Chapter 10: The Fight at the Stick Canyon
Meanwhile, the boys had stepped out of the portal and looks around the construction site on the canyon.
"So this must be Stick Canyon," said Tony.
"Yeah, but look around us, there's construction work!" David said.
"We better find NiGHTS so we can defeat-" Elliot then interrupts when he got attacked by the Nightmarens as they stole their Ideyas and sent him upwards into the air.
"Woah! Really?!" Elliot pouted.
"Relax, Elliot. We'll get your Ideyas back as soon as we find NiGHTS." Steve said.
"Yeah, and nothing can stop us now." David said.
"Oh… so you can do that? I don't think so." A voice said.
The boys turned and saw a red & black jester wearing a purple ruffled collar, yellow claw-like talons for fingers and a vest that appears to be open with a diamond patterned chest. He also has a red and black-striped jester's hat that.
"Wait a second. We know you… you're Reala that NiGHTS was talking about!" Tony pouted.
"That's right, I'm here to play a little game with you four, because i'm gonna get revenge on you boys and NiGHTS!" Reala shouted.
He noticed that Steve pulled a box of cards out of his pocket and looks concerned.
"What are you doing?" Reala questioned.
"We're about to play a fun game of go fish. Wanna play?" Steve asks.
"It's gonna be fun!" David said, happily.
"That's not what I meant!" Reala shouted, giving his shark-toothed grin at the boys, making them hugged in fright.
"Hey! Well, that's not very nice to hurt my friends!" Elliot said.
"If that's so? Hmm, if you want you and NiGHTS defeat me, you'll have to get your precious Ideyas back… or else!" Reala said, then he disappeared as he started to have his evil laugh.
"What was that?" Steve asks.
"It kind of reminds me of Roger and his buddies laughing at me," said Elliot.
"Wait, they laughed at you?" Tony asks and he nodded.
"Oh… that Reala! When we collected four Ideyas, i'm gonna shoot him with my Nerf darts!" David said, feeling upset.
"David, calm down. Reala is always up to his mischief tricks."
"I know, but he's the one who trapped NiGHTS in the Ideya palace."
"C'mon, let's go find NiGHTS and help us defeat him." Elliot said to his friends.
David noticed that he saw the Ideya Palace where NiGHTS is waving at them. "And I think I know where they are!"
The boys turned and saw the jester, they smiled as they started running up into the dome.
"Hey boys! Glad you can make it!" NiGHTS said.
"NiGHTS, great to see you again!" Tony said.
"Yeah, we were so worried about you," said Steve.
"I was at the Soft Museum and defeating Jackle with Claris and her friends."
"Well that's good!"
"So NiGHTS, can you tell about this place?"
"Oh yeah. Stick Canyon is a place where it represents the process of Elliot growing up." NiGHTS explained to them.
"Me? Growing up?" Elliot asks and they nodded. "Oh, I guess I do!"
"The simple pleasure that kids can grow into their passions and what defines them as adults. Their childhood dreams can be revived into the future and visions, never lose say of what you love and never believe that anything is impossible. As long as you have faith, you can't go wrong."
The boys look at each other, then they smiled.
"So that's what this place is called!" Steve said.
NiGHTS nodded again. "And now, let's get your Ideyas back and defeat the most-arch nemesis, Reala!"
Tony nodded and looks at his friends. "You guys got your Nerf guns ready?"
David and Steve pulled out their Nerf guns and loaded with Nerf darts.
"Here goes nothing!" Elliot said to himself.
NiGHTS raised his arm out to him and he placed his hand onto the jester's hand, then forms into NiGHTS.
"Now, it is time to fly!" NiGHTS said.
"C'mon boys, let's trash this dump!" Elliot said.
Tony and the boys nodded and gets ready for combat.
The boys saw the Nightmarens heading towards them as the boys started shooting while NiGHTS flew out of the palace.
"Kick it up a notch!" Tony screamed, shooting at the Kircles with Nerf darts.
"You wanna piece of me?!" Steve asks, shooting darts at the Gaos.
"Nobody messes with me!" David shouted at the Cuttles and he shoots it.
"Nice shot, David." Tony said and he nodded.
NiGHTS had collected enough blue chips and destroyed the first capsule.
"The White Ideya, we got it! Three more Ideyas, so we can defeat Reala!" Elliot said.
"Right, let's collect more!" NiGHTS said.
But as they were about to collect more chips, they noticed the magnets are started to pull slowly.
"NiGHTS, why are moving?" Elliot asks.
"It's the magnets, they're started to pull us, we gotta keep away from them!" NiGHTS told him.
"You're right, come on!"
NiGHTS and Elliot started to get away from the magnets until they're trapped in the magnet circle.
"Guys, a little help here?" NiGHTS asks.
The boys turned and saw them getting pulled in by the magnet.
"NiGHTS, why are you trapped?" Steve asks.
"It's the magnet, that's why!"
"But what can we do?" David asks.
"Well, find something to turn off this magnet!"
Tony then noticed that he saw a switch below the magnet. "Guys, I have an idea. I'm gonna use my Nerf gun to turn off the magnet!"
"Sounds like a plan!"
Tony aimed for the switch and shoots it with a Nerf dart, turning the magnet off and setting NiGHTS free.
"Thanks, guys!" NiGHTS called them.
"No problem!" David replies.
"Go get blue chips, we'll take care of those Nightmarens!" Tony said.
"You got it, Tony!" Elliot said.
The boys started to shoot the rest of the Nightmarens with their Nerf guns.
NiGHTS and Elliot had destroyed the second capsule when they had 20 blue chips.
"Yellow Ideya! We got one!" Elliot said.
"Two more to go!" NiGHTS said.
Tony and the boys are about to shoot the creatures with their Nerf guns, but they ran out of darts.
"Uh, guys? My nerf gun doesn't have darts!" Steve said.
"So do I!" David said.
"I guess we're doomed now," said Tony.
The Nightmarens are about to attack the boys when suddenly, NiGHTS drill-dashed into the Kircles and paraloops the Gaos & Cuttles, making them disappear.
"You saved our lives!" Tony said.
"Why, thanks." NiGHTS said.
"Next time, we better reload our ammo." Steve said and the boys laughed.
NiGHTS then flew over to the third capsule and destroys it with blue chips.
"Green Ideya! One more to go!" Steve said.
"But our Nerf guns had ran out of ammos!" David said.
"Don't worry, I have an idea. We'll take elevator and get onto the coaster thingy!" Tony said, pointing at the elevator and the catapult-coaster.
"There you go, Tony!" Steve said.
"Okay, I'll use my paraloops and my drill-dash to get rid of those creatures!" NiGHTS told them.
"You got it!" The boy said in agreement.
Tony and the others ran into the elevator and Steve pressed the button to make the elevator go up.
Once they made it to the top, David noticed that his Nerf gun was reloaded.
"Guys, I think my Nerf gun's reloaded!" David called out.
"Huh?" The boys questioned as they looked at their Nerf guns that is reloaded with ammo.
"How did this happened?" Tony asks.
"That's dreamy!" Steve said.
All of a sudden, they noticed that the Nightmaren are heading straight forwards them.
Tony got onto the front of the catapult-coaster and said… "Get on!"
Steve and David got onto the back of the coaster and it started to move.
"Guys, the coaster, it's moving!" Steve said.
"Hold on tight!" Tony said.
The coaster then slides down at the breakneck speed as the boys hang on.
"Woah!" The boys screamed.
"This is awesome! This is like a roller coaster ride!" Steve said.
"Yeah, but I think I'm gonna be sick," moaned David.
Suddenly, Tony noticed that the Cuttles and the Kircles are heading right for them.
"Guys, the Nightmarens are after us!" Tony called his friends.
Two boys looked at the creatures, then pulls out their Nerf guns and shoots at it.
"Bullseye!" David said.
"Nailed it!" Steve said.
Unfortunately, Tony saw the Nightmarens heading straight for him.
"Guys! A little help here!" Tony called his friends again.
David & Steve saw the creatures and shoots them away.
"Thanks, boys!" Tony said.
Unluckily for them, they saw a bump at the end of the track.
"Guys! The track's end!" David said.
"What?" The boy questioned and David points at it.
"Oh boy," Steve said as his eyes widened.
"Hang on!" Tony said.
The coaster hit a bump and the boys were sent flying into the air and landed on their backs.
NiGHTS flew down to them. "Are you boys okay?"
"Y-yeah… we're okay." Tony moaned.
"But that was awesome!" Steve said.
"Also, our Nerf guns had been reloaded." David said.
"Good for you. C'mon, let's open the last capsule!"
The boys followed NiGHTS to the last capsule where the blue Ideya was held.
"Alright, you boys ready to fight Reala?" NiGHTS asks them.
The boys nodded. "We're ready!"
"Okay, let's destroy the capsule and get ready to fight him!"
NiGHTS flew into the last capsule and destroys it, retrieving the final Ideya. Just then, a rapid glow surrounds them and takes them to see Reala.
When they got there, they find Reala sitting on his red throne at the center and three torches with blue fire.
"Ah, hello NiGHTS, welcome to my dark realm." Reala introduces them.
"So, you think you can trapped me in the dome, huh?" NiGHTS questioned.
"Yes, that's because you always win!"
Tony and the boys looked at the red & black jester.
"Not if we can win!" Tony said.
He and the boys pulled out their Nerf guns at them and Reala smirked.
"Oh, but you can't!" Reala said, he uses his power to make their Nerf guns destroyed.
"Hey! Our Nerf guns!" David said.
"We've been using to fight the Nightmarens!" Steve said.
"Yes… and now, it's time for a better game of… fighting!" He shouted.
NiGHTS flew behind the boys and looks at him. "You don't even think about getting me trapped in the palace again!"
"Oh, then make me, NiGHTS. Watcha gonna do? Defeat me?" Reala asks, then laughs.
NiGHTS raised his eyebrow and looks at their friends.
"You can do it, NiGHTS." Tony said.
"Yeah, you don't have to give up." Steve said.
"Yeah, believe in yourself!" Elliot said.
NiGHTS took a deep breath and looks at him.
"I think you're right, I accept this challenge!" NiGHTS told Reala.
"Then it's settled!" Reala announced.
"Alright… let's start another round!"
The boys stood back as NiGHTS began to prepare their fight with Reala.
"Ready?" Reala asks.
"I'm always ready, let's do this!"
NiGHTS then flew away from the dark jester and he began to chase them.
"NiGHTS, he's following us!" Elliot said.
"Don't worry, I got an idea to defeat him." NiGHTS told him.
"You do? Really?"
"Yeah, i'll paraloop around him and he will be tossed into the torches."
"Great idea! Let's bite him!"
NiGHTS began to paraloop and Reala was concerned when they're about to defeat him.
"Hey! What are you— AYE!" Reala screamed as he gets thrown into the first torchlight.
"Yeah, first try!" NiGHTS said.
"It's not, that's cheating!" Reala complained.
"Well, it's my powers you know, I can drill-dash & paraloop if I want."
"Oh yeah? Well I can use my powers to destroy you once and for all!"
Elliot was very disappointed. "Reala has powers, too?"
"I'm afraid so, Elliot." NiGHTS answered.
"Another round, another game!" Reala announced.
"You can't win, but I'll win, that's for sure!" NiGHTS replied.
Reala nodded. "Then we fight!"
NiGHTS and Reala began to race around the center as the boys watched them.
"Go NiGHTS!" Steve said.
"Yeah, beat him!" Tony said.
NiGHTS turned and saw Reala drill-dashing into them.
"Since when did he learned how to drill-dash?" Elliot questioned.
"I had no idea, but we'll defeated him with my drill-dash!" NiGHTS said, then he started to drill-dash away from him.
"Hey! You're cheating again!" Reala called.
Reala began to drill-dash to catch up with NiGHTS as he began to paraloop him. "Not again!"
Reala was sent flying into the second torchlight.
"Score!" Elliot shouted.
"You can't fly, but you can't defeat me! I'll destroy you and your friends to become slaves!" Reala shouted.
"Slaves?! You will never make us slaves! You are!" NiGHTS shouted back.
"Then it's on! The final round! Let's fly…"
Reala and NiGHTS began to combat each other while the boys looked at each other in confused.
"Do you think NiGHTS can win?" David asks Tony.
"Of course they can, a flying jester always wins, David." Tony replies.
"Oh yeah."
NiGHTS began to paraloop around Reala, but he used drill-dash and the purple jester missed it.
"What the?" NiGHTS asks.
"Ha! You missed it, I guess that's cheating, huh?" Reala asked.
NiGHTS gritted their shark-toothed teeth and tries to drill-dash him, but he zoomed upwards and they'd missed it again.
"Seriously!" NiGHTS complained.
"Now for my final power, I'm gonna destroy you with my paraloop!" Reala said, he begins NiGHTS closed their eyes and takes a deep breath, then saids with a smile. "Reala, you're gonna win this game… but I can't lose… TO YOU!"
NiGHTS began to drill-dash and the both of them were sent flying.
"Wow! How does he do that?" Steve asks.
Reala groaned and looks at them. "NiGHTS, what is wrong with you? Why did you hurt me with your drill-dash?"
NiGHTS placed their hand onto the red diamond. "Because we have the courage to defeat our enemies… and you're gonna lose this challenge… RIGHT NOW!"
They began to drill-dash and sent him flying into the third torchlight.
Reala screamed as he began to fall. "AAH! I'LL GET YOU, NIGHTS!"
"Take cover, boys!" NiGHTS called out.
The boys covered their eyes with their hands when Reala started to explode, and everything turns white.
When the boys uncovered their eyes, they realized that they're back at the canyon.
"What just happened?" David asks.
"But where's NiGHTS?" Steve asks.
The boys looked at Elliot as he walked up to them.
"Looks like he's gone again." Elliot said.
"But we defeated him," said Tony.
"Reala, right?"
"Yes we did, we won!"
Just then, King Pian appeared in front of them while the other Nightopians began playing their trumpets in victory.
"Well done, boys. You've defeated Reala and saved the final Nightopia!" King Pian told them.
"Yeah, but we challenged him to a game of flying around." Elliot said.
"So what can we do now?" Tony asks.
"You will head into the portal and you'll find yourself in a place called… the Dream Gate."
"Dream Gate?" The boys asked.
"Yeah. By the way, there's someone else who is waiting for you."
Tony and the boys looked at each other and whispers.
"Someone else? That's means our friends will be there!" Tony whispered.
"Yeah, so we can reunite with them!" Steve whispered.
"Do you thinks NiGHTS will be okay?" David whispered.
"Yeah, but I think we're gonna find out." Tony whispers back.
The boys then looked back at the Nightopians.
"So Pian, where can we find the Dream Gate?" Elliot asks.
The fairy king snapped his fingers and the white portal appears behind them.
"Enter and you will find yourselves in the Dream Gate. Don't forget, I will meet you there." King Pian said.
"Okay, see you there!" David said.
King Pian and the fairies then got onto the catapult coaster and begins to move again.
"Come on, let's head over to the dream gate!" Elliot said to his friends.
They hold hands as they began to enter the portal, then it closes.
Meanwhile, Wizeman was looking at the crystal ball to see Elliot and the boys, walking through the portal.
"I don't believe it, they've defeated my henchmen! Reala and Jackle had been defeated! Guess I'm gonna have to defeat NiGHTS and the dreamers… on my own." Wizeman said, then he does an evil laugh.
