Chapter 9
Shinobu awoke slowly. The first thing she saw were Giyu's ocean blue eyes, softly looking down on her. Then, to her surprise, he did something that barely anyone had seen him do.
Giyu smiled.
"Did you kill them?" she asked, her voice soft.
"Yes. With a little help from you, of course." He said, tilting his head slightly. "How are you feeling?
"I've been better." She answered.
"Well, it seems Aoi patched you up good enough."
"I'll have to thank her." Shinobu smiled.
"Just don't push yourself too much." Giyu said. He started to stand, wanting to give Shinobu some resting time but she grabbed his hand.
"Stay. Please." She whispered. He nodded.
"I'll stay."
