After handing the poachers over to authorities, the party began their second trek through Victory Road. Compared to the first time around though, the second trip was much easier. Soon it was night as the party finally reached the Indigo Plateau.

Michael and the girls looked to see Mikey, followed by John and Jack, running over to them.

Soon the party had dinner, where Mr. Goodshow appeared and gave his tournament opening speech.

Mr. Goodshow - "Hello everyone. Yes, I know it was just a few weeks ago that we had the Kanto Victory Road Tourney. Hence why I'm hoping the Johto one will be just as amazing. And that's DESPITE the 'challenge' made by said Kanto Victory Road Tourney winner."

Michael rolled his eyes a bit as he knew Mr. Goodshow was talking about him. But he DID make this challenge, so if he DID win, he would be sticking to it.

Mr. Goodshow - "Anyway. Good luck to you all! And may the better Trainer win!"

Everyone applauded as Mr. Goodshow left the stage and returned to his seat. After dinner everyone returned to their hotel rooms for the night. During breakfast the next morning, the group stages were quickly revealed. While the rest of the party was paired up in a one group or another, Michael was completely alone.

Mikey - "Don't worry about it. At least this means you'll fight any of us in the group stage."

Michael - "That is true."

Once it was time for the group stage battles to begin, the party split off from there. While the rest of the party struggled here and there during the group stage, Michael completely blazed right through his group, leaving nothing in his wake. The day after the group stage battles were done, Michael found that his first opponent was none other than Jack.
