PREFACE
This is not a memoir. Although I will occasionally interject myself into the events that involved me directly or if I think the reader would find it elucidating to hear from my personal experience, this volume is not primarily a personal narrative about my experiences in the war. This is, as far as anything could strive to be, a complete account of the general causes, approximate motivations, events, and notable people of the Wars of Treize Khusrenada and Milliardo Peacecraft, better known as the Eve War.
Despite being a combatant in the conflict and while being intimately familiar the leaders of the warring parties, I nevertheless have composed this history based primarily off of primary source research, including but not limited to, interviews with survivors, official comiques, personal correspondences, official military reports, quantitative and statistical analysis, and archeological research.
It may come as a surprise to some that while I do not share in Relena Peacecraft's stubborn and admirable belief in the tenets of Total Pacifism, I wholeheartedly agree with her belief that war is a blight upon the human race and there is nothing more detestable in the universe than its infinite capacity for carnage and destruction. My primary hope for this work is that it will be a simple reminder of that to future generations.
