Squeaked this one in before the end of the new year, didn't I? Happy New Year to all and a late happy assorted holidays for everyone!
Sorry for slow updates, this is largely a hobby of mine and I find I sometimes don't have the time or energy to write in a frenzy. Still I give it all that I can and I hope you enjoy nonetheless.
Gotta run…can't stop…if I stop…I'm dead!
I jumped over a large root as I continued my sprint through the jungle. I scanned the treetops for any movement. The red shape that bounced off a limb caused me to pump my legs even fast.
"Cutiefly! Intercept!" I shouted and my blonde fairy heeded my call. She launched a Silver Wind that intercepted the bouncing Pokegirl.
"CUTIEFLY!" She shouted as I kept running on. Her sacrifice would not be in vain!
Knees to chest! Knees to chest! I shouted at myself as the jungle raced past. The trees thinned until I hit the flower field I usually passed through with Cutiefly. She didn't even get her favorite breakfast this morning!
A shadow passed over and another passed through the water at high speeds. I pulled 2 Pokeballs ready to defend from the 2 fronts only for the water threat to be intercepted by another shadow. That's convenient! I thought with happiness.
The sky threat still made herself known. The sound of flapping wings meant I still needed to react. I spun on my heel to pass by the diving purple Pokegirl and released Vulpix. Thankfully the girls were on top of their game today and Vulpix was definitely no slouch.
I raced away from the growing cold front as I desperately approached the other end of the field. I knew if I made it to the other section of forest I could disappear for a couple hours. I should have been paying more attention.
Pancham released herself from her pokeball. She quickly surrounded her foot with glowing orange energy.
"Pancham!" She cried as she kicked the falling bombshell. I panicked as I now had to run from the brawl that started from the panda girl and her armored foe.
GIRLS! I'M SORRY! YOU'RE THE BEST FAMILY I COULD HAVE ASKED FOR! I thought with tears in my eyes. I was close to the tree line. I promise you'll be remembered! I won't let it be the end!
I was 10 feet from the first tree when she landed. I skid to a stop from the dust that had been kicked up from impact. She rose to her full height and spread her wings to make herself even bigger. I shielded my eyes from the heat radiating from her tail as she lowered herself in a fighting stance.
"Char~" Charizard called across from me. Her eyes held a challenge, daring me to try and get past her.
"Well that's just not fair." I deadpanned at the elder Pokegirl. She giggled slightly before crossing the distance. She picked me up by my armpits and lifted me to eye height.
"Char!" She cheered as she gave me a little kiss on the nose. I blushed at her brazen actions.
"Alright alright. You win. Just take me back before you break more of my pride." I said. A large explosion drew my attention. It seems that Vulpix and Pancham had crossed their fights and amped up the action. It seems even at a type disadvantage, an energy on energy attack with Vulpix would result in a large explosion.
Pancham and Vulpix were still standing, although Pancham had a few new shiny burns. On the other side, Turtonator had a few spiderweb cracks in her shell and bruises up and down her legs. Zubat was partially frosted over and was clearly fainted.
"Yeah we should break them up…" I said. I could physically feel the sweatdrop on the back of my head. Charizard nodded and set me down. She took a deep breath before roaring so loud the sound wave knocked Pancham over. Turtonator snapped her head up into the sky to let a pillar of flame dissipate harmlessly. Vulpix let her energy dissipate harmlessly, the frost that had been growing around her stopping its trek across the grass. Charizard nodded at her display of power being taken seriously. She pulled 2 pokeballs from her harness and held it out to me. I was confused at first before she nodded to Turtonator and Zubat. I recalled all the Pokegirls before I was suddenly swept off my feet by the larger dragon woman.
"I don't like how this makes me feel…" I pouted as Charizard giggled at me. A powerful beat of her wings had us flying over the flower field. It was hardly a minute before we touched down in front of my hunters. I did have to do a double take.
"Cutiefly! How could you surrender to the enemy so quickly!?" I raged as she had the audacity to giggle from Mallow's shoulder. The belly laugh that came from Bounsweet didn't help. I blew a hair out of my face as the humans laughed at me.
"I don't know why you ran. You already said you'd come to tour the School today." Mallow smiled.
"It was an impressive run." Lana complimented and Lillie and Kiawe nodded in agreement.
"Thank you, and I just wanna say," I pointed to the Flame Pokegirl who still hadn't let me down from her princess carry of me, "releasing this one is cheating." I was pulled from my comfortable spot in her arms by my goddamn ear!
"I don't care! How dare you just leave me behind!" Rapp pulled me closer to the group in a rage.
"Ow, Ow, Ow! I said to scatter! It's not my, OW, fault you didn't understand!" The look on her face told me that didn't help my case. She just held her hand out and I passed her Zubat's Pokeball. I tossed Kiawe his before turning to Mallow.
"Alright, fine. You got me. Let's go see the school." Mallow cheered and started to lead our group before Lana spoke up.
"Hey wait…where's Popplio?" She asked me and I blinked.
"I never saw her. Would she have even been able to keep up?" I asked in a half serious manner. No legs tended to hinder a mad escape attempt.
"She took the creek." She pointed to the nearby creek. About the same time a blue hand broke the water. We watched as an exhausted Popplio dragged herself up on the bank. Lana ran up to Popplio to support her near-fainted Pokegirl.
"Popplio! Are you okay?! Did you get attacked?! I'll get Michael to beat them up!" "Oi"
"She doesn't seem like she's taken any damage though." Lillie observed. "Do you know if anything lives in the creek that could exhaust Popplio?" She asked me.
"Well there's the Poliwags and their older sister Poliwhirl." I put a hand to my chin. "I don't think it was them, Popplio would be a lot more bruised if it was…."
"Maybe something fast that she had to run from?" Kiawe offered.
"Only other thing near here I know of is a Magikarp." I pointed out and Popplio shivered. The seal girl quickly reached out and returned herself to the safety of her pokeball.
We stood around for a bit in stunned shock before Mallow clapped her hands.
"Well now that that's settled! Come on, let's go!" We cheered, with Rapp being less than enthusiastic in hers, and followed behind the chef in training.
I couldn't help but notice I was placed in the center of the group and I sighed.
"Should have chosen a better time to escape…"
I will admit the Pokegirl School was impressive. The anime didn't do justice to how big the entire thing was. There were 5 stories imposing itself on the horizon. I could see a couple open pathways and classrooms balconies where students would no doubt be bustling and heard during the year. At the very peak a large bell tower with a shining brass bell capped off the center of learning. I could squint and see a bear like Pokegirl with pale blue fur sleeping on the railing next to it.
The courtyard alone was a massive field large enough to have an entire soccer pitch, football field and baseball diamond all at the same time and have some space for a picnic leftover. Only it was covered in various battlefields all designed to challenge the Trainers and their Pokegirls. Ice fields, rocky pitches, even a pond with stationary pillars would make for extremely different battles. I could feel myself fingering my pokeballs wanting to drag Kiawe over to one of them.
The field wasn't the only thing in front of the school, it was surrounded by a large track for Tauros racing. At the right side a large stable more than likely holding the racing Pokegirls. Outside there were minotaur-like Pokegirls laid in the sun, their muscles torsos gleaming in sunlight. To the left a lazy man-made river flowed from behind the school and over the cliff towards the sea. On its bank was a Pokegirl that made me double take.
It was the first time I saw an Alolan Exeggutor and it was an experience. Thankfully it wasn't a short torso with a massive neck with a head 10ft in the air. Instead they were veritable giants. Their long, bark covered legs made most of their 17' height but it was proportional to the rest of their bodies. The bark ended at their hips and shoulders leaving their torso on display with soft skin with a variety of breast sized but none lower than D cups. They also only had one peaceful face thankfully and their hair was similar to the Pokemon base. The long palm leaves reach for the sky absorbing sunlight as they bask.
Mallow got my attention, "First time seeing a Tree Pokegirl?" She asked and I nodded. "Yeah, they're impressive. Those girls were here when my dad went to school here. Apparently there's some Trevanats in Kalos that are so old they're bigger than them!"
"Wait, do all Tree Pokegirls live that long?" I asked and Lillie nodded.
"Yes, they do. They're some of the Pokegirls that live the longest if you discount Rock and Steel Types." She answered.
"Correct!" Rotom chimed from my pocket before floating out. "Steel and Rock types will live for generations with the right amount of care and tree Pokegirls aren't far behind!"
"See you're already learning cool stuff!" Mallow said happily.
"Yeah but Rotom could have told me that at any time." I pointed out and felt a little bad when she deflated slightly.
"Well…yeah. But! There's so much to do! Like Tauros racing!"
"Fascinating lectures." Lillie added.
"Regular battles and training." Kiawe said, pointing to the battlefields.
"Pokegirl care lessons, all hands on." Lana said with a lewd dreamy expression.
"The music club was pretty hot when I was here." Rapp begrudgingly admitted.
I grimaced as all that did sound great. I mean it would be amazing to hang out with all of them but I had no idea how I would even sign up for the school, let alone pay for tuition. I was about to temper their expectations when a scoff drew our attention.
"As if he could make it at such a prestigious school like ours!" The snide voice of Damian interrupted our days as he and his lackeys approached. "I don't think he could even tell a Pidgey from a Geodude." He and his lackeys laugh at their leader's horrible sense of humor.
"Know enough to lay the smack down on you with a type disadvantage." Rapp smirked and giggles from our side started. I grinned as I saw the tick on his forehead. Maybe we will get to use those fields after all.
"That was a fluke. There's no way that little bitch could be that strong." He sneered.
"Oh of course she is. Do I need to give you a reminder? Maybe this time you can get Fennekin to hit something other than herself." I smirked as he flinched slightly. Credit to his ego, he immediately rallied and got in my face. His goons also stepped up but Kiawe and Rapp checked them easily.
Before sparks could really fly a voice interrupted our standoff. "Whoa there! It looks like an Explosion is brewing. How about we all calm down?" Kukui slid himself in between us to separate us. He wasn't alone either. And the iconic face of Professor Oak with a dark complexion helped impose between us.
"Indeedee!" I nearly had a heart attack at his face and hair morphing to mimic the named Pokemon. "We wouldn't want such promising students to get into a Tra-pinch!"
I couldn't help but stare at the principal as his face morphed back from the saw like teeth he had spontaneously grown. Why the hell would the anime trope transfer?!
"Professor Muscles!" Rotom jumped from my pocket, "What are you doing here? I swear I sent my most recent report!"
"Haha, yes you did! Thank you for the data on Fighting Type muscle gain once caught. The pictures might have been a bit much. Especially because I don't need to compare the trainer too…" He mumbled the last bit.
"Wait what pictures?" I side eyed a now sweating Rotom. The "innocent" whistling didn't help her case.
"Professor Kukui, Principal Oak, what are you doing here?" Lillie asked.
"Why, I imagine the same thing you're doing!" Principal Oak said, "We had some free time after our meeting so I figured Why-naut!" Ignore the eye twitch…
"We're showing Michael around the school today! He's gonna be attending this year!" Mallow excitedly explained to the Principal. The island Oak raised his eyebrows in surprise before putting on a bright smile. Damian scoffed, no doubt thinking of some remark.
"Why, that's wonderful! Our school is estimated across the region for our Pokegirl focused curriculum! Why we might be having a new teacher join us this year." He side eyed a grinning Kukui.
"That's right! I'll be joining the Pokegirl School this year for a specialized class. It will be advanced compared to the rest of the school but I think I can give students a real First Impression in education."
"That's amazing! Who's going to be put into your class?" Lillie asked, eager for a chance to learn under the regional professor.
"It's obvious I'll be in the class. I wouldn't get your hopes up." Damian sneered at her.
"I doubt you could find your way into the building, let alone Kukui's class." I snipped back and we got in each other's face again.
"Whoa! How about we Freeze Dry this situation? You're both talented Trainers. I'm sure you'd both be good candidates." I begrudgingly backed off at Kukui's request. I don't know why I'm letting him get to me. He shot me another snide look. Oh right…he reminds me of Daniel.
Daniel was a classmate of mine years ago. I still haven't met a more pretentious jackass than that kid. His parents were both doctors in a rural community. So while the family wasn't millionaires they definitely didn't struggle or want for anything. Daniel got the idea that he was better than everyone else because of his parents and that sentiment lasted the entire time I knew him. Looks like guys like him are universal.
"I know! Why don't I give everyone a tour of the school together! That way old and new faces can have a good look at our Lilli-gant school." A snort from my right surprised me. Rapp was doing her best to hide her laugh as the group started to follow the tropical principal.
"Really? You like puns?" I asked with my own teasing tone. She gave me a half hearted glare before a small smile broke out.
"Yeah. Principal Oak's puns are the best. I kinda missed them." She said as we followed the group. Damian and his lackeys had pressed themselves to the front to try and catch Kukui's attention. However Rotom was dominating the Regional Professor's attention, displaying all the most recent data she had recorded from our training. I just hope she's not showing any private pictures.
Principal Oak decided to show off the stables of the Tauros first. Several stalls separated by thin walls and fences like the long building. Large piles of hay lined the floor more than likely where the girls slept. A couple Pokegirls lounged around and looked curiously as the Principal led us around, however none approached us.
"This is the stable for our Tauros. They're used for racing and heavy manual labor around the school. When the school first built the stables and track we only had a few Tauros and now the herd is over 20 strong!" Principal Oak explained as most of us fanned out to interact with the Bull Pokegirls. Lillie tried her hardest to approach one but a quick snort from the bull sent her running to hide behind me.
"You okay?" I asked and Lillie shakily nodded her head. Damian's snickers didn't help my mood especially from the look on her face. Karma seemed to be watching however and Damian got a tail slap to the face from a passing Tauros that sent him reeling. Rotom giving the bull a high five made me smirk. That's my ghost girl.
Kiawe seemed to be his natural habitat as he scratched one of the bull's behind her horns. The content blush and look told me all I needed about his skill as a farmhand.
"Principal Oak? How did you expand the herd? Tauros aren't native to Alola, right?" Lana asked as one of the Pokegirls picked her up and placed her on her shoulders.
"Correct!" Kukui jumped in quickly, "Tauros and their counterpart, Miltank, were introduced by colonists from Johto and Kanto."
"Indeed! This particular herd started off small, only a few donated steers from locals. Under our care, we've grown them to the point they are now." I was confused by his wording. Did more people donate their old steers?
I got my answer quickly but it only brought more and more questions. Exiting from one of the stalls guided by a much larger Tauros was a small girl. She was small, barely bigger than Lana, but it would be impossible to mistake her for a human kid. While she was lacking the muscle mass, height and endowment of her mother, the fur that ran from her hoofs up to her hips, the thin tail running from her small butt, the large cow-like ears and tiny horns on the top of her brown hair were clear signs.
"Moo?" The curious baby Pokegirl looked at us with innocent eyes. The girls immediately squealed at the cuteness overload. Luckily the mother didn't get mad at them crowding her child and the little Tauros drank the attention in. She immediately had Mallow wrapped around her horns as the future cook was fawning over the calf.
I was dumbfounded. Logically I knew Pokegirl had to have children but I was halfway expecting eggs of various sizes that produced nearly grown Pokegirls. Seeing an actual child Pokegirl really threw me for a loop.
"Oh, wow! She's a cutie! She's growing fast huh?" Kukui asked the Tauros mother who nodded in pride. Rotom completed a couple scans which I was able to see. Wow, she's really only a few months old.
"First time seeing a baby Pokegirl, Master?" Rotom asked from my hands and I nodded. Rotom giggled before displaying a couple example pictures of various ages, mostly "domestic" Pokegirls.
"Not that surprising. Most Pokegirls that Trainers encounter are wild caught and raised. Wild Pokegirls of course have their own secret places to rear children and it's rare to see them outside the nests before they're able to manipulate Type Energy."
"Indeed. One of my cousin's colleagues, Professor Elm, specializes in Pokegirl reproduction but even he's never seen a proper nest. Most of time we humans only get glimpses of little ones like this in our more domesticated species. Tauros, Miltanks, the feline species, the canine species etc. Even then when a Pokegirl goes to give birth it's unlikely to return with their young before they're about this age." Principal Oak explained as the others played with the little bull.
"So how fast will she grow? I imagine it can't be long if she's already that big at only a few years old." I questioned the older teachers and then nodded.
"While it certainly depends on the species, most Pokegirls are able to walk and move in a week. From that it's an accelerated time table with almost all being fully grown within a year. I imagine that young calf will be completely grown by the end of next semester."
I was stunned as I watched Lillie try once again to overcome her fear to pet the Tauros. Only a year before she's as big as the rest of the herd. Another thought crossed my mind and I had to voice it. "Well who's the father?" I asked Principal Oak. "I mean, I've only ever seen female Pokegirls so…?" I tailed off not wanting to make the conversation too awkward.
"Oh not me or any of the male staff if you're wondering. While we take care of them I'm afraid none of us are close enough to the herd for something like that to happen." Oak explained. My confused look made Kukui expand further.
"While I'm sure you know that Pokegirls and Humans are reproductively compatible, there's a lot of factors that can help or impede an actual pregnancy." He explained before motioning for Rotom to help display a few graphs and data points. "Things like heat, timing, hormonal balance, even the bond between Trainer and Pokegirl can impede human and Pokegirl procreation."
"So how do they reproduce without human…resources?" I tried to tactfully put it only to get giggles from Rotom.
"That's one of the great mysteries we Professors try to answer!" Kukui's wide smile belated confidence. "It's complicated work but I imagine one day someone will help answer that age old question."
I fell silent and kept watching everyone play with all the Tauros, the only not participating beside Damian. While Damian was trying to "maintain a too cool for this attitude" I was preoccupied by this information bomb dropped on me.
Are there male Pokegirls? If so, where? They can't be domesticated because otherwise they would be everywhere just as much as Pokegirls. I looked at some of the older Tauros and even the calf. No they definitely don't have the gear…maybe one just shows up in time to bear a kid? How would they know? And again where would they come from? The nests?
"What about Nidoking?" I asked abruptly. Kukui blinked before realizing what I was getting at.
"Ah, one of the few Pokegirls species we can see obvious roles and loosely map how they could reproduce! Good catch!" Principal Oak nodded along before picking up the explanation.
"Nidokings are indeed the justification behind the prevalent theory of Pokegirl reproduction. They are plentiful enough outside of the nest for observation and we can plainly see the differences in phenotype between them and their sister species, Nidoqueen!"
"What are the differences?" Damian asked, startling me and Rotom. He seemed oddly focused on our conversation. I didn't even know he was listening.
"Good question! Simply put, genitals. Nidokings are what's known as hermaphrodites. They have both male and female reproductive parts." Rotom helped by displaying a photo taking of a Nidoking next to a female trainer. The Nidoking was large, easily over 6ft tall. Her arms were bulky and purple scale covered, ending in sharp claws. Purple spines ran down her back before turning off to a thick muscular tail. Her legs were similar to the Pokemon she was based on and ended in similar clawed feet. She had a rugged face with a few scars drawing a little attention away from her sharp teeth, plump lips and purple crew cut hair. Her DD breasts were scarred and her flat stomach rested above the topic of conversation. A thick 8' penis rested above a slightly visible labia. Damn…good for her.
"Wait if they're hermaphrodites, does that mean one set is incapable of reproduction? Are both able to produce young?" Damian asked.
"Fascinatingly enough they can! However it depends on their partner! Obviously they are the genetic father with a fellow Nidoqueen but can easily flip to be the genetic mother with another compatible species or even a more dominant Nidoking!" Principal Oak explained with odd enthusiasm. Before the conversation could keep going the group playing with the young Tauros and her mother were saying their goodbyes to The retreating Pokegirls.
The group moved on from the stables waving goodbye to the Tauros. Entering the school we went from classroom to classroom. All of them were extremely large, likely to accommodate any Pokegirls that would be needed for class. Every classroom was equipped with interactive whiteboards and tablets for students. The seating looked more like a college lecture hall rather than a high school.
One stop was a courtyard behind the school that was doubled as a playground for students and a daycare for their Pokegirls. The jungle gym was well taken care of and the field where students and Pokegirls would play was freshly cut. A row of benches, couches, and recliners probably served as a nap or cuddle zone.
I was extremely impressed with the whole school. Everything was top of the line, all with the focus of nurturing students' interests and abilities with Pokegirls. Hell the only indication that this definitely was a family friendly world was the odd private room. I had curiously stuck my head inside one and saw a large queen size bed with fresh sheets and a bedside table with a box of condoms set on it. Coupled with the soundproof walls I could only guess what all this room had seen. Lana's lewd smile at my blush when I returned confirmed what I was thinking.
Finally we were brought back around the front of the building to complete our tour. Principal Oak caught me for a private talk as everyone moved towards the specialized battlefields.
"So young man, what do you think?"
"It's incredible. I mean every inch of this place is perfect to teach Pokegirl." I praised the school.
"So when can I expect your parents to roll by and enroll you?" Principal Oak's smile faded as he noticed my wince.
"Well…I mean…I guess-" I stammered through a futile excuse before I was interrupted.
"-kick your ass any day!" Rapp shouted in Damian's face who in turn wasn't backing down.
"As if. Your little boyfriend got lucky last time." Damian's smug voice countered. I was about to jump in before I caught myself. Instead I put a hand on Rapp's shoulder and pulled her back. Kukui seemed to want to interject but I was faster than him.
"You know I kinda pity you." I bluntly stated. Rapp, Mallow, and Kiawe snorted while Lillie gasped in a ladylike manner.
"What would you know? I have parents that were Ace Trainers. Yours probably don't even care since they let you run around the island." Damian growled. Mallow bit her lip and Lana's own frown grew stormy. Rapp and Kiawe looked like they were seconds away from pulling their pokeballs.
I shook my head. "That's why I pity you." That surprised him enough for me to keep going. "You act like having successful parents means you're successful but honestly ask yourself. Are you even close to their level?" I could see his temper rising but I kept going. "It's sad because I could see you have potential to be as good as them but as you are now? You're as good as you're ever gonna get."
I nodded goodbye to everyone and started to walk away when I heard the release of a pokeball. "Fennekin! Fire Spin!" I didn't even need to pull my own pokeball as Vulpix released herself. A quick Powder Snow caused wind to whip up from the temperature difference. The sound of several Pokegirls being released and soon a stand off in the courtyard was on.
Damian's lackeys had released their own Pokegirls, a Pikipek and a Yungoos stood nervously across from Zubat and Turtonator. Fennekin and Vulpix faced off but as the dust settled my eyes widened. I could see a number of obvious scars criss crossing her chest that weren't present the last time I saw the Fire Fox. Scars that show up on fur covered Pokegirls like that have to be deep…and left untreated.
A growl escaped my throat but before I could point out the obvious a sharp whistle and a blade of wind crashing between the groups cut us off. A large Harpy Pokegirl landed between the groups. She threw her black and white winged arms out, her taloned feet standing firm in the dirt. The sharp hawk-like eyes dated challengers to step up.
"Braviary!" She puffed her B cup chest out with authority. Turtonator, Vulpix and Fennekin didn't back down right away but the nervous expressions they adopted told me they really didn't want to fight the experienced Pokegirl.
"Now let's all calm down." Kukui stepped up beside his Pokegirl with a sharp expression. He shot a look at Damian who had enough self awareness to look embarrassed. "You know better than to directly attack a Trainer," he shot a less sharp but still firm look, "even if you've been provoked."
"But he started it!" Rapp tried to protest but I just nodded. Probably should have expected that reaction. Still… I looked on as Damian recalled Fennekin who gave Vulpix a sad look. Maybe I should be harsher in my opinion of him.
"Rapp it's alright." I said to help diffuse the situation. I shot a glare to Damian who had the audacity to glare back. "You know you really should take better care of your Pokegirls. Scars like that only happen when you delay treatment." Kukui blinked and narrowed his eyes as he got a closer look at the Fire Fox.
"As if I take advice from a bum like you." He sneered back. I ignored him and just called for Vulpix to return, which she did with reluctance. From the shaking of my other Pokeballs, Cutiefly and Pancham weren't happy either. Rapp and Kiawe eventually returned their own Pokegirls.
"Come on guys. Let's go." I paused to shake Principal Oak's hand. "Thank you for the tour. You have a great school."
"Why thank you, young man. I hope to see you Swadloon!" He beamed as his hair wrapped to mimic a leaf cocoon.
Rotom immediately zipped to my side without saying goodbye to Kukui and I heard my friends jog to catch up as I exited the gate.
"Jeez. That was tense." Mallow sighed. Lillie and Lana nodded in agreement.
"God, he's a prick. You'd think the curbstomp he got last time would put him in his place." Rapp growled. "Should have just stomped him again."
"I'm not so sure it would have been completely one sided this time." I mumbled.
"Huh? What do you mean? Vulpix totally dominated!" Rapp protested.
"It's because of last time." I explained, "Last time I had the shock value and speed. I doubt he would let the same thing happen twice."
"He's not wrong. The more you battle an opponent the more familiar you become with each other. Grandpa knows some of the Kahunas move sets by heart and they know his." Kiawe chimed in. "That's not to mention Damian is a good trainer. Sure he's arrogant but…he's got the right to be."
"GAH! Stop making good points!" Rapp shouted angrily.
"Well anyways," Mallow said before slightly jumping to press against my side as we all walked to her cafe. "Whatcha think of the school? Should we go ahead and get you some new stuff for the first day?"
"Heh, not yet. I still have to find a way to pay for tuition." I said.
"Don't you mean your parents?" Lillie asked, confused.
"Yeah, you're right." I swiftly corrected myself.
The walk to Mallow's cafe wasn't long. We all entered the main dining room and grabbed our large table next to the kitchen door. I scanned the room as I pulled the chairs out for Lillie and Rapp next to me. Huh, slow day. Just an old man having lunch with a Makuhita. The chubby, little yellow Pokegirl was having a meal with her smiling Trainer.
Mallow exited to the kitchen and the room quickly dissolved into chaos. Pokegirls were released to have lunch only ended in a race between fliers, a wrestling match that seemed to catch the eye of the Makuhita, and exasperated sighs from the more reserved. Kiawe and I kept an eye on our more energetic companions when throat clearing caught our attention.
"Excuse me, young ones, but my Makuhita would like to join your friends for a match." I turned to the old man. He was a tall muscular man with dark tanned skin and a small smile under his long grayed mustache. His hair was done up in a ponytail that rested on top of his head giving a clear view of his weathered face. His stocky frame was clad in a yellow flower patterned shirt and blue undershirt as well as white shorts. A rope belt was tied around his waist with a fan resting in his makeshift holster.
Next to him was his mentioned Pokegirl. She was only 3ft tall but was wide and stocky. What looked like fat was actually solid stacks of muscles masquerading a chubby frame. Her yellow skin was interrupted by a ring of black around her neck and hands. Her face held squinted eyes and red rosy cheeks. Her blonde hair was tied around itself into a bow to keep it away from her face. She excitedly bounced from heel to heel making her C cups jiggle and bounce along with the rest of her.
"Maku, Makuhita!" She excitedly crowed, almost begging us to let her join Pancham and Turtonator.
Before I could say anything Kiawe shot up in almost a half bow. "Of course Kahuna Hala! It would be an honor for our Pokegirls to train with one of yours!" My eyes widened and I believe the others were just as surprised. Rapp's sudden spit take of her soda certainly helped sell the shock.
Kahuna Hala just let out a full belly laugh, "Oh no young Mahi'ai, while I'm sure I could teach you a thing or two, your grandfather might get on my case if I would suddenly step into his role of teacher." He broadened his smile and clapped the Guts Pokegirl on the shoulder. The motion hardly even budged the girl as she kept hopping. "This young one did an excellent job in her training today and I thought I would reward her with lunch. The energy of your group seems to have taken her in and she just wants to play." Makuhita nodded eagerly and Pancham and Turtonator smiled competitively, eager to get their paws on the chubby fighter.
"I'm okay with it if you are Kiawe. I'm Michael Webb. It's good to meet you sir." I held my hand out for a shake. Makuhita immediately cheered and dive bombed Turtonator who struggled under the weight of the Pokegirl and was buried when Pancham let her own war cry out and pounced. Hala laughed heartily and took my hand.
"Ha! It's good to meet you as well young man. I've heard many good things about you." He said.
"Wait, you've heard of me before?" That genuinely confused me. I knew he was the Kahuna but I would imagine he would have more important things than to hear about some kid.
"Indeed. It's my duty as Kahuna to know the residents of our island and often I hear rumors of a boy running around doing those Poke Quests with a fever." He said, rubbing his chin. "I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your parents though, are you from another island?"
"He is!" Mallow cut in hastily as she set food down for our group. "Ula'Ula island right?" she said nervously.
"Yeah, Ula'Ula."
"Ah that makes sense. Nanu has too large of an island to keep track of all the families moving in…if he even cared enough to do so…" He mumbled under his breath.
"I'm surprised they'd be gossiping about some kid running errands for cash. Doesn't seem that important." Rapp said, biting into a strawberry.
"Oh, you know how people are. They just love a bit of gossip. A new boy running around doing a large number of quests is probably the most exciting thing to happen to some of us old folk." He laughed. A crashing noise drew our attention as we saw a panicking Pancham and Makuhita and a dazed Turtonator pull herself out of the wreckage of a once proud table.
"Well, look at the time. It seems I've overstayed my welcome. Here's the bill and a tip, tell Abe I said goodbye!" Hala shoved money in Mallow's hand and quickly pulled Makuhita out of the pile of Pokegirls, the yellow sumo in training waving as she was dragged out the door.
"Oh yeah! I promised mom and dad I would get home in time for…stuff. Bye!" Rapp and Zubat quickly abandoned us, followed closely by a snickering Lana and Popplio. You didn't even give an excuse.
"Hobbes? Oh yes! I will be back shortly. Sorryhavetogobye!" Lillie fled taking a "phone call." Your phone didn't even ring!
"Master, we have to go!" Rotom pleaded with Cutiefly pushing my head towards the door. A steel grip on my right shoulder and the actual steel of a ladle landing on my left stopped us in our tracks.
"Ohhh~ Michael~! Where do you think you're going?~" Mallow's sickly sweet tone met my ears. Her face would have been absolutely captivating with her pleasant smile. It was destroyed by the menacing aura surrounding her.
"Uh-uh- Kiawe?" I asked, looking around. I saw him face down on the ground with several large lumps sticking out from the back of his head. Charizard was poking her Master alongside a shell-shocked Turtonator.
"...mercy?" I weakly asked the Emerald Culinarian. She put a finger to her puffy lips to think for a second.
"Mmmmm~ No."
As I was dragged back to the mess I sighed in defeat. Seriously, where does she just pull those ladles from? I grabbed the offered broom and set to work cleaning up wood and started thinking of the day.
The Pokegirl School was amazing. I could definitely learn a lot there and I would even have a prebuilt set of friends. Just how am I gonna do the paperwork to enroll? Or even pay for it. I'm barely making enough to afford groceries off the Poke Quests. I asked Vulpix if she would hold the dustpan for me and she kindly obliged.
Seems the Poke Quests have brought me attention anyways. Who knew the islanders were the gossiping type. Wonder what Anela and the old man at the hardware shop had to say. They always overpay me for all their requests and usually give me random odds and ends. Those blankets were nice though.
Kiawe and Turtonator rolled the new table in and set it up before saying his own goodbyes. The speed he left had absolutely nothing to do with the raised eyebrow Mallow gave him.
"Alright that should be the last of it. Sorry about the mess Mallow." I gulped as she turned the eyebrow on me before she smiled.
"Yeah that's it. Thank you for the help." She sat down and patted the seat next to her. Thankfully the cafe was still empty as she swung her legs over mine to get closer. I smirked and started massaging her calves to mess with her.
"Mmmm~ keep going, that feels too good right now." She asked and I nodded. We sat in conformable silence for a while before she frowned. "You're not gonna be able to attend are you?"
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
"School. You need your parents to sign you up. You said they're not great but they'd sign for you to go right?" She asked leaning forward to place a hand on mine. I grimaced as I thought of a way to explain. Mallow's had a pretty loving life. Her mom might be gone but she loved the whole time. Her dad's pretty cool too. "They don't like…hit you…right?"
"No." I said firmly. My situation was completely out of this world but if we were talking about my real parents, the ones not of this world, then I couldn't let that be the assumption. I got punished but I wasn't abused.
Mallow didn't seem too convinced as she just swung her legs off so she could pull me into a tight hug. "We're here for you. If you need it. Me, Lana, Rapp, all of us." I smiled and returned the hug. Damn your anime friendship. Trying to melt my icy heart?
The ringing of a bell brought us out of our moment. Abe blinked in surprise at the sight of his blushing daughter sitting as far away from an innocent looking me.
"Hey kiddo, Michael. Am I interrupting something?"
"No!" Mallow squeaked out as I shook my head.
"Hehehe. Kinda, these two were getting so lovey dovey. Wanna see? I have pictu-WAHH!" Rotom teased before I snapped my fingers. A ballistic Cutiefly tackled the possessed phone out of the air for a quick wrestling match. A match that Rotom wasn't entirely against from the way her plasma hands latched onto Cutiefly's ass.
Abe blinked before awkwardly laughing. "Well I'll try not to get in your way. As long as I have some help before the evening rush."
"No, no I'm about to go. Thank you for your hospitality." I shook Abe's hand before returning my crew. I gave Mallow a quick hug. "Thanks for the invite. Are we still doing that hike Saturday?"
"Sure are! Lana is bringing a volleyball net and Kiawe's family is letting him borrow the grill. You know which way we have to go?"
"Yeah Rotom's got the map data but I can get us to the fork before we have to actually listen to her." "Hey-mmph" Rotom tried to protest before she got a face full of Cutiefly's crotch. The fairy pumped her tiny fists in victory before moaning. I returned Cutiefly and grabbed my now damp phone before that could get any further.
"I'll see you guys on Saturday then!" I quickly retreated from the restaurant ducking a family entering. Well that couldn't have been more awkward.
I pulled Rotom out to accept a few last minute Poke Quests before I returned to my camp. Well, guess I've got a few weeks to figure out the school thing. Oh well, if I can't swing it I'll just have to hang out with them when they're not taking classes. And if I can't do that, guess I'll just have to start my Pokegirl journey early.
I smiled as I entered the bustling little village that preluded the large city center. Anywhere I go, it's gonna be amazing. Afterall, this world beats the old by miles.
