Sookie's POV:

I wasn't sure where I had popped to. Niall had only sent me coordinates through some sort of faery telepathic connection. If it was possible, I would've taken Eric with me, but this was a one-person trip.

I was definitely in a woodland area, possibly further north of Bon Temps? I look ahead of me and see a large two-story cabin. Smoke was coming from the chimney and music was playing loudly inside of it. I listen attentively to the song. It was a song by Duran Duran.

I focus more intensely on who was in the cabin. I could sense two creatures and another one, possibly a were, in deep pain. I close off my connection with the were individual due to the immense pain and trauma they were experiencing. I make sure my weapons were within reach on my body and I hold both bottles of lemon juice in my hands.

I walk up to the front door and take a few deep breaths. This was it. I knew the ones who had killed Gran were in here.

I close my eyes to focus one last time and kick open the door with all my might. The wooden door splinters as I sprint swiftly into the room. I turn to my left and see Lochlan and Naeve having sex on the fur carpet in front of the fireplace. I quickly look to my right to see a young woman tied onto a large brown table. I take a quick look at her face and recognized her. Knowing there wasn't any time to help her, I throw one bottle at Naeve and the other at Lochlan. One bottle hits Lochlan, while the other misses Naeve.

"You fucking half-breed whore!" Naeve hisses loudly.

I look to see Lochlan writhing in pain as his skin makes a sizzling sound as it burns. I take my iron sword and attack Naeve who dodges my first offensive move.

I swing my sword a few more times before Naeve begins counter-attacking me. She takes one of her weapons that was lying near the window and begins hitting at me. Suddenly, I see Lochlan rising to my right. He looks at me with deep hatred and anger and picks up the fireplace poker and throws it at me. I move to dodge it and it gives Naeve the opportunity to strike at me. Her blade pierces my shoulder and I cry out in pain.

"You stupid bitch! We spent months trying to get you out of your pathetic hole and you are dumb enough to come to us?" Naeve growls.

"We will enjoy killing you and your brother just like how we killed your whore of a grandmother and parents!" Lochlan says in a fierce tone.

Lochlan lunges at me with his mouth open. His long sharp teeth bite my upper arm. Hundreds of horrible and traumatic memories from my previous torture experience with these two, come flooding back instantly. I scream out in excruciating pain as his teeth take a chunk of my flesh out.

I fall back onto the floor as my iron sword falls beside me.

My upper lip trembles in fear as Naeve kicks it away from my reach.

"Naeve, get the other table ready. I am going to enjoy playing with this one for a few hours," Lochlan says in a vile tone.

I could feel my subconscious wanting to wander away and hide from what was about to come. I could hear the 80s music continuing to play in background. Suddenly, out of nowhere, newfound confidence starts building up within me.

"You are strong," an inner voice whispers to me. I try to focus on it. I wasn't sure who it was. Was it coming from Eric? Or from Gran?

I stop my lower lip from quivering and look up at Lochlan who was now stroking himself in front of me with a disgusting look on his face, as he stared down at me.

"You have no power over me. I won't let you win this time," I say in the most powerful voice I could muster.

I grab the iron axe that I had attached to my back and hit him right in the crotch. He roars out in immense pain and falls to the floor.

I call to my sword and in an instant, it is back in my hand as I get off the floor and lunge at Naeve. She blocks two of my swings but is unable to avoid the third. In one last swift move, I plunge my iron sword through her stomach.

I look behind me to see Lochlan dead from his wound and continue to watch Naeve die slowly in pain. I pull my sword out of her and grab my axe from Lochlan. I shake their blood off my weapons and reattach them to my body. I look at both wounds on my arms. They were bleeding pretty badly and the pain was throbbing. I felt like I was going to pass out.

I drop to my knees as my eyes begin to flutter.

I try to manage my breathing to focus on reaching Eric.

Just as I begin to pass out, a golden light shines in front of me. Was I dying? Was I going to heaven to be with Gran and all the others that died before me?

"Sookie," the grand majestic voice calls out to me.

"I'm ready," I whisper back as I pass out.

Eric's POV:

"Sookie!" I howl out loudly as I continue to fly in the air.

I could feel every inch of her emotions as I fly towards her location. I was about ten minutes away from her. I feel her immense pain flowing through our bond. My own emotions start to overtake me. She was close to death. Suddenly, my own anguish bursts through me at the thought of losing her. If she died now, I would gladly end my own life to be with her. I had learned that after living a thousand years in this world, that my life only truly started when I had first met her. I think back to that first meeting with her, and I knew at that moment that I would love her more than anyone else I had ever met in my existence.

I focus on finding more speed within me to get there quicker.

I finally reach the location and speed right into the cabin. Niall was holding Sookie in his arms.

"I stopped the bleeding," Niall says to me.

I could not help but stare at her in a horrified shock. Her arms looked to be badly damaged. Her beautiful golden skin was pale and almost blue. The light around her was slowly dimming.

"She needs medical attention from our kind," he says.

I take Sookie in my arms and fly out with her. Her body felt cold and light.

We reach the secret supe hospital and right away, the medical staff take her to one of the operating rooms.

"Your majesty, you must stay here," the hospital attendant says to me.

My phone suddenly rings and I look at the unknown caller ID. I decide to answer it. It was Niall Brigant.

"What happened?" I say in a dazed tone.

"Sookie killed them both," he replied. "There was another girl in there. A young were-panther. Her injuries are grave. My people are bringing her to the hospital but I do not think she will make it."

"Braedon will know about Naeve and Lochlan soon," he answers. "Be ready. He will be coming there to seek vengeance. There is another battle brewing in the portal right now. They are trying to close it. I will be there to help you and Sookie as soon as I possibly can."

I call my armed vampires to the hospital. They were about ten minutes away.

I couldn't wait for the doctor to finish with Sookie. I needed to get her somewhere safe, so I walk into the room.

"Sir, you can't be in here…." one of the nurses says.

I watch Dr. Ludwig as she hooks Sookie to an IV and is wrapping her wounds.

"Back off vampire," she sneers. "If you want this girl to live, you have to let me do my work."

"There is no time. The ones who tried to kill her are coming for her. I need to get her out of here," I say quickly.

Dr. Ludwig thinks for one moment, before replying, "Very well. Move her carefully and give her some of your vampire blood. I will wake her up."

The doctor does something to Sookie and her eyes begin to flutter open. As soon as her eyes are wide open, the doctor and the rest of her team vacate. I hear alarms going off as dozens of hospital workers and patients begin evacuating.

"Sookie," I whisper against her cheek as I run my lips against it.

"Eric," she whispers. "I'm not dead?"

"No, my lover," I answer. "But you are seriously wounded."

"Did Crystal make it?" she asks me softly.

I wasn't sure who Crystal was, but I assume it was the were panther in the cabin. "No, my lover, I am afraid she did not make it."

"You have to take my blood. You are very weak right now. My blood should give you enough energy to get out of this bed. We need to get somewhere safe," I tell her.

She nods her head, as I bite into my wrist and put it over her mouth. We keep eye contact as she continues to drink my blood. I could feel my own strength diminishing, as she continues to drink. I had to stop her as this moment from drinking more or else I would not be strong enough for the forthcoming battle. But I could not. I wanted her to be strong. Her strength mattered to me more than mine.

The wound on my wrist closes up and I help Sookie get out of the bed. I stop and listen with my vampire ears to the battle that just began on the main floor. I could hear my vampire forces fighting the faeries who had just arrived.

"My sword," Sookie trembles.

I hand her the sword and I hold onto her and walk out to the main waiting area on this floor.

Suddenly the elevator pings open and five faeries come walking out of it. One of them was Braedon. Just at that moment, three of my armed guards join me. They had come up from the staircase.

"You will pay for killing my two most beloved family members," Braedon snarls at Sookie. "I will destroy your fae bloodline!"

"Protect her!" I order my men.

I take my sword out and begin swinging at the faeries. Braedon focuses on Sookie but my men defend her and fight Braedon and two other faeries.

I manage to kill two of them. I turn back to see one of the faeries killing one of my men. The other two attempt to continue to defend Sookie, but I could tell that they were going to be defeated soon by the faeries.

I throw my two iron daggers at them and they hit the last two faeries. Braedon was all that remained.

"Die, you bitch!" Braedon snarls out as he swings his sword at Sookie but she raises her iron sword to defend herself.

A bright red light shines around him and he raises his hand to strike her with his faery magic. I watch as Sookie tries to duck out of the way, but I realized, at the moment, that no matter how far she moved out of the way, or if I tried to kill him right now with my own weapon, that Braedon's fae magic was going to hit her and that she would meet her death. Time stands still for a moment as I recall Niall's words to me, "Are you willing to die for her?"

In my last moment, I move in vampire speed in front of Sookie and take the hit for her. I feel my body burn to an enormous degree that I was sure that I had just been cast into the sun.

My last thought is of Sookie as I meet my final death.

Sookie's POV:

I see a bright red light and watch Eric disappear in front of me. He had taken all the damage from Braedon's magic, that was meant for me.

For a moment, I was frozen. Then the pain of losing my husband, my one true love, hits me with a deep sharp blow, that I knew my heart would never heal from. I scream out in anguish as my body begins glowing blue. I look at Braedon, with immense pain and suffering in my eyes, as I scream and let every ounce of strength and power flow out of my body. He looks at me in shock, before my blue energy hits him and blows his body into a million pieces.

My glow slowly diminishes as I cry out Eric's name in anguish.

I wail loudly. I couldn't live without him. I didn't want to live in this world without him.

I grab the iron sword, intending to pierce my heart right through it.

Just as I was about to do it, Niall comes into the room and grabs it away from me.

"Noooooo!" I cry out. "I want to die!"

He places his hand on my forehead and I lose consciousness.

Oh Eric, is my last thought as I fade away.

A/N: Yes, like I said there will be heartache for Sookie but I would not kill Eric off for good. Southern Vampire mysteries needs Eric Northman and my fanfic stories need him as well. He will be back!
