Chapter IV

He was a genius. In every aspect of the word. There was no denying that. It was a fact that he had lived with since he was young. He was a genius.

No matter how many times he had heard the truth spoken about him the word had never felt special until the death of his father, Sakumo Hatake; and as much as he loved the man it did not erase the memories of isolation and self destructive behaviors that he had exhibited until his teacher and pseudo father had given him a purpose.

So when he entered the room that housed Kushina and her little girl...he did not expect to see the glare coming from both Minato and Naruto. One sending shivers down his spine and the other too cute for words.

"She was waiting for you to show." Minato said. "After she woke from her nap."

Kakashi wanted to sigh. "I'm here now."

Kushina laughed. "Leave him be."

Minato huffed. Turning his back to the teen in front of him. "I just want him to always know that his little sister Naruto was worried about him."

Kakashi sighed. He knew that he had escaped a harsher glare from his mentor and father figure. But to have Naruto ignore him was unexpected.

He enjoyed her laughter and bubbly aura. As any child exhibited. But with missions building up he didn't know whether he would be able to see the bright blue eyes of his precious little sister without tears.

"I understand that Minato." Kushina said. "Let Kakashi have her for a while. We need to talk."

"But-" Minato wanted to protest but the look Kushina sent him resulted in silence.

Minato handed Naruto to the teenager.

"Make sure that you protect her Kakashi."

He nodded. Hopefully he didn't have to deal with unexpected nuisances while heading toward the ramen stand. Because that would be painful and beyond stressful.
