A/N: After watching season 6 of 'AHS', I was inspired to write a sort of fanfusion of the Roanoke story with JCA. Don't fret. It won't include that disastrous second half where they tried to mimic Paranormal Activity. Warning: this will contain frightening descriptions. Might changed to M rating later on. ENJOY!

It was a crisp, sunny autumn morning in North Carolina, and archeologist Jackie Chan was walking through the woods, carrying a picnic basket, feeling incredibly happy. Ever since banishing the demon Shendu and his evil son Drago from Earth, everything has been much quieter now. No more talismans to hunt, no Shadowkhan to fight, and no villains to defeat. No worries.

"Hey tiger, if you're done daydreaming, I can carry that picnic basket for you, and you can carry me." A female voice smirked from behind. Jackie smiled as he glanced towards his J Team member and former thief, Viper.

"Well, if you insist." Jackie chuckled, handing the picnic basket to Viper and then scooping her up in his arms, walking the rest of the way to what was perhaps the most perfect picnic spot in the woods. "Ah, this is the best spot. The breeze and light just right. No trees blocking the way. No animals wanting table scraps or leftovers."

"Yes, it is pretty." Viper smiled lovingly at Jackie, who blushed as he set her down, then the two got out the picnic blanket and rolled it out on the grass for them to lay on. "So Jackie, I know you don't like me asking you this, but when are we going to tell Jade that we're dating?"

Jackie then blushed even harder. Ever since their last epic team up, Jackie and Viper finally started to date, wanting to see if their partnership would somehow blossom into romance. Even though they've only been dating for two weeks, sparks have been flying. They started to feel a connection they never felt before. And something that wasn't enhanced by being chased by demon heads or Dalon Wong. And so far, the only person who knew about this new connection was Jackie's friend, head of Section 13, Captain Augustus Black.

"I told you, Viper, when I feel like when the time is right." Jackie said, pulling out two glasses and a bottle of sparkling apple juice. "If I tell her now, she'll get all crazy with excitement."

"Well, of course she will!" Viper smiled. "She's been wanting us to hook up ever since we first met each other. She would be over the moon with this news."

"Viper, believe me, I do care about you, but we've only been dating for a few weeks. I don't want Jade to get excited then disappointed if we somehow fall apart." Jackie explained. "Can we just wait a couple more weeks?"

Viper sighed yet smirked. "OK, but she's going to piece two and two together eventually." She said. "You know Jade is pretty smart for someone her age."

"Yet she can never focus on her math homework." Jackie smirked, chuckling along with Viper. He then poured the sparkling apple juice into their glasses. "You know, there's one thing I do want to know about you: when did you first start to like me?"

"Well, I thought you would have known, but I have to guess when you fought those ninjas on that moose balloon during the parade on Thanksgiving." Viper smiled. "Nothing excites me more than a man who fights like a man." Jackie blushed yet smiled at that odd compliment. The two then gazed at each other's eyes before reaching towards each other slowly, savoring every moment until their lips connected. They enveloped each other in a slow, romantic kiss that lasted about 8 seconds. When their lips parted, Viper's eyes caught on something else near the woods that beckoned her to explore. "Now this I got to see!"

Jackie was confused as Viper got up and took off. "Viper! What about the food?" he complained.

"We'll eat it later!" Viper laughed, taking Jackie's hand and leading him out of the woods. "There's something you've got to see!" With that, the two ran through the woods till they stood in front of an abandoned colonial farmhouse. Upon first glance at it, Jackie and Viper were intrigued by it. "My, that's a beauty."

"It sure is." Jackie smiled. "From the looks of it, it apparently was built during the 1700s. But it doesn't look like a tourist attraction. It doesn't even have a monument near it." Jackie then noticed a sign that read, 'For Sale'. Clearly someone wanted somebody to buy that house.

"What do you say we go inside and take a look for some neat treasures?" Viper asked with a sly smile.

"Viper! We can't. We might get caught for trespassing!" Jackie scolded his girlfriend.

"Oh Jackie, somehow so tough with fighting, yet deep down a little scaredy cat." Viper smirked, tickling Jackie on the side, making him giggle. "Come on. No one will notice us."

Jackie sighed. "OK. But for just for a bit." He said before muttering, "No wonder Jade likes you. You two have a talent for trouble."

The two then entered the house, which was in great shape despite it gathering dust and cobwebs. The two traversed the inside for a bit. "My…it is very big." Viper smiled as she and Jackie walked into the dining room. The two then smiled at each other and held hands before going upstairs to the second floor. During the trek, a thought popped into Viper's head. "Say, you remember what you told me on our very first date?"

Jackie smiled as he remembered the day that he and Viper went out for breakfast. They talked about a lot of stuff during their first date, but Jackie wasn't sure where Viper was going with this. "About what?" he asked.

"That you were looking for a second hobby? Something besides archeology?" Viper smirked.

"Uh, yes." Jackie said, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, how about flipping houses?" Viper asked with a sly smile. "You can give this place a little makeover and sell it for more than what it's worth." Jackie then smiled, seeming intrigued with the idea. "Besides, I always thought you looked extra handsome when you were helping rebuild Section 13, using all those power tools."

Jackie quietly giggled at that. "Well, it would be a nice hobby." He said before frowning. "I don't know, Viper. It might take forever to redo this place."

"Hey, I'll help too." Viper encouraged. "We can be like those husband/wife home renovating couples from HGTV. Even though we're not married."

Jackie smiled at his girlfriend. "OK. We'll do it." He said, leaning in to give his girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips. But he thought there was no way he was going to be able to afford that house. But then again, what's life without a little risk?

A few days later, Jackie and Viper were back at the farmhouse, ready to auction for it. There was another group wanting that house too: a trio of hillbilly type people who were clearly locals of the area. The auctioneer stood on the porch to begin the auction. "The opening bid is $21,000. What's your bid, sir?" the auctioneer asked Jackie.

"Just one question sir: what does that include?" Jackie asked as Viper snuggled on his shoulder.

"It includes the ten acres all around the property. But you can't build on it." The auctioneer warned. "It's protected."

"I must say, for a very well kept farmhouse, the price seems to low." Jackie couldn't help but wonder out loud. "Surely there must be one slight problem with the property."

"Yes there is, chinks!" one of the hillbillies said insultingly. Jackie and Viper stared disapprovingly at the trio. "Hurricane damage."

"I apologize for my son. Believe me, we ain't racist in anyway." A hillbilly with a long beard and hat said. "But trust him, you don't want this house."

"I do accept your apology sir." Jackie smiled politely. "We bid $25,000."

The hillbilly with the beard glared at Jackie briefly before bidding. "$26,000." He said.

"Do I hear $27,000?" the auctioneer asked. Normally, Jackie would want to use reason in this situation. If the hillbilly clan outbid them, the best thing for him to do is to accept defeat and walk away. But he wanted to turn on Viper's romance for him in a new way possible.

"We bid $40,000!" Jackie smirked.

"$40,000. Going once, going twice." The auctioneer said. "Sold!" Jackie and Viper smiled and jumped and down for joy while the hillbilly trio glared at their direction, feeling extremely angry over being cheated by folks who weren't local to their area.

"If you had any common sense, you should just go back to China!" another of the hillbilly snorted before spitting in their direction.

"Sir, there is no need for that." Viper said curtly. There was nothing more despicable than someone being racist. The hillbilly trio then hopped back into their truck and drove off. As soon as they were gone, Jackie immediately frowned and turned sick, regretting his decision.

"Oh bad day." Jackie said. "Viper, this will all of my savings. I don't know about this anymore."

"Hey, chillax. What's life without risk?" Viper smiled reassuringly. "We just need to give it a trim here and there, maybe some fresh paint. Then we'll sell it so fast you won't even remember you had to use up all of your savings." Jackie groaned, feeling more sick by the moment. "Hey, I thought you wanted to try something new."

Jackie managed a little smile. "You're right. This might be fun." He said. The two shared a short sweet kiss as Viper went inside. As soon as she was gone, Jackie began to feel a chill down his spine and began to shake. His Uncle called it 'The Willies'. He sensed something dark near him. Something that didn't want him in that house. His heartbeat began to quicken along with his breathing as he slowly turned around to see if anyone was watching him.

"Hey! You coming in?" Viper called out. Once Jackie saw there was no one there, he smiled with relief and went inside. Once he did though, a man wearing a pig's head popped out and menacingly watched him walk into the house.
