This is Part II of the 45th Story Special. Last time, Darkblood and Enchantress realized Blaze and company were speaking with Dick Grayson in Nanda Parbat. So they decided to take the newly created Armageddon out for a practical trial. Meanwhile, Blaze and co learned they need twelve seemingly cryptic items, of which Dick could only remember five, including Black Adam's living lightning. And all of them would allow "That Which Was Always There" to work and free Dragnarok from Darkblood. But before they could learn what that even is, Nanda Parbat came under attack and everybody rushed out to stop it. So, what awaits? Read on to discover...
(Our scene picks up outside the main building of Nanda Parbat, where Blaze and company have just arrived to aid in the sacred ground's defense against a supposed "rock creature" And sure enough, we see exactly what it is. It's Armageddon, carrying Darkblood and Enchantress in one of it's hands)
Harley Quinn: What the hell is that?!
Blaze: Exactly what I was afraid of, Harley. Darkblood's got a Golem now.
Red Hood: Golem? Like that thing his parents killed?
Blaze: Exactly. Though this thing's got a lot more Dark Gems than the last one.
Deathstroke: That's not all the thing's got. It reeks of fish. Is that all those things eat?
Blaze: From what I know, Golems don't need to eat. They can be fully sustained off their Dark Gems. (Thinks about it, then comes to a grim realization) I think I just found out what Darkblood did with Aquaman's corpse.
Batman: (Figuring it out at the same time) He turned Aquaman into that thing.
Blaze: Exactly. Probably using his own trident.
Darkblood: Correction, my little dreamsicle. It's my trident now. So, what do you think of my little pet here?
Blaze: It's an abomination is what it is! I'm no fan of Aquaman's but I wouldn't have done this to him!
Darkblood: Admit it, deep down your impressed. But, enough of the friendly chit chat. There's a reason you came here, and it's something I cannot allow you to do.
Dick Grayson and Batman: (In unison) How dare you defile this sacred ground!
Darkblood: I see the sorcerer is hosting the Deadman. (Looking to Batman) And that the apple doesn't fall far from the spliced tree. Not like it matters, but it's good to see.
Blaze: If you think you can stop us, you're madder than I thought.
Darkblood: Oh, but I will stop you. Armageddon, attack!
(And with that, Armageddon springs to life, attacking any of the monks who get in it's way. But thankfully those who reside in Nanda Parbat are also skilled fighters and start fighting back against the Golem, while Darkblood and Enchantress leap down from it's hand and start fighting them off as well)
Blaze: (To her team) Bruce, take the others and start handling the Golem, Dick and I will take on Darkblood and Enchantress.
(Batman is hesitant to agree to the solution, but ultimately relents, taking the rest of the team to fight Armageddon while Blaze and Dick Grayson, still in John Constantine's body, prepare to double team Darkblood and Enchantress)
Blaze: You up to this?
Dick Grayson: I admit, John's body isn't what I'm used to, but I think I can make it work.
Blaze: Then let's get moving.
(And with that, the double team matchup begins. Dick Grayson uses what limited acrobatic ability he has from John Constantine's body to dodge Enchantress' eldritch blasts while Blaze clashes with Darkblood and his new trident. And unfortunately, the battle doesn't go well. The Dark Gems that make up the entirety of Armageddon's body empower Darkblood while simultaneously depowering Blaze, and soon enough, he has her on the ropes. But that's when Dick Grayson gets an idea that's either bold or incredibly stupid. He jumps out of John Constantine's body, and into Darkblood's)
John Constantine: (Seeing everything that's going on) Bugger me! What the hell happened here?
Blaze: We'll catch you up later John. What happened to Dick?
(John Constantine can only point out Darkblood, who is trying to fight off Dick Grayson's influence. And thanks to Armageddon's presence, it's actually a pretty neutral fight. That is, until Enchantress notices and decides to do something about it)
Enchantress: An old trick of Tala's should put a stop to this.
(With that, Enchantress casts her sickly green magic into a pair of arc shapes)
Enchantress: By the power of the darkest magic, I cast you out of this place, spirit! Descend to the pit from whence thou camest!
(Casting the arcs towards Darkblood, Enchantress' spell forces Dick Grayson out of him, binding the new Deadman in the arcs which pull him deep into the ground, taking him out of the equation)
Darkblood: (Weakly) What happened?
Enchantress: The Deadman tried to possess you. Not to worry, my love, he won't bother you again.
Blaze: (Having seen all of it) What did you do to him?!
John Constantine: She's done the impossible. She sent the Deadman to Hell!
Enchantress: Where he'll never be able to help you. (To Darkblood) Come, my husband, let us take our leave. (To Armageddon) Armageddon! We're leaving.
(Heeding his mistress' command, Armageddon scoops up Enchantress and Darkblood and then stomps back off into the mountains towards the Nameless City, leaving everyone else to figure out what just happened as the scene ends)
This concludes Part II of the 45th Story Special. For the Finale, head on over to Ashes of Midnight. Well if this isn't a sticky wicket to be up against, I don't know what is. Dick Grayson is now stuck in Hell, and can't finish his conversation earlier. I doubt Batman is going to take this well. But how badly is not taking this well? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
