"Do you remember…" The Master stopped the swivel chair and took out a pocket watch from his pocket. "..all those fairy tales about the Toclafane when we were kids.. back home?"
He gently rubbed his thumb against the Gallifreyan inscriptions. "Where is it, Doctor?"

"Gone."

He stood up, placing the watch on the table. "How can Gallifrey be gone?"

"… it burnt." The Tenth Doctor sighs heavily.

"And the Time Lords?"

"Dead." That surprised him. "And the Daleks, more or less. What... what happened to you?"

"The Time Lords only resurrected me because they knew I'd be the perfect warrior for a Time War. I was there when the Dalek Emperor took control of the Cruciform. I saw it." He stared at the watch. "I ran. I ran so far. Made myself human so they could never find me. Because… I was so scared."

"I know."

"All of them?" He slowly grins, "Come on, Doctor. Where are you hiding her? She wasn't with me all those years and she's not with your little band."

"Who?" There was confusion in his voice. "What are you talking about?"

The Master let out a soft chuckle. "Play dumb all you like. I'll find her eventually."

"I… I seriously don't know what you're talking about. Did- Did someone else survive? Who?"

"Heh… hehe.. you don't-" He starts laughing. "You don't know! HAHAHA!"
He sits back down and picks up the watch, flipping it over. The letter 'S' was engraved.
"The Doctor doesn't know."

"Master. Who else survived?" The Doctor pleaded. "I've.. I've been alone ever since. But not anymore. Don't you see? It'll be just the three of us."

"Regenerate. Just regenerate." The Doctor begged, "Please. Please! Just regenerate, come on."

"And spend the rest of my life imprisoned with you?" The Master scoffs.

"You've got to. Come on. It can't end like this. You and me, all the things we've done. Axons. Remember the Axons? And the Daleks?" Tears began to fall down his face, "What- what about the other Time Lady? You said she escaped too, right? Only three of us left. Regenerate!"

The Master groans as he hands the fob watch to the Doctor. He whispers, "Asteria. Her name.. is Asteria."

"Just regenerate, please. We can, we can find her together."

He smiled, "How about that… I win." He lets out another groan, "Will it stop, Doctor? Will the drumming ever stop?"
He closes his eyes and his hearts stop.

The Doctor screams and hugs his longtime friend tightly, sobbing.

The door slides open, revealing Rory, awkwardly holding two babies. "Now, Mrs. Williams, that is never ever going to happen."

Amy gives him a quick kiss before grabbing one of her daughters. "Oh my god. Where have they been? What have they done to them?"

"They're fine, Amy, they're fine. I checked." He tears up, smiling, "Twins? Oh, God, twins. I was gonna be cool. I wanted to be cool."

Amy smiles, "You're okay. Crying Roman with two babies. Definitely cool."
They hug and kiss, occasionally gushing over each baby.

A few minutes pass by, and the Eleventh Doctor comes in.

He stops in his tracks, "Ugh, kissing and crying." He jokes, "I'll uh I'll be back in a bit."

"Get in here." The redhead rolls her eyes, wiping her tears away.
"Come and meet our daughters." Rory added.

"Hello." Doctor grabs one of their little hands, "Hello, babies."

"Melody." Amy introduces the one on her arms, and nods at the baby in Rory's, "And Jessica."

"Jessica and Melody Pond, hello."

"Melody Williams." Rory corrects. While having twins was a surprise, he'd like for one of the twins to have his last name.

"Is a geography teacher." Amy argued, "Melody Pond is a superhero."

The babies cooed.

The Doctor nods, "Well, yes, I suppose she does smell nice. Never really sniffed her. Maybe I should give it a go." He steps back and opens his arms, "Amelia Pond, come here."

Amy hugs him as Melody is slightly squished in the middle.

"I'm sorry we took so long."
"It's okay. I knew you were coming." She reassures him, "Both of you. My boys."

Jessica began to whine which made Melody fussy.

"It's alright, I'm not taking Melody away." He then wiggles a finger at Melody, "And really, you should call her 'Mommy', not big milk thing."

"Okay, what are you doing?" Amy questions his sanity.

"I speak Baby."

"No, you don't." She scoffs.

"I speak everything, don't I, Melody Pond." He looks over at Jessica, immediately pouting. He tugs his bowtie, "No, it's not. It's cool."

The Doctor comes out of the Tardis with a very old wooden cot.

"She's not hungry, she's tired. And Jessica is upset because Melody is upset. It's a twin thing." He stops just in front of the Ponds, "Sorry, girls, they're just not listening."

"What's this?"
"Very pretty, according to your daughters."

"It's a cot." Rory states, "But where would you get a cot?"
"It's really.. really old." Amy adds, as they place their daughters inside. "Doctor.. was this Sparrow's?"

"No. No, it's real. It's my hair." He pulls on a few strands, "See? I didn't glue it on." He gives Jessica a fake stern look, "You know, you're being really mean."

Melody gurgles, laughing and Jessica gave a toothless smile.

His hearts melt.

As soon as the Doctor entered the control room, Madame Vastra stood in front of him.

"Melody and Jessica aren't related."

His eyebrows furrowed. "Sure they are. They're Amy's kids, twins."

She directed him to the screen, "Not according to this. Amy gave birth to only Melody. Now, I have a simple question to ask. Is Melody human?"

"Sorry, what?" He looked at her, puzzled. "Of course she is. Completely human. What are you talking about?"

Dorium steps in, "They've been scanning her since she was born." He points, "And I think they found what they were looking for."

The Time Lord looks, "Human DNA."

"Look closer. Human Plus." Vastra corrected, "Specifically Human Plus Time Lord."

"But that's not possible." The Doctor shakes his head, "She's Amy and Rory's daughter. They're human."

"You've told me about your people. They became what they did through prolonged exposure to the Time Vortex." Vastra recalls, "The Untempered Schism."

"Over billions of years! It doesn't just happen."

"So, how close is she? Can she even regenerate?"

"No.." He wasn't positive, "No, I don't think so."

"You don't sound so sure."

"Because I don't understand how this happened." He says, frustrated, pacing back and forth. "And Jessica? What about Jessica?"

"Completely human." Vastra then sighs, "Which leads me to ask… when did it happen?"

"When? When what?"

"I'm trying to be delicate. I know how you can blush. When did this baby, Melody, begin?"

His face heats up, "Oh, you mean…"

She nods, "Quite."

He starts pacing again, "How would I know? It's all human-y private stuff. They don't put up a balloon or anything."

"But…" Vastra suggests. "Could the child have begun on the Tardis, in flight, in the Vortex?"

"No, no." He scoffs at the idea, "It's all.." He flails his arms around, "Sexy fish vampires and blowing up stuff. And Rory- Rory wasn't there in the beginning. He and I didn't exist, then we were plastic. Then Sparrow had to reboot the Universe- long story. So technically, the first time they were in the Tardis together, in this version of reality.." His voice dies down, "was on their…"

"On their what?"

"On their wedding night."

"What I don't get is Jessica." Dorium chimed in, "What's her part in all of this? If she's not Amy's, and she's fully human, why take her?"

"Oh, look, your cot." River Song walks over to it. "Haven't seen this in a long time."

"No, you tell me." He demands, "Tell me who you are."

The blonde takes his arm and places it on the railing. "I'm telling you. Can't you read?"

Frustrated at her antics, he reads the label in Gallifreyan and his eyes widen. "Oh. Ooh." He looks back at the blonde, "Hello."

River smirks, "Hello."

"But, but that means…"

She nods, "I'm afraid it does."

"But you and I.. we um we…" He mimics a kiss.

River rolled her eyes, playfully, "A little payback, nothing more."

The Time Lord reaches into his pocket, taking out a pocket watch. "What about.. where is she?"
He searches her face when she didn't answer right away.

The blonde leaned in, "You'll know when you find me."

He clenches the watch and takes a step back. "Right, Vastra and Jenny, till next time." He gives a quick hug to the Ponds, "Rory, Amy, I know where to find your daughter and on my life, she will be safe."

"Wait-" "Doctor!"

The Doctor turns off the forcefield around the Tardis. "River, take them all home."
His ship dematerializes when he steps in.

[Face: Emma Rigby]

"Reminder: The Library has been breached. Others are coming. Reminder: The Library has been breached. Others are coming. Reminder: The Library-"

The door was blown open.
River Song and Sparrow led their team into the room and they quickly spotted the Tenth Doctor.

They stopped in front of him and adjusted their visors, so their face was visible.

"Hey, Old Man." Sparrow grinned. River smiled, "Hello, sweetie."

"Get out."
His companion scolded, "Doctor."
"All of you. Turn around, get back in your rocket and fly away." The Doctor walks past the two girls and points at the rest, "Tell your grandchildren you came to the Library and lived. They won't believe you."

The two girls shared a look and proceeded to remove their helmets.

"Pop your helmets, everyone. We've got breathers." River shook her head to let her blond hair out.

"How do you know they're not androids?" Anita asked as the rest of the team followed her command.

"Because we've dated androids." Sparrow untied her bun to let her long auburn hair loose. "They're rubbish."

"Who is this?" Lux walks up to River, "You said we were the only expedition. I paid for exclusives."

"We lied. We're always lying." River smirked, "Bound to be others."

Lux walked back to his assistant, "Miss Evangelista. I want to see the contracts."

Sparrow rolled her eyes and looked at the Time Lord, "You came through the north door, right? What was the damage?"

Ignoring her question, the Doctor pleaded. "Please, just leave. I'm asking you seriously and properly- hang on." He looks back, "Did you say expedition?"

"My expedition. I funded it." Lux replied.

"Oh, no, you're not, are you? Tell me you're not archaeologists."

"Got a problem with archaeologists?" River raised an eyebrow.

"I'm a time traveler. I point and laugh at archaeologists."

The blonde extends her hand, smiling wide. "Professor River Song, archaeologist. And this is my wife, Sparrow."

Sparrow takes out their worn-out diary, flipping through.

"Thanks." River began.

"For what?" The Doctor asks.

"The usual. For coming when we call."

"Oh, that was you?" He recalls the message on his physic paper.

Sparrow scoffs lightly, "You can stop pretending." She stops flipping the pages, looking at him, "Unless there's a reason to pretend?"

".. a fairly good one, actually." He slowly said.

River takes the diary and does her own flip through. "Going by your face, I'd say it's early days for you, yeah?"

Sparrow furrowed her eyebrows. "Why is your mind closed off?"

He shot her a glare, "Why does it matter?"

The auburn girl stood up without a word and walked over to Proper Dave at the terminal.

"I get the two of you don't get along, but she's your daughter." River glared, "Least you could do is make an effort-"

"Daughter?" He stutters, "I- I don't have a daughter."

"God, you're so annoying this young!" Sparrow threw her arms up.

"Young?" The Doctor grew angry, "Who are you!? Both of you?"

"My name is Asteria. You know, the daughter you abandoned."

His body froze and his breath hitched. She spoke Gallifreyan.

Asteria? That was the name He mentioned.
How could he not notice her essence..? It was practically reeking once he became aware.

Sparrow is a Time Lady.. and his daughter.

"Sparrow, please." River pulled her back.

"We're trying to help. Why can't you accept that?" Sparrow argued. The blonde walked her towards their team. "He's just so.. frustrating." She mumbles, crossing her arms.

"I know… I have to tell him."
"He's your husband."
"And you're my wife." The blonde waited.

The Time Lady sighed, "Go ahead."

River took a deep breath and went to stand in front of the Doctor. "One day, I'm going to be someone that you trust completely. But we can't wait for you to find out." She looked back at Sparrow, "I'm sorry. I'm very sorry."

She leaned into the Doctor's ear and whispered a single word. "Are we good?"

The Tenth Doctor's jaw dropped and looked at the blonde, shocked.

"Doctor, are we good?"

"Yeah.." He slowly nods, glancing at his daughter, who looked ready to cry. "We're good."

River nods, taking back her screwdriver and goes stand by her wife.

Sparrow checks the shadows with River's screwdriver.

"You know, it's funny, in a way. I keep wishing the Doctor was here."

"The Doctor is here, isn't he? He is coming back.. right?" Anita asks.

"You know when you see a photograph of someone you know, but it's from years before you knew them.. and it's like they're not them yet." Sparrow tried to explain.

"Yes, the Doctor's here. He came when we called, just like he always does." River continued, "But not my Doctor, not her father. Now our Doctor, we've seen armies turn and run away. And he'd just swagger off back to his Tardis and open the doors with a snap of his fingers."

Sparrow smiled a bit, "My old man in the blue box. Next stop, everywhere."

"Spoilers." The Doctor arrived, "Nobody can open a Tardis by snapping their fingers. It doesn't work like that."

The Time Lady raised an eyebrow, "It does for me." River smiled, "It does for the Doctor."

"I am the Doctor." He frowns.

"Yeah.. some day."

Autodestruct in two minutes.

The Doctor wakes up, handcuffed to a pipe on the wall. "No, no, no, come on. What are you two doing? That's my job."

River sat on the chair, getting hooked up to the computer terminal, with the help of Sparrow.

"And what? We're not allowed to have a career?" Sparrow helped strip and twist wires together.

"Why am I handcuffed? Why do you have handcuffs?" He asks, pulling on them.

River gives him a cheeky grin, "Spoilers."

"This is not a joke. Stop this now." The Doctor pleads, "This is going to kill you both! Sparrow, you won't be able to regenerate!"

Ignoring his cries, the Time Lady walked over to the computer and typed in some code.

"We're timing it for the end of the countdown. There'll be a blip in the command flow." Sparrow explains, "That way it should improve our chances for a clean download."

"Sparrow, River, please." He shakes his head, "No." He notices the two screwdrivers on top of the diary and tries to reach for them.

Autodestruct in one minute.

"You know what this means?" Sparrow glances at her dad, "This means you knew how we were going to die. All the time we've been together, you knew we were coming here."

"When we last saw you- the future you, I mean- you turned up in our doorstep, with a new haircut and suit." River's eyes began to tear up, "You took us to Darillium to see the Singing Towers. Oh, what a night that was. The Towers sang and you cried."

"You wouldn't say why, but I guess it's our time. Time to come to the Library." Sparrow places a circlet of wires on her head, then on River's. "You gave us your screwdriver. That should've been a clue."

Autodestruct in thirty seconds.

"There's still time. You can still let me do this." He begs one more time.

"If you die here, you'll never have met us." Sparrow checked the wiring one more time.

"Time can be rewritten."

"Don't you dare. Not those times, not one line. You'll see us again. It's not over for you, not for a long time. You and me, time and space." The blonde looks at him then at her wife. "You watch us fly away."
Sparrow smiled, her own eyes teary.

Autodestruct in ten… nine…

"River, you knew my name!" The Time Lord tried reaching for the diary again. If he could just touch it… "You whispered my name in my ear."

Eight… seven…

"There's only one reason I would ever tell anyone my name."

River grabbed the two power cables, getting ready to connect them. Sparrow joined by placing her hands above the blonde's.

Six… five…

"Oh, shut up, Dad." The Time Lady places her forehead against her wife's. "Spoilers."

At four and three, the Doctor managed to nudge the journal close enough for his screwdriver to roll closer. He quickly grabbed it, unlocked the cuffs, and ran up to Sparrow.

At two, he removes the circlet from his daughter as he grabs her by the waist to pull her back.

"No, no! NO!" Sparrow screams, fighting to be free. "NO!"

At one, River connects the power cables, causing a bright explosion, pushing the Time Lords away.
Once the light fades, the seat River Song occupied is empty.
