In White's Domain…
White flexed her body in several kinds of stretches, as the activity seemed to help her relax a lot more, as well as help her shake the rust from being stuck in bed for a while.
"Sounds like that the heroes are handling things well on their end." White remarked, before she flexed her arms behind her head. "For everything that's been shaking up the universe… it's nice to know that everything is working well while I'm taking a break."
"White." Yellow remarked, as he walked up to White, as the latter turned to him.
"Yeah, what is it, Yellow?" White asked, as she stopped stretching for a moment. "Another visitor?"
"A few actually." Yellow answered back. "Cyan, Blue and Indigo already met with them. As for who they are… well, you should go and see for yourself."
White nodded, before following Yellow, as they soon found the three other Color Gods mingling with Yukari, as well as the Creator and the Destroyer, as the married primordial god duo were chatting well with the others.
"You look almost the same as ever, Indigo." Destroyer smirked. "I would have thought that you would have changed that attire of yours a little."
"And I see that your taste in fashion hasn't changed much." Indigo retorted back calmly, causing the Destroyer to chuckle slightly.
"So, Blue… How has your role as a Color Goddess been lately?" Creator asked back. "I heard that there was quite the chaos over there, as a result of many things happening at once…"
"It's fine. I handle the situation well enough." Blue assured the Creator. "No little thanks to your fellow goddess of chaos."
"I aim to please." Yukari snarked back, before noticing that White and Yellow were present. "Ah, just as well. I see that you've recovered quite well from what you have done to bring Mark back to life."
"Well, to be honest, it wasn't that tiring. I just simply used the chance to take a well-deserved break." White responded back. "Anyways, I'm glad that you took the time out of your schedules to come to meet me, I really appreciate it."
"Bah, why couldn't we visit a friend of ours when she's a bit under the weather, distant you may be." Destroyer barked out heartilty. "I knew that a tough little bird like you wouldn't let any of this get one over you."
"But are you sure that you're okay? After everything we've been hearing about Black causing more chaos…" Creator answered back. "...And considering that Magina has told us about the considerable danger mounting up on our representatives' side… I hope to at least check in to make sure that you're all aware of what's coming ahead."
"That reminds me, Yukari." Cyan stated, before turning to Yukari herself. "You were indeed the one responsible for that temporary space-time distortion in a part of my assigned universe, wasn't it? Considering that it resolved itself neatly, I didn't need to bring it to your attention urgently, but it's still a cause of concern. What happened there?"
"Exactly as you said. Time and space converged to a singularity." Yukari answered back. "What I did was limit the effects of the singularity to only the world and its surrounding space. No other worlds were touched by this anomaly, and I have triple-checked to make sure that statement remains. What resulted was a local variant of the Eternal Return theorem. Time and space reverted to normal… but without the influence of the pseudo-deity of destruction that distorted it so strongly, it returned to a far more standard state. But I will not bore you with further details regarding this. I think we all agree that there is a far more pressing matter to address."
"Indeed." Blue nodded. "...Tell me, Yukari, Creator. Were you all in on the fact that you had your own chosen act as a vessel for one of the most volatile Outer Gods that are known to exist in reality? Why have you done nothing to banish it from him? Do you even know what you're allowing to exist?"
"...Yes." Yukari stated, as the Creator turned to her. "...Yes, I know what I have advocated, and I have long taken responsibility for it. In fact, if you want to take punitive action for causing an incident that could have snowballed into causing an entire universe to go dead… especially yours, Blue… I will not hesitate to accept it. This is my failing, and I am not above the consequences of it all."
"If we had your deal, we would have sealed-" Yellow growled.
"Yellow, enough." White stated, as her expression was serious, before turning to Yukari. "...Yukari, while you are an individual that can be said to stand amongst us in terms of influence and strength… you have yet to show the same wisdom and knowledge that we all share. Do you know why this is a serious breach of trust?"
"We do." Destroyer answered back solemnly. "It is fortunate that Richard was able to latch to an aspect of Nyarlahotep that is neither good nor evil. It simply is. We count our lucky stars that we didn't end up with a hollow shell after everything that he went through. He was still human underneath… he hates and loves, he saves and kills… he remains as he was, even though his mind was scarred with traumatic scars of what happened. And I believe those scars are the reasons he's not an unfeeling monster with no concept of morality."
"That barely justifies his continued tenure as leader of a hero team amongst our reality." Indigo answered back. "What if your heroes failed to save him before going through the brink of sanity? What if he turned out exactly like the creature in the black history that Chrono peeked into, a godless creature that destroys without reason or restraint… How many lives and souls would have been lost as a result of all of this?"
The pair of primordial gods, as well as Yukari were silent in response, before the Creator spoke up.
"...I will not deny that possibility." The Creator answered back. "...But you said it yourself. Richard chose to remain human in the end of it all, because it was the people around him that reminded him that his pain was his own… and that he still had something to go back to. He had many reasons to lose himself… but just as many as he had reasons to become what you fear… he had just as many reasons to become what others have aspired him to become… someone who can protect and save many lives with his own newfound power. And all of this… grim as it might be… it has strengthened his heart and resolve to do good. He may never become a true hero like Jexi, David and many others… but he will be someone who will use his power with the responsibility it demands. I believe in Richard, for I have seen him in his best and worst… and I know that he is a good person, plagued with human hatred and sin he might be… but still a virtuous existence who will serve to be a far more benevolent avatar of the Crawling Chaos than any other would be."
"Just what I expect from a high goddess of creation and life, not too different to me." White remarked, as her tone was respectful to the Creator's appeal. "I suppose your words aren't without unfounded evidence. I have seen Richard aspire to become good, and prepare for what lies ahead for him… and I believe that if he risks falling again… the one who knows his worst would be there to help him… as well as the one friend who never left his side and believed him. These two things will ensure that he will never truly fall to despair and doubt."
"Gus and the other Richard…" Yukari remarked. "...I suppose that the two of them have become such tenacious load-bearing chains for the castle of burden that lies within his mind. I doubt that any in the future could ever hope to threaten that… as they support each other with the best of their abilities, like a true symbiotic relationship."
"So, regarding all of this… We haven't exactly reneged on our deal, have we?" Destroyer asked. "...Actually, scratch that, I think it's high time that we redefine that contract. All of this has shown that we should have the right to act on our own problems. Hell, Magina walked around like a waddling duck in your universes, and she hasn't done enough to cause problems. So why not let us access the universes? We promise that we'll hold ourselves to her standards… and we'll make sure that problems like these never pop up again."
"...I suppose it would not be out of the question." Cyan hummed with hand under his chin, before turning to White. "What do you think? You were the one who made the deal, and the one who holds absolute control over it."
"I trust in Magina, as well as Yukari and the others to do what they can. They can help us in times of dire need." Blue stated. "...Consider that my personal recommendation for all of this."
"I abstain from this." Indigo stated, crossing his arms. "On one hand, the argument is solid for them to remain… but also remember that problems from their end will come to ours. You have seen what the Cross-Verse has brought along with them. Problems on their end will not remain so, as long as the resolvers assist ours."
Yellow was silent, before he then threw his hands up, upon being looked at by everyone in the vicinity.
"Urgh… go right ahead, I don't exactly care too much about this." Yellow sighed. "But just so you know, the three of you: If Richard goes out of line… we won't hesitate to throw him into a seal and make sure that he never comes out until all of us say so."
"That is far more lenient terms than we need." Destroyer stated. "Deal accepted."
"I agree with my partner." Creator nodded back.
"Thank you for your investment of trust in us." Yukari bowed gently with a smile. "I'll make sure that it's not unpaid. In fact, I expect to pay it back tenfold at least for this favor."
"And by the way, I heard that Black got his ass shafted by the heroes again." Destroyer remarked. "How's that doing for him? Bruised that insufferable ego of his?"
"I would have you do well not to mock him." White frowned. "He is my brother after all, for all of the things he does. And after having an enlightening talk with a certain prophet by the name of Woz… I think that he has given me ideas on how to help Black settle down."
"Woz, eh…?" Yukari remarked. "...Hm, I might need to have a talk with him sooner or later. After all, it would be best if we cross-dimensional entities have some form of contact between each other."
"And I genuinely wish you good luck on your endeavors, White." Creator answered back. "A monster in divine flesh he might be, Black isn't any worse than any other villain of his caliber in terms of psychology."
"Thank you." White smiled back, before Yukari gestured for the Creator and Destroyer to follow her through a sukima to leave.
