Chapter 30: Battle Of Elemental Proportions! Vs. Fauna!
After reuniting with most of the others, the party decided to have lunch while everyone else had their Round of 128 battles. Once it was dinner time, Michael saw that his next opponent was Fauna. After getting a good night's rest, the party got up early for breakfast since Michael and Fauna's battle was one of the early ones. The rest of the entire party went to their seats in the stands, while Michael and Fauna went to the locker room. Soon the duo was called.
Michael - "Ready to put on a show Fauna?"
Fauna - "Ready as ever Michael. And may the better Trainer win."
Michael - "Agreed."
They shook hands before walking out of the locker room, then appeared on opposite sides of the battlefield.
Abigail - "This will be a 6-on-6 Round of 64 battle between Fauna of Kalos's Coumarine City and Michael Masi of Pokémon Island. The battle will continue all Pokémon on one side are unable to continue. Are both trainers ready?"
Both Trainers activate their Battle Disks.
Michael/Fauna - "Ready!"

Fauna - "Thank you for trying Whimsicott. Take a deserved rest. Well, I knew I was gonna have my work cut out for me today. But I refuse to go down without a fight! Go Vikavolt!"
Abigail - "Will you change Pokémon Michael?"
Michael - "Empoleon return for now! Blaze I choose you!"
Empoleon jumped back to stand next to Michael as he was replaced with Blaze.

Empoleon tagged in, reentering the battle.

Michael crossed his arms, silently saying no.

Due to his weakened state, Empoleon fired his attack early, giving Gogoat an easy chance to dodge and strike back, knocking out Empoleon and making Michael lose his first Pokémon of the Tourney.

Michael - "Well it was bound to happen..."
Michael then silently walked over to Empoleon.
Empoleon - "Sorry Michael. I wish I could've done more."
Michael - "Don't worry about it big guy. Just be proud of what you HAVE done to make it to this point."
The entire audience, along with Fauna and Abigail, applauded Michael as he helped Empoleon up, then assisted him off the battlefield into his Trainer's box. Michael then gently sat down Empoleon opposite of where Blaze was.
Blaze - "You doing ok there Empoleon?"
Empoleon - "I'm fine Blaze. Thanks for your concern."
Michael - "Now then. Tundra I choose you!"
Abigail - "Will you change Pokémon Fauna?"
Fauna - "No."

Fauna silently returned Gogoat.
Abigail - "All six of Fauna's Pokémon are knocked out, so the winner of the battle and moving on to the Round of 32 is Michael Masi!"
The entire crowd gave Michael, Empoleon, Blaze, and Tundra a standing ovation as they waved back. Michael then walked over and raised Fauna's hand, silently telling the crowd to give her a standing ovation too. Fauna and Michael walked to the edge of each side of the battlefield and bowed to the crowd as a thank you. They then returned to the locker room, followed by joining most of the party for lunch. They watched as the rest of their friends moved on to the next round. During dinner the Round of 32 matches were revealed, with Michael's opponent being Ina.
