With permission from HunterHQ I'm starting my own Yugioh story using his. Only difference is the names of the characters and monsters will be in English. I'll also add a few changes of my own.
(I cannot write what Frederick says in the English dub because of his heavy German accent, and for some reason the show left Netflix so I can't read the subtitles.)
Episode 0: Prologue
-Paradise City-
As the Sun rises over the sea, the light shines and within its view lies Paradise City, in all its glory where dueling has taken to heights greater than ever before. Thanks to the development of Solid Vision, Duelists have taken the art of dueling to the next level from Action Fields to working with Monsters, even experiencing the full effects of battles outside of normal holograms. Many Duel Schools lay spread out through the area and at the center of them was LID (Leo Institute of Dueling), the cream of the crop, with its very tower overlooking the entire City.
The tower wasn't the only thing overlooking the City however. Standing over the hills at the outskirts of the City was a young 14 year old boy.
He has blue eyes with spiky blue hair with red spikes on the front and sides of his hair. The front goes upwards. He also wears an open blue vest with light blue highlights on the sides, underneath is a black long sleeved buttoned up shirt, blue jeans, and yellow and blue shoes. Around his jeans were three sets of deck boxes and in his right arm was a Duel Disk. On his other arm was a small rucksack with his belongings. Around his neck was a blue scarf.
?: So this is Paradise City…
He reached out into each of his deck boxes and took out 3 special cards.
?: Well guys, we made it, though it was a long journey and we made plenty of memories and experience coming here, this is where the fun really begins!
The three cards began to glow as he spoke to them.
?: Who would've thought we'd finally made all the way here?
He began to remember how all of this started.
-Flashback-
At a small cottage in the mountainside, that very same boy was busy riding his bike up the hill back to it.
?: Grampa! I'm home!
Stepping out of the house was an elderly man wearing an old Cowboy hat and dressed in a sort of countrymen style, also wearing long brown boots suited for mountain work. As well as wearing long brown jeans.
Grampa: Well, well, look who's back!
He walked to meet with his grandson.
Grampa: Did you get everything I asked from the Town?
?: Yep! Here's the parts you wanted from the local junk dealer.
He handed the bag that had the parts over to the man.
Grampa: You did a fine job my boy, now I'll get to work on that old Duel Disk for you.
After hours and work of tinkering, the man handed the finished Disk back to the boy.
Grampa: Well then, why don't you give a little test run and see if it works. It's been years since I last used a Duel Disk, now I'm so weak I can barely stand up straight for more than three minutes.
He patted his back to prove his point.
Grampa: But you, you should be able to succeed where I couldn't and live out your life and dreams to the fullest with nothing holding you back! Just promise me that you will.
?: I promise, and I will also see every obstacle to the end and never forget to have fun dueling!
The old man smiled at that.
Grampa: I know you won't.
He saw the boy take off down the road on his bike and disappeared.
Grampa: Oh, 14 years have passed and he grew so fast!
He remembered years ago during a clear night. He was busy rocking his chair while gazing at the stars, and he almost dozed off until at the north of his house he saw a pillar of light rising up ahead before vanishing. He was so shocked that he fell off his chair, before quickly regaining his composure and hurried off to the site. He reached where the pillar of light came from but found nothing or anything that could tell him where that pillar of light came from. Before he decided to go back he heard a strange sound coming from behind the bushes. When he approached and took a look he was startled at what he found.
Laying there on a basket was a baby boy, helpless and uncovered except for an old torn blanket covering half of his body, and was crying out in the cold night. The man hurried and took a look around to find that no one was present, probably abandoned the child and took off. Strangely enough, the man also noticed what looked like a birthmark the shape of a Dragon head on his left arm. It was blue, showed two eye sockets, two horns and a pointed snout.
Before dwelling on angry thoughts of the despicable act he saw a cards scattered around the basket. It showed a humanoid Dragon with platinum hide on his upper body, shoulders, forearms and forelegs, and the edges of his wings. The membranes on his wings are black like his uncovered hide up to his lower jaw and tail, and the two black horns that's behind his head. His four fingered hands and three fingered feet has blue claws and his Dragonic eyes are blue with black sclera, and on his chest was a glowing blue diamond gem. He quickly gathered the two cards and grabbed the basket holding the baby and calmly walked back to his house.
As the years passed by the boy grew fit and strong, helping out around the town whenever he could, so much that even the man began teaching him the art of Dueling. One day though, the boy claimed he could hear Duel Monsters talking, hearing voices from the very cards. The townsfolk soon began to think of him as weird and crazy, even claiming the man himself to be the most insane! The man however, knew better, for he's a retired Duelist, card collector, and Treasure Hunter, so he knew legends of card spirits and how Duel Monsters is much more than a mere game. For years he refused the boy the freedom to venture out but finally on his 14th Birthday, the man finally decided what was for the best.
Grampa: I want you to experience the outside world, and who knows, maybe you may find out where you came from on this journey. But don't worry, I won't be sending you off empty handed.
The old man walked over to an old chest and took out two old boxes.
Grampa: Take a look inside. These two decks were meant to be with two of your strongest Monsters.
The boy took a look at the cards and was awed at them.
Grampa: These were once my most prized cards, but now they're pretty much forgotten in today's time.
The boy was surprised his Grandpa would give him these cards.
?: But, I can't possibly take what you hold so dear!
Grampa: It's alright. I trust you with them, I am certain of it.
The boy took the deck that will assist his two powerful Dragons.
The man regained his senses as he looked back at the road where the boy went.
Grampa: I wish you all the best. May your journey and dreams take you beyond here and may your three Dragons guide and protect you, Ryuga.
As time went on, Ryuga began to master his cards and skills, fine tuning his strategies with opponents both weak and strong, but also never forgetting to have fun, helping others in need and putting a stop to those who abuse dueling. He can also hear the voices of the Monsters that were being used by the abusive Duelist, and after defeating their owners…
Ryuga: Your Monster is crying, it has been mistreated terribly! You don't deserve to call yourself a Duelist!
As he said this, the birthmark on his arm glowed blue and when he raised his hand, the card flew out of the opponent's deck and into his hand. While some ran away at the sight, others ran at Ryuga with force, only to be met with the shadows of three Dragons glaring and roaring at them menacingly!
Friendly Duelist: Heh, heh… that was a really good duel, I see you really care for your cards.
Ryuga: Thanks, you were great too! You almost had me!
The Duelist then gave him a card.
Friendly Duelist: Here, a reward for your efforts. Take this.
-End of Flashback-
-Paradise City-
After gathering a large sum of cards and skills, Ryuga now found himself at Paradise City, where dueling is taken to a whole new extreme. Looking at one of his cards, his personal Dragon, now no longer just an effect border, but also aquamarine green underneath, with a pair of triangles, one red and blue with a number 4 stated at their sides.
Ryuga: Well Bahamut, seems like this is the place we've been searching all this time, and we're finally here. Look out Paradise City, because here we come!
Ryuga was excited as he ran ahead, and behind him, the Spirits of a white and black Dragon, soon followed by Bahamut in the middle, chased after him.
Alright, I've finished with the prologue. I'll also make another Cinema were the characters using the new duel format will appear.
