I'm walking through the dark alleyways on the rougher side of Townsvile, it's currently 11pm at night on a Saturday...
Normally I am not out this late, Buttercup always took the night shifts because she was a night owl with all night classes. I couldn't sleep today, so I volunteered...
Why couldn't I sleep?
Well...
I just got out of a mentally exhausting relationship and that was all I could think about...
He had gone around behind my back while I was tirelessly working my way through college and my diffcult job to protect the city...
He said I wasn't around enough, just a bunch of bullshit excuses for being a shitty person...
I'm distracted tonight, probably not a good idea to be out here alone, but that didn't stop me...
I look up at the night sky and see no moon, but for the first time it was clear tonight...
Without the light from the moon, a normal person would have been blinded in the blackness, my eyes didn't need light to adjust...
It seemed like these alleyways were a never ending maze of concrete and brick walls...
They were also the golden gateways to almost every single criminal that breaths the same air as the city's oblivious citizens beyond this...
My mind finally took it's time to focus ahead of me and I see several figures walking my way, I wasn't ever nervous, but something in the pit of my stomach said that these figures weren't good and that I needed to turn around and walk the other way...
As you could guess... I didn't...
"Well looky here... If it isn't a do gooder on the bad side of town..." I knew the voice of Ace very well, of course I had to run into the gang green gang...
Now that they're walking closer, I see it's all of them walking towards me... Okay... 6 against one... I've taken them on alone before...
"I'm patrolling Ace... I'm doing my job, and I'm hoping you're taking a break from yours..." I say sarcastically, I knew that was a stretch, they were always keeping us busy... Well mainly Buttercup now...
I hated this job sometimes...
"Well toots... I'm just currently taking the guys out for a bit of fun... If you catch my drift..." His grin showed his sharp canines, Ace looked like a snake... how fitting, because in all aspects he certainly was one...
A cold blooded, egotistical snake...
"Fun huh..." I raised a brow, these criminals will always be criminals... every last one of them...
"Care to join us?" The offer was a red cape to a bull... He was taunting me... playing mind games...
I feel a sickend chill up my spine...
"I'm not looking for fun tonight... I know this game Ace and I'm not in the mood for you and your petty crimes..." My eyes hardened, they're all the fucking same, it didn't matter which one, they were all horrible people...
Just like that cheating peice of shit I that I used to be with...
"Aw sweet cheeks... We insist... That dress just says all sorts of fun underneath... Ain't nothing petty going on in this head here... I got something more... Exciting..." I then feel several pairs of arms around me in a split second, where the hell did they find the second to sneak up behind me?!
I really was distracted by everything and now I finally noticed that these guys have grown in strength since I last dealt with them, that was 3 years ago... I hadn't done anything more than stop simple robberies and monsters for the past few years to keep up with school!
Oh god... What was I doing... I made a mistake being alone! I wasn't thinking of how out of practice I was now!
I tried breaking my arms free so I could squeeze away, but Big Billy obviously got jacked since I last knocked him to the ground...
For the first time tonight my brain was 100% in the harsh reality... This was why Buttercup has been training so much... While I was distracted with life, the enemy was getting stronger...
"Let me go! Why the hell are you all so powerful? You weren't this strong before?" I glare at Ace...
"Black market drugs and a lil sometin from Him... Works great don't it? I mean... You ain't no Buttercup sunshine... She can keep up... Looks like the game is finally out playing you... You got hot though..." He smirks and I tried to stomp a foot.
The wall was my reward and my face almost collided with it...
"Hey!" All I could do was yell now...
"School really put you in the pits now babydoll... All that big brain activity made you lose your touch..." His pointed nose nuzzled my ear and I now feel sick to my stomach...
"I haven't lost my touch... You guys just did your version of cheating at the game..." I couldn't let him know I was afraid...
"I'd rather cheat than call it quits... Now what's under here..." I feel my skirt rise and I now am noticeably panicked...
"Your all dirty... All of you..." I whimper and he laughs at me, my heart starts racing...
"Dirty through and through... just like you're about to be..." I now also had the realization that he was not just taunting me, he wanted to full on assault me and my brain shut off...
I hated them...
I hated today...
I hated all of them...
Another voice brought back to reality!
"What the fuck are you assholes doing?" I've heard the voice before I just wish I could see who it was!
"Nothing but a good time ruff..." Ace chuckled darkly...
Oh fuck my life is that Brick?!
Of course another villain was here to take his turn!
"Looks like you're breaking the rules of the trade..." Brick's voice was angry and that shocked me.
"I make my own rules... Just because you and your brothers run this side doesn't mean you rule me!" He ripped my dress down the front to prove his point and my eyes closed this is not happening...
Hands started wandering and I wanted to throw up...
After a second the hands are off me and I'm on the ground! My eyes snapped open and I see Ace backed against the wall with Brick's hand on his throat and the rest of them cowering on the other side of the alley!
"Rape and assault are a no, and powerpuffs are off limits!" He growls and my eyes widened!
This was Brick...
A villain, scolding and threatening another villain...
I'm so confused my eyes started watering... I know I was traumatized, but I couldn't look away from his cold red eyes and unbelievable strength...
I was way out of my league here...
"Those powers Him gave you really went to your head huh..." Brick's tone was cold, but why did he stop Ace? Why did he care? He was born to not care about me, but why did this all play out this way?
Was Brick actually trying to save me!?
This was Brick... A villain since birth...
"I made those rules for a reason... And you just couldn't help yourself... You know how I feel about that Ace... I suggest you go back to the dump before I break a few important limbs..." He threw Ace across the alley and into the rest of the gang knocking them all to the ground!
They all run like roaches back into the darkness and I watched them until they were not in veiw anymore...
I then turned to meet Brick's blood red eyes staring down at me...
"You got weaker pink stuff..." He sighs and his hand reaches towards me, i jump backwards into the wall, still on the ground, my eyes are as wide as they can be and the fear was still there...
"Listen... I'm not hurting anyone right now..." He raised a brow with a frown, my eyes darted from my now exposed body and back to him, embarrassment and shame fills me to the brim and my eyes again started to flow with tears.
"I'm not going to hurt you..." His words sounded like a promise and I noticed he's not looking at my body he's looking into my eyes. So I finally let my hand take his and he pulled me from the ground.
I shivered and he pulled his hand away and took his sweater off and wrapped it around my much smaller frame.
He was obviously bigger than me, his muscular 6'2 frame dwarfed my 5'4 petite figure...
"You can't go home like this... Come on... Your sister will never shut up about this..." He sighs angrily, his arm was around me and ushering me down the alley...
"Where are we going?" I was nervous, but i trusted that nothing sinister was amiss, he literally covered me and stopped me from the worst thing that could ever happen...
"My house... It's at the end of this alley... My brothers are out... They won't see you..." He started walking faster...
Why was he bringing me there?
(Brick Pov)
She was way to vulnerable out here...
I had to get her dress and back on her side before another one finds her...
She wasn't on this side often so she was the new play thing on the block...
"Why are we going there?" Her voice was quiet...
"Because I got something to replace that tattered shred of pink on your body right now..." I needed to get her indoors.
"Why did you help me?" She sounded confused...
"Wasn't a fair fight..." I knew she'd be like this... It wasn't the same town anymore...
"You're right about that..." She looked down in shame...
"Don't base your abilities off a unfair advantage..." I rolled my eyes at her, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her... She was her own brand of pathetic right now...
"Oh..." She stopped talking and looked at the ground...
"That's your response huh?" This wasn't the Blossom I remember a few years back...
"I guess..." She was sullen, and I couldn't blame her...
"Any reason you came here by yourself?" Did she not know about this? Her sister was well acquainted...
"I was distracted and not thinking... It won't happen again... trust me..." She was the last person I expected to get distracted...
My house was finally in veiw
"Come on..." I usher her inside...
I didn't know what I gonna do but this was a start...
