To my readers-This is a major editing overhaul for my Pokemon fanfiction. During this editing overhaul, I am renaming my OC. I will not change her Pokemon Partner, and I will not change her regional Pokemon Teams. I have decided as a writing goal to combine all of the regions together rather than writing them as individual regions. I'm still going to write Sinnoh and Unova, but at this moment, I need to finish writing certain regions like Kanto, Alola and Galar. For those of you who are going to ask me if I'm doing the Pokemon movies (you know who you are), I'm nipping that question in the bud right now. I will not be writing the movies. Why? Because it will be too much for me to do as I already have a lot on my plate as it is so stop asking me that question.
If you dont like the way I'm writing my version of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar then you dont have to read my fanfiction. You can move onto reading something else in the Pokemon universe, I'm not going to force you as readers to read my fanfiction. I'm not going to reach through my computer screen to force you to read any of my fanfiction. You as individuals chose to read my fanfiction. Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN POKEMON. I ONLY OWN MY OC AND THE CREATION OF HER REGIONAL POKEMON TEAMS. ALL REGIONAL POKEMON TEAMS WILL BE POSTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CHAPTERS FOR MY OC.
Shoutouts:
Narrator: With Bulbasaur as his newest Pokémon, Ash, Trixie and friends are making their way triumphantly to Vermillion City, aren't they?
Trixie: We're trying to…
Meeko, tired from walking: Ri…..olu.
Trixie: But Ash decided to make a pit stop to look for more Pokémon.
"There's nothing but Spearow around here." said Ash.
"Well, that's the least of our worries, isn't it?" said Misty.
"You know, Ash, you can always use Rito." said Trixie, feeding Rito on her shoulder.
"I know." he tells her. "I wish I could've caught it though."
"Pidge?" Rito asked, looking down at Trixie from her shoulder.
"He's just jealous that I caught you first and not him." said Trixie, causing Ash to stick out his tongue.
"Pidgey, Gey, Pidge." said Rito, then sticks his tongue out of his beak.
"Just because we're a little lost doesn't mean I have to stop catching all the Pokémon I can, does it?" asked Ash.
"Chu." said Pikachu.
"Of course not. Enjoy yourself." said Misty. Suddenly, Rito perked up and flies off of Trixie's shoulder, towards the small group of wild Spearow that Ash saw. "Rito, where are you going?" asked Trixie as Rito lands a ways from them.
"Riol?" asked Meeko.
"Pidgey." said Rito causing the wild Spearow to look up. "Pidgey. Pidgey, Pidgey, Pidgey, Pidg."
"What is Rito doing over there?" asked Ash.
"I don't know." said Trixie. "I think he's talking to those wild Spearow about something."
"Pidgey." said Rito, pointing a wing towards Ash and the others. One of the Spearow thought for a moment and nods in agreement. Rito then flies over to Ash, knocking one of his Pokeball off of his waist. "Hey!" exclaimed Ash, trying to grab the Pokeball from him.
"I know what he's doing." said Brock.
"What?" asked Misty.
"Rito wants you to capture that Spearow." he explained.
"Are you sure?" asked Ash.
"Spearow!" said the wild Spearow, nodding in affirmation.
"Pokeball, go!" shouted Ash, throwing the Pokeball and once inside, Spearow was captured.
"I just caught…a Spearow!" shouted Ash.
"Pik, Pikachu!" said Pikachu.
"Riolu! Riolu!" said Meeko, jumping for joy.
"You're amazing, you know that?" Trixie asked Rito, who then nuzzles her cheek with his beak.
"Pidgey." cooed Rito.
Narrator: Our friends have gotten off track just a bit and Ash has finally captured a Spearow.
"I just can't go on one step further." said Misty. "We've been looking for Vermillion City for ten whole days!"
"Yeah and I need to stock up on some Pokémon food for Meeko to try." said Trixie as Brock walks over to Misty.
"Uh, there a bug right on your…" Brock started to tell her when Misty screaming.
"Get it away!" shrieked Misty, jumping onto Ash's back.
"That doesn't look like a bug to me." said Trixie as Rito and Meeko gave Misty a weird look.
"Heh, it was just a piece of grass." said Brock. Misty growls angrily at Brock who laughs before getting a kick to the face and knocking the map out of his hands. "Ooh. That's gotta hurt." said Trixie as she puts Rito back in its Pokeball.
"Olu." said Meeko, nodding in agreement.
"I'm going crazy! Where are we?" asked Misty. Ash catches the map Brock was holding.
"According to this, we're right in the middle of nowhere." said Ash, then shows Misty a route they could take. "But it looks like route 24 leads right to Vermillion City."
"Does this trail take us to route 24?" she asked him.
"According to my calculations, it does." said Ash.
"Yippee!" said Trixie as she and Meeko jump for joy around Brock. "Let's go! Meeko and I need a bath!"
"All right! Then let's get this show on the road." said Misty, picking up her backpack and walks towards a rock pillar. "Huh? Hey Ash, Jordan, take a look at this thing."
"It looks like some kind of giant Pokémon." said Ash. "Pikachu."
"Chu!" said Pikachu, hiding behind Brock's backpack.
"Pikachu!" said a frustrated Ash.
"It's not a giant Pokémon." said Trixie as they ran up to see a small lizard Pokémon on top of a rock with a flame on its tail. "That's a small Pokémon."
"A Charmander." said Brock.
"Char." squealed Charmander causing the group to fall to the ground.
"Charmander, a flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out." said Dexter.
"I didn't know that about Charmander." said Trixie.
"Well, now you know." said Brock, smiling.
"When Trixie and I went to get my first Pokémon from Professor Oak, I was disappointed because I couldn't get a Charmander." said Ash as Trixie gave Charmander a reassuring smile. "Now I can catch my own."
"I don't know. It looks like it's in bad shape." said Misty.
"Yeah, catch it and we'll take it to Pokémon center for help." said Brock.
"Pokeball, go!" shouted Ash, trying to capture Charmander who hits the Pokeball with its tail. "It looks pretty healthy to me. You think I should have Pikachu battle it first to weaken it and make it easier to catch?"
"Why don't you let me catch it?" asked Misty. "My water Pokémon would be stronger against Charmander."
"Hold on a minute." said Brock, pointing to Charmander. "Take a look at the flame on its tail."
"Char! Char!" panted Charmander.
"It doesn't look good." said Trixie. "Better yet….Charmander doesn't sound very good either."
"Riolu. Riolu." said Meeko, worriedly as she heard how Charmander sounded.
"Exactly. There's no way it could still have the strength to battle." said Brock. "Ash, try the Pokeball one more time."
"All right, I will." said Ash. "Pokeball, go!"
The Pokeball hits Charmander. "All right!" shouted Ash but when Charmander comes out, the Pokeball hits Ash in the head.
"It sure has a lot of spunk." said Brock.
"A little too much if you ask me." said Ash.
"You know something? That Charmander has my respect." said Trixie. "Ash needed that. Thanks, Charmander."
"I think this Charmander has an attitude problem." said Misty. Suddenly, Pikachu and Meeko walk up to Charmander. "Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Riolu." said Meeko.
"Pika, Pika?" asked Pikachu.
"Charmander." Charmander tells Pikachu and Meeko.
"Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Riolu." said Meeko.
"What's the story, Pikachu?" Ash asked as both Pokémon came down from the rock.
"Pik, Pikachu." said Pikachu, demonstrating a necktie.
"A necktie?" asked Misty.
"Hm. A man maybe." said Ash.
"Pika!" shouted Pikachu.
"I don't get it." said Misty.
"Neither do I." said Trixie.
"Hey, Ash, why don't you try to figure out what Pikachu's saying?" asked Brock.
"Pikachu, Pika, Pika, Pika. Pikachu. Chu! Chu!" Pikachu tells them what Charmander had told him. "Pikachu!"
"Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Okay, I think I've got it." said Ash.
"What did Pikachu say?" asked Trixie.
"Pikachu says that Charmander's waiting on that rock for someone to come and get it." said Ash.
"You mean it belongs to somebody?" asked Misty.
"Well, I'm not exactly sure." said Ash.
"If its waiting for someone, I think we better leave it." Brock tells the others. "It's probably best if its own trainer takes care of it."
"I hope it's trainer comes back for it soon." said Ash.
"I can't help but feel bad for Charmander." said Trixie as they walk away and Charmander continues to wait for its trainer. In the distance, Misty sees something.
"Hey, you guys, look over there." said Misty as she spots the Pokémon center. "It's the Pokémon center."
"The one on the map. Route 24 can't be too far." said Ash. Grey clouds filled the sky and sparks came out of Pikachu's cheeks. "Pi. Pikachu." said Pikachu as it starts to rain.
"Riolu." said Meeko.
"Uh-oh." said Trixie.
"Hurry!" said Ash as they ran towards the Pokémon center. Out in the rain, Charmander had a leaf over its body to protect the flame on its tail. "Here's some nice hot soup." said Misty as she brought some bowls over to their table.
"Thanks Misty." said Ash.
"Yummy! Thank you, Misty." said Trixie as she sits down at the table and takes a spoonful.
"Have some soup, Brock." she said and sees his demeanor. "Huh? What's wrong?"
"I wonder, do you think anybody picked up that Charmander yet?" He asked her. "What if its trainer left it there?"
"I don't think the Charmander would wait around this long, do you?" asked Ash.
"Especially in this weather right now." added Trixie.
"I don't either, you two. Its trainer must have gotten it by now." said Brock. Not far from them, a group of trainers were laughing.
"Sure got a lot of them." said One trainer.
"For sure." said another.
"Just look at them. It's a pretty cool collection." said the trainer with the Pokéballs in front of him.
"Heh, way cool." said a third trainer.
"You're the man, Damian." said a trainer with a white headband.
"Yo, I thought you had a Charmander too." said the trainer next to him.
"Yeah, I had one but that puny thing was so weak, it couldn't even beat the weakest opponents." Damian tells him.
"I don't like his attitude." said Misty as she sits down next to Brock.
"He reminds me of Gary." said Trixie.
"Charmander may be weak against water Pokémon, but of their trainers work hard, they can be strong." said Brock.
"So what did you do with the Charmander?" asked a trainer.
"Eh, I left it on some rock in the woods." said Damian, causing Ash and the others to gasp. "That thing is so stupid. No matter what I do to it, it keeps following me. I finally got rid of it by promising it I'd come back for it. It fell for it. It's probably still there waiting for me."
Damian and his friends start laughing as Brock growls. "He's the one who abandoned that Charmander." said Ash, causing Meeko to glare and growl at the trainer.
"Yeah, and it's still waiting for him on that rock." said Misty. Just then, Brock slams his hands on the table. "Brock, what are you doing?" asked Ash.
"By the looks of it, I think he's going to handle some business." said Trixie.
"I bet it's still up there wagging its tail." said Damian's friend.
"It'll probably wag it so long, it'll put the flame out." said the other trainer.
"Yeah, for sure." said Damian, laughing when suddenly Brock picks him up by his shirt. "Hey, what…"
"Go and get it!" demanded Brock, causing Damian to gasp. "That Charmander is still waiting for you. Go and get it now."
"Why should I?" Damian asked.
"You lied to your Pokémon and said you'd be back." Brock reminded him. "Now it's waiting out there in the rain for you. And if its tail flame goes out, it'll die."
"Oy, what I do is none of your business." said Damian as he gets out of Brock's grasp.
"Do what he says." said Ash and Trixie.
"What did you say, nerds?" asked Damian.
"You heard what I said. And you want to be a Pokémon Trainer." said Ash.
"You're disgusting." said Misty.
"Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Riolu!" Meeko growled.
"If I were you, I would heed Brock's advice and get Charmander right now before it dies." added Trixie, glaring at Damian. "And if Charmander dies, its death will be on your hands."
"You want to fight with me?" Damian asked.
"You better not mess with Damian." said one of Damien's friends.
"And he better not mess with me!" shouted Trixie, pushing Damien's friend.
"Let's go." said Ash and a standoff begins.
"Let's break it up. You know the rules." said Nurse Joy, intervening the standoff and gains their attention. "Pokémon are never to be used in personal fights. Its disrespectful to the Pokémon and their trainers."
"Yeah, well tell them." said Damian as he starts to walk away. "They were the ones who started it."
"I think you would be better off not to get mixed up with them." said Nurse Joy as she and the others watch Damian leave. "They have a bad reputation."
"Uh, thanks for the advice." said Brock, blushing as Nurse Joy giggles. "She sure is pretty. I've never seen anyone as pretty as her."
"What are you talking about?" asked Misty. "She looks just like all the other Joys."
"It's true, Brock. All the Joys look the same." said Trixie, holding Meeko in her arms.
"Yeah, it's a joyful world." said Ash, then shakes him. "All right, snap out of it."
"Ugh, huh?"
"Oh, quit spacing out. What about Charmander?" Misty asked Brock.
"Ah, that's right! We've got to help it." Brock exclaimed.
"Jordan, you and Meeko stay here." said Ash. "I don't need you out there and catch a cold."
"You got it, Ash." said Trixie.
"Riolu!" said Meeko, nodding. Outside in the rain, Ash, Brock and Misty went to get Charmander. "This is dangerous, going out in the storm like this to help a Pokémon. What if we catch pneumonia?" asked Misty.
"Well, nobody asked you to follow along." said Ash.
"Got to help a Pokémon in need." said Misty, winking at him. Still on the rock, Charmander was still holding onto the leaf to protect its tail when in the trees, the other wild Spearow were watching it.
The flock of Spearow screeched as they flew out of the trees attacking Charmander with their claws. "Knock it off!" shouted Ash as he threw a rock at them, only to cause them to fly over to them. Brock had his jacket off to fight off the Spearow. "Thunder Shock, Pikachu!" said Ash.
"Chu!" shouted Pikachu, squeezing its cheeks to release its thunder shock. "Pikachu!"
The Spearow squawked as they flew away. "Pika." said Pikachu as it turns around.
"Next time, make sure you don't shock us too, Pikachu." said Ash as he, Brock and Misty where on the ground, electrified.
"Pikachu." said Pikachu, apologetically.
"Oh, no!" said Ash as he and Brock took a look at Charmander. "The flame on its tail is almost out."
"Let's get it to the Pokémon center." said Brock as he places his jacket on Charmander.
"I'll make sure its tail flame stays lit." said Ash as he takes off his jacket as well. All three ran back to the Pokémon center with Ash holding the end of his jacket.
"Hold on! You can make it, Charmander!" said Brock. Back at the Pokémon center, Nurse Joy, Trixie and Meeko were looking out the window.
"Riol…." said Meeko.
"Please be okay, Charmander." said Trixie as Meeko pressed her face against her body when suddenly the door opens to reveal Brock and the others.
"Joy, please help us." panted Ash.
"What is it? What's wrong?" asked Nurse Joy as she, Trixie and Meeko ran over to them.
"This Charmander is in bad shape." said Brock.
"The flame on its tail…" said Ash and Nurse Joy gasps.
"There's not much time." she replied. The wind whooshes outside as Nurse Joy takes care of Charmander.
"Will it survive?" asked Brock.
"Charmander is very weak." said Nurse Joy, listening to its breathing before looking at the group. "How could you let it get into this condition?"
"That's the thing, Nurse Joy." said Trixie. "This Charmander doesn't belong to us."
"It's not our fault." said Ash. "Damian's the one who abandoned it."
"What?" asked a shocked Nurse Joy.
"Well, Damian promised Charmander to come back for it." Ash explained to her. "Charmander's loyal to Damian, so it believed him."
"Poor Charmander." Nurse Joy said, her heart going out for the Pokémon. "And Damian just left with the rest of them."
"Joy, I'm begging you." pleaded Brock. "Please save it. Charmander has to get better."
"I'll do whatever I can." said Nurse Joy. Outside of the room, Ash, Jordan, Misty and Brock begin to wait while Nurse Joy started to heal Charmander. As they were waiting, Trixie and Meeko started to fall asleep while the wind blew furiously outside.
Brock stares at the bright red sign outside of the hospital room. "Charmander, you've got to hold on. Please, keep your flame burning." thought Brock. Just then, the sign turns off. Misty and Ash gathered beside Brock. "Huh?" the three of them said as Nurse Joy joins them and gives them a smile.
"Charmander's recovering. It should be fine by morning." said Nurse Joy as she shows them Charmander.
"Jordan will be happy to hear that." said Ash.
"That's the spirit, Charmander." thought a smiling Brock. The next morning, Ash, Trixie, Misty, Pikachu and Meeko were sleeping when Brock runs into the room.
"Wake up, everybody!" he shouted.
"Ah!" grunted Ash and Trixie as they fell to the floor.
"That was some wake-up call, Brock." mumbled Trixie, rubbing her eyes.
"Riolu." said Meeko, sleepily.
"What's up, Brock?" asked Ash.
"Yeah, what's the matter?" asked Misty.
"Pikachu?" asked Pikachu.
"It's Charmander. Charmander has disappeared from the ER!" Brock tells them.
"But how?" asked Ash. The group runs towards the ER room and sees Nurse Joy standing by an open window.
"I bet it went back to that rock to wait for Damian." said Ash.
"Poor Charmander." said Trixie.
"We got to go back." said Brock.
"But that's no use." said Misty, causing the others to look at her. "We can't force Charmander to come with us if it wants to wait for Damian, even if he is a lying creep."
"She's right." said Nurse Joy. "There's nothing you can do until Charmander realizes the truth."
Not far from the Pokémon center, Charmander heads back to its rock. It then looks back over its shoulder at the center. On the other side of the center, Ash and the others were on their way towards Route 24. "Oh, I thought Charmander understood that we cared about it." said Brock.
"Brock, Charmander knew that we cared but don't you see? It couldn't forget about Damian. It's still loyal to him." said Ash.
"Chu." said Pikachu.
"That's why it went back." Ash tells him. Brock then smiles until Misty slaps him on his shoulder.
"Come on. Route 24 is just ahead." said Misty. "Once we get to Vermillion City, there will be plenty of Pokémon."
"To protect the world from devastation…"
"To untie all peoples within our nation…."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love…"
"To extend our reach to the stars above…"
"Jessie."
"James."
"Mm, mind if I cut in?" asked Meowth. "Huddle up. They're going to be here soon."
"Finally, a foolproof plan to capture Pikachu and Riolu." said James.
"I'm so excited." said Jessie. "I can't wait to test our new automatic, high-speed, super-duper, whatchamacallit!"
"Start it up." said Jessie and James as they both pressed the blue button.
"So, what does this thing do, anyway?" asked Meowth as the machine starts moving and becomes a drill when suddenly Meowth freaks out. "Not another hold driller! We tried that already!"
"If at first you don't succeed…." said Jessie.
"This time, we'll remember where the hole is." said James as he and Jessie cover up the hole with a net, grass and dirt.
"Are you sure you're going to remember where the trap is?" asked a worried Meowth.
"Meowth, don't you think we're smarter than that?" Jessie asked him, causing Meowth to sigh and faint.
"Our trap is set." said James.
"Huh." said Meowth and sees Ash and the others coming their way. "Hey, here they come now!"
Team Rocket hides behind some bushes, taking their whatchamacallit with them as they see Pikachu and Meeko walking ahead of the others. "Hm, they're getting warm." whispered Jessie.
"Warmer…." chuckled James.
"They're burning up." said Meowth. Just then, the trap didn't work as both Pikachu and Meeko walked over it.
"It's too strong. You used too many tree branches." said Jessie, accusing James.
"Me? You're the one who covered it with too much dirt." James shot back and Meowth starts to growl at the both of them.
"Meowth." said Meowth as he scratches Jessie and James. "Quiet."
"Whoa, you feel something?" asked Ash as he feels the ground shaking beneath him.
"I did." said Brock.
"Yeah." said Trixie.
"Huh? Feel what?" asked Misty. Suddenly, the ground broke below them, causing them to fall into the trap. "Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Riolu." said Meeko, her ears twitched. Both Pokémon looked inside the hole, seeing their trainers groaning in pain. "Pika, pika?" asked Pikachu.
"Ri, Olu." said Meeko when suddenly they heard something rustling in the bushes.
"I can't believe they fell for it." said Meowth.
"Our invention worked. We're geniuses!" said Jessie.
"Pi." said Pikachu, pushing Meeko behind him.
"Come with us, Pikachu. You belong to us now." said James.
"Chu!" shouted Pikachu, shaking his head as he protects Meeko. Meeko backs up as Pikachu squeezed his cheeks to release a Thunder Shock on Team Rocket. "Rubber wont conduct electricity." James tells the electric Pokémon.
"Just another example of our incredible genius at work." said Jessie.
"You have to be a rocket scientist to outsmart us, the team rocket scientists." said James.
"We call these our anti-Pikachu suits." Jessie tells Pikachu. "We made them ourselves. I must admit, I don't think this is really my color at all."
"It's no use in protecting that Pokémon." said Meowth as Meeko peers behind Pikachu.
"Pika, Pika, Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Olu, Olu, Riolu!" said Meeko shaking her head.
"What did Pikachu say, Meowth?" asked Jessie.
"Pikachu told Meeko that she should go to her trainer and Meeko doesn't want to leave Pikachu behind." Meowth translated.
"Pikachu! Chu, chu!" urged Pikachu.
"Riolu!" said Meeko, stomping her front feet, letting Pikachu know that she wasn't leaving him with Team Rocket.
"Enough talk!" shouted Meowth, then had a great idea. "Let's just grab both the Pikachu and its friend and get out of here!"
Pikachu and Meeko gasped at Meowth before they ran away. "We'll use our anti-Pikachu rubber balloon bazooka." said James, holding a bazooka in his hands.
"Ready. Aim. Fire." said Jessie and James takes a shot. A red rubber balloon came out of the bazooka, heading straight for Meeko and Pikachu. As the rubber balloon gets closer, they ran in a different direction causing it to follow them, only to float in front of them and squeeze them both inside. "Chu!" shouted Pikachu as he sends a thunderbolt from the inside.
"Riol…Riol." said a weakly Meeko, feeling the effects of the thunderbolt. Pikachu looks up at Team Rocket as he stands in front of Meeko from inside the balloon. "Pikachu, Pikachu!" taunted Team Rocket.
"Pikachu!" screamed Pikachu.
"Pikachu!" shouted Ash and starts running up the side of the hole a couple times. "Come on, you guys, get up! We got to do something."
"We'd love to get up Ash." said Misty. "Unfortunately, you're standing on us." Ash looks down and sees that she was right. "You know…I'm telling mom that you kicked dirt in my face." said Jordan as they hear Jessie cackling from above.
"Hello down there. Thank you so much for dropping in." said Jessie.
"Don't worry. Pikachu and Meeko will be safe with us. We won't lose them like you did." said James, holding the rubber balloon.
"Chu. Olu." said both Pokémon.
"Meeko!" screamed Trixie as she sees her with Pikachu. "Give her back!"
"Pikachu." said Ash.
"Let's get out of here." said Meowth when suddenly Charmander appeared behind them.
"Charmander!" said Charmander.
"What is that thing?" asked Jessie.
"Charmander." Charmander tells Meowth.
"It's saying you better give Pikachu and Meeko back to those guys right now." Meowth translated.
"It's got to be kidding." said Jessie.
"Now step aside you insolent little firebug." ordered James. "We haven't got time to play with you."
"Team Rocket plays rough so get moving." said Meowth. Just then, Charmander gets angry and balls up its fists.
"Huh?" said Team Rocket.
"Char!" shouted Charmander and releases its fire from its mouth, burning Team Rocket.
James drops Pikachu and Meeko as he and his team members groaned before they ran off screaming. "You see, didn't I tell you we needed fireproof uniforms?" asked James.
"Shut up and keep running!" said Jessie.
"Some geniuses. Meowth!" said Meowth.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again." they said as they ran. In the bushes, Damian appears and watches Team Rocket.
"Charmander beat them?" he asked himself.
"Unh! Wow! Thanks for the help, Charmander." said Brock as he gets out of the hole.
"You see, Brock? Charmander knew that we cared." said Misty. "That's why it's here."
"Thank you, Charmander for getting Meeko for me." said Trixie, hugging the little lizard Pokémon. "You're the best."
"Riolu." said Meeko, joining the hug as well.
"Char." said Charmander, nodding its head and returns the hug.
"Way to go." said Brock.
"Charmander, how'd you like to join up with us?" Ash asked. "I'm afraid your trainer isn't going to be coming back."
"Hi, Charmander. Been looking all over for you." said Damian, coming up behind them.
"Damian, it's you!" said Ash.
"What do you want, Damian?" asked Brock.
"I came back for Charmander just like I promised." said Damian, causing the quartet to gasp. "So let's go." Charmander looks back at the others, whimpering as it sees Jordan starting to tear up.
"Careful. This trainer's already abandoned you once before." Brock said to Charmander.
"Charmander is mine. I'm the one who caught it, remember?" said Damian.
"Damian, you bragged about how you abandoned it." said Ash.
"Good thing I did. That toughened it up." said Damian, knowing that Ash is right. "Besides, what's wrong with dumping off a weak Pokémon?" Charmander gasped at its trainer's admittance. "I wasn't going to come back for it, but now that I've seen what it can do, I'm real glad I ran into you guys."
"Char." Charmander said sadly, looking down at the ground.
"The best thing is, I didn't have to raise it myself!" added Damian.
"That's terrible." said Misty and Trixie.
"Raising a Pokémon is the best part of being a trainer." said Brock.
"You wish! It's the most boring part of the job." Damian tells him.
"How dare you call yourself a Pokémon trainer!" shouted Brock.
"You see? He doesn't care about you." Misty tells Charmander. "He just wants to use you to win matches."
"Charmander." said Ash.
"Charmander." said Brock.
"Charmander, return!" shouted Damian and throws Charmander's Pokeball at it. In an instant, Charmander had an idea and as the Pokeball came towards it, Charmander hits it right back at Damian.
"Ah!" said Damian as Charmander's Pokeball hits him in the face, causing the others to gasp.
"Ouch! Right in the face!" exclaimed Trixie.
"That does it!" said Damian as he grabs every Pokeball that he has. "I'll crush you with every Pokémon I've got."
"Char!" screeched Charmander, firing another fire attack, causing Damian to be burned.
"Chu!" squealed Pikachu as it joins in the fight with Charmander.
"(Sobs) Mommy!" cried Damian, running away.
"Way to go, Charmander." said Brock.
"Yeah, good work." said Ash. Charmander turns around, staring intensely at the group.
"Go ahead, Ash. You get Charmander. It'll be a great Pokémon." said Brock.
"But, Brock, you saved it, so you deserved it, I guess." said Ash.
"If neither of you takes Charmander, then I call dibs." said Trixie.
"Hey!" said Ash, causing Brock to smile at the brother and sister.
"What? You know that it's the truth!" said Trixie with her hands raised.
"Right, but don't forget, you're the one who kept the flame on its tail lit." said Brock. "I'm sure you'll raise Charmander to become a great Pokémon."
"Thank you, Brock." said Ash, then takes out a Pokeball. "Come on, Charmander. Welcome to the group!"
"Char! Char!" said Charmander, smiling up at Ash as it goes into his Pokeball.
"You got a Pokémon and a new friend." said Misty.
"Yeah." said Ash.
Narrator: And so Charmander joins Ash, Trixie and their friends on their journey. Maybe getting lost isn't so bad after all, especially when you're lost with your friends.
Trixie: You can say that again.
Narrator: Of course, finding your way with your friends is even better.
