'Hey, Mione… we need to talk.' Ron said as Hermione sat at the breakfast table.

'Ok.' as she plated her food.

'Um, I'm sorry to do this to you but I want to break up with you. I shouldn't have led you on all this time. And you will need to move out, I don't want you to think we will be getting back together.'

Yes, he has finally given up, she thought.

'Oh…ok, just let me finish this and I'll go pack my things.' as she went back to her food.

'Why are you not upset?' Ron screeched. 'We have been dating for what 8 years?'

Well maybe you have, Hermione thought.

'Oh, Ron deep down I am, I just need to process it and then this afternoon I will be a blubbering mess. Please just let me be.' She pretended to cry. Party tonight

'Fine just be out today. Ok?' Ron spat.

'Yes… I can't eat this anymore.' as she pushed her empty plate away. 'Fine I will go pack now and be gone.' She got up and turned, the smile grew on her face as she went thru the door and up the stairs. Finally shot of him.

~o~

'I told you I wasn't taking you back.' Ron growled as he found Hermione sitting outside of Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor, later that day.

Oh, Ron stop beating a dead horse. I'm glad and I was enjoying a nice quiet afternoon.

'Yes, Ron, I heard you the first time I'm just here eating my sorrows away. So, stop reminding me that I can't have you back. Go back to Lavender before she thinks anything is going go between us.' Hermione tried to fake cry.

'Why would I go back to that… that tramp?' Ron snarled.

'Oh, is that what you think of me? You said you couldn't be with me because you love her and was going to marry her.' Lavender pointed to Hermione.

Nope not me, not ever. Hermione grinned to herself.

'I'm not marring her…' as he pointed to Hermione. 'I'm marring her.' As he pointed to Cho Chang as she walked towards them.

'You're marring the Asian princess? Yea right, she thought you were a pig in school, and she has just changed her mind and now wants to marry you?' Lavender started to laugh, Hermione started to giggle as well.

'Tell them honey.' as Cho joined them.

'Oh dear, you are so funny… why would I want to marry you? You are a disgusting lazy pig.' Ron stood there gawping. 'This was a bet that I could get you to finally realize that Hermione was telling the truth when she says the two of you are done, she really doesn't want you. And that you really don't see Lavender as a true wife material, you don't call your girlfriend a tramp. Thank you, sorry it was at your expense.' as she looked around to the growing crowd. Both Hermione and Lavender started to laugh at the look on Ron's face, as he realized he had lost both girlfriends and his future wife.

'Ok so who'd you bet with?' Hermione asked.

'Them.' as she pointed over her shoulder to Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas.

'I won, Hermione couldn't be arsed and glad to be shot of him' Seamus grinned as he collected coins from Dean.

'Well, here. It was very entertaining and maybe he got thru that thick scull of his.' as she handed Seamus a galleon. 'Hey, you guys want an ice cream? It's on me.' They joined her and started to talk, leaving Ron standing there still gawping. Ron you better shut your mouth before you draw flies. 'Dean you really thought I would be upset?'

'Well maybe just a little bit?' he grinned, 'Ok maybe just wanted to see his face when he realized he was now without a backup girl.' Dean's face broke into the widest grin.

'Hey Lavender, would you want to go out tonight for dinner?' Seamus asked and Lavender nodded.
