"Hahahaha! Do you really think you can defeat me young man? Well then let me tell you that you are thousands of light years away from doing so." A tall burly blond haired man taunted.
While many would think the man was making light of the boy at first glance the crowd knew. Knew that he took all of his opponents seriously. If he hadn't he would've fallen from grace long ago.
"I wouldn't be here if I didn't think I stood a chance, All Might." A shorter, green haired boy responded.
"Oh so you're confident huh? Then let's see how you respond to this!"
Drawing out a card from his duel disk All Might had smirked. Just what he'd needed to spice things up a bit.
"I play!"
The duel went on with wild emotions. Every card set, every played spell, every summoned monster were filled with desire to win.
Amazing really, a young man going against the King of Games. Results were up in the air. Both sides put every last drop of their being into the duel of their lives.
"You activated my trap card, go Scrap-Iron-Scarecrow!"
"This card negates the attack of your attacking monster. And as a bonus I get to set it back facedown." Come on young midoriya, show me what you got. All Might's stare cut deep.
"Since you negated my attack I'll play my own card, Double or Nothing!"
"When a monster's attack is negated it allows me a second chance with double the force!"
"Oh come on lad you don't think that will finish me off do ya? We both know better than that."
He was right. This is his last chance, if he doesn't finish it here then he would lose. And with everything he's gone through to make it here? Losing wasn't an option.
Taking another card from his hand he played.
"Now to follow that up I use Action Magic-Full Turn! This doubles any battle damage taken between two monsters!"
"This is the end of the line,All Might!" Izuku believed it was really the end. He truly did.
"You've come a long way young man. With this duel I'd think I've seen most of your potential. And I gotta say it's pretty far up there for your age, amazing honestly. Also you're right, this duel ends here."
It was over in an instant. The cheers and the screams of the crowd blended into a harmony. No one was truly upset with the outcome. A great duel with spectacular duelist's.
Izuku had been right, it had been the end of the line. But not for All Might that is. But for himself.
"I play the trap card Magic Cylinder. I'm pretty sure we all know what this card does."
Izuku fell to his knees laughing.
Seriously, it was one of the oldest tricks in the books and he still lost to it.
Really goes to show that he had that much more to learn.
After everything he's been through to get here. All the trial and error he walked through. Only to make it there and still lose? Honestly disappointment would be an understatement.
Well there's always next time he thought solemnly.
The sounds of footsteps took him for his stupor. His eyes followed its origin. "All Might" he said, cracking a smile.
"Young Midoriya, you've done well" he said, putting out his hand for Izuku to grab.
Izuku thought for a second. On one hand this was his idol. The man he looked up to for his entire life up to now.
On the other hand this guy also just beat him in the funniest way possible in front of millions of people.
It seemed like an eternity before he made his decision. Grabbing All Mights hand and pulling himself he steeled himself before he'd shout.
"Thank you for the duel sir!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
"The honor was mine, young midoriya. You've had me on the ropes too many times for my own sanity. How would you feel about taking an internship? Would give ya some time off from school." All might laughed at his own humor.
This was it. The opportunity to learn from the greatest duelist of all generations. The very thing he's been aiming for his entire life!
He found himself lost in thought staring at the crowd. His friends were there, still cheering on and laughing about. While he did want to learn from All Might, he didn't wanna leave them just yet…
All Might tracked his field of vision and gave a quick nod. "Hmm well maybe next time then. Just know the offer is always there." He said as he began to walk away.
They both made their way off the podium. Wondering when and who they would duel next.
