of a population crisis after the war and-"

"OK, OK, time out. What war are you guys even talking about?"

"Oh right, must have forgotten to go over that. You see, there are three factions in the Christian religion: The Devils, who live in the Underworld, Fallen Angels, who were kicked out of Heaven and came to live in the Underworld, and Angels, denizens of Heaven whose job it is to smite the Devils and Fallen Angels. Are you following along Hinode?" Rias inquired of the goggles-wearing boy.

"Kinda."

"Alright, long ago, the Three Factions engaged in a long and bloody war. No one knows how it got started, but it ended with the deaths of the four original leaders of the Underworld: The Four Satans Lucifer, Leviathan, Beelzebub, and Asmodeus."

"So…what does this have to do with Hyoudou?" Koh raised a brow.

"I was actually getting to that. Due to the death toll on all sides, the devil Underworld went into a sort of population crisis. Not helping matters was that the descendants of the original Satans wanted to continue the war, causing a divide and then a civil war. In the end, the Satans' descendants, the Old Maou Faction, lost, and we relegated the position of Satan as a title. Basically think of it like a formality."

"So, the original Lucifer is dead, and there's someone using his name as a title to signify leadership?"

Rias nodded her head. "Pretty much. One of the new Satans, Ajuka Beelzebub, found a way to help with the population crisis: The Evil Pieces." She then pointed to the Knight and Rook. "Based on Chess, these pieces allow one to reincarnate someone into a Devil. Doesn't work on gods though, believe me, we tried." She then pointed back to Issei. "Issei is a Pawn, which allows him to take on the traits of a Knight, Rook, Bishop, and Queen within enemy territory. Rooks grant enhanced strength and defense, Knights enhance speed, Bishops enhance magic, and Queens are a combination of the former three pieces."

"This is a lot to take in," Koh said as Regulus turned back into his bracelet form. "So basically, Hyoudou's no longer human?"

"Dude, don't worry! This job comes with a lot of perks!" Issei said as he grinned once again. "I may be low-class right now, but I'll eventually work my way up to high-class and then…" The grin then turned perverted. "My Harem will finally be realized!"

Koh could only blink once again. "Never mind. He's still the same. But what's he going on about?"

"Reincarnated devils start off as low-class devils, and they have to work their way up to the top, to high-class in order to earn prestige. Pureblooded Devils, like me, are born High-Class." Rias then began to frown. "There is a sort of stigma against reincarnated devils, but that's mostly among the snobs. I treat those I reincarnate like my own family."

"As do I," Sona nodded.

Koh smiled. "So it's like me and Coronamon, then?"

"In a way, yes." Rias nodded. "He's your family, like how Issei is part of mine."

"Yeah, I'm still better than the perv over there!" Coronamon said as he stuck his tongue out, causing Issei to flinch.

"Hey! Watch what you say, you flaming cat!" Issei shouted at the Digimon.

"Make me, Pervo! I'm more powerful than you realize!"

"Coronamon, stop!" Koh scolded his Digimon partner, causing the Digimon to flinch. "But he is right. Coronamon may not look like it, but he packs some serious power."

Issei could only look at the Digimon. "I don't see it."

Now it was Koh's turn to glare at Issei. "Trust me, you do not want to mess with him. This is just his Rookie level. Wait until he gets to Champion level, and then you'll see."

"Champion level?" Rias raised a brow.

"Oh, right, probably forgot to mention this. See, Digimon are divided into different levels. First, there's the Fresh level, or Baby level. Then there's the In-Training level, followed by the Rookie level. Above that is the more powerful Champion level, like the Kuwagamon yesterday. From there, there is the Ultimate level, and finally, the most powerful and rarest transformation, Mega level." Koh then pointed to his watch. "This thing is called a Digivice, and it not only shows Coronamon's my partner but also allows him to transform into the higher levels. It's what also allows me to see Digimon when they're invisible."

"Wait…that thing can turn into different forms?" Issei then turned towards Rias. "Can I do that with Boosted Gear?"

"Currently, not now, but you can achieve a higher level with Balance Breaker. Think of you as the 'Rookie' and Balance Breaker as your 'Champion'." Rias replied.

"Really?! Awesome!" He then turned towards Coronamon. "Suck on that, kitty cat!"

"Oh bite me!" Coronamon yelled back.

Koh could only laugh slightly as he beheld his Digimon and Issei arguing. "I swear, it's like putting up with two kids."

Rias sighed. "No kidding."

"I certainly hope you are not overwhelming my nephew," Koh's uncle spoke as he entered the VIP room, carrying a tray of tea. "He has enough to deal with regarding the Digimon. Not to mention Anne has yet to say anything."

Anne flinched upon hearing that.

"Wait, Uncle, do you know about them?" Koh asked.

"When you get to my age, you pick up a thing or two," Koh's uncle replied, to the devil's surprise, as he placed the teacups on the table. "I hope you all enjoy the tea." At that, Koh's uncle moved on.

"…Guess it's my turn, now," Anne nervously said, something Koh wasn't used to.

"Anne?" Koh said in concern.

"Koh, have you ever wondered why my mother wears thick clothing even in the middle of summer?" Anne asked.

"Yeah," Koh nodded. He always thought it was weird, even when Anne said it was because her mother was shy. Then a thought struck. "Wait a minute…" Koh slowly looked toward the devils present, some of whom looked to have realized the same thing he did. "Anne… is your mom a vampire?"

"Got it in one," Anne nodded with a smile.

"You're a vampire?!" Saji asked in surprise.

"A real vampire?" Asia gasped.

"As in a bloodsucker?! You're kidding!" Issei exclaimed.

"Actually, I'm a Dhampir," Anne corrected. "I'm still half-human, thanks to my dad."

That caused the older members of Rias' peerage to give each other odd looks.

Koh recalled how, whenever they ate lunch together, Anne would occasionally drink a dark red liquid, saying it was tomato juice. "Let me guess… that stuff you sometimes drink isn't tomato juice."

Anne gave a nervous chuckle. "Don't worry. It's donor blood my mom gets from the hospital."

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Koh asked.

"Because…" Anne hesitated to answer. "Because I was afraid of how you would react," she said, her eyes starting to water up. "Afraid you would… hate me."

Koh's eyes soften. "Anne…"

"I was also afraid of you getting involved," Anne added. "The Supernatural World we live in is incredibly dangerous, and not just because of the tension between Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels. I worry about you enough already when you deal with a rogue Digimon, especially after…" she trailed off.

Koh realized what she was referring to, as did Coronamon.

"What is she talking about?" Issei asked.

Koh shook his head. "It's personal. Deals with the past. But it happened, and there's nothing that can be done. I don't like talking about it, so can we not dwell on it?"

Issei was about to speak up but Rias shushed him. "Trust me Issei, sometimes there are those of us who'd rather not talk about our past. The best thing is to move on and live for the future."

"I think that's enough for now," Sona spoke up, adjusting her glasses.

"I suppose we should leave as well," Rias said as she and Sona stood up. "Sorry for making things awkward at the end."

Koh shook his head. "It's fine."

"If you wanna know more about the Supernatural World, come to the old school building," Rias said. "That way, we can show you more about the other side of Kuoh you don't know about."

"And in return, I'll tell you about the various Digimon incidents around town and introduce you to some I know. Deal?"

Rias smiled, "Deal." With that, the peerages went out of the restaurant, leaving only Koh, Coronamon, and Anne.

"Coronamon," Koh began. "Something tells me our lives just got a lot weirder."

"Yep," Coronamon nodded as Anne gave a small chuckle.

Faraway, in a place unknown to any of the supernatural factions, a lone figure watched footage of the fight between the Kuwagamon, Koh, Coronamon, and the devils. By its side was the being who had killed the Kuwagamon, standing by like a mindless doll.

"Koh and Coronamon have made some fascinating new friends," its six eyes were keen on the devils, particularly watching with interest at their abilities. "Wouldn't you agree, MoonKnightmon?"

The other figure, MoonKnightmon, remained silent. It only briefly glanced at Koh for a moment.

AN: And that's a wrap on the first chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it.

By the way, Koh's Digivice is called a D-Watch, being based on the Digivice -V- from "Ghost Game" in function and an Apple Watch in appearance. Speaking of "Ghost Game", I'm sure some of you noticed that the Digimon here will be like how they're portrayed in "Ghost Game", mainly how, aside from a few bad eggs, they mostly stay away from humans and only cause trouble without really meaning too.

And before anyone asks, yes, Koh Hinode is based on Koh from the Digimon World Dawn and Dusk games. He isn't the same character just similar.

I also want to thank Squeegeman again for helping with this. They have been a big help.

So, without further ado… Have you ever seen a mummy before? The Egyptians believed that they would reincarnate and return in the next life if they preserved their bodies. It's a bit funny, isn't it? But perhaps some humans are more rotten than mummies. Next time on High School Digimon: Dawn x Dusk, "The Mummy's Ghost"!

And with all that out of the way, stay safe, stay healthy, and don't be racist!
