Graham is walking around the flat he used to share with his wife and Ryan thinking about the woman he met in the volcano 6 months ago. Ace, or as the world knows her Dorothy McShane. She has become the subject of his thoughts since that day. Ryan came home for a few days then decided it was time to move out. He is about to get his phone out when there is a knock on the door. "Lisa?" One of Grace's best friends is standing at the door.

"I have two tickets to this Jazz concert benefit happening tonight, and I am wondering if you would like to go with me?"

"Sure, I have nothing planned, let me grab my coat." Graham thinks it's two friends going out, but to Lisa it's more.

"Great." Graham reaches into the coat closet and grabs his coat. They arrive as a woman is getting on stage.

"You didn't tell it was for Dorothy McShane," Graham looks at the stage as the woman who has been the subject of his thoughts comes on.

"You know her," she watches as Graham's face lights up when Ace turns around and starts to speak.

"I do, we met back in October and have been spending time together."

"Oh," Tegan and Nyssa, who were sitting at a table with a guy he didn't recognize, turned around and saw Graham. Tegan waves him over.

"Graham."

"Hello Tegan and hello Nyssa, how are you two doing," asks Graham as he kisses both of them on the cheek.

"We're doing good, this is Liam, Ace's brother."

"Liam, this is Graham, we are friends with him."

"I have heard of him from my sister."

"Ace has told me about you too, everyone this is Lisa." Ace comes up and her brother notices how much she lights up seeing Graham, but as soon as she realizes he is with someone her brightness goes down a little. "Hi Ace."

"Hi Graham," they shared a quick hug, "who is this?"

"This is Lisa, Grace's best friend; they were like sisters. She came by my flat today asking if I was free."

"Nice to meet you Lisa."

"Thank you Dorothy." She can tell who some can call her Ace, and doesn't like how she looked at Graham and vice versa.

"We have two chairs open, would the two of you like to join us?"

"You sure Ace?"

"Of course I am, we always have two extra chairs as I like to pick two people to join us. Tonight that is you two," Ace stops herself from touching Graham's arm thinking he is on a date. Graham sits next to Ace as Lisa sits on his other side.

"Lisa, Graham tells me about Grace all the time, what was your favorite thing about her?"

"He talks about Grace?"

"I still miss her, and now with Ryan living somewhere else the flat is lonely."

"You can always call me Graham," Ace says as she takes a sip of her wine.

"And me," Lisa says, trying not to glare at Ace. "Grace was my best friend, I miss her too."

"You two were like sisters." Everyone but Lisa knows this means Graham doesn't see Lisa the way she sees him.

"Is it hard to see me?"

"Not really, I became friends with you while married to Grace."

"It seems right after her death you and Ryan disappeared, we were worried about you. Was Ryan interested in one of those women or you?"

The other three women at the table laughed with Graham, "no Lisa neither of us were interested in the Doc or Yaz."

"Yaz was interested in the Doctor," adds Tegan.

"You shouldn't have said we used to be her."

"I didn't know that at the time, though it seems something else formed that night."

"You mean you and Kate, do you know what HQ?"

"Not that but something else." Lisa looks between everyone and notices Ace and Graham keep exchanging looks and smiles.

There is a taping on the mic, "if anyone wants to dance the floor is open." Graham looks at Ace again and smiles at her.

"Ask Dorothy to dance, I am not one for dancing." Lisa tells him.

Graham holds out his hand, "are you sure Lisa," Ace makes sure before she takes Graham's hand.

"Go ahead." Ace and Graham go to the dance floor hand in hand eye to eye they start swaying to the music. "She likes him a lot doesn't she?"

"I have never seen my sister look at someone that way."

"Nor have I," Tegan starts, "seen her get jealous as quickly as she did when she saw you."

"He likes her too, he's looking at her the same way he looked at Grace."

"You want him to look at you that way don't you," Nyssa asks.

"I do, but he never will. I think I am going to go, I can't see the guy I fell for fall for someone else again. Though the first time he was already with someone."

"I know you don't want to hear this, but I was with them not long after they met, though how they are looking at each other now wasn't automatic; it was quick though."

"How quick." They watch on as Ace laughs at something Graham said.

"Within the first month," adds Nyssa. "He comes to A Charitable Earth sometimes and brings food for the both of us and they flirt like there is no tomorrow."

"This isn't helping much." Lisa adds as she walks away from everyone and Liam follows her.

"They don't mean anything about that. They all knew the Doctor, I met the Doctor, but didn't travel with them when I did. All of those who have traveled with the Doctor are protective of each other."

"You met the Doctor?"

"In 96, back in America where I was living with a mate of mine at the time."

"You think that is what drew them together?"

"I think it was a part of it, but it was a week later I started hearing about Graham and how my sister saw her Professor again after 30 years for her."

"Huh?"

"I know, they traveled in time and space."

"They did?"

"Yes, but you can't tell anyone, it would cause a lot of problems for everyone."

"You are protective of your sister."

"I am, we didn't get the chance to grow up together due to the stupidity of our parents. I wanna see her happy. She would never want to make anyone feel the way you are right now. Want me to go tell my sister that I am leaving and taking you home."

"I drove Graham and I here."

"I see. We can make sure he gets home; if you really want to leave."

"I will go inside and tell him to stay and that I am tired."

"Are you really tired," Lisa hears Graham's voice.

"I'll let the two of you talk," Liam starts to walk away, "you are lucky." He tells Graham before heading in.

"Is this spot taken?"

"No."

"Did I do something wrong?"

"I like you, but you don't feel the same, you like Ace."

"I feel like a jerk, I am sorry; I didn't realize you liked me."

"How?"

"You are great, but I never looked at you that way. You were like a sister to Grace and I looked at you like a sister."

"You can never see me the way you see Dorothy or the way you saw Grace; can you?"

"I'm sorry, but I can't."

"You came with me tonight because there was no pressure right?"

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I'm gonna go now. Let me know when you get home."

"I will, you go back to her, you two like each other."

"What?" Graham doesn't didn't think he wore his feelings on sleeves that much.

"Do you know how you look at her?"

"What do you mean?"

"When the two of you were dancing you looked at her like you looked at Grace."

"I was?"

"Yes, and she looked at you the same way, and according to the others that know her, she isn't known to be looking at anyone that way. Go back in, be with your friends."

"Are you ok?"

"I will be."

"Are you sure?"

"I am," Lisa gets up and heads to her car. Ace walks out.

"Where is she going?"

"Home, she is tired."

"That's not all is it?"

"I never realized she liked me."

"You are easy to like." Remembering what Lisa told him Graham fully faces Ace.

"Is that true?"

"Of course it is, you help keep everyone in check at the meetings, take care of everyone and know how to make me laugh."

"You do all of that too." They look at each other and smile when Tegan comes out.

"Oi you two, Ace still needs to host."
