After an eternal slumber, finally, Their waiting was rewarded. A few pesky Tauri discovered Their sarcophagus and unleashed Their Glory and Might back into the Universe. They still wore the same garment as They had when They were put to sleep. Such an insult, to imprison them in the very device which gave them health, beauty and life everlasting. They were pleased to see and feel that Their body had preserved the same perfect form it had before their slumber began. They felt strong but weary from the long inactivity. They had to find Ra!

After a curious journey through a world that differed so much from the Tauri Homeworld, They once knew, They arrived at an armed and protected facility, built inside a mountain. "Cheyenne" the current inhabitants called it.

There They were handcuffed and brought to a small, dark and gloomy room with grey-brown colored walls and particularly uncomfortable-looking beds. The male Tau'ri who brought Them in said it was for "safety reasons", a "necessary precaution".

The Tau'ri seemed to have forgotten what it meant to be in the presence of a Goddess,

Three men entered the room soon after and asked irrelevant questions. One of them - Daniel Jackson, the smallest and most sensitive looking, They was able to enchant with Their pheromones. Not that they would not work on the two other men, but Daniel was the only one who got close enough. That had to change.

"You with the crown of marble!" They called out to one of the other males.

"She might mean you, Sir." the last one said. That one was particularly disobedient.

Under a promise of fertility and joy, They persuaded the hairless leader to approach and let Them kiss his hand.

Sam listened incredulously as General Hammond and Colonel O'Neill recounted to her their strange encounter with the detained "visitor". The Colonel, as always, managed to crack a joke even in this situation. She grinned at his mention of a TV channel that they both knew well.

"Is not the Question, how does she know of the Stargate?" Teal'c beside her asked. He was also hearing the story for the first time.

"Dr. Jackson is trying to figure that out now." Hammond replied, his tone giving away that there was no certainty about Daniel's success.

Precisely at that moment Daniel arrived, hurrying down the steps like his life was on the line. "I believe I have figured that out Sir," he cut into the conversation. "She knew a hell of a lot, either she's studied her Egyptian Mythology very carefully or.."

"Or what? Dr. Jackson." General Hammond asked.

"Or she's actually lived it." Daniel replied.

"Meaning?" The General inquired.

"She's a Goa'uld, Sir." Daniel announced loudly.

"What?" Sam spoke, her voice full of disbelief.

"How is she a Goa'uld?" O'Neill retorted.

"She could not have come through the Stargate, we would have been alerted." Teal'c pointed out.

"She's been imprisoned in stasis for almost two thousand years." Daniel explained.

The Colonel raised his eyebrows as far as they would physically go, and, his voice dripping of disbelief, asked rhetorically: "Is mental illness contagious?" he turned from the General to Daniel, as though waiting for them to break into a chuckle and stop with this weirdness.

Daniel ignored the Colonel's comment, and walked closer to the General. "General Hammond I think she is Hathor. Or at least the Goa'uld that took on the persona of Hathor." he looked intensely into Hammond's eyes.

Sam found Daniel's behaviour strange. "Back up did you say she's a Goa'uld?" she cut in, concerned.

"Yes, she feels indebted to us for killing Ra, who she was trying to stop from enslaving Earth." Daniel said, still looking into Hammond's eyes. "See, she's always been a friend of humanity."

Sam looked over at Teal'c who had 'disagreement' written all over his facial expression.

"That's how it was in the book of the dead. Hathor was a much loved Goddess." Daniel said, sounding like he was citing love poetry.

"You saying she wants to help us?" Hammond asked him, returning his intense gaze.

"Yes, she wants to help us defeat Apophis. And protect us from other evil Goa'ulds."

Sam had a sudden flashback to a documentary she once watched on the telly. It was about hypnosis and brainwashing. Something about Daniel's behaviour and voice reminded her of the people shown in that show.

"And you bought into all of this?" she asked, approaching Daniel. Hoping he would turn to her, but he continued staring into Hammond's eyes like he was trying to hypnotize him. Sam was getting more and more concerned.

"General I'd like to have permission to have Hathor come down here to de-brief us." said Daniel.

O'Neill interrupted liudly: "Whoa! Danny! I don't think so!"

"General" Daniel bridged the distance between him and the General , ignoring O'Neill. "I think you sense what I do." he said, looking intensely into the General's eyes. "Hathor is a friend." It was as though an unspoken sentence, some mysterious intimate spark passed between those two men, that only they knew of and fully undertand.

Sam watched with even more incredulance as the General replied: "Yes I do believe that." he said to Daniel Jackson. Then turning to an airmen in the doorway he commanded: "Bring her down."
