'Thank you for letting me come over Mrs. Malfoy.' Hermione said as she stepped into the large foyer.

'Oh, no problem at all. Truth be told it will be nice to have a visitor. And please call me Narcissa.' as she led Hermione into the library. 'So, what can I do for you?' As Hermione circled in place to look at all of the books, she took in a deep breath, the smell of the old tomes.

'Oh yes, sorry, the smell of old books…' she smiled. 'Yes, I was told you might be able to help me with this…' as she placed the scroll on the nearest table.

'Oh, a family tree?' as Narcissa started to study it.

'Yes, I have a Wendelin Black, here ...' as she pointed to the far corner. 'I didn't know if that might be a relation or is this the Wendelin the Weird we read about in History of Magic class?'

'Well… both. We normally don't talk about that line but yes that is my' trying to count. '…cousin. She married a squib, and we lost track of her. So yes, we are related.'

'Who are we related to now?' Draco drawled as he entered the room. 'Oh, sorry mother I forgot you had company.' He bowed his head to his mother. 'Oh, Granger it's you?'

'Draco please, Hermione here had some questions about this family tree and wanted my advice.' As she turned the paper so Draco could read it and pointed to Wendelin Black on the tree.'

'Is that crazy Wendy the weird the umpteenth cousin?' as Narcissa nodded, and Draco continued to study the paper. 'Oh, so you're my cousin?'

'Yup, looks like it.' Hermione grinned.

'Oh, so now father can't say anything about me dating you now.' Draco smiled.

'What?' Hermione sputtered. 'Date me? Why would you want to date me? I'm a mud…' Draco interrupted her.

'Nope not a mudblood proof is right here.' as he pointed to the paper.

'But why me… Draco? You hate me and have since the first year.' Hermione sputtered again.

'NO, I was just jealous, better in grades, got a sharp right hook.' as his hand found his chin. 'And you looked absolutely beautiful at the yule ball I was mad I couldn't ask you to go. But… with this father can't say a word against it.' Draco smiled.

'But your father hates me…' Hermione grimaced.

'No, not hate just … confused that a mu…muggleborn witch was better than a pureblood Malfoy wizard.' Narcissa spoke. 'But Draco she has an intended. You will not interfere with that.' Narcissa claimed.

'Intended?' Hermione asked.

'Are you not engaged to the Weasel?' Draco sneered.

'Merlins no. He ran when things got too difficult, he thinks I should stay home and raise his spawn and keep house.' She huffed. 'And I will not marry a cheater. I have plans, I was asked to get my masters in transfiguration and I will replace Minerva at Hogwarts, this next school year.'

'Do you still want a family at some point?' Narcissa asked.

'Yes, at some point in the future or at least I hope to if I can find the right man that will respect me and my dreams.' Hermione missed the look Narcissa gave Draco. 'Well then maybe you two could keep each other company until you each find suitable matches.'

'Company?' Hermione asked.

'Yes, Draco was also offered a teaching position, in the potions classroom.' Narcissa smiled as she mentally planned a wedding.
