Is That…
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this story. That all belongs to J.K. Rowling.
The door of the Three Broom Sticks flew open as two wizards started throwing hexes in every direction.
'Where is he?' the first one yelled as sparks flew down on the patrons of the bar.
'I saw that no good, cold hearted ferret run in here.' The second one growled, as five aurors stood and pointed wands at the two intruders.
'What are you yelling about.' Harry snarled at the men.
'Draco Malfoy came in here and I want his hide for what he did to us.' the first one snarled. 'Because of him we are broke and homeless.'
'Cassius Flint your father is to blame not Draco.' Marcus Flint spoke. 'Our fathers followed the wrong side. We tried to stay on the right side.'
'But Draco….' Damitri sputtered.
'He did what he had to, to survive. To save his mother and you know it.' Marcus snapped back.
'Now who's paying for all of the damage to my bar?' Rosemerta yelled at the crowd, as she put the last of the fires out.
'Don't worry, they will be.' Harry smiled.
'Didn't you hear me we are broke the ministry took every last knut.' Cassius snarled.
'Well then you will be doing it by hand… the muggle way.' Harry grinned.
'Um. Harry I want to add personal injury to a muggle.' as Hermione held up her hand to show a burn mark. But hesitated slightly as something bumped into her leg and scurry up it. 'Anybody else get hurt?' Hermione quickly looked down to see white fur climb into the pocket of her hoodie. She could feel it shivering in fear. She looked around to the rest of the patrons. About a dozen people raised their hands. 'Um, looks like seven counts of muggle injuries and five counts of half-blood injuries.'
'You stupid mudblood I didn't aim at you.' Cassius snarled.
'No but I, we were injured at your carelessness coming into a building firing off spells.' Hermione spoke with authority. 'And as a member of law enforcement, I will be adding using the M word as it has been declared a forbidden word. Marcus are you ok taken your cousin in?' She looked questioningly over to him.
'Yes, ma'am I will gladly take my cousins, Casius and Dimitri in. I will have all of the paperwork on your desk by Monday morning.' as three aurors escorted the men out.
'Wow what a day.' Harry said as he collapsed beside his wife Pansy.
'Well, I didn't expect that. Cassius was just a kid during the war.' Pansy told the table.
'Stupid pureblood.' Ron snarled.
'Oi, we are purebloods.' Pansy snarled at him.
'Ron he was just a kid and only has the bias stories to go by.' Hermione scolded him.
'Harry?' as Hermione looked down and pulled the edge of her pocket out to show white fur.
'Draco?' Harry mouthed as Hermione nodded.
'Did you just say Draco? He's here?' Ron sputtered, the table shushed him.
'What you're protected him now?' Ron snarled at Hermione.
'Shut it, Ron. He apologized to both me and Harry a long time ago and he tried to apologize to you.'
'He owes you more than an apology.' Ron snarled. 'Everything he did to you.'
'At least he apologized, you still haven't apologized to us.' Hermione quipped back.
'For what?' Ron snarled.
'Well let's see…expecting her to do your homework, treating her like shite at the yule ball and the biggest one leaving us during the hunt for horcruxes.' Harry snarled. 'All you did was complained about how bad the food was… how bad the conditions were. Hermione did her best with what we had. I didn't see you out there helping collect food.'
'Fine, I'm sorry. Are we ready to go home?' as he got up to leave.
'Yea Ron we will be there in a minute.' Hermione said as she pulled Harry over.
'Yea Ron don't worry, I'll get the bill.' to Ron's backside.
'I sure hope you two don't accept that sorry excuse of an apology from the Mooch.' Pansy snarled.
'Nope, I'm about over his attitude.' Harry said as he threw a galleon down on the table.

Hermione pulled the white ferret out of her pocket and placed him on the sofa, when they arrived at Grimmauld Place.
'Draco you're safe to change back now.' nothing happened. 'Are you stuck?' the ferret stomped his little feet. 'Oh? Does stress cause this?' Hermione looked around to Harry and Pansy.
'I don't know, I guess we need to ask Minerva in the morning.' as the ferret started to chatter. 'Draco I can't owl her this late at night.' Harry told the fussing ferret. 'You can sleep here tonight and then we will go see Minnie tomorrow morning.'
'Yea, I'll put you in my room.' Hermione added.
'You brought him here?' Ron bellowed as he entered the library.
'Yes, Ron where am I supposed to leave him? At the bar? On the street?' Hermione snarled.
'Fine he can stay the one night and he is not sleeping in our room.' Ron snarled at the ferret.
'First of all, it is my room, and you cannot tell me who I can have in my bed, seeing as you have had Lavender in your bed numerus times. So, sod off.'
'Fine, I'm going...' Ron turned.
'To Lavender's.' Pansy cut him off. Everybody laughed as his face turned red before stomping off to the floo.
'Well, there is nothing we can do until morning so goodnight.' Pansy walked over to Draco and picked him up and nuzzled into his fur making kissing noises. 'Good night, Draco.' She started to giggle as the ferret started to fight her. 'He would never let me do that any other time so I'm going to get him now.' Pansy handed him to Hermione giggling. 'Are you coming Harry?'
'Yea, see you two in the morning.' Harry said as they walked up the stairs to their room.
'Well Draco if you promise to behave yourself you can sleep in bed with me. If you misbehave you will sleep in the hallway. Do you understand?' She could see him gulp and then nod. As she placed him on the pillow next to hers before going to get ready for bed. When she came back into the room he was curled up and shivering on the pillow.
'Aw Draco are you cold or just nervous you might be stuck like this?' as she pulled the pillow over to spoon it, allowing Draco to curl up against her chest. She felt him purr as he snuggled in for the night.
~o~
'Good morning, how can I help you?' Minerva asked as she escorted them up to her office.
'Well, we have a little problem.' as Hermione pulled the ferret out from under her hair. 'Um Draco is stuck, he can't transform back.'
'Oh Draco… Was this done under stress?' she asked.
'Yes.' as they told her the reason for the change.
'Oh… well that would be the reason not to be able change back. If you just spend time relaxing and should be able to change back soon enough.' Minerva said with a grimace. 'So, it looks like you have a pet for a few days.' Draco started to stomp around the desk barking.
'I'm sorry Draco, I'll take good care of you until you can change back.' as she picked him up a snuggled him to her chest. He fought it at first but then gave up seeing it was getting him nowhere. 'Thank you, Minnie.'
'Any time dearie if he hasn't changed back in a few days let me know so I can start researching solutions.' Minerva said as the bell rang. 'Well, I need to get to my next class.'
~o~
'What do ferrets eat?' as Hermione plated breakfast. 'Oh well its bacon and eggs for today.' As the ferret jumped onto the plate and started to eat. 'And hopefully be back to normal soon. If not, I guess we need to go get ferret food.' Draco stomped his little feet. 'Oi I'm just looking out for your health, bacon and eggs are probably not on the recommended ferret diet.' She pointed her finger at him as he charged it and growled.
'Oh, good he's gone.' as Ron flopped down on the sofa next to Hermione. 'I can't stand the ferret as a ferret or as Draco himself.' Just as Draco crawled up the back of the sofa and crawled down Ron's arm. The whole house could hear him scream like a girl.
'Argh. It's still here?' Ron jumped up off the sofa, dancing around trying to dislodge the ferret from his arm. Harry, Pansy and Hermione laughing.
'Draco, come here leave him alone.' As Hermione got up and pulled him off of Ron. 'Bad ferret, no biting.' as Hermione stifled a giggle.
'Oi, Ron started it let Draco finish it.' Pansy giggled. Ron had pulled his wand out and pointed it on the ferret.
'Ronald Weasley you harm one hair on his cute furry arse and I will hex you into next week.' Hermione snarled.
'Cute arse? Really?' Ron sputtered.
'Well yes, Draco did have a cute arse.' Hermione blushed.
'I second that.' Pansy smiled.
'Hey?' Harry whined.
'Well, he did but yours is so much better.' Pansy smirked. 'That's why I married you.'
'I'm not staying here if he is still here. Harry, you coming?' Ron asked.
'Can Pansy come?' knowing the answer.
'Ginny is home and is still mad at you for dumping her?' Ron said.
'I didn't dump her, she cheated on me. And if she can't accept it then no, I won't be coming over.'
'Fine I'm going…' as Pansy interrupted him.
'To Lavender's.' as she grinned.
'Well now that he's left what are we doing today?' Hermione asked the room. 'I was thinking about taking Draco to the park.' As ferret Draco ran up her arm and settled himself on her shoulder. 'And then rent a movie. So, we can just have a relaxing day and then maybe he can change back?'
'Oh, that does sound good. I'll make some cookies and popcorn to snack on.' Pansy smiled. 'Yes, Draco I'll make some of them chocolate chip, just for you.' as she kissed the top of his head.' Hermione could hear him growl.
~o~
'Miya we're back.' Harry yelled.
'We picked up Indian. I got you the curry you like.' Pansy squealed as a ball of fur ran up her leg and landed on her shoulder. Ferret Draco was barking and stomping his little feet. 'Oi, what is your problem?'
'Oh, he's mad I gave him a bath and now he smells of lavender.' Pansy grabbed Draco a sniffed and then held him up for Harry to smell.
'Nice.' Harry smirked as Draco tried to lunge at him.
'He thought it would be fun to roll in mud and then crawl up my leg.' Hermione grinned. 'Yes, I could have magicked him clean but what fun would that be?' she grinned again.
'And see he does have a cute furry arse.' Pansy giggled as she turned the ferret around and held up his tail. That warranted a swipe of his claws. 'Bad Draco.' as she flipped him over and kissed his belly.' to get laughing from the others.
They ate dinner and then watched the movies, Draco stood on Hermione's knees dodging all of the cars racing towards them.
'I think he's enjoying these.' Harry smirked. 'I guess we need to take him to the cinema to watch these on the big screen.'
'I think he would love that.' Pansy smiled.
'Well guys I think this guy has enough for today.' Hermione held up a sleeping ferret.
~o~
Hermione woke to a ferret draped across her neck. She readjusted him so she could go to the loo. Curling back up around a sleeping ferret, who in turn snuggled into her for the warmth. She re-woke later with a ferret snuggled in between her boobs.
'You didn't tell me he was a boob man, Pans.' Hermione giggled as she entered the kitchen.
'You lucky ferret.' Harry exclaimed. Draco's little head spun around to see Pansy's reaction.
'What she has terrific tits. I still can't figure out why Harry didn't marry her instead.'
'Eww, she like my sister.' Harry shivered at the thought of anything romantic with Hermione.
'Are we still going to…' Pansy asked.
'Yea Ginny is off playing a game today.' Harry grinned. 'You're taking him?' The ferret's little head was spinning between the three trying to figure out what was planned.
'Yes, if I have to go then he has to go. Besides he can sneak up on Ron and scare the shite out of him again.' Pansy grinned. Draco started to dance at the thought of scaring Ron again.
'Everybody ready?' Pansy hollered up the stairs.
'Why are you so happy? You always hate going over to the burrow.' Harry quipped as he came down the stairs.
'Draco gets to torment Ron and nope you are not riding on Miya's shoulder. He will see you.' As she plucked Draco off of Hermione's shoulder and stuffed him in her bag.
'Oi, there you lot are I've been waiting for you.' Ron tried to hug Hermione, but she had pulled back. 'What got the ferret with you?' as he pulled her hair up to check for white fur. "Good you left IT at home.' Pansy grinned at the action in a "I told you so" They all went into the living room and collapsed onto the sofas. 'So did the ferret finally change back or just left him there?' as Ron swung his arm up and around Hermione's shoulders. As soon as Pansy put her bag down Draco had slinked around to the back of the sofa. 'I would have just handed him over. Why protect him? After what all he has done to you. You should…' Ron didn't get to finish the sentence for a blur of white fur jumped on him. 'Argh get it off. It's biting me! Get'em off!' Ron shot up off his seat and was dancing around trying to remove the ferret as it barked and clawed him. To the amusement of the others.
'Ronald Weasley how could you? He has apologized and in all reality, you treated me just as bad.' Ron spun to look at her and Draco jumped to Hermione's shoulder.
'What I did no such thing.' Ron growled.
'Yes, you did… She's a nightmare, no wonder she has no friends, does she even know how to cook?' Harry stood up to face Ron. 'Yes, Draco called her the m word but he was brought up to think that but as soon as he realized his mistake he apologized, to both of us.' pointing to him and Hermione.
'You know we all have grown up but you. Ron, the war has changed all of us, you need to leave the past in the past. I have tried to help change the laws. I'm tired of working my arse off only to have you still living in the past. I'm done with it all. Just move on and accept Draco's apology.'
'I'm not accepting it and never will.' Ron bellowed.
'Fine, I'm done.' Hermione stood tall at her proclamation. She turned to leave. 'See you two at home.'
'Where are you going? You are my girlfriend.' Ron whined.
'Home... You are not my boyfriend, never have been. If you were my faithful boyfriend, you wouldn't always go running to Lavender.'
'Oh no you are not leaving me here.' Pansy screeched as she too rose to her feet to leave. 'See you at home honey.' giving Harry a kiss on the cheek.
'Um, I'm sorry but… Ron I tired of listening to you harp on about "them" hopefully it is all of us now the war is over. You have helped me decide to leave the aurors. I think Hermione's dream of owning a shop, sounds grand right about now.' Hermione spun around almost dislodging Draco.
'Harry?' Hermione questioned.
'Well, your dream was you owning a shop for books, potions and I think there were a few other ideas but yea I want to back your dreams if you let me? And when you're ready to leave the ministry, you can come help.'
'But… Can we add a clothing section so Pansy has something to do as well?' Harry looked to Pansy.
'Of course, can't forget Pansy.' She grinned at his wife. 'We are opening a catch all shop, you need it we will get it.' as they all hugged. 'Bye Ron.' They said in unison as they turned to leave. The ferret was dancing on Hermione's shoulder as they left the house.
'Draco, I hope we can change you back but if we don't just know you will always have a home here, I promise to take care of you.' As she pulled him into her chest and covered them for bed. She felt him huff as he snuggled in bed. "Was that huff because you realize someone cares for you?' as she pulled him in closer. 'Goodnight Draco sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite.' She felt him twitch. 'Hey, you'd be the one to bring fleas into the bed.' She felt him wrestle against her for thinking he had fleas. 'Oh, quit it, I know you don't have fleas I bathed you, remember?' They both settled and fell asleep.
~o~
'Thank you for seeing us again, Minerva.' Hermione said as they sat down in front of her desk.
'So, he couldn't change back?'
'No ma'am.' Harry said. "He's had a fairly quiet weekend and nothing.'
'Draco this is a stupid question, but did you learn how to be an animagus?' Minerva asked the white ferret on her desk, he shook his head. 'So, this might not be in his control. Let me try something.' With a wave of her wand. 'Finite Incantatem.' nothing happened. 'By any chance could this be a spell casted by one of the men?' Harry, Pansy and Hermione looked between them.
'Um, yea it could have been.' Harry spoke.
'I think I remember one of them saying they wanted the cold hearted ferret. Could that have, been it?' Hermione looked around.
'Oh… well then you need to speak to him and see what spell he used.'
'Well, that will be a problem… we let him go this morning.' Harry said with a grimace. As Pansy slapped his arm. 'Well when we questioned him this morning and checked his wand, he had not started any of the fires. Cassius was the only one we were able to charge with damages. And knowing Flints cousin he has fled the country for now. I will ask Marcus if he knows where he might have gone. So what now?'
'Really you're going to ask… library obviously.' Pansy said as she grinned at Hermione.
'Yes, well let's try this first.' As Minerva stood and rounded the desk. 'If we all perform the Finite Incantatem and see if the combined power will reverse the spell.' As they all stood.
'Hold on as Hermione looked thru her bag and pulled out a scarf and wrapped it around the ferret. 'What I don't think Draco would apricate us seeing is bits.' They all looked at her. 'Well Pansy seen them, Harry seen them in the locker room but I don't think I nor Minerva needs to see them.' Getting a nod from Minerva.
'Thank you, now that is taken care of let's do this. All at once…'
'Finite Incantatem.' Was said by all four in the room. The look on their faces said it all.
'It didn't work. Sorry Draco,' Hermione picked him up and snuzzled his fur. We will head over to the library and see if we can find anything useful, Harry will see if he can find Dimitri.'
'And I will ask the other professors if they have heard of a switching spell.' Minevra added. 'Owl me tomorrow and we can see where we go from there.'
'Wait a minute, do you have the book "So you have a wizard in the family?"' Hermione asked Minerva.
'Yes, right here. I take it with me when I go to muggle homes... Why?'
'Harry said his wand was not used so could it be accidental magic?' as Hermione flipped thru the book.
'Yes, it could happen.' Professor Filtwick said as he entered the room.
'Here it is accidental magic. In times of stress, uncontrolled magic can happen in young wizards under the age of twenty.' Hermione looked up to all in the room.
'Do you remember his exact words?' Flitwick asked.
'Um..' as Hermione closed her eyes trying to recall the night. 'No good, cold hearted ferret.'
'Ok, if I remember correctly, adding feelings into it, compounds the effect. The wizard felt that Draco is no good and cold hearted. So, to counter act the spell we need to prove the statement wrong. Do you understand?' Flitwick looked to the room.
'Yes? … we need to disprove the statement?' Hermione smiled.
'Yes' Flitwick clapped in his excitement.
'So as to the cold hearted… he would not have apologized to us for the past treatment?' Hermione spoke with authority.
'Yes, perfect. Keep going, what else has he done to prove he is good and caring.' Flitwick smiled.
'He did not take the mark willingly, he took the mark to save his family, that is not cold nor heartless.' Minerva stated.
'He lied to his parents and aunt to save our lives.' Hermione whispered as she hugged the ferret. 'At the risk of his own life.'
'Definitely not cold hearted.' Flitwick stated.
'He would not have played chess with Harry to comfort him in his loss of his friend?' Pansy added.
'He played chess?' Minerva asked.
'Yea, he climbed up on the table and set the board up, he started barking at me to get me to play.' Harry grinned at the memory. 'He knew I was upset that Ron is a tosser.'
'Yes, if he was cold hearted, he would not care for Harry's feelings.' Flitwick smiled.
'Well, I can say he's definitely not "No good, cold hearted" I was upset for him and he came over to console me… the mudblood. He came up and put his paws on my chest and chattered away. It felt like he was consoling me.' As she sniffed back a tear. The ferret climbed up to repeat the act, paws on her face and started to chatter at her. 'See? Mad at me for worrying about him.' POP! Draco was sitting on Hermione's lap, stark naked well except for a shear scarf wrapped around his waist.
'Thanks' Draco whispered into her ear. Flustered, she pulled her beaded bag up and pulled some clothes from her bag. And handing them to Draco. As he hugged her.
'Thank you.' As he climbed off of her to go get dressed.
'Welcome back Mr. Malfoy, Sorry to run but I need to get back to my classroom.' Flitwick said as he left the room.
'Minerva? So would this incident mean Dimitri's magic has not stabilized properly?' Draco asked as he came back fully clothed.
'Basically yes, the stress of life has most likely affected all of the children of war.' Minerva sniffed back a tear.
'Well then how do we fix that?' Draco asked.
'See he's not cold or heartless.' Pansy giggled.
'Well… they… we should get mind healers and counselors to talk to the students. Get them to realize that the decisions we made during the war was to survive themselves or for their families lives.' Minerva wrote a note. 'I will get right on this. All present and past student need to be evaluated to see where their minds are in this mess.'
'I will make sure Marcus gets his cousin in to see a counselor and talk out his issues.' Harry said as he got up. 'Well, I will see you three at home tonight. And big thank you for all of your help Minnie.' Harry stepped over to his old professor to give her a hug.
'You're including me?' Draco sputtered.
'Well yea, I need someone to play chess with since you did run Ron off.' Harry grinned. 'I do need a new best friend, if you're interested?'
'Well, I guess I could fill that position as long as that tosser won't be coming around.' Draco grinned 'Wait... Minerva can you teach me to be an Animagus, so I can torment Ron when and if he comes over?' Draco sported a huge grin.
'Hate to burst your bubble he will most likely never be back.' Hermione giggled at the thought of Draco tormenting Ron.
'I'm sorry I lost your friendships.' Draco hung his head.
'Unfortunately, this was going to happen at some point. Ron is stuck in the past and also needs to see a counselor.' Harry said as he placed his hand on Draco's shoulder.
'Aww, Draco has a heart.' Pansy whined, as Draco tried to hug and kiss her. 'Eww, I'm married now and you like Granger so why are you bothering me?' she shrieked.
'He doesn't like me.' Hermione screeched.
'Yea then why was he always complaining about you in school? Why has he spent all of his time this past week with you? Not me, you? He could have come slept with me, yes Harry would have grumbled but would have understood the circumstances and let him sleep on the bed with us. NO, he slept all cuddled up next to you each and every night?' Pansy snarked. Hermione blushed at the news being spoken.
'Well Let's get out of here and let Minerva get back to her charges.' Draco said with a slight blush at the truth.
~o~
'Um… can I ask you guys something?' Draco paused his fork going to his mouth. 'Could I stay here? The manor is…'
''Don't you already live here?' Pansy snarked.
'I've only been here because of a little furry problem and had nowhere else to go.' Draco snarked back. 'Don't worry Pans I will be out of your hair tonight.'
'Pansy,' Harry growled. 'Yes of course, you can stay here as long as you want or until Hermione kicks you out.' Harry grinned.
'Oi, I was joking. No, she'll just change him back into a ferret if he pisses her off.' Pansy said with a grin.
'Hermione would it bother you for me to stay here?' Draco asked, she shook her head.
'I know the feeling of not feeling at home in your own home due to memories. So yes, you can stay here.' Hermione wiped a tear away, knowing the reasons Draco dreaded going back to the empty, nightmare filled mansion. Dinner was finished a movie watched.
'Good night you two I've a busy day tomorrow, Miya, I'm turning in my two-week notice. I'm tired of fighting other people's problems, and with Ron still there it will make for a very uncomfortable day. Are you still interested in opening a shop?'
'I thought you were joking.' Hermione gasped.
'Nope.' Popping the p, 'I'm tired of it all. I can sit back and watch our money roll in.'
'You know that will take time, right?' Hermione asked.
'Yup.' Popping the p again. 'We have money so we have all of the time in the world. You and Draco brewing, me ordering potion ingredients and Pansy designing and selling her stuff. We will be just fine in time, no stress easy peasy days.' Harry grinned at the thought of a quiet day of work.
'Well, if you are really thinking about doing this then yea, I'm in.' Hermione smiled.
'Draco you want to brew for us?' Harry looked over to him.
'If you all want me then yea, I'll help.' Draco smiled.
'We do. So, with that settled I guess we need to put our notices in. And then start looking for a shop.' Harry smiled.
'Guys I'm sorry but I'm done for the day, I'm going to bed. You joining me husband?' Pansy said as she yawned.
'Night guys see you in the morning.' As harry wiggled his eyebrows and turned.
'I saw that and no you're not getting any tonight.' Pansy snarked from the stairs. Followed by Harry nodding his head and rolling his eyes. Hermione started to giggle.
'So, was that code for?' Draco asked.
'Yup. Harry is getting laid. She aways says no but they always come downstairs in the morning with smiles on their faces.' Hermione giggled at Draco's shiver.
'Hey can we talk?'
'Yea.' She answered.
Do you think I could sleep in your bed? I have been having bad…' Hermione cut him off.
'Nightmares? Yea the first night here you had one not sure if it was because of the day or the war?' he shrugged. 'Well, you helped me sleep better too so yea you can sleep in my bed.' As she pulled him up the stairs to her room. He stopped her.
'I don't have proper sleep clothes.' He looked worried.
'Pans put a pair of Harry's on the bottom step.' As she held up a pair of red and gold sleep pants.
'Bloody Gryffindor's.' Draco shook his head. 'Beggers can't be choosy.' As he pushed Hermione up the rest of the stairs.
Epilogue
Draco put the help-wanted sign in the window and unlocked the door. He watched the early morning shoppers on Diagon Alley. He turned and rush behind the counter and went into the office. As the front doorbell tinkled.
'Be with you in a minute was heard.' As Pansy came thru the door. 'How can I help...' as she spied the person standing at the counter. 'You?' she snarled. 'Harry you are needed at the front counter.' As she turned to look at her paperwork.
'Yes?' Harry said as he looked up and frowned.
'You guys didn't tell me you were opening a shop?' Ron said.
'Ronald Weasley, we told you what we were doing three years ago before you decided we weren't good enough for you to hang around with.' Pansy snarled. 'Why are you here? Lavender dumped you?' she giggled. Ron huffed.
'I came in to see when I can start.'
'Start what?' Pansy asked.
'Working.'
'What happened to the ministry job?' Harry asked.
'Well, they let me go due to lack of performance.' Ron whispered.
'So, you didn't live up to their expectation? With Harry and Miya leaving there was no one to do the work?' Pansy smiled.
'I don't see Draco so you probably need help.' Ron grinned. 'What couldn't he handle a menial job?'
'Ron, he works here too.' Harry said. 'So your services are not needed.'
'Well, where is he?' Ron asked.
'Um, not here.' Hermione said.
'Yea, I bet he doesn't even work here.' Ron grinned, just as the white ferret crawled up his arm. Ron screaming for his life.
'Draco that never gets old.' Pansy said as the laughed, as Draco changed back.
'Hey Harry if he really needs a job, he can have the morning shift.' Draco smiled. 'It will only be four hours, six days a week?'
'That's fine.' Ron grumbled, he really wanted a full schedule.
'Draco, are you sure?' Harry asked. Getting a nod from him.
'Yea I won't need to be here so early and I can cuddle up with Miya longer.' Draco said with a smile just to aggravate Ron.
'Are you two ok with him working here?' Harry asked Hermione and Pansy. Getting nods from the girls.
'Fine be here at five.' Draco said.
~o~
'Good morning,' Draco smiled at a tired looking Ron. 'You will be unloading the trucks and then putting it on the shelves.' Draco spoke as a truck started to back down the ally.
'How do you get trucks?' Ron asked.
'The shop backs up to muggle London. So, no magic can be used in front of the drivers. And any box with "Hometronics" on the side has to be moved by hand, as magic will damage them.' As he pointed to a stack of boxes in the back of the truck.
'Oh, lucky me.' Ron snarled.
'Yes, well I have paperwork to do. Let me know when you have this unloaded and then I will show you what is next.' Draco turned and left the area.
'I've got the truck unloaded.' Ron came into the office sweating.
'Ok, now you can start to put it here.' As he pointed to a wall of shelves 'You will need to mark it off on the paperwork as you stack it.' Showing him what to do. 'The put the papers here.' Pointing to a tray on the corner of his desk. 'There will be one more truck this morning before you leave.' Draco returned to his paperwork. Just before nine Ron came up and placed papers in the tray.
'Got everything put up.' Ron said as he wiped his forehead of sweat, Draco took a quick look at the papers.
'Looks good Thank you. I will be in for the rest of the week if you have any questions and then next week you will be on your own. See you tomorrow.' Draco looked back down to his papers.
'Yea, see ya tomorrow.' Ron grumbled as he left.
'Well, how did he do?' Harry asked as he entered the office.
'Surprisingly good. I was expecting him to grumble more.' Draco said as Hermione and Pansy came in.
'Na, that will be end of the week when he realizes he has to work and can't shuck it off on someone else.' Harry said.
'And there were only two trucks today, Thursday will be the worst with five trucks.' Pansy giggled. 'And one of them is the load of manure.'
Ron came up to the door Thursday to find a note.
"Sorry, something came up I will be in later. Keep up the good work. Draco."
'Great, at least he won't be lurking over my shoulder all morning.' Ron spoke to himself. 'Maybe today it will only be one truck and I can goof off.' He grinned at the possibilities. As he went back to unlock the back door. Was starting to think he was going to have a good day as it was half six and no trucks had shown up yet.
'Crap!' as he heard the backing beeper on a truck, no two trucks. 'Arrgh!' as he had just finished unloading one of the trucks and started on the second one. A third truck started to back in. Five trucks in a row as one pulled out another backed in. The final truck pulled out at half eight. 'Well at least I can get more hours today.' As he started to put the boxes on the shelves. Ron looked up to see Hermione, Harry and Draco walk in just after nine.
'Morning, you're still here? You are normally out of here at nine on the dot.' Draco asked.
'Yea, well I only finished unloading trucks at half eight. So now to put 'em up.' Ron huffed as he put a box on the top shelf.
'Well thank you, we will see you tomorrow morning.' Draco said as he looked at the papers on his desk.
'You don't want me to work over and get these put up?' Ron asked hopeful of extra hours.
'Na, not needed you can get them in the morning. You are only scheduled to work until nine so off you go, I wouldn't want to monopolize all of your time' Draco dismissed him as he left the office. Friday he received two truck loads and was still behind getting all of the boxes onto the shelves. One of the manure bag burst as he placed it on the top of the pile.
'Argh!' as the manure fell down his front. 'Expect me to get this all done without magic. This sucks… I'm done I'm not doing their grunt work.' As he let the bag drop. He went over to a pile of boxes and sat down. The gang walked in to find Ron asleep. Draco made the sound of a backing truck.
'Fuck, they can unload their own trucks, I quit.' Ron grumbled in his sleep.
'So, is this why the work is not done?' Draco growled at Ron as he fell off of the boxes. 'Sleeping on the job.'
'What this job sucks, having to unload everything by hand.' Ron snarled. 'I quit.'
'Ron, why did you move all of these by hand? Why didn't you use magic?' Hermione asked.
'He said I couldn't use magic.' As he nodded towards Draco.
'No… I only said not to use magic in front of the drivers and on the "Hometronic" boxes, you dolt.' Draco snarled.
'You..' realizing the truth.
'Well you own me twenty galleons Hermione, I told you he wouldn't last the week.' Pansy grinned.
'You bet on me?' Ron huffed.
'I was hoping you would do well, and we could hire you on full time.' Hermione whined.
'You what, full time?' Ron huffed again.
'Sorry Ron.' Harry spoke.
