When trust is questioned
Chapter 20
Two weeks later, everyone in the Bower household has calmed down a little.
It took Angela a few attempts to get back to work at the agency.
In the meantime, however, she is more confident and works there again, but she doesn't go to work alone either, Mona and Tony take care of it. Both try to make Angela as comfortable as possible, so that she doesn't feel constricted or controlled, but just safe.
7 o'clock in the morning.
Angela is just getting ready for work, since it is quite warm, she puts on a flowered summer dress and puts her hair up at the sides. She puts on her makeup and goes down to the kitchen.
"Good morning everyone," she says. Mona is sitting at the table, Tony is serving her pancakes.
"Hey Angela, good morning" he winks at her. "Would you like some breakfast?"
Angela sits down at the table "ok today a pancake with my juice and coffee". She smiles.
Tony serves her a pancake and whispers in her ear, "you look incredibly pretty today" and gives her a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Tony" she says shyly, grinning slightly.
Tony nods. Mona looks at the two of them "oh you two...so cute" she eats her pancake. "Angela today is the meeting with DEVINE, but I have to leave in between, but that shouldn't be a problem, when you're done with the meeting, I'll be right back".
"No problem mother".
Tony looks at Mona worriedly "but don't stay away too much, do you hear Mona"!
"Tony, don't worry about me, I'm not alone, and at some point I'll have to manage on my own again, no one can take care of me for the rest of my life, nothing has happened for two weeks now. Mister DEVINE and his partner are with me, everything is going wonderfully, believe me!"
Tony rolls his eyes slightly, "...if you say so..."
In the agency
The meeting is in full swing, there is a knock on the door, Mona briefly pokes her head through the door "Angela, I'll be back in about half an hour..."
Angela nods at her "is good mother".
Time flies quickly, the meeting went well, and everyone finished earlier than expected. Angela politely bids her clients farewell. She goes back to her office, opens a window and breathes in the warm summer air. ...now I need a coffee...
She walks out of the room to the coffee machine, but the coffee is empty. The coffee powder in the can is also completely used up.
„super…" she says ironically.
She grabs her bag and key (they had the locks replaced after the incident) and goes downstairs.
"Then just a fresh coffee from the small café on the other side of the street" she shrugs her shoulders, wants to cross the street just when someone grabs her by the arm.
He pulls her into the side alley and presses her hard against the stone wall.
"So you bitch putting the police on me, even though I didn't do anything you didn't want to."
"ROGER!" Angela freezes. Her heart beats up to her chest and fear overcomes her again.
"YES! Angela, your old friend Roger, I hope you're happy to see me! Do you think that you can get away with me so easily, that you can ruin my life, that you will have it so easily?! I keep coming back!"
„Let me go!" Angela says in a trembling voice.
He squeezes her by the arm and tries to kiss her "Don't touch me!"
She pushes him away with her hand, suddenly he grabs her by her neck. Then he forces a kiss on her.
"Now watch out, I'll take what I'm entitled to, I'll show you that I'm better than Tony, much better! Don't act like that, you know you want me, you're going to enjoy it, don't fight back or something worse will happen!"
He pulls a knife out of his pocket and holds it to her throat "better join in and shut up!"
Angela is in a state of shock and unbelievable fear. ...Oh God, I don't want to die... it goes through her head. She closes her eyes and tears run down her face. She's scared to death.
Roger goes with his hand under her dress. He starts kissing her neck, then her mouth again. Insistent and demanding, he proceeds very brutally.
The other hand with the knife wanders down to her belly.
"Now let's see what's under the pretty dress..."
"NOOO!" she screams loudly.
Someone grabs Roger from behind and pulls him to the ground. Angela slumps to the ground.
Tony sits on Roger's back, holding his hands behind his back.
"You bastard, you're going to pay for it this time!" yells Tony.
Mona, who has just returned, sees all this and runs to them, she sees Angela lying on the floor, hunched over and holding her hands in front of her belly.
"Angela?" she shouts frightened and rushes to her, she is just about to help her up, when suddenly she has blood on her hands, "Tony!" shouds Mona.
Tony, still busy keeping Roger in the shaft, looks over at them and immediately notices that something is wrong.
The blood flows, the knife sticks into Angela's belly on the side.
„Oh my gosh, Angela!" .
"Mona, call an ambulance and the police, hurry up!"
With a powerful blow, Tony misses Roger a knockout blow. And hurries to Angela "Oh god Angela...Angela says something...ANGELA?"
In the background you can hear the police and ambulances sirening, Angela loses consciousness...
