Chapter 3
At first, it didn't seem like anything was wrong, but suddenly Giyu felt a rush of air from above him. He looked up to see three demons descending on them, and they looked hungry.
"Water Breathing, Fourth Form: Striking Tide!" he yelled as he sliced off the arms of one demon. Giyu and Shinobu stood back-to-back as the demons landed on the street.
One was a girl with dark brown hair to her shoulders. Green, vine-like markings covered her skin, and her green kimono had a leaf pattern. Her left eye was engraved with the words "Lower Two."
So she's one of the Twelve Kizuki. Giyu thought.
The second demon was a boy with short, black hair and a dark blue kimono. The third demon, the one whose arms Giyu had cut, had blond hair and a yellow kimono. He regenerated his arms as Shinobu jumped, ready to inject her poison, but he moved in a flash, stopping in front of Giyu and throwing a punch towards the water Hashira.
"Water Breathing, Second Form: Water Wheel" he said as he cut off the demon's arm. Suddenly, Giyu felt the ground shake. He jumped as a swarm of vines burst through the ground. One sliced his arm and one wrapped around his leg, but suddenly Shinobu was there.
"Insect Breathing, Butterfly Dance: Caprice." She sliced through the vines, cutting him free. They landed on a roof, turning to face the demons below them.
"Blood Demon Art: Obscuring Darkness" suddenly, everything was dark. Giyu couldn't even see Shinobu standing next to him. But he could sense an attack coming.
"Blood Demon Art: Slicing Vines!"
"Water Breathing, Eleventh Form: Dead Calm." Suddenly he could see again. There were vine fragments blown everywhere. Shinobu was grasping her left shoulder. Blood was seeping out from under her hand.
