Chapter 11
Set in Motion
The following day the plan was ready to commence and everyone knew their roles.
Weiss was currently walking down a runway with Jaune's sister walking near her while holding her child, while Caroline was in front of Weiss leading her while her two goons were behind all of them.
Caroline was praising how happy she was that Weiss was returning to Atlas.
"It was time to get my act together and go back to my roots"
"Oh I can't wait to see you follow in your sister's footsteps."
"Absolutely."
Weiss said with a forced smile.
"Im sending two of my best guards to personally escort you. Make sure General Ironwood
Caroline began to walk away and the goons tried to help Weiss with her bags.
As this happened Jaune's sister felt something pull on her finger, a light tug.
"Just like we practiced."
She said to the toddler she was holding.
Said Toddler began crying, distracting the guards allowing Weiss to take her bag onto the ship.
Several footsteps were heard behind her but no one was seen.
"Is everything ok?"
Weiss heard Ruby ask while her suitcase shook a bit.
"We're on board."
She felt something tug on her finger.
"All of us."
Last Night…
After the plan was explained Shade looked at his team.
"So leader, what's our roles?"
Hiroki questioned..
Shade looked at Dawn first.
"What are the chances of you being able to get on the ship undetected?"
"I sneak into nearly anything, especially with my strings."
Shade glanced at Circa.
"What about with someone else?"
"Won't work as well, i've tried sneaking with a group before, almost all of us were caught almost immediately."
'Well there goes that plan.'
Shade thought to himself.
He closed his eyes for a few moments.
"Alright so here's what we're going to do"
He turned to Dawn again.
"You'll sneak onto the ship hidden under your strings and if anything seems off from your angle you'll use your strings to create a stubble signal and to let Weiss know you're on the ship."
Present Time…
Shade Hiroki and Circa were currently with a group that consisted of Qrow,Ruby,Oscar and JNR.
"Alright we'll all watch our scrolls,the second Weiss is out of range of the comm tower when they're out of range of the radar too."
Ruby said to everyone.
Shade nods at Hiroki while Circa just pouts.
Last night…
Shade looked towards Hiroki.
"You have an important role in this, first is to get Circa on the ship as fast as you can."
"Wait what?"
Circa questioned.
"You're the fastest in the air and can protect any incoming attacks in case things go wrong or if Grimm attacks."
Hiroki nodded.
Shade as a leader knew what his team could do and where their skills would be at their best.
"Wait, I didn't agree to this!"
Circa shook her head.
"Circa."
Shade knelt down to her height level.
"This is the smartest and fastest way to get you to safety."
"But I can help."
Shade sighed.
"Not yet."
He stood up
"I promise when I have time I will train you but for now we have to play this safe, understand?"
Circa frowned but nodded at Shade.
Present time…
In the forest Erika was following Blake and Yang using trees to keep up with them.
Erika was smiling as she did, liking her way of travel.
Last Night…
Shade turns to Erika.
"Blake and Yang we'll be faster than you but as they're traveling you should be able to keep up with little issue."
"Yeah I've traveled across trees before,pretty quick when you know what you're doing."
Erika chuckled a bit.
"Which is why you'll be their back up. I don't doubt their skills but I do doubt there won't be trouble in some way. Especially with everything that's happened the past few months."
Erika nods.
"I got it."
Present Time…
Yang stopped driving and Blake got off the bike.
Erika caught up but remained in the trees.
"Sure i shouldnt come?"
Yang questioned.
"More intruders means more likely to be seen besides stealth isn't exactly your"
Blake turned towards Yang who crossed her arms.
Erika couldn't help but laugh, causing her to fall from the tree she was standing on.
She quickly grew a seed she had and was hanging upside down from a tree.
Blake and Yang looked at her.
"Uhh sorry."
The vine snapped and she fell on the ground.
"I'm ok!"
Yang and Blake looked at each other.
"Go."
Yang said.
Blake nodded and started running.
Erika got up and jumped back onto the tree she was on before and began moving again.
Back with Shade and co….
Jaune was happy his plan was working.
Shade just crossed his arms.
"Let's not tempt fate buddy."
Shade said calmly.
Ruby looked at Qrow who didn't look happy about any of this.
"This is going to work."
Oscar said to Ruby.
The two looked to the Argus Base.
"Cmon Dawn."
Shade said to himself with a slight worry about her getting caught.
On the airship..
Dawn remained hidden watching her scroll as the signals of her teammates started to disappear.
The moment the signals were gone she dropped her strings and nodded at Weiss.
They went into the cockpit of the ship.
Dawn put the pilot in a sleeper hold making the co-pilot react.
"What the?! Where did you come fr-"
The co-pilot was interrupted by Weiss attacking.
Both of them were tied up in a parachute and tossed them out of the ship.
Dawn stretched a bit.
"The amount of stillness it takes to not be seen is annoying sometimes."
Maria approached the cockpit.
"Imagine being stuck in a freaking suitcase."
She took her seat in the pilot's chair.
"And you're sure you can fly this?"
Weiss questioned before sitting in the opposite seat leaving Dawn standing.
"I was the Grimm Reaper,what part of best huntress of her generation don't you understand?"
Dawn looked at Maria then at Weiss as Maria put a piece of the ship and attached it to her prosthetic eyes.
"Let's just let her do her thing, not like any of us know how to fly."
"I guess that's true."
Weiss said with a slightly worried look.
The group waiting for them saw Weiss and Dawn's signal disappear.
Circa looked at the team leader's holding their scrolls.
"Can I have one of those?"
She asked Shade.
"If we get to Atlas I'll make sure to get you one."
Ruby tried to contact Blake but got no response.
"Erika, can you hear me?"
Shade tried to contact her but nothing.
Hiroki attempted the same but got nothing.
"I don't like this."
Shade said to Hiroki.
Hiroki looked in the direction of the comm tower.
Weiss and Dawn's scroll signals started to return.
"Hiroki go."
Shade told him.
He turned to his leader.
"Plan B"
Last Night..
Shade stood between his teammates.
"If something goes wrong on either of your tasks"
He looks at Dawn then at Erika.
"Hiroki or I will try to assist."
Present Time…
Argus command was trying to figure out why the ship was returning to the mainland
Caroline found out Maria was piloting the ship and shouted.
Dawn shook her head and readied her weapon.
"Let's be ready for a fight."
"Ruby, we're in trouble."
Weiss contacted her Team Leader.
"They're onto us and Maria isn't helping, why is the radar still up?"
"We don't know."
Ruby responds.
"Dawn, what's your status?"
Shade contacted her.
"I'm guessing, we're going to have trouble soon."
Shade looked at everyone then down at Circa.
"Stay close to me and be ready to run."
Qrow spoke next.
"We got maybe ninety seconds before they're all over those three."
He closed his eyes.
"This is all my fault."
"Qrow this has nothing to do with you or your semblance."
Shade approached Qrow.
"What are you-"
"Misfortune doesn't always have to come from your semblance, bad things happen that's life and like with everything else that has happened to us we will move on and keep pushing forward."
Last night…
"Alright we do what we can, we push, we survive and we will win."
Shade looked at his teammates then down at Circa before looking up.
Shade was looking at the ocean.
"No matter what."
Before anything else Dawn spoke to Shade.
"I think we're going to need all the help we can get, Shade."
Everyone heard large mechanical sounds.
The group turned and saw a giant robot being piloted by Caroline
It began charging an electric cannon arm and it shot the ship.
"And that was merely a warning shot!"
Caroline shouted as the ship sparked a bit.
"All Atlas personnel stand by and watch how your leader maintains order!"
Both the ship and the robot were getting closer to the group.
"Do you truly wish to defy me?!"
Caroline shouted.
Shade glared at the robot.
"I"
He readied his gauntlets.
"Hate"
He pulled his two blades out.
"Atlas."
As this was happening.
Erika was jumping between trees dodging slashes of dust destroying the terrain.
She landed on the ground and looked at her pursuer.
Her brother Shin.
"You really think you can defy him and expect to get away with it?"
He said while holding the large blade.
"Shin, you need to stop this, why can't you recognize me?!"
That was all she said before another slash was heading straight for her.
AN:Life is exhausting, but I'm trying my best to wrap up the remaining chapter of Volume Six as quickly as I can. For now though this is the beginning of the end of this Volume. I really wanted to try and show off the amount of strategy Shade had for this plan while also showing why he's a leader of his team. But anyway as I'm writing this I'm currently working on the next chapter. I'm putting everything I have and trying to get these all out within a reasonable time span. Until next time.
