The smell of burning buildings filled the air. The horrid scent was present from miles away, warning all who dared to enter the ruins of the city. Toppled buildings were littered throughout, complimented by the shredded clothing of the fallen. It had been only four days since the planet had been invaded, and yet, the entire planet seemed to share the same fate as the fallen city. Most of the invaders already left the planet, leaving the mere handful of survivors to scavenge for whatever resources they could find. However, not all of them fled the planet. A group of five human-like entities sat in a crater, their bottoms planted on the scorched ground beneath. All of them shared a similar style of clothing: battle armor. Yet, each set was different from the previous, giving each member their own identity. Each one of them shared an unusual appendage: brown, fuzzy tails. One of the five members was unusually tall, nearing seven feet tall. The top of his head was completely bald, though the rest of his scalp was covered in short, black hair. His skin was less saturated compared to the others, almost grey. His battle armor was slightly burnt, though the colors popped out like his own height and hair. The straps of his battle armor were yellow, yet the rest retained varying shades of blue. He looked toward the rest of the group, finally breaking the silence.

"What could Frieza possibly have wanted with this planet? Even before we came here, it wasn't the most lively planet." He crossed his arms, his mind still curious about the mission they were assigned.

Another member of the group finally chimed in. "How are we supposed to know what's going through that mind of his, Borgos? He is unpredictable, and that's putting it lightly." The man responding was far larger around compared to the rest, yet his biceps and shoulders were well-defined. His hair was a similar shade of black but resembled that of a bowl cut. His distinguishing feature was a thin mustache along his outer lip, reaching his chin. His tone of voice was far harsher than Borgos', yet slightly higher in pitch. The larger man looked toward another man in the group, his lips curling into a smirk. "I, for one, enjoyed the hell out of beating those Kanassans. What about you, Tora?"

Tora, the youngest Saiyan in the group, shared a similar black shade of hair as the other Saiyan warriors. The shape of his set of hair resembled a mullet, complete with curly ends. His body resembled more of a bodybuilder in physique, equally bulky as he was muscular. His left bicep was surrounded by a white fabric, stretchy enough to be worn as a headband. His tail swayed, feeling zero need to wrap itself around his waist. He didn't share the same sinister expression as the heftier Saiyan, instead giving a more professional response. "They were unique, I'll give 'em that. Though, at this point, things are getting far too routine. We need a mission that can shake things up, you know?"

The single woman in the group chuckled ever so slightly. Her hair was a similar bowl cut to the heavier Saiyan, though a bit more wild in style. Her armor only covered her chest, leaving her stomach almost completely exposed. The lining of said armor was pink, unlike the usual grey or blue of the other Saiyans. She was eager to pitch into the conversation, "Aw, is Tora getting bored? Lighten up, will ya? Once we get to our next assignment, how about you loosen up and try to enjoy yourself?"

Tora held his tongue, though only for a brief moment. At first, he was contemplating whether or not he should respond. However, it was a matter which he needed to get off his chest. He continued, "I'm just saying that we need a change of pace. When was the last time we had to struggle? I get that you like having an advantage, Fasha, but that takes all the risk away. We need a raid like the one on Planet Cereal. The natives might not have been strong, but they had some insane abilities."

Fasha merely shrugged at this comment, finding no sense in arguing against it. Despite her affinity toward playing around with her prey, she had to admit, a hard-fought victory would be a good change of pace. She continued, addressing the final member of the crew, "Speaking of Planet Cereal, what's going on with you, Bardock? Ever since we took that planet over, you've been acting weird."

The final member finally made action. He slowly sat upward, finding his laying position far too uncomfortable to maintain. His armor was more advanced compared to the other members, complete with shoulder guards. His armor shared a perfect combination of black and yellow, bestowed upon some of the finest Saiyan warriors. His hair was quite long, yet shared a wild style. His bangs reached his eyebrows, and the spikes of his hair stuck out for inches. His forearms were covered with a blue sleeve, along with his shins. This was the leader of the crew: Bardock. He remained quiet, not finding much motivation to answer the question. Tora immediately recognized the expression on his face. Something about Bardock seemed reflective, yet not in a completely positive manner. He was eager to defend his leader.

"Does it matter that much? We completed the mission, didn't we?" Tora defended. Fasha rolled her eyes, expecting such a response from at least one of her comrades. She immediately responded, "I'm just saying, he's been pretty soft ever since that raid. He's been letting families go unharmed, just to name one occasion."

Bardock was slowly beginning to get ticked off. He was far from blowing his lid, yet he didn't appreciate such comments about his behavior. He was more than ready to answer the question, "What sense does it make to attack those who can't properly defend themselves? They already lost their planet, that's more than enough." Borgos couldn't help but smile at such a remark. It wasn't in a sassy or testing way, but rather out of understanding. Sure, as a traditional Saiyan warrior, Borgos believed that he wouldn't have made the same decision. However, he still respected such a move. "Probably just because Gine softened him up a bit. He has a family of his own, after all." Bardock stayed silent, soon reflecting upon that fateful day on Planet Cereal.

~~~~~~~~~~Six Months Ago~~~~~~~~~~
The violent screams of countless Cerulean victims echoed throughout the city. Smoke from rampant Saiyan blasts tainted the lungs of those who dared breathe it in. Several massive, ape-like creatures stormed through the city, stomping down upon the streets and any natives unfortunate enough to be caught fleeing. These ape-like creatures all shared a similar attire: Saiyan armor. The shine of the full moon provided at least some light for the escapees, though the blinding lights of the countless blasts and beams overwhelmed it. There was at least some sort of resistance, luckily. A turquoise-haired man held out his fingers, resembling a gun. Endlessly, he raised down bullets of ki upon the rampaging apes from a building above, trying to slow them down. However, these attempts were all for naught. The man gritted his teeth together, his left red eye and right blue eye staring down at the conflict below. "Damn it! These monsters are just eating up our blasts! There has to be some way to take them out!" Another resistance member gazed up at the full moon. A glimmer of hope came across his face, signaling some sort of idea.
"Quick! Shoot at the moon! If they used it to transform, then it should reverse it!" The resistance member screamed. Wasting zero time, the turquoise-haired man aimed his fingers at the moon, shooting a small blast of ki at it. Within mere seconds, the moon above exploded. A meteor shower of comets rained down upon the fallen city, even colliding with a few Saiyans. The sniper's heart was ready to beat out of his chest, desperately clinging to hope. The tables soon seemed to turn in the resistance's favor. As the comets began to rain down, the rampaging apes began to shrink. All of them were left in a temporary stoic state, unable to defend themselves as the entire force reverted to their human-like forms. The sniper's lips curled into a smile; not all hope was lost.
"T-They turned back to normal, we can still win this!" He exclaimed with glee. The sniper turned back to his comrade, ready to plot the next course of attack. However, that expression of hope soon faded, overtaken by a look of sheer terror. His fellow resistance member stood in place, his entire body convulsing. The comrade's head slowly lowered, catching a quick glimpse of the scorched hole in his chest. As soon as he discovered his injury, his legs gave out, tripping him over the edge of the building. The turquoise-haired man watched on, unable to divert his eyes as his ally fell to the ground. He had no time to mourn, however. He soon felt a crushing grasp around his neck, ready to break it. When he turned his head, he was met with the sinister gaze of a Saiyan. The Saiyan chuckled, tightening his grip around the Cerulean's throat.
"You may have gotten rid of the moon, but we don't need it to take out you lot." The Saiyan announced, "Don't worry, you'll be meeting your friend again very soon." With that, the Saiyan tightened his hand, crushing the Cerulean's neck. He then tossed the limp body over the building, letting the fallen hero descend to his ally.
The raid continued for what seemed like an eternity to the resistance, but was, in reality, mere hours. Upon the final hour, countless Cerulean bodies were left across the battlefield, all limp, lifeless. Two ships slowly descended upon the battleground, landing in open spaces. As soon as the hatches opened, many warriors began to walk into the ships. However, a few stayed behind to snuff out any survivors.
Only a few were lucky enough to survive. Within one of the destroyed buildings, a young Cerulean mother held her child. Both of them shared the same left red eye as the sniper, along with the turquoise hair. Her hand gently caressed the back of his head, attempting to comfort the child. Despite her best efforts, she could barely hold in her gentle sobs, not bothering to prevent her tears from dripping along her cheeks. The child looked up at his mother, sharing the same teary-eyed state.
"M-Momma? Is Pa gonna be alright?" He asked in a choked-up tone. The mother continued to caress his hair, letting her fingers slide through his silky hair. "I'm sure he'll be back, sweetie. Just keep your voice down, okay?" Her voice was quiet, yet her tone said everything the child needed to know. He may have been young, but his mother's mannerisms told the entire story. He held his mother tightly, clinging to any comfort he could find.
"Who said that?" A voice called out. Immediately, the mother pointed out her fingers, beginning to charge a ki blast at her fingertips. She waited silently, waiting for any horrid Saiyan to waltz into the fallen building. Soon enough, a man soon walked inside. His black and yellow armor did little to hide him from the dark environment. His spiky, black hair was only one of the many giveaways that he was a Saiyan. He stared at the young mother, surveying the situation. Readying himself to finish the job, he raised his arm, beginning to charge an orb of ki in his hand. Its blue light was only a reminder of impending doom for the Cerulean mother. She lowered her hand, realizing that she wouldn't be able to overpower him. She held onto the young child, bracing for impact. However, the Saiyan seemed to hesitate once he laid eyes on the child. Though his arm remained in place, he struggled to bring an end to the encounter. The Saiyan stared at the mother and son, contemplating his next course of action. Eventually, he heard a voice call out to him.
"Hey, Bardock! Found some survivors?" Fasha yelled out from a distance. Upon hearing the feminine voice, Bardock fired the blast. The mother and child could feel the heat of the blast heading toward them. The Cerulean mother covered her child's eyes, soon closing her own. "I... I love you, Grahnola." Her body tensed up, accepting her impending fate. The harsh sound of the blast connecting with the ground pierced their ears, and the sound of rubble flying terrified them to no end. However, it never came. The mother opened her eyes, unable to see through the enormous cloud of dust.
"Yeah... you guys go on ahead while I look for more. I'll catch up with you all in the pod." He announced to Fasha. Fasha shrugged, brushing it off as Bardock wanting more of the glory. She walked away, joining the rest of the Saiyans on the ship. Once the final warriors stepped foot on the ships, the vehicles flew off, quickly leaving the planet. It took a few minutes for the dust to settle. Once the cloud dissipated, the mother was left stunned beyond belief. She uncovered her child's eyes, soaked from the dripping tears. Bardock stared at them, soon lowering his hand. It was now obvious; he couldn't bring himself to kill the broken family. His expression held a bit of uncertainty to it, yet his spirit seemed content. He approached the mother and child, still not daring to break the silence just yet. Bending down to one knee, he examined the numerous cuts and bruises on the mother and child.
"Damn... if they found out about this, there's no telling what would happen." Bardock noted to himself. He slowly grabbed the mother's arm, wrapping it around his shoulder. The child held onto for dear life, still feeling zero ease from the unusual events. The Saiyan continued, "Come on... I should have something to close up those wounds at my pod." With that, Bardock and the mother walked away, both conflicted, both second guessing the events. Even then, Bardock found an odd comfort, one he would hold onto for months to come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Present Day~~~~~~~~~~~

Bardock soon broke free of his trance. He left the comment unattended. Instead, he decided to entertain an earlier question. He turned his head to Borgos, soon answering the potential objective, "From what I've heard, there are some strange energies on this planet. If someone lives here long enough, then apparently, they can develop the ability to read minds." A moment of silence was shared between the group. The heavier Saiyan was not hesitant to give his opinion on the matter, "Read minds? The thought of Frieza gaining that is terrifying."

However, the formalities were soon broken by the sound of rubble exploding nearby. All five members of the group quickly jumped onto their feet, ready to combat whatever threat may have presented itself. However, they were met with the sight of a battered, beaten-down warrior. The newcomer was humanoid, but that was the only similar trait he shared with the Saiyans. His skin sported a scaly pattern, reflecting the rays of the sun above. The shine of the burning light blended well with his teal-ish scales. His lips resembled that of a fish, or at least some sort of water-based creature. His clothing was torn, revealing countless scars and open wounds. He announced, "I wish you five could bear our gift, just so you could feel the pain you've caused our people!"

The heavier Saiyan let out a harsh laugh at the comment. He began to approach the Kanassan, yet he was soon stopped. He looked down toward his chest, greeted with the sight of Bardock's hand. This unusual motion confused him to no end, and his mind began to question the leader. Bardock soon stepped forward, approaching the Kanassan. "Look, the last thing you want is to fight us. You're broken, knocking on death's door. Do yourself a favor and don't end it like this."

The Kanassan gritted his teeth together. He didn't care if the Saiyan's offer would save his life, he needed the satisfaction of revenge. He screamed at the top of his lungs, charging in to attack the leader. However, he soon vanished from sight. Bardock and his crew searched around frantically, trying to find the hostile native. However, they would soon find themselves on the defensive. Out of nowhere, the Kanassan reappeared, striking the back of Bardock's neck with a chop. The cracking of vertebrae filled the ears of the group, rewarded by the pained shouts of the Saiyan Leader. He fell to the ground, a numbing sensation overwhelming his lower body. For a few seconds, he couldn't move, leaving him open to whatever attack the Kanassan desired to inflict. Fortunately, Tora was quick to defend his leader, firing a blue wave of ki toward the attacker. The Kanassan screamed as the blast connected, sending him crashing against the walls of the crater. Tora lowered his arm, his palm still emanating a black smoke from the blast. He reached down to Bardock, putting the leader's arm around his shoulder. However, Bardock no longer needed the support. He lightly pushed Tora away, dusting his armor off. When the dust of the blast settled, an overwhelming light tainted the group's eyes. All five Saiyans shielded their eyes, trying to protect their sight.

"Gah! What the hell is going on?!" The heavier Saiyan exclaimed. The group continued to shield their eyes, attempting to endure the onslaught on their vision. Bardock eventually managed to muster the courage to open his eyes. It was difficult to see, even with the bright environment around him. However, he was barely able to make out an odd figure. The Kanassan stood before them, however, was engulfed with a white surge of energy, almost ghostly in appearance. Bardock gazed upon the unusual form, still trying to wrap his head around the situation.

"I have altered your energy into a more tolerable form. You may have been able to slaughter my people, but they live on through me. With the energy you have gifted me, I shall avenge my brothers and sisters!" The Kanassan exclaimed. He charged toward the group, ready for combat. However, with a single kick to the liver, Bardock was able to send the ghastly Kanassan flying into a nearby boulder. The echoed groans of the Kanassan screamed out, yet no sort of rescue would come. He twitched against the wall of the crater, barely clinging onto consciousness. Bardock began to approach the Kanassan, maintaining his usual hard expression.

"I already warned you, and yet you don't listen. You only have yourself to blame for this." Bardock raised his hand, holding it mere feet away from the injured Kanassan. A blue orb of energy began to manifest in his palm, ready to fire at any given moment. However, the Kanassan had one more trick up his sleeve, one more chance to torment this individual Saiyan. Subtly, he pointed only one of his fingers out, firing an odd beam at the leader. It made contact with Bardock's head, yet left no trace. Bardock chuckled slightly, his lips curling into a smirk.

"What? Was that your last attempt to take my life?" Bardock asked. The Kanassan returned the smirk, one of sheer twisted pleasure. The expression rubbed Bardock the wrong way. Something about this display seemed off, even frightening. Yet, the Saiyan Leader maintained his poker face. He was about to fire the blast, but the Kanassan interrupted him.

"Oh no, far from it... Bardock. Consider it a gift" The Kanassan gave a weak chuckle, still barely clinging on to life. Bardock lowered his hand slightly, more confused than ever.

"How do... wait, the stories. You really can read minds, can't you?" Bardock asked. This mission was only getting more and more absurd with each passing second, at least for the leader. He got down to one knee, staring into the Kanassan's eyes with a stoic, spine-chilling stare. "What was that blast? Tell me, before I turn you into dust." Bardock threatened.

"Like I said, it's a gift. We Kanassans are able to read minds, but are also able to see briefly into the future. You now bear this gift as well, Bardock." The Kanassan coughed heavily, his lungs aching with pain with every harsh outburst. However, he wouldn't let his monolog go unfinished. He continued, "No... consider it a burden. Now, you must bear the terror of your race's demise, just like us Kanassans. You will see it first-hand, mere days, even hours before those events unravel. You will know the same pain we felt. Your wife, your sons, your entire species... they will all fall in the end." The Kanassan let out a wicked smile, one that rocked Bardock to his core.

Bardock, though shook, wouldn't let such words go unpunished. He grabbed the ghostly Kanassan by the throat, lifting him off the ground. "You're delusional. These threats you're spouting out, they're anything but the truth. Frieza would never be rid of his best soldiers. Most importantly though... you brought them into this. One day, once I see you in Hell, your real punishment will come. For now, consider this a temporary peace." Bardock lunged his arm forward, piercing through the Kanassan's chest. The ghastly creature couldn't even let out a scream. Within seconds, his body went limp, officially closing the book on the Kanassans' history.

Bardock withdrew his hand, pulling it out of the fallen Kanassan. He wiped the blood on his tights, leaving behind dark streaks of crimson. "That's the last one. Let's head out." He walked to his group, with the five soon entering their individual space pods. The vehicles soon left the planet, leaving the carnage of the planet as proof of their success.

Within a minute, the group was already traveling through space. Fasha, from within her pod, gazed upon the stoic stars and planets. Such a sight never got old for her. It brought a sense of calm to her frantic, chaotic life of combat and war. She pressed on a button within the pod, opening a communication link between the five Saiyans.

"Hah! Not even the elites would take that job! Looks like we're gonna be praised good tonight!" She exclaimed. Tora laughed slightly, almost in agreement. He was more than eager to respond, "You're damn right. Hey Bardock, are we gonna see you at the tavern tonight? After all that nonsense that Kanassan was spouting out, surely you wanna flush it out with something good."

Bardock didn't respond for a few moments. He was still processing the words of the final Kanassan. The haunting words lingered in his mind, almost in a puzzling fashion. He soon asked, "Was anyone else listening to that guy? The guy must have been delusional... but something about that just rubbed me the wrong way." Borgos, from, within his own pod, pondered upon the subject. Admittedly, he could feel goosebumps just from thinking about that encounter. He soon answered, his voice ringing over the speakers of the other four pods. "Yeah, it was odd, but we know a few nutjobs ourselves. Need I remind you of that Paragus fellow?"

Tora laughed even more, recalling his memories of the previously mentioned Paragus. He didn't hesitate to plead his case. "Oh yeah, that guy was crazy. What happened to him anyway? Didn't his kid get sent away or something? I haven't seen him since that day." Bardock quickly took note of the mention. He remembered Paragus very vividly, having been on previous missions with the Saiyan. He crossed his arms, leaning into his seat. "Yeah, his boy was sent to some inhospitable planet or something. From what I've heard, he was born even stronger than most elite Saiyans."

Fasha was quickly floored by this news. She did remember Paragus, but she had only seen him a few instances. Out of shock, she quickly asked, "Wait, what? How is that even possible? Don't most elite Saiyans have a power level around twelve-thousand?" Tora was a bit humored by Fasha's shock. Before he could respond, another voice presented itself over the intercoms. It was harsh in tone, yet oddly high-pitched. With a formal tone, it announced, "Attention; an executive order from Lord Frieza! All Saiyans must return to Planet Vegeta, effective immediately! I repeat, all Saiyans must return to Planet Vegeta immediately!" With the brief message, the voice then went away.

"What the?" Bardock was beyond confused by the order. He kept to himself briefly, trying to come up with some sort of reason to the order. However, his thoughts were constantly interrupted by the conversations of his crew. Tora was the first to interrupt. "Huh, that's odd. Why would Frieza want all of the Saiyans to meet up? There's no way it's some kind of mission." Fasha quickly got her hopes up. She soon exclaimed with excitement, "Maybe he's giving us some new scouters? It's about damn time, we've been without those for a good few missions by now."

Bardock pressed a large button on his pod, ending his line with the communication. In silence, he reflected upon the order. Something about Frieza's command rubbed him the wrong way. It was odd, almost unreasonable. If it was some sort of supply drop, the items would have merely been dropped off by a group of soldiers. Tora was right as well; there was no chance it was some big mission. There was zero possibility their ruler would send an entire race on a singular mission, it was out of the question. Bardock soon began to reflect upon the Kanassan's words. There was a mention of the extermination of the Saiyan race, a mention which boggled his mind. Yet, the Kanassans were able to see the invasion through their visions.

"All of the Saiyans... in one place. What the hell are you planning, Frieza?" Bardock asked, but to no answer. He decided to brush the thought away, at least for the time being. He let out a quiet, tired yawn, slightly exhausted from the mission. It became difficult to keep his eyes open. With each passing second, his eyes began to close slightly. Once his eyes were shut, Bardock drifted off into slumber. Unfortunately, it was far from a pleasant one.

The orange skies of Planet Vegeta hung over the entire Saiyan population, complimented by the roaming, white clouds. Countless Saiyans roamed around the planet, all serving under a common ruler: Frieza. Each Saiyan warrior and individual was in attendance, with their conversations ringing throughout the city. The horde of voices made it difficult to think, due to the sheer volume. However, these conversations were soon interrupted. A fleet of ovular ships began to approach the planet, approaching the atmosphere at wild speeds. Yet, they all seemed to stop in an instant, with seemingly zero resistance. The doors of the ships soon opened, unleashing hordes of soldiers. Each one wore similar armor to the Saiyans, yet their humanoid-appearance varied between soldiers. A loud cry could be heard as the countless soldiers approached the Saiyans in attendance, flying at incredible speeds. The symphonic battle cry was soon followed by the horrid chorus of pained screams. One after the other, the Saiyans began to fall, whether they be disintegrated by energy blast or be decapitated by hand. The Saiyans were falling victim to the army, and very quickly. Yet, groups of Saiyans were holding their own, even overpowering the invading soldiers. While things certainly seemed to turn into their favor, it was all downhill from there.

The hatch on top of the largest ship slowly opened. A small, humanoid figure emerged from the opening, staring down at the carnage. Yet, his crimson lips curled into a smirk. A horrid, high pitched laugh rang from those lips, stating his approval of the battle. "Oh, how splendid! These monkeys are trying to fight back! Fight on, Saiyans! Fight on!" The newcomer announced. This was undoubtedly the leader of the invading forces. He watched on, surveying the carnage below. The shining light of the ki blasts below seemed to reflect off the purple, orb-like growth on his head. His horns were razor-sharp, as if a simple touch would pierce through flesh. His armor held not a single speck of dirt, blood, or grime, far more cleansed than the soldiers below. The purple scouter cogering his left eye seemed far more advanced than the lowly solders and Saiyans. As he continued to watch the battle, his lips slowly clenched into a confused frown. "Hmm? Oh? One of those monkeys seems to have slipped through our forces."

Bardock rushed toward the fleet of ships, his flight piercing through the skies at unprecedented speeds. Though hordes of soldiers attempted to hold him off, he managed to fight them off. With mere kicks and lunging-strikes, Bardock was single-handedly tearing through the enemy soldiers. However, he soon stopped dead in his tracks. He gazed upon the fleet of ships, focusing solely on the army's leader. With a scowl on his face, Bardock roared out, "Frieza! Why the hell are you attacking us?!"

Frieza's arrogant smirk soon returned. A mischievous, outright sinful cackle escaped his lips. He seemed to not take Bardock's skills against the soldiers seriously in the slightest. Frieza responded, "Now, isn't this a surprise? A lowly Saiyan ape managed to sneak his way up to my fleet? My my, you really must want to be the first to die, don't you?"

Bardock completely ignored these taunts. He clenched his hands into fists, his nails nearly piercing into his skin. He screamed out, "We Saiyans have been nothing but loyal to you, Frieza. Why? Why would you get rid of us, when we have already conquered planet after planet in your name, in the name of Emperor Frieza?!" A blue ki began to surround Bardock's hand. His cold glare continued, his mind still trying to wrap itself around the seemingly pointless invasion.

Frieza easily spotted the intensifying ki surrounding Bardock's hand. The Emperor was quick to react, immediately stretching out a single finger. A blinding purple beam emerged from his finger, piercing through Bardock's shoulder. Bardock screamed out in pain, as if he could feel something burning away straight through his shoulder. The blue ki surrounding his hand faded away. Quickly, Bardock reached for his injured arm, still victim to the burning sensation. He couldn't move his injured arm in the slightest, he couldn't even feel his own fingers. Not even the terrifying drainage of the wound's blood was able to spark his nerves.

Frieza's smirk soon returned, finding satisfaction in the display. He elaborated, "Even a mere beam to the shoulder would be enough to kill other Saiyans, no matter how much power I purposely held back. It would tear beyond the arm, disintegrating every last part of their body. At least, that's how it used to be. You Saiyans have been growing at astronomical rates, far more than any legion under my command. It was only a matter of time until that acclaimed Super Saiyan of legend finally emerged. I am well aware of how deep your race's hatred towards me runs, especially your king's. Your betrayal was not a matter of if, only when."

Bardock could barely comprehend the words coming out of the emperor's mouth. The Saiyan's pained expression slowly turned into a carnal grin. He let out a harsh chuckle, almost out of denial. He replied, "So what? You're killing us off because of some stupid legend? Heh, you must be real scared of us for something as stupid as this." He lowered his free arm, revealing the bloodied wound on his left arm. The blue ki soon returned, this time surrounding his right hand. He continued, "If you're that scared of our power, then maybe you're not that high-and-mighty ruler we thought you were. Maybe... just maybe... we can put an end to your reign, once and for all."

Frieza ignored the threats. He raised a single finger into the air. Almost immediately, an enormous surge of orange, firey light took shape. The ball of unfathomable power grew astronomically, blocking out the nearby moon. He said, "Oh dear, it seems that fear has made you outright delusional. Perhaps I gave your race too much credit? Or maybe my fear would become reality a century from now? Either way, it's better to be safe than sorry. Goodbye... Saiyans." With a flick of his wrist, Frieza launched the orb down to Planet Vegeta. Countless Frieza Soldiers were caught in its path, disintegrated upon impact. The Supernova's heat could be felt for miles, even in the frigid terrors of space.

Bardock watched as the Supernova quickly approached. He continued to pump his energy into the ki surrounding his hand. The ki soon manifested into a blue light, engulfing his entire hand. Without another word, he let out a viscious war cry. He hurled the blue energy toward the approaching Supernova, desperately praying for his success. However, his attack was disintegrated upon a mere touch. Bardock's smirk slowly turned into a horrified, open-mouthed state. Before he could let out a single noise, before he could feel the Supernova's scorching cleanse, everything faded away.

~~~~~~~~Twelve Hours Later~~~~~~~~
Bardock slowly opened his eyes, struggling to catch a glimpse of the outside world. He swore he could still feel his burning shoulder. However, that pain soon faded away. It was only a dream, at least from what he could tell. As his vision slowly began to return, he immediately studied his surroundings. Metal sheets seemed to surround him, with a single window allowing a glimpse into the outside world. He could feel an odd, somewhat thick liquid slowly releasing his naked body. His mouth and jaw were held in place by an oxygen mask. Once the liquid had finally drained, the door to his confines began to open. Bardock took off the mask, tossing it aside. He huffed and puffed, still paranoid from his nightmare. He quickly walked out of his pod, finally catching a glimpse of the outside world.
Bardock found himself in a small, white room. Two other Saiyans stood nearby, watching him emerge from the capsule. Each of them wore a white coat, though they were different genders. Whatever the case, the two seemed to be doctors. The female Saiyan blushed heavily upon seeing Bardock walk out, quickly looking away. Her embarrassment was written across her entire face, as if she didn't know whether to look away or keep gazing. The male wore an outright exact look on his face, though he didn't completely turn around. He shielded his eyes, soon letting out an awkward chuckle. The male doctor said sheepishly, "Glad to see that you're awake, B-Bardock. But, please, put on some clothes for Kai's sake!"
Bardock ignored the two doctors, reaching toward a nearby table. A newly washed set of clothes were laid out for him, along with his signature armor. He said, "Yeah yeah, whatever. How long was I out for?"
The male doctor seemed hesitant to say anything, as did the female. Though, she soon spoke up, still feeling an intensifying warmth come across her entire body, "You've been out for approximately twelve hours. When you got here, you didn't seem all too hurt. Yet, you were completely unconscious. Something like that shouldn't have happened. I mean, you're completely healthy." She continued to look away, as did her colleague. Yet, both of them seemed tempted, for whatever reason.
Soon, Bardock had fully clothed himself. He adjusted his black and yellow armor, quickly fitting back into his usual attire. He turned toward the doctors and answered, "I've been gone for months on that weird-ass planet. As far as I know, I was just tired." Bardock soon noticed the embarrassed look on the doctors faces. He rolled his eyes, finding this response to be mildly annoying. The Saiyan warrior began to approach the exit, departing with a wave. "See you around, creeps."
Bardock roamed about the halls of the hospital. Each turn and stairwell felt all too familiar, due to his rather risky approach during missions. Though many Saiyan warriors and doctors greeted him, Bardock never went out of his way to respond. His mind was still set on the ominous vision he was forced to witness. The horrid cackling of Frieza rang in his ears, in a matter so unusual that it felt like the tyrant was directly behind him. Occasionally, Bardock glanced behind him, just to ensure his own safety. Finally, after seven separate flights of stairs, he had finally reached the exit. Before he could leave, a receptionist called to him, "Ah, Bardock! I think you'll want to hear this." The receptionist didn't seem to be a Saiyan, not in the slightest. He seemed to be more akin to the countless other soldiers in Frieza's army. Even with his unique cyan scales and purple blemishes, he didn't stand out amongst the rest.
Bardock let out an irritated groan. The last thing he wanted was to be interrupted. After being away for so long, the only thing he wanted to do was go home. However, he had to admit, he did want to hear what the reptilian-like receptionist had to say. He approached the receptionist, crossing his arms. Bardock asked, "What? I've got places to be, you know?" The receptionist gulped a little bit. Though he wouldn't verbally admit it, he was outright terrified of Bardock. The receptionist looked at his computer, reading a report published by the two doctors. He said, "Well, it seems like you've gotten way stronger since your last visit. It's only been a year, but your power level has tripled. Heh, quite the jump to 30,000, wouldn't you say?"
Bardock was a bit annoyed at this sudden interruption. Though, it was nice to know his power was able to grow in such quick fashion. Without another word, he walked out of the hospital. Bardock took a look around, watching as other Saiyan soldiers went about their daily lives. The buildings didn't seem very advanced, at least compared to the countless planets and civilizations he had conquered. Yet, he wouldn't change anything about it. However, something seemed off: there were far too many Saiyans. Usually, the city wasn't filled with too many people, despite a large majority of their species living there. For some reason, the streets were flooded with Saiyan men and women. Bardock was becoming far more suspicious with each passing second. He said to himself, "Everyone's here, it looks like." He then looked toward the sky, hoping that it didn't resemble that of his premonition. Unfortunately, what seemed to be a dream was far too similar to his current reality. Though the entire fleet wasn't present, a few Frieza Force ships hung above the planet's atmosphere. A feeling of impending doom began to brew within Bardock. He gritted his teeth together, falling victim to his suspicions. With a slightly shaky voice, he continued, "It's really going to happen... damn it, that Kanassan was right! I need to get back home!" Without hesitation, Bardock took off, flying high above the city.
It took a mere minute for Bardock to reach his home. He landed on the ground, standing in front of a small village. This was where he and most of his crew lived. Outside of them, there weren't too many residents. Bardock looked around, noticing that most of the homes seemed absent. Something felt off about the whole situation, and he didn't enjoy it a single bit. Nevertheless, he walked toward the village. The silence of the small town practically screamed at his growing paranoia. He constantly looked around, wondering where the other Saiyans were. Finally, his thoughts were interrupted by a voice of hope.
"Bardock!" A feminine voice called out. A Saiyan woman ran toward Bardock, wasting zero time with each step she took. The majority of her armor sported a blue tint to it, with yellow plating along the connecting straps. Her wrists were concealed by pink bands. Her armor was far less efficient compared to the traditional Saiyan warriors. However, that merely fit her occupation. Her tail swayed behind her, as if her joyful smile wasn't enough to reflect her excitement. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around Bardock, pulling him tight for a hug. In an almost uncharacteristic fashion, Bardock couldn't help but smile softly. He wrapped his arms around the Saiyan woman as their tails coiled around one another's waists. The woman finally broke the silence, "It's about time you got back from the healing chamber. I was starting to get worried sick."
Bardock chuckled softly at the woman's concern. He released the hug, yet he kept his tail wrapped around her waist. For a brief moment, the premonitions were forced to the back of his mind. Right now, all that mattered was that he was home. He said, "It's good to be home, Gine. Speaking of returns and all, where is everyone? There's not a lot of people in their homes, it looks like." Gine turned away gently, holding onto Bardock's arm. Her footsteps against the ground were outright inaudible, as if every motion she made held a sincere grace and gentleness to it. She answered, "Well, now that nearly all of the Saiyans are home, a lot of them went to the city to meet up and drink."
Bardock breathed a heavy sigh of relief. His sudden force of breath brushed against Gine's smooth, black hair. She was rather quick to notice this, almost immediate. She turned toward him, her face holding a sign of concern. She asked, "What's wrong, Bardock?" Bardock, though his tension was somewhat eased, couldn't help but think about what the Kanassan cursed him with. The premonition burned itself into his mind, playing endlessly on loop. However, he couldn't possibly tell Gine what was wrong, at least not yet. Bardock assured her, "Ah, don't worry about it. Anyway, where's Kakarot at?" Gine's smile soon returned, though a glimmer of worry toward Bardock still lingered in her mind. She approached their house, putting one hand on the beige cloth they used as a door. "He's in his nursing chamber at the moment. It's just about time for him to come out, actually." She answered.
Gine opened the makeshift door, revealing a small butchershop. Dozens of skinned animals sat on the hooks hanging from the ceiling, with the four tables and countertops in the room free from any grime. Despite being a low class family, Bardock and Gine were able to make great use of the living quarters they were given. It didn't matter that they weren't given much to work with. With Gine's wit and Bardock's connections, they were able to keep themselves afloat by selling the highest quality meat they possibly could. They walked toward the back of the room, approaching an open walkway. Bardock looked around, as if he was trying to find someone. He turned toward Gine, raising an eyebrow. He asked, "Where's Raditz at? He isn't really the type of kid to go out an socialize."
Gine, with a smile on her face, turned toward Bardock. Her expression beamed as brightly as ever. Though, a hint of pride could be detected behind her soft, gentle grin. She answered, "He's still on a mission with Prince Vegeta and his group. I doubt that they'll be back in time." Bardock's eyes immediately widened at the news. He chuckled lightly, all while a prideful smile curved along his lips. He responded, "Wow... to think that he'd be put in that kind of mission. That kid's gonna be something special."
Bardock and Gine walked through the doorway, greeted by a small living quarters. Their home seemed as small as the butchershop, leaving almost zero room for luxuries or anything of the sort. A kitchen sat in the far-right corner of the home. The coil oven seemed brand new, despite having been over a decade old. The sink and countertop shared the same sense of cleanliness, no doubt thanks to Gine's efforts. In the left corner of the room laid a small, thin mattress and springboard. Several tears could be seen, though none were exposed due to stitching. However, the most unique piece of work sat directly next to the bed. A large tank-like capsule sat stoically, filled with a thick yellow liquid. Two tubes rested inside the capsule, all leading to a small, young figure. The figure's skin was near identical to Gine's, as well as his signature Saiyan tail. His hair was long and spiky, as if Bardock was looking at his own hair through a mirror. This was the couple's youngest son: Kakarot.
Bardock and Gine approached the capsule, smiling proudly at Kakarot. Bardock looked over at a nearby table, noticing a green scouter. A crack could be seen on the lens, likely due to damage during a battle. He grabbed the scouter, peering through the lens with his left eye. Everything through the lens was green in color, even disorienting the yellow liquid. A scramble of numbers began to appear at the top of the scouter's lens, attempting to calculate something. What started as a five digit number quickly began to decrease, hitting the single digit mark within seconds. Finally, the scramble of numbers settled upon a single calculation: two. Bardock seemed unfazed by the calculation, soon saying, "A power level of two huh? Well, it's not like he won't get any stronger. He'll toughen up a bit, no doubt." Bardock took off his scouter, placing it on the table.
Despite his lack of disappointment, Bardock's expression slowly faded away. His fist clenched slightly as the vision soon returned to him. The scene of Planet Vegeta's destruction played like an endless loop in his head. Over and over, he could feel the burning sensation of the Supernova itching at his skin. His smile soon faded away, taking a more stoic, serious appearance. Gine was quick to pick up on this. Her concern bubbled to the surface yet again as she looked at Bardock. Something was on his mind, she was sure of it. Breaking the silence, she asked, "Is something wrong, Bardock?"
Bardock stayed silent, contemplating his next course of action. He was well convinced of Planet Vegeta's inevitable destruction. Though his oldest son was off planet, he had no doubt that Raditz was smart enough to survive. It didn't matter that Raditz was a low class warrior, Bardock was certain of his son's wits and ingenuity. Kakarot, however, was a different story entirely. Bardock, with a deep sigh, soon elaborated, "I'm going to send Kakarot away from the planet... tonight." Gine was shaken to the core, outright floored by the sudden decision. Quickly, her expression soured. She grabbed Bardock's forearm, frantically giving him a single wild nudge. "Are you crazy? He's not even trained yet! He'll die on his own! What is wrong with you?!"
Bardock didn't look away from Kakarot, not for a split second. He knew the potential risks of sending his youngest son out on his own, but Bardock couldn't just sit by and let Kakarot die alongside the rest of the Saiyans. Even if the visions were mere paranoia, Bardock was certain it was a better course of action than letting the Saiyan empire take charge of the situation. Bardock explained, "If we wait any longer, then they'll send him away anyways, probably somewhere horrible. At least we'll be able to send him somewhere he can survive." Gine wasn't convinced in the slightest. She still had hope that Kakarot would remain on the planet, despite his incredibly low power level for an infant. She retorted, "But sending him out when he's this young? That's just not right, Bardock! It's like you said, he'll get stronger, I'm sure of it! He just needs some time."
Bardock looked over at Gine, watching the tears build up in her eyes. He wanted to hold off on sharing the details of his vision, however, he couldn't justify his actions through a contradictory argument. He looked down at the ground, his mind still plagued by the haunting premonitions. He reached for his shoulder, swearing that he could feel the burning agony that was Frieza's attack. "I don't think that we have much of a choice." Bardock said. Gine let go of Bardock's arm, outright confused. She stepped back a bit, quivering ever so slightly. She dreaded what her husband would possibly say next, yet she still asked, "W-What do you mean?" Bardock continued to stare at the ground. The internal conflict and paranoia was evident through his eyes. He glanced at Kakarot one final time. Bardock reached for the capsule, gently putting his palm against the glass. The warmth of the pod did nothing to soothe him. Finally, Bardock cut to the point, "Frieza called all Saiyans to the planet. He and his forces always had it out for our race, for some reason. I get the feeling that death is coming for us, Gine... and we need to make sure that Kakarot avoids it."
Gine went silent. The creeping possibility that Bardock was correct was beginning to build up inside of her. She slowly walked to their bed, sitting down on it. An exhausted, shaky sigh escaped her gentle lips. Her hands shook slightly, all while her mind was soon overwhelmed with fear. She finally asked, "Why would he kill us off? Y-You're not making any sense." Bardock couldn't keep his mission on Planet Kanassa hidden any longer. Sure, she likely knew of the planet, but Bardock kept the premonitions to himself. It seemed as if there was no possibility that he could convince Gine without mentioning it.
Bardock walked toward his wife, sitting down on the bed next to her. He wrapped one arm around her, gently cupping her shoulder as he pulled her close. After sharing a moment of silence, Bardock finally explained, "I... don't know why myself, but I've seen it. On Planet Kanassa, we expected to just wipe out the entire planet easily. But... somehow, they knew we were coming. There were legends of magical properties on that planet, ones that gave their warriors the ability to see the future. When we killed off the last Kanassan, he did something to me. It seemed like nothing at first... but when I fell asleep on the pod, I saw something. I saw Frieza launching some kind of attack, destroying our planet. It's hard to believe... but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense."
Gine didn't argue any longer. She leaned her head against Bardock's shoulder, hoping that his presence would soothe her. Yet, the daunting possibility of their planet's destruction haunted her mind. She didn't entirely believe that it would come to fruition, yet there was an underlying suspicion toward the galactic tyrant. She didn't want to take any chances. "Tonight... when everyone in town is asleep, we'll take Kakarot. I'll snatch us a transportation pod." She said. Gine slowly stood up, walking toward Kakarot's capsule. She peered inside, watching the innocent young Saiyan float inside the yellow liquid admist his slumber. She put her hand against the glass. "Please... tell me this is all a nightmare." She muttered.
Bardock walked up to his wife, wrapping one arm around her. He gently rubbed her back, trying to soothe her admist the troubling news. However, due to their troubled minds, they couldn't hear the scouter letting out a soft beeping noise.
~~~~~~~~~Eight Hours Later~~~~~~~~~

The night sky hung over the entire planet, wrapping it in a bundle of endless stars. The moon was nowhere in sight, though mere hours prior, it was on the verge of arising. Bardock stood in front of his home, carrying Kakarot in his arms. Kakarot sported a set of black and gold armor, outright identical to his father's. Bardock looked around, trying to see if any of the village's lights were on. Fortunately, no one seemed to be awake. He stood patiently, awaiting his wife's arrival. Bardock looked toward the sky, watching as another Frieza Force ship approached the atmosphere. He soon noticed the lack of any sort of moon. He gritted his teeth, coming to a quick realization. Bardock muttered, "Damn you Frieza... taking out the moon so we can't transform."

Gine slowly walked toward Bardock, carrying a large pod. It resembled that of his transportation device used on Planet Kanassa, down to the very last detail. She set it on the ground, sweating ever so slightly. She said quietly, "You know, as the brawn of the family, you could have carried this all the way home." Her attempt at a joke only forced a slight chuckle out of Bardock's lips. His lips remained stoic, denying any sort of soothing smile. He looked down at Kakarot, holding the slumbering child close to his chest. He said to Gine, "Let's get him out of here. The sound of the pod won't wake anyone up, but we can't afford any unwanted attention." Bardock walked toward Gine, placing Kakarot in her arms. He picked up the pod, ready to depart.

Gine and Bardock walked away from the village, with the former taking gentle steps as to not awake Kakarot. Gine was still conflicted. She still didn't want to go through with the plan, yet she didn't want to risk her son's safety. She asked, "Why don't we come with Kakarot? We can rendezvous with Raditz." Bardock shook his head. As much as he wanted to stick by his son's side, he knew it would only further the risk. He answered, "We can't. They'd use their damn scouters to track us down. I... wish that you would have been able to stick with him, but they're able to detect power levels down to the triple digits. He has to go alone." The upcoming silence pierced their hearts and minds like daggers; nothing needed to be said. For fifteen minutes, the couple walked along a gravel path, avoiding any sort of civilization. Finally, Bardock stood in place. He set the pod on the ground, pressing a button. The hatch of the pod slowly opened, letting out a hiss of pressurized air. He said, "This is far enough. There isn't anyone around for the next twenty miles, so we shouldn't catch anyone's attention." Gine walked toward the pod, quivering with every step she took. She looked down at her son, ready to burst into tears. Yet, she couldn't help but smile. She brought her hand to Kakarot's cheek, rubbing it ever so gently. The young Saiyan soon woke up, letting out a high-pitched yawn. His tail swayed as he stretched his body, his eyes barely open. Gine asked, "Why are you doing this, Bardock? It's unlike a Saiyan man to care so much for his family, so what's gotten into you?"

Bardock turned toward Gine, a bit confused at the question. However, upon seeing her smile, he couldn't help but loosen his internal tension. Her question wasn't out of confusion. By her expression, he was able to find her admiration toward his actions. He smiled back at her, walking close to her and Kakarot. His eyes focused on his youngest son, watching the young boy struggle to stay awake. Bardock answered, "I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm always out fighting, destroying things, that I'd like to finally save something for once." Bardock gently grabbed Kakarot from Gine's arms. Immediately, Kakarot began to let out a loud desperate wail. He reached for his mother, desperate to feel her warm embrace once again. Bardock remained unfazed by his son's tears. He continued, "Especially if it's someone judged to be a lower class warrior... like my Kakarot."

Bardock slowly walked toward the pod, placing the teary-eyed Kakarot on the seat. The pod door slowly shut, only urging the young Saiyan to continue his cries. Gine ran toward the pod, putting her hand on the glass. Attempting to soothe his wife, Bardock explained, "I programmed his pod to head to a distant planet called Earth. The people there aren't too technologically advanced, and they aren't strong in the slightest. He should do well there, Gine. It's far away and isn't valuable, so I'm hoping it'll stay off the Frieza Force's radar."

Gine peered through the glass window of the pod, watching as her son wept. Being forced to watch her child cry in such a tragic matter was nearly enough to break her right then and there. Her head moved closer to the glass, mere inches away. She said, "If your father's wrong about this, we'll come get you right away." Bardock put his hand on the glass, peering into the pod with a gentle smile on his face. He added, "Listen son, you do what it takes to survive, got it?" Kakarot's cries slowly turned into gentle, occasional sniffles. He stared at his parents through the glass, his tears still dripping down his cheeks. His hand reached out toward the glass, attempting to make contact with his parents. Yet, the glass denied him of such comfort. "Goodbye, Kakarot." Bardock said.

The space pod slowly began to ascend. Almost in unison, Kakarot's cries began to resurface. His endless, frantic wails of fear became harder and harder to hear within a matter of seconds. Before Bardock and Gine could have any second thoughts, the pod sped off, breaking through the atmosphere at unprecedented speeds. They watched as Kakarot departed the planet. Gine couldn't hold out any longer. The first tear began to stream down her face, followed by another, and then another. She cried out, "Don't forget us, Kakarot!" Her voice echoed throughout the silent valley, scaring off any and all wildlife in the area. She wept, turning toward Bardock for comfort. He held her close, watching as his son's pod finally left their view. There was no turning back now. All they could do now was face the inevitable fate of their entire race, or pray to the gods that Bardock's suspicions were incorrect.

"Let's go home, Gine." Bardock suggested. He held his wife close, beginning to walk home. Gine followed close, desperate to remain within her husband's embrace. The walk home took far longer, or it at least seemed that way due to the shared silence between them. Bardock's mind began to study his previous vision, playing it like an endless tape in his mind. He tried to pick apart every little detail, trying to find a way he could counterattack. Every opening, every moment of hesitation was simulated in his brilliant brain. Yet, with every single scenario, the result remained the same. Though the details varied, it seemed as if Planet Vegeta's destruction was the only constant. This was a losing battle, no matter how hard he fought. Bardock looked down at Gine, though she didn't turn to exchange glances. He began to come to terms with their fate. Yet, sitting back and allowing it to happen didn't feel right. Bardock tightened his embrace, prompting Gine to take notice. She looked up at the Saiyan warrior and asked, "Are... you okay, Bardock?"

Bardock looked up toward the night sky. He gazed upon the numerous Frieza Force ships in the sky, an amount that had nearly tripled since he returned home. There was only one ship within the fleet that was missing: the emperor's. Once Frieza's ship reached Planet Vegeta, the entire Saiyan race would be doomed. They had only a matter of hours left, Bardock was certain of it. He finally answered, "Nothing, Gine... nothing at all." Gine kept a close eye on Bardock, not believing his words in the slightest. It was more than obvious when something was on his mind, especially in a situation such as this.

Twenty minutes later, Bardock and Gine had finally reached the outskirts of the village. Bardock kept occasionally glancing at the night sky, trying to keep an eye out for the emperor's ship. So far, the Saiyans seemed to be in the clear. He and Gine walked toward their home, just about to open the makeshift door. However, they were soon cut off. A forced cough broke the silence, forcing Bardock to immediately go on guard. Frantically, he moved Gine behind him, holding out a hand toward the source of the noise. However, Bardock soon felt a crash of relief. The sound came from Tora, who was standing against his own home's wall. Tora crossed his arms, giving the two a easy-going smirk. He said sarcastically, "Wow, coming home at such a late hour? That's not suspicious at all."

Bardock rolled his eyes. He turned toward Gine and said, "I'll meet you inside, Gine. Try to get some rest." Gine hesitated for a moment. For a few brief seconds, she maintained her hold on Bardock, not wanting to leave his side. However, this seemed like a situation she didn't need to be involved in. Against her own wishes, Gine nodded her head and went inside. Tora watched as the Saiyan woman went into the home. He said, "You know, you two are something special, for better or for worse. Heh, most Saiyan couples are just mates, nothing more." Bardock could see straight through Tora's formalities. Bardock crossed his arms, walking toward his comrade. He said, "What is it, Tora? It's clear you want something, so spit it out. I'm exactly in a patient mood at the moment."

Tora chuckled a little bit as he looked up at the sky. The same feeling of silent dread was practically written across his face. He said, "Yeah, I suppose not. Look, you guys woke me up while you were leaving. It seems like that boy is safe for now, but he's not what I wanted to talk about." Tora pointed up toward the sky, directly at the fleet of ships. He continued, "That, that is what I want to talk about. All those ships can't mean anything good." Bardock retained his gaze toward the fleet. The fear of Frieza's ship finally showing up wad quickly building up inside of him. Sweat began to build on his forehead. He replied, "Yeah... I doubt it's about a new mission. It's almost like-"

Tora raised a hand, cutting his leader off. "Like they're trying to kill us off? Yeah, I thought so too." He said. Bardock was a bit surprised by this revelation. He raised an eyebrow at Tora, visibly confused. Tora further elaborated, "I mean... what else could it be? Word around the street is that he's been asking about the legendary Super Saiyan. Heh, getting all worked up over a little legend... what a paranoid freak." Bardock's eyes lit up, he couldn't believe what his ally just said. Yet, it made all too much sense. It was just like he was told in his vision. He said, "Call me crazy, but I figured that as well." Bardock stayed silent for a few moments, trying to plan out a last stand. Yet, he had no clue where to begin. So far, the Frieza Force hadn't even attempted to destroy the planet, or even invade. A full-scale assault against the force would only quicken the inevitable.

Finally, within a matter of minutes, the final ship arrived. It outright dwarfed every other vehicle in the fleet, standing out like a sore thumb. Bardock gritted his teeth together, clenching his hand into a fist. "He's here." He stated. Gine ran outside by her husband. Her eyes didn't dare look away from the threatening fleet. She gulped, her entire body quivering in fear. She turned toward Bardock and said, "Frieza's ship. What are we supposed to do?" Though it was hard to make out, the image of countless space pods escaping the ships filled the sky. By the second, each pod seemed to grow dramatically in size, quickly approaching the planet. There seemed to be hundreds, maybe even thousands of space pods, undoubtedly hostile members of the Frieza Force. Yet, despite the absurdly large horde, every single pod seemed to be heading in one direction. "They're heading for the palace." Bardock noted.

Bardock turned toward his wife, holding her hand. He smiled softly at her, a desperate attempt to ease her nerves. Of course, in such a tragic situation, he couldn't possibly put her at ease. He said, "Stay here, Gine. All of them are gonna be heading for the palace, but we have no clue what they're gonna do after. Whatever you do, don't go outside, got it?" Gine hesitated, making no effort to leave her husband's side. As much as she wanted to stay with him, she knew that she wouldn't be able to help. She was far too weak, only able to put up a fight against the lowest-class warriors of the force. She wrapped her arms around Bardock, nearly forcing him to trip. Shakily, she said, "Be careful, Bardock. Please... please make it back home." Bardock chuckled softly, returning the embrace with a single arm. He stayed silent at the plea, telling Gine all she needed to know: he wouldn't make it back alive. Gine and Bardock held the hug, fully aware that it would be their last embrace. Even after Bardock let go, Gine maintained her embrace. Quiet, shaky sobs and whimpers escaped her lips, all while tears began to leave droplets on his armor. Eventually, she let go of him, quickly running back into their home. Bardock watched as his wife went inside, his smile slowly fading away. A blue energy slowly began to creep up his leg, engulfing his lower body. He said, "Tora... go wake up the others. I'll meet you all in the kingdom." Tora nodded his head, looking toward the descending space pods one more time. He smirked slightly, slowly closing his eyes. "Heh... what a hell of a way to die. You better not be dead before we get there, Bardock." Tora quickly ran away, heading into one of the several small homes. Without another word, Bardock shot into the air, flying toward his final battleground: the kingdom of King Vegeta.

Bardock flew toward the kingdom at unprecedented speeds. The high-pitched rush of wind against his ears did nothing to disturb his focus. His eyes were fixated on the kingdom, waiting for the first sign of hostility. The kingdom seemed to span for dozens of miles, filled to the brim with large structures. However, the pride and joy of the kingdom was easily the hulking, luxurious castle, the home of the Vegeta family. Soon, a loud explosion engulfed one of the tall structures within the city. The initial explosion was soon outclassed by another, and then another. It was as if the entire kingdom was being bombed. Bardock let out a low, primal snarl. He said to himself, "If those bastards think they're gonna get away with this, they've got another thing coming." Within a matter of seconds, Bardock finally landed in the kingdom streets.

The sheer force of Bardock's speed created a small crater in the street, outright disintegrating any weak Frieza Force soldiers caught in his path. Bardock looked around, noticing hundreds of soldiers staring directly at him. He smirked slightly, watching each soldier charge at him with murderous intent. He said, "Alright you scum, bring it!" One soldier managed to close the distance, attempting to throw a wild haymaker at the Saiyan. However, Bardock merely countered with an uppercut, piercing through the soldier's stomach. Another attempted to catch him from behind. The soldier tried to clap his hands against his ears, disorienting Bardock. Yet, the Saiyan was able to counter before any harm was done. With his hand still stuck within the lifeless body of his first victim, he flung his arm toward the hostile. The sheer force of the lifeless body hitting the soldier was enough to crack the soldier's head open, leaving him twitching as his body hit the ground. Soldier after soldier attempted to attack Bardock, yet each weren't able to land a single hit. He merely dodged and counterattacked, outperforming the Frieza Force soldiers without effort for minutes straight.

However, the rest of the city's Saiyans weren't as fortunate. The pained screams of Saiyan warriors and Frieza Force soldiers rang throughout the entire city, becoming louder with each passing second. Bardock watched as four blurs of energy raced toward the castle. He smirked slightly, quickly recognizing who they were. "Heh, it's about time they showed up." He joked. Finally, one Frieza soldier managed to land a hit on Bardock. Bardock's smirk quickly faded away, upon feeling an attack against the back of his head. Yet, he remained completely unfazed. He turned around, staring the reptilian-like soldier down. The soldier began to quiver, letting out desperate whimpers. He said, "I-Impossible, there's no way a Saiyan-" Before he could continue, Bardock connected with a fierce right hook, mutilating the soldier's body upon impact. A blue ki began to surround Bardock, burning away at the ground beneath him. Dozens of Frieza Force soldiers attempted to attack him at once, yet they couldn't get past the intense ki surrounding him. With ear-piercing scream, Bardock released his energy, surrounding the entire block with an intense, spherical blue aura. The Frieza Soldiers caught in the blue orb were killed, burnt down to a crisp. Within a matter of seconds, Bardock withdrew the attack. He looked around, noticing that many soldiers were flying toward the fleet of ships. He raised an eyebrow, asking himself, "What the hell? They're... running away?"

Before Bardock could pursue the hostile forces, a loud explosion engulfed the entirety of King Vegeta's palace. Bardock quickly turned toward the castle, unable to see it due to the sheer amount of rubble. His eyes widened, his body took a small step back. "N-No... don't tell me-" Bardock didn't even bother finishing his sentence. He raced toward the fallen castle, ignoring each Frieza Solider and fallen Saiyan he came across. He quickly managed to reach the castle, or at least what remained of it. He looked around, trying to see through the clouds of dust and rocks. Frantically, he called out, "Tora! Fasha! Shugesh! Borgos!" Yet, not a single voice called to respond.

Out of nowhere, a stray energy blast collided with Bardock's back. The sheer force of the blast was able to shove him back slightly. Yet, it was only powerful enough to be a slight annoyance. He spun around, trying to find the aggressor. The clouds of dust were beginning to settle, yet his vision was yet obscured. Almost in unison with his movements, another energy blast hit his back. This initial blast was soon followed by another, slowly intensifying into a series of barraging ki blasts. With each hit against his body, Bardock could feel the energy blasts beginning to take their toll. What began as a slight annoyance was slowly becoming slight burning sensations at his body. Admist the series of attacks, he even felt his left shoulder pad fly off his armor, scraping his chin. Bardock let out a deep snarl, becoming more and more annoyed with every attack. Suddenly, he let out an intense yell, his voice echoing throughout the palace ruins. He launched a blue wave of ki into the air, dispersing the blinding dust almost immediately.

Bardock turned around, now coming face to face with his aggressors. However, his face soon turned into one of shock. Before him stood two unique Frieza Force soldiers. One in particular was outright an ache to his eyes. The soldier was as tall as Bardock, yet his body was far bulkier. The soldier's pink scales were covered with a series of scattered spikes. His blue and orange armor were unlike that of the lower-class Frieza soldiers. Instead, it was visibly far more sturdy, an inch thick worth of plating. He seemed to move sporadically, as if his adrenaline was at an all-time high. The pink skinned soldier smirked at Bardock and said, "Well, look who we have here. Heh, just the Saiyan we were looking for. Isn't that right, Zarbon?" His voice was harsh, far worse than listening to long, sharp nails against a chalkboard.

Another soldier stepped toward the former. The newcomer was almost the complete opposite of his comrade. He was far taller, nearly a foot height-wise. His light green body was far more toned, a lean physique that any fighter would kill for. His braided green hair flowed down to his shoulder blades, waving slightly in the breeze. His forearms and elbows were covered in a pink sleeve, oddly complimenting his thick, white and yellow armor. Much like his comrade's, the newcomer's armor was far thicker than the typical Frieza Force soldier. He was undoubtedly the individual the previous soldier referred to as Zarbon. Zarbon crossed his arms, giving a confident grin. He seemed far more composed compared to his comrade and far more calculated. He said, "Ah, Bardock, was it? It's about time you showed up. I was worried that this planet would be decimated before we had a proper chance to enjoy ourselves."

Bardock knew that such an encounter only meant bad news. He stared down the two soldiers, quickly answering, "Zarbon... Dodoria. What have you done to my crew?" A blue ki began to surround the Saiyan. The surrounding rubble began to levitate as his body quaked with sheer anger. His hands balled into fists, ready to combat the two soldiers.

Without allowing time for an answer, Bardock rushed toward Dodoria and Zabron, the initial takeoff of his flight breaking the solid ground beneath him. Bardock landed a swift hook to Dodoria's jaw, prompting a loud crack of bone to escape the latter's body. The force Bardock put behind the attack was enough to launch the pink-skinned soldier flying into a nearby boulder, forcing Dodoria to scream out in agony. Zarbon's eyes lit up with a sense of horror. "D-Dodoria?!" He muttered. He turned toward the Saiyan, only to be met with a wild roundhouse to the ribs. A pained, shaky shriek forced its way out of Zarbon as he was flung toward his comrade. Unlike Dodoria, Zarbon was able to recover, flipping onto his knees as his hand gripped at the ground. His hand pulled up dirt and rubble as he slid back. Within a few seconds, the green-haired soldier was able to slow himself down. He quickly sprung up, looking down at the injured area. His eyes widened upon seeing the clear cracks in his armor, a clear sign of the Saiyan's fearful power. Zarbon gritted his teeth together, outright baffled at the sheer display of strength. "Ngh, such savagery! Know your place, you scum!" Zarbon screamed out.

Zarbon rushed toward Bardock, trying to land a series of jabs and hooks. However, the Saiyan merely tapped at the soldier's wrists, negating all momentum behind the attacks. Bardock knew he was far beyond the two's individual strength. At this point, allowing the fight to continue would be redundant. However, a carnal instinct began to build up within him. He smirked slightly, letting out a slight chuckle. "Heh, is that all? So much for Frieza's right-hand man." Bardock taunted.

Zarbon let out a grunt of frustration. He began to change his strategy, combining his jabs and hooks with a series of roundhouse kicks. Yet, Bardock was easily able to counter each attack. His hands continued to negate all momentum behind the strikes, all while his body moved ever so slightly to evade the kicks. Out of nowhere, Bardock grabbed Zarbon's wrist, lifting the soldier over his body. With a shout of triumph, Bardock slammed Zarbon against the ground, leaving a perfect indent of the enemy's body. Bardock followed it up with another slam, and then another. With each slam becoming progressively more powerful, Zarbon's armor was quickly beginning to break. He yelped and screamed each time his body collided with the ground, with one landing in particular jumbling his mind. As Zarbon's head collided with the ground, Bardock finally let go, allowing the soldier to finally stand up. Zarbon slowly tried to get on his feet, though every move he made was sloppy, making him struggle to stay on his feet.

Without another word, Bardock grabbed Zarbon by the throat, lifting him into the air. Zarbon's legs kicked at the Saiyan's stomach, attempting to break free. Though the kicks were able to damage his armor, Bardock merely winced at each attack. He began to tighten his grip, forcing a pained shriek out of Zarbon. The soldier's kicks became more forceful, desperate to break the grip. Yet by the second, Bardock tightened his grip more and more. Zarbon's screams could no longer be heard, his chest stopped to inflate as he breathed. His face was quickly beginning to deepen, losing precious oxygen. With desperation in his mind, Zarbon finally managed to counter. He jabbed two of his fingers in the Saiyan's eyes, forcing a loud yell out of the warrior. Bardock stumbled back, letting go of Zarbon. The Saiyan's vision was blurry, beyond the point of sight. He began to throw wild, desperate hooks, hoping to colide with his enemy. Yet, not a single attack managed to land. Zarbon took deep breaths, his face slowly returning to its original, healthy hue. He chuckled sinisterly, his dark tone lingering in the air. He said, "Idiot. You're stronger than we anticipated, but did you really think we'd lure you in here without a plan?"

Suddenly, Bardock felt a terrifying crack against his lower spine. He screamed out in agony, feeling each individual vertebrae within the blow's vicinity pop. He was launched to the ground, his face dragging against the dirt. His lungs ached as he tried to catch his breath, all while he struggled to stand. He turned his head, finally catching a glimpse of the hostile. It was Dodoria, as he should have expected. Dodoria patted his own head, his mouth bleeding from the previous blow. He let out a weak, exhausted chuckle. "Heh, you messed me up something fierce, Saiyan. But, you made a fatal mistake: you took your eyes off me." Dodoria stuck out a single arm, beginning to charge a yellow blast. The orb of energy quickly began to grow in his palm, crackling with electrifying energy. Zarbon followed his comrade, sticking out his right arm. The two yellow orbs began to form into one, residing a foot away from their hands.

Bardock could feel the unbearable heat radiating off the blasts. He struggled to stand, yet his legs were almost completely numb. Every time he managed to build a base onto his hands and knees, he slumped back to the ground. "D-Damn you!" He cursed under his breath. Dodoria chuckled slightly, satisfied with the Saiyan's agony. Zarbon announced, "We don't have time to keep charging this, Dodoria. If he recovers, we're done for." Dodoria rolled his eyes, his smirk quickly going away. He responded, "You know just how to suck all the fun out of everything, huh Zarbon?" Without another word, the two Frieza Force soldiers launched their combined attack. The yellow beam tore at the ground beneath it, leaving a long, thin crater in its wake. Before Bardock could finally stand, he was engulfed by the blast.

Bardock screamed in terror as the blast tore at his body, burning away at his skin. His armor slowly began to chip away, quickly revealing his left pec. Admist the blast, he threw his hands in front of him, shielding his body from further damage. Yet, it did little to prevent the intense damage. The beam continued to assault his body, tearing shreds of clothing, bits of armor, and burning off the hairs on his arms and legs. He needed to act quickly. If this beam lasted any longer, then there was no clue what would be left of his body.

Bardock forced his arms together, forcing a small point of relief within the blast. His arms quaked as he held them together, struggling to muster up any sort of strength. He closed his eyes, trying not to blind himself any further. His mind began to race, tracing back to his unusual premonition while he was in the hospital. The memory of the planet's destruction played like a loop in his head, endlessly taunting him. A chorus of Frieza's maniacal laughter haunted him, like the grim reaper coming to collect its prey. Bardock muttered, "N-No... this isn't-" He began to spread his arms, slowly forcing the combined blast back into two beams. His arms quivered as he struggled to separate the attack, his palms quickly becoming scorched. Nevertheless, he persisted, forcing the blasts further and further apart. His eyes darted open, glaring at Dodoria and Zarbon. Bardock screamed out, "This... isn't over!"

With one final push, Bardock flung his arms into the air, redirecting the blasts into the sky. The attacks engulfed any Frieza soldiers unlucky enough to be caught in its direction, incinerating them down to ash. Zarbon and Dodoria watched in horrified awe as the Saiyan deflected their attacks. Dodoria said under his breath, "W-What the? That's impossible! How did he?" Zarbon quickly recollected himself. He smirked slightly, pulling his arm away. His blast quickly dissipated, barely missing the fleet of ships in the sky. He turned toward Dodoria and said, "Oh, don't worry about the Saiyan. Just look at him."

Bardock huffed and puffed, unable to move his arms. It was like his entire body was being controlled by strings in a stoic position. The cuts and tears at his body leaked with his Saiyan blood. His armor was barely hanging onto his body, only held together by a single arm strap. He tried to move, yet he couldn't. Within seconds, his vision began to sway. His body trembled violently, having taken its toll from the struggle. The Saiyan fell onto his knees, unable to use his arms to catch his fall. Soon enough, his face collided against the ground, his eyes open wide with a lifeless stare.

Dodoria could still feel a nervous sweat dripping down his forehead. Nevertheless, he chuckled. His simple, exhausted chuckles soon turned into a horrid symphony of taunting laughter. He withdrew his arm, forcing his blast to fade away. "Heh, not so tough now, huh Saiyan? You fought so hard, and for what? Just to die in the end?" Dodoria spat in Bardock's direction, adding further insult. Zarbon tapped Dodoria's shoulder slightly. The green-haired man announced, "We need to leave immediately. I highly doubt Lord Frieza will have the patience to wait any longer." Without another word, both Dodoria and Zarbon sped off, flying toward the fleet of ships.

Bardock found himself in a strange, vast valley. The grass was unlike anything he had ever seen, blue in color. The valley was filled with countless craters, as if the ground was blown away. He looked around, trying to make sense of his new surroundings. "W-Where am I? What is all this?" He asked himself. Bardock took a single step. Yet, it didn't feel like his foot hit anything. He looked down, watching the ground ripple as if it was water. "A-Am I... dead?" Bardock asked himself.

The Saiyan warrior looked up from the odd ground, his eyes quickly greeted by an odd sight. He gazed upon an odd figure in front of him. The man sported an orange gi, with blue wristbands and boots. His blue belt's excess fabric waved in the wind, as if a viscious storm was appapproach. The most baffling feature of the stranger was his spiky, yet black hair. It was an exact replica of Bardock's, down to the very last hair. Bardock watched on, immediately recognizing the hair. His eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost. Shakily, he finally muttered, "K-Kakarot... is that you?" The stranger slowly turned around, revealing his face. His eyes were nearly identical to Gine's. Gentle, yet filled with a firey passion. Bardock could no longer deny it: this was his son. Bardock continued to ask himself, "How? You were barely a kid when you left." Yet, Kakarot didn't respond. He didn't even recognize Bardock, instead looking past the warrior.

Bardock slowly turned around, trying to see what his son was staring at. His eyes widened with a horrified intensity. Before him stood a short, white-scaled creature. The creature's tail swayed in a threatening motion, whipping at the ground beneath him. His crimson eyes glared at Goku, looking past the father. The creature seemed familiar to Bardock, yet he couldn't explain why. However, he quickly noticed the circular-like grown on the creature's head. "F-Frieza?" He muttered under his breath. Before he could make a move, Frieza and Kakarot launched toward each other, their fists colliding. The sheer force was enough to launch Bardock away, sending him crashing into the water-like ground. Before he could recover, a blinding light engulfed the entire landscape.

Bardock's eyes returned to life, his body filled with adrenaline. He quickly sat up, his breath heavy with fear. He looked around, comparing his previous surroundings. He found himself in the ruins of the palace, still on Planet Vegeta. "Was that... another vision?" He asked himself. Bardock slowly stood up, trying to make further sense of his situation. However, his body was quickly overwhelmed with a horrid pain. He let out a shriek of agony, quickly falling onto his hands and knees. He balled his hand into a fist, trying to somehow endure the pain. Bardock watched as the blood from his head and body dripped onto the ground, leaving countless crimson stains on the ground. "I'm... still alive. That means-" Bardock looked toward the sky, watching as countless Frieza Force soldiers flew toward the fleet of ships. There was only one explanation: they were trying to avoid the inevitable destruction. "It's finally happening. D-Damn it!" He yelled out. Bardock slammed his scorched fist against the ground, cracking the dirt and rocks beneath him. He put his forehead against the ground, his eyes still wide open. He trembled, overwhelmed with a sense of helplessness. Bardock continued, "What the hell am I supposed to do? I couldn't even kill them, how the hell am I gonna stop Frieza?!" He threw his fist into the ground once more. The entire foundation of the fallen palace seemed to shake, even the ground supporting it. The surface of the ground was blown away, leaving a large crater in its wake.

Bardock continued to breathe heavily, desperately trying to catch his breath. He slowly sat up, his body still aching with a burning sensation. He watched as the final soldiers reached the fleet. It was no longer a matter of hours, only minutes until doomsday. Bardock slowly stood up, barely able to support his own weight. He looked down at his fist, staring at the burns inflicted during his battle. "Kakarot..." He muttered under his breath, "Gine..." His signature blue ki began to surface yet again. It slowly crept along his legs, slithering along his entire body. "Ah, to hell with this! If I'm gonna die, then I'm gonna die fighting!"

He walked further along the crater, quickly reaching the surface. Bardock stared at the Frieza Force ships. By now, all soldiers had finally retreated into the ships. He knew that he now had very little time left. He sped off toward the sky, flying toward the fleet. His entire body felt rejuvenated, as if all the damage he endured was null and void. Bardock began to charge a single ki blast, quickly firing it at one of the ships. The ship was immediately torn upon impact, allowing the blast to venture deeper. Within fractions of a second, the blast had finally torn its way to the engines. The entire ship was engulfed with a loud, firey explosion. The screams of the soldiers within the ship couldn't even he heard, it all happened too fast.

Upon the first ship's explosion, countless soldiers began to escape their vehicles, ready to defend the fleet. All of them watched as Bardock's blue ki approached, escaping the atmosphere at unprecedented speeds. Bardock glared at the center ship, the lead of the entire fleet. In his hands, he began to charge even more ki blasts. "That's where Frieza is. I need to end this before any soldiers can get in the way." Bardock muttered. He kept flying, not allowing the memories of his vision to disturb his focus. He glanced over, watching as countless soldiers began to approach. He smirked at their attempts, all of them were far too slow to catch up.

Bardock finally reached the center ship. He cupped his hands together, as if he was holding a single ball. He then forced his arms forward, combining the two blasts into one. The orb of blue ki in front of his hands quickly grew, swiftly eclipsing even his own body. "Go to hell, Frieza!" Bardock screamed out. He fired the attack, directing it toward the window of the lead ship. The blast managed to break through the window, forcing the vacuum of space to take its effect. Dozens soldiers were dragged into the attack, disintegrating them on the spot. At first, Bardock was certain of himself. He added more power to the attack, trying to force it further into the ship. Yet, the attack didn't budge. His smirk quickly faded away. "What the hell?" He exclaimed. Before he could further his offense, the blast was quickly launched back toward his direction. Bardock stopped his attack, forcing it to quickly dissipate. He watched on in horror, quickly realizing who managed to block the attack.

Frieza slowly emerged from the ship, sitting in his signature hovercraft. He scowled at the Saiyan, his eyes filled with hatred. Frieza exclaimed, "Stand down!" Without a second thought, all of the hostile soldiers stood in place, ceasing their assault on the Saiyan. Frieza never diverted his gaze from Bardock. The tyrant gritted his teeth together, letting out a frustrated groan. However, he managed to quickly regain his composure. He took a deep breath, the air cooling his irritated nerves. As he exhaled, his lips curled into a sadistic, yet casual grin. He announced, "I must say, you've impressed me, Saiyan. I take it that you're the one who stood up to Dodoria and Zarbon?" Sarcastically, Frieza began to clap. His palms slowly slapped against each other, his flair only adding to the sarcastic message. He continued, "No Saiyan has ever managed to best them. And yet, here you stand, a low-class Saiyan warrior. How utterly disgusting." Frieza's grin slowly darkened, a clear foreshadow to his next move. He added, "Oh, will I enjoy burning your entire planet to its core."

Bardock stared at the tyrant, his gaze not daring to look away. He asked simply, "Why... why would you kill all of these Saiyans over some stupid legend? It's just some stupid myth passed down between children!" Frieza seemed a bit surprised. He crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at the Saiyan. Nevertheless, Frieza answered, "Well Saiyan, you have me all figured out, it seems. It's true, the legends of the supposed Super Saiyan are concerning. That kind of power in your kind's hands would be a catastrophe waiting to happen. What kind of Emperor would I be if I let that type of threat went unchecked? Besides, it's best to put the slumbering beast down before it awakens."

Frieza slowly raised a single finger in the air. The tip of his finger began to charge a miniscule orange orb. Bardock immediately recognized what this was. He opened his hand, beginning to charge a ball of ki in his palm. Bardock said, "This... will change everything. The fate of this planet... the fate of the Saiyans... heh, even your fate, you maniacal bastard." Without another word, Bardock began to charge incredible amounts of ki into his attack, a final Riot Javelin. It quickly grew, engulfing his entire hand. He began to pant heavily, putting all of his energy into the single attack. "Go to Hell, Frieza!" Bardock screamed at the top of his lungs. He launched the attack at Frieza, desperately praying for success. Frieza watched as the attack quickly made its way toward him. The orb at his fingertip suddenly grew to an unfathomable size, eclipsing the shine of the sun. Bardock's Riot Javelin collided with the Supernova, disintegrated upon impact. A helpless shock soon overwhelmed the warrior. He watched in horror as his attack was completely negated. "N-No, this isn't real!" He panicked.

Frieza's smirk darkened, filled to the brim with murderous intent. "This will be the last time I gaze upon this planet." He announced. A dark, horrid laughter escaped his lips as he flicked his finger, launched the Supernova toward the planet. Bardock could feel the Supernova's heat already, despite it having just taken off. Bardock outstretched his arms, trying to somehow defend the attack. However, as it finally reached his hands, it merely engulfed them. Bardock let out a terrified, pained scream at the top of his lungs. The attack quickly engulfed his entire body, quickly beginning to burn away at his armor. His eyes quickly turned pale, his body lost its ability to move. All of a sudden, the attack began to slow down, to the point where he could barely tell if it was moving. Bardock could still feel the burning sensation of the Supernova, now prolonged by the sudden phenomenon. Slowly, his vision went blank.

Bardock began to see an odd, outright unfamiliar sight, at least for the most part. He found himself on the same planet as his second premonition. Yet, it was almost unrecognizable. The air was filled with a smoky, ash-ridden stench. The ground was split, spurting out enormous geysers of lava. The nearby lakes and oceans seemed void of any water. A bright, yellow glow soon caught Bardock's attention. He looked up, nearly blinded by the shine. Frieza was levitating in the air, breathing heavily. He took the same appearance as he did in Bardock's second premonition.

The tyrant huffed and puffed, sweat dripping along his forehead and cheeks. Cuts and tears could be seen all over his body. The tip of his tail was even cut off, his purple blood stained against the horrid injury. Bardock watched on with absolute disbelief. With how easily Frieza managed to destroy Planet Vegeta, he couldn't possibly imagine something capable of hurting the tyrant, let alone to such a degree. However, he would soon get his answer as he looked toward the sky. Bardock squinted his eyes, trying to see past a blinding yellow light. Within the yellow light stood an odd man. His hair was a golden yellow, much like the golden ki surrounding him. His hair stood tall, much more compressed than other styles. Four bangs hung down from his hair, covering his forehead. His eyes were green, almost like the finest emeralds. His body shared similar cuts and scars to Frieza, yet the man didn't seem exhausted in the finest. His upper body was left completely exposed, his shirt likely having been torn away. However, Bardock was quickly able to recognize the man by his orange gi pants and blue boots. He watched on in awe, though his eyes held a disbelief which couldn't possibly be put into words. "K-Kakarot?" He muttered. Suddenly, Frieza and Kakarot launched toward each other, engaging in battle. Their battle gave off an odd, yellow and purple glow, one that seemed to engulf the entire planet. Bardock shielded his eyes, trying to protect his sight.

Bardock quickly awoke from his vision. He was still trapped inside the Supernova, the attack burning away at his body. It slowly descended toward Planet Vegeta, breaking through its atmosphere. When it finally hit the ground, it tore at the solid rock and dirt, falling deeper and deeper toward the planet's core. Bardock smirked slightly, reflecting upon his trio of visions. The message was slowly becoming clear to him. "My son... it's up to you now." He managed to croak out, "Don't let that stupid label of a low-class warrior hold you back, I'd never did with me. Grow strong, defeat Frieza, and avenge our race... our family."

Finally, the Supernova collided with the core of Planet Vegeta, causing a horrid landscape to fruition. The destruction engulfed the entire planet, sending it into a hellscape of flames and lava. However, that only lasted for a brief few seconds. Once the Supernova forced itself deeper, it exploded, forcing the entire planet to as well. Bardock was caught in the explosion, the sheer force of it tearing his flesh down to the bone. He didn't even have time to process the pain. By then, his left forearm and hand was already disintegrated down to his skeleton. With one final scream, he yelled out, "Kakarot!!" His vision went blank, as his mind finally slipped away.

Frieza watched as the planet exploded, watching as the power level scans on his scouter slowly decreased. At first, due to Bardock's sheer power, it read in the six digit mark. However, upon the planet's destruction, it quickly went down. He kept a close eye, studying the reading as it finally hit its final result: zero. Frieza began to let out a demonic, outright sinister laughter. He yelled out, "Isn't this beautiful?! Just look at those beautiful fireworks! What a marvelous show!" His maniacal laughter persisted, setting unease into the hearts any minds of his loyal soldiers. Zarbon and Dodoria watched within the confines of one of the ships. Both were outright terrified by the sight. The entire planet's destruction even had Zarbon second-guessing himself. Sure, he had heard tales of Frieza destroying planets, yet he never experienced it for himself. Zarbon said, "Such... power. I always hear stories of Lord Frieza's power, but this? It's... rather terrifying." Dodoria couldn't help but agree, at least somewhat. However, he only chuckled at the matter. He retorted, "Yeah, likewise. You gotta admit though, it's a hell of a show." Zarbon and Dodoria slowly walked away, limping slightly from the injuries inflicted during their battle with the rebellious Saiyan, all while their tyrannical leader laughed maniacally.

It felt as if his body was floating through an empty void. Exhausted, Bardock slowly opened his eyes, struggling with each attempt. His vision was blurry, to the point where he could barely make out his surroundings. It seemed as if he was in the endless vacuum of space, with purple and white streaks scattered about inconsistently in an odd, crystal-like pattern. His vision wasn't eager to return, instead taking its sweet, tender time. His body ached with an unbearable pain, yet he couldn't bring himself to scream. He wanted to yell out in agony, but his tired vocal chords felt shot. He let out a quiet groan, struggling to let out even the most simple noises. "Fasha, Tora, Shugesh, Borgos... Gine... I let you all down." He muttered under his breath. Bardock closed his eyes once again, tired. At least now, his life of endless battles was put to a close. Now, he could finally remain in peace.

However, an odd voice beckoned to him. "Ah, Bardock... the Saiyan who foolishly attempted to combat the galactic emperor, only to lose all he held dear in the end." The voice rang in his mind, its feminine tone echoing like a vast cave. Bardock barely even bothered to respond, "What is this place? Am I-"

Another voice quickly interrupted the Saiyan, "No, not quite. You are on the verge, however. You should feel lucky that we brought you here. If not for our efforts, the rest of your body would have been nothing but dust in the wind." Weakly, Bardock looked down at his left hand. He stared at the exposed bone of his fingers, unable to move his hand in the slightest. He smirked slightly, quick to answer, "Heh... well you might as well finish me off. Ngh... his pain... it's no way to live, not for someone like me." The feminine voice tisked at his words, sarcastically mustering up some form of disappointment. She retorted, "Oh warrior, are you really content with the way things played out, with how your fate unfolded." Bardock's smirk quickly faded away. He could feel himself becoming more and more irritated by the second. "It doesn't matter anymore... in the end, my son will avenge us Saiyans."

A blinding white light appeared out of thin air. Bardock had to close his eyes as to not damage his yet blurry vision. The light remained, making it difficult to look toward anything within the endless void. Carefully, he opened his eyes ever so slightly. Two figures hovered toward him, though he couldn't make out any deeply specific details. One seemed much more bulky, no doubt the source of the masculine voice he heard. He wore some kind of armor, along with an odd cape around his lower body. The other sported a more slender figure, one that could easily put most to irritable shame, likely the source of the first voice he heard. Her lower body sported a similar cape, though her magnificent form fit snug in a tight red one piece. Both of them sported blue skin along with white hair. The male crossed his arms, quickly interrupting, "Ah yes, the Saiyan brat, born with a lowly power level of two. As if he will bring himself to finish the job."

Bardock was confused beyond belief. He tried to catch a better view of the two figures. Yet, his vision didn't seem to return in the slightest. It was as if the landscape around him kept the two hidden in an obscured cloak, protecting their identities. With a growing suspicion, he asked, "What do you mean? How... How do you know of Kakarot?" The woman floated closer toward him, with her partner following close behind. She said, "We know how this all ends. Your son does succeed in defeating Frieza... however, he is not the one who kills him. In fact, your son will forget all ties to his heritage, despite becoming perhaps the most important piece for his universe's safety." Bardock stayed silent for a few seconds. It was heart-wrenching, the idea of Kakarot forgetting about his entire heritage, his entire family. However, in the end, Bardock and Gine sent him off Planet Vegeta for one reason: to thrive. Bardock responded, "Even if I believed you two, do you think that I'd want to change anything about it? He'll be happy, won't he? If he does forget the Saiyans, then at least he will thrive on Earth. That was our deepest wish for him."

The masculine newcomer was slowly becoming more and more irritated. He turned toward his partner and said, "It seems as if we aren't going to get through to him. Shall we just get on with this?" The woman slowly nodded her head, placing one hand on Bardock's chest. She said, "I wish you would just comply. It would make things far more simple. However, it seems as if your mind is made. Instead, I have a better idea." A mischievous grin curled onto her face. Her voice took a more sinister weight as she continued, "I am looking forward to your servitude, warrior. Don't fret, you will not remember the hell you will unleash. Instead... you will return to your home galaxy. I do warn you, not everything will be as you remembered it." A strange purple energy began to surround the Saiyan, a power unlike anything he had ever felt. Sudeenly, he felt something sharp pierce the back of his neck. The woman brought out an oddly shaped object, resembling that of a mask. Before Bardock could let out a response, his body was quickly teleported away, with the two blue-skinned strangers following suit.
