Chapter 5
No! He thought. I was too late! The vine demon was laughing.
"That was a hard fall." she said. "I doubt your friend will survive, but we'll eat her before long!" Suddenly all three demons were rushing towards Giyu.
"Water Breathing, Sixth Form: Whirlpool!" he yelled. He twisted quickly, hitting all three demons. However, he'd missed all of their vital spots.
Damn it! He thought. I'm not used to fighting multiple opponents at once and if I try to kill them one at a time, the other two will go after Shinobu! I'll have to fight all three at the same time!
He rushed over to Shinobu. She was alive, but unconscious and severely injured. He took another deep breath.
I can't let her die. I can't let her die. Because I, I'm in love with her. Even if she hates me, or thinks I'm an idiot. I love her.
And with that realization, Giyu found new strength. He could feel something hot and wet running down his cheeks. His eyes were bleeding.
"Blood Demon Art: Obscuring Darkness!" As everything went dark, he closed his eyes. He could feel the incoming attack and didn't need to see it.
"Water Breathing, First Form: Water Surface Slash." And now, the speed demon's head was flying off his neck.
