Chapter 1: Rebirth of the king

A/N: This is my first fan-fic, so if the writing is ass you know why. I just had an idea that wouldn't get out of my head so I decided to just write something to get it out of my head. i have a general idea on where this fic is gonna go, but I think this will (spoiler) focus on Baraggan rebuilding Hueco Mundo after Aizen's rule, since it just felt like Kubo just scrapped all of Hueco Mundo after Quilge's fight. I also really like Baraggan, since he reminds me of another skeleton from another anime *Ahem (Overlord). But yeah I have no fucking idea if I'll actually do something with this story or not. But read if you want, idrc.

Barragan was on the brink of defeat. His absolute power turned against him by Hachigen Ushoda transferring his decaying arm into Barragan, slowly rotting away from his own Respira.

"You... ANT!" Barragan shouted, full of hate, as he exploded and started decaying. "You will pay! You will pay! You ants will pay!"

"In the Soul Society there are no gods except the Soul Reapers." Hachigen said calmly to Barragan, who barely registered his words. "That's why we can't fathom the meaning of your words, calling yourself a god. Please forgive our impiety... God of Heuco Mundo."

With those words, Barragan saw flashes and memories, mostly of his humiliation at the hands of Soskue Aizen and his Soul Reaper allies, and remebering the pure emptiness before that. His hatred and wish to kill Aizen being his drive, he became a full Arrancar, and strove to reclaim everything he had lost: His title, his home, and most of all, his pride.

"You will die by my hands, I swear it." Barragan thought. "I will make you regret giving me power. I am a king. I am a god. I will never die.

With all the power he had left, he threw his axe at Aizen, searching for his head, but he never knew, his eyes decaying before he saw, but he knew that it was futile.

-Somewhere, an unknown amount of time later-

Barragan awoke. He was in his ressurecion form, his true form. Everything around him was black, an empty void. He looked around in confusion.

"What is this!?" Barragan shouted in anger. "I know someone's there, show yourself!"

"How pitiful Barragan. You scream and whine like an infant. A dark voice said, echoing in the void. Are you really the king of Hueco Mundo? Or sorry, were. The voice cackled.

"You... You DARE!" Barragan shrieked. "Who do you think you are, ant?!"

"Your arrogance still astounds me, Barragan." The voice said. "How can you still act that way after you've lost everything? You lost your title, your freedom, your home, your weapon, your power, your PRIDE.

Barragan visibly deflated. "Did you just come here to insult me? Barragan asked. "To insult and stomp on a disgraced king?

"Oh no Barragan, I am here to make you great again, because you failed the first time.

"Oho? And how should I do that?" Barragan asked incredously. "I died to that large kido beetle and that puny ant of a captain."

"I willl tell you, but first I will reveal myself." The voice said.

A figure stepped out of nowhere in front of Barragan. The figure was taller than Barragan, and had robes in form similar to Barragan's, but different. The robes were fancier, not ragged like Barragan's, and had different colors, the figure's being as black as the sky of Hueco Mundo, with small stars blinking everywhere on the robe. The top was also different, being the same but with gold decorating the edges and designs etched onto the surface, of luxury and wealth. It's hands were covered in fancy white gloves, which with contrasted the black robes like the moon in a night sky, and had multiple jewels on the knuckles. It's head had a fancy mask on, which was a jet black steel with bright silver designs that made it look like it's robes. The most distracting thing was the big red gem in the middle of the helmet, being so large so it covered almost the entire front side of the mask. A large crimson slit in the middle made it look like an eye. It also had a necklace that resembled Barrgans old exactly, which he found strange.

"Who... are you?" Barragan asked

"Amusing that you don't know me." The figure sighed. "I'll just tell you, as you seem to be too dull. Barragan Louisenbairn, I am your zanpakuto, Arrogante."

"What?" Barragan said. "You resemble me, but I've never talked with my zanpakuto, they're just tools for fighting."

"No, we are not that, but it makes sense given your dullnes. Arrogante sighed. "Anyways, back to the point at hand, I want to make you great, as you were a dissapointment to me.

"A dissapointment?" Barragan said, shocked and furious. "I was the king of Hueco Mundo! The Segunda Espada! I was a god!"

"No, this is why I see you as a failure." Arrogante said. "You are arrogant, plain and simple. You wielded me, a blade whose name means arrogant, but you are not truly arrogant."

"What do you mean by that!?" Barragan shouted.

"To be arrogant in my eye, it means to have the power to uphold your pride, and to assert dominance over others, and be the one at the top of the chain." Arrogante said. "But when you don't have power and are arrogant, that isn't arrogance, just delusion. If you look at kings, mighty warriors and leaders, they all have arrogance. Every strong person has arrogance, even to a small degree, because to be arrogant is to believe in your own strength and pride, and to use that strength for yourself, that is true arrogance. But as everything else does, arrogance corrupts, dictators, kings, warriors, heroes, gods have fallen and been slain due to too much arrogance, and you are one of them. Your arrogance led to all of your defeats, you uderestimated Aizen and lost your title, home and most of your pride. When you fought Soi-Fon and Hachigen Ushoda your arrogance agian led to your defeat, and there you lost your life, your weapon and the rest of your pride. That is why you are not truly arrogant, and is why you are a fool and dissapointment.

Barragan clenched his fists. "Why tell me this now?" He asked quietly. "Why... tell me this if I'm already dead?"

"That, is where you are again wrong." Arrogante said. "Even if you are a dissapointment, that means that you had potential, that you yourself didn't even know. You are much more than what you were when you died, but in order to achieve that you need to learn and change."

"In what way?" Baraggan

"You will be reborn," Arrogante declared. "And you, Barragan Louisenbairn, will become the true 9th king of Hueco Mundo, and bring pride to your predeccesors...

A/N: I guess that's it. I think you can guess what the next chapter's gonna be.
