News had spread fast on the island of sodor about a ghost of Emily's sibling. Most of the engines were very respectable and did not tease her one bit. Anytime Emily sees her she has begun getting visions of what Charlotte would say when they next meet. This brought certain scare to walt and sir topham hatt but most importantly thomas who was sick to the boiler seeing his girlfriend going through trauma and sensitivity to the topic of her sister. One night Thomas and Emily were sleeping in Knapford sheds. The sheds at tidmonth was having a new undercoat. So the engines had to sleep somewhere else. Thomas was suddenly woken to find Emily having trouble sleeping and uncomfortable feelings. In her dreams she sees some demons trying to control her which makes her scared and feel flames not going through her smokebox but for the same fate Charlotte has. This made Emily wake up painting, gasping for air to see if she's alive. Luckily she is. Thomas woke up to the scream and saw emily even if she saw her again. She's getting worse but I might need help to see what's going on in her mind. and Thomas is now worried for her more than ever and he decided to help Emily but how. The next day, Thomas was traveling along his branchline when he saw Walt who had stopped to deliver goods for the branchline. Thomas knew Walt very well; he was a autistic engine and had different features to other engines but he can do visions of others which made him wonder if he is just the engine for the job.

Walt could see Thomas' expression. Thomas, are you ok? Walt said nervously.
It's Emily. I don't know what's gotten into her ever since her sister appeared on the mail train. She had started to feel weird things in her sleep like nightmare sorts. It kinda bothers me a little

Soon Thomas and Emily chatted for a while until they said goodnight to each other and fell asleep. Walt began his vision like no other. He started to see things in the past and the present and as soon as Walt saw things in his head he suddenly appeared in an illuminated world where Emily was in her dreams. Emily had an angel who was suffering badly and sat helpless in the sidings.
That's why Emily started being bossy in the beginning ,he thought to himself
Walt puffed towards Emily's angel and started to see that it was crying from a troubled past. Hello i am Walt and i have come to help you in peace said walt calmly. The suffering angel looked at him and saw the eyes within him so she gave a nod and she explained everything to walt.
He listened closely to every little detail then when she finished Walt gave her solid advice on what not to do and what was in the past stayed in the past.
I suppose you're right, said the angel but there is another part of me I would like to show you.
This made Walt nervous but put a brave face on. Let's see where trouble lies, he said bravely and they both puffed right towards the other half of Emily's dream.
When they got there was a little bit of darkness. Walt knew this so he had his lamp on for this. There was a naive engine that looked like Emily but worse waiting for them.
Well well well an unexpected visitor to torment emily said the demon grinning
Torment replied walt i am here to get you out of Emily and leave the island alone.
Ooh I am so scared, replied the inner demon sarcastically. You could think you have everything controlled. Trust me, I know a lot more than you.

The inner demon just smiled grimly. Emily is a wise and cheerful engine but I knew it had to take her in dark side form and thanks to Gordon and James I got her under my control. It was easy just like a sailor got cursed by the shadow of a ring pirate.
I can defeat you but not easy and it will take days for this but i will not give up on my home or my friends around me with such threats including you.
Charming said the inner demon but some engines like duncan and one other engine is already making rude remarks about emily.

That sent Peter Sam overboard and puffed away in a huff. Duncan just smirk and finished off his work and said the ghost is all but a load of rubbish nonsense.
Walt was horrified but knew that it was true. I don't believe it, replied walt.

Ok but no tricks said walt. The inner demon took Walt's words and agreed and showed him what the other engine was.
Walt could not believe it. The tank engine twins bill and ben were talking among themselves about sir topham hatt's railway being strict and having no fun they also said rude remarks about Gordon, James and one engine that hit the most was Emily. Since the news about the ghost they were laughing non stop.
Emily should be scrapped for laughs, said Bill . Ben stopped laughing at that. He knew that was a serious matter and should not be taken for granted.
Bill what the hell, Emily is one of the best Scottish engines we had. sure we had caused that accident that thomas was in caused us to be stuck in the sheds for a whole season and him to be taking to the works but do you think scrapping her is the worst decision you could make said Ben crossly
bill thought for a moment. You do get a point but i still distaste everything you said otherwise sir topham hatt is just a wannabe for the family that is strict what a poor way to treat us and his family is nothing to me. Ben was shocked over the words that bill said.
Ben just kept doing his work while Bill decided to be a lazy engine like Fred and went to sleep instead.

Walt gasped in a fright. What Walt said furiously .
Now if you will excuse me i have to begin the nightmares for Emily however i do have one more surprise for you, and he summoned forth a spiteful jane rushing towards him in a demonized way which made walt waking up painting.

Walt wasted no time and buffered up to thomas. Sorry I have to do this to you, said walt. What's going on, replied thomas. Within three seconds Thomas was transferred from the ground up and landed onto Emily's line.
Before Thomas could say a single sentence Walt pushed Thomas up to Emily who was almost ready to begin a crippling fear. Thomas coupled onto Emily and he saw the fears in her eyes she was about to moan until a kiss broke that moan and pain. Which made Emily put a smile on her sleepy face. And started to dream more about Thomas saving her from the past.
While Emily was doing that, Thomas spoke to Walt quietly.
Walt what the actual hell was that about gasped thomas.
We have to tell sir topham hatt in the morning. The inner demon came to Emily and started to create nightmares that were unbearable to speak on even when she was in her bossy moods that demon stills lives inside emily and became out of control after charlotte appeared that one night

Thomas did stay with Emily and he did not move one bit. The next morning Emily woke up to find Thomas right in front of her coupled up but Emily was not cross with him she just smiled.
He is so beautiful when he sleeps even when he sleep whistles it's always peaceful to have him hear at knapford sheds.

Meanwhile, Walt just woke up to see Emily smiling. Morning walt he said passing by oh morning emily. Said walt. Hope you slept well. I did as a cuddle fox replied Emily and she went to do her work.
Walt on the other hand puffed out of the sheds to find sir topham hatt. Thomas who was just coupled to her faithful coaches annie and clarabel knew he had to tell sir topham hatt soon but when and how was the question going to be length but thomas knows that walt would have it taken care of.
Sir topham hatt sat in his office inside thinking about Emily's ordeal when he heard a whistle. Walt came puffing into the station. Henry and Duck were also there chatting about the kipper ordeal until Walt came into view.

Oh boy everytime he wants to see an engine a job is prepared for us said Walt to the camera.

I also know that you have been seeing visions of nightmares very recently. Walt knew he had to tell him of what's been going on with Emily very recently. Would you like to explain to me what you have been seeing lately sir topham hatt said .
Walt took a deep breath and explained what happened last night. He saw the inner demon plus 2 rude engines who were speaking very rude about Emily even threatening her with scrap plus the inner demon was planning to rule her to be bossy again like she was back when James and Gordon started to bully and tease her around. This made sir topham hatt very cross.
If you want me to take the scrap train to the ironworks today I would be grateful to do that as well said walt proudly.
Henry and Duck were shocked. Now arry and bert are ruthless menacing looking diesels but they are tamed now ever since arry saw the scrap engines and bert heed the specter's warning and took it by the heart. Sir topham Hatt was very concerned for Walt but he made sure to compress.
Uhh sure Walt, he said but just one question. Sure I have time for one question, anything for you sir, said walt. Who were the 2 rude engines he asked.
Henry and duck Walt said. We know the answer, Duck said. He puffed away to fetch his train. Henry on the other hand stayed behind. After Walt said the 2 engines named sir topham hatt looked stern.
That will be all walt hurry along and fetch your train. And walt did, leaving Henry thinking on what to say to Peter Sam the next time they met.
Walt soon gathered the train and headed off to the iron works. The scrap trucks who were the worst behaved to the engines but with Walt they did well with him and managed quite smoothly. James, who was stopping nearby, saw Walt with orange flames in his eyes remembering his scheme towards Emily and Thomas. The red engine remained respectfully silent Even Edward, Rebecca, percy and toby saw this and they thought best that percy would talk to walt after his train was done . When Walt went to the iron works he was greeted by the two diesels.
Hello walt, how was your trip? Arry said warmly

Oh what for bert said grimly. Not to scrap an engine of course,
no not that but to get rid of an inner demon, said walt.

No time was wasted, the actions were set. And Walt completed every task he had to stand against the inner demon but there was one task he had to complete. Becoming a demon engine. Now the demon engine is with hands and feet colliding together which walt had. He hasn't learned this trick yet.

Walt did soon Walt's feet were standing tall, his hands were showing and his full demon was showing his eyes was full orange, teeth were sharp, looking horrid and he was fully transformed. He demonstrated a scrapped engine and threw it into the molten lava.
Arry and Bert were impressed

Walt did and he thanked the twins now for the potion and he puffed away out of the ironworks. Arry and bert were happy to see they have an inner demon on Sodor to have protection on anybody.

That afternoon Thomas was puffing down his branchline when he saw Walt having a drink.

And Emily's angel let Walt look at her. There were burnt marks on her tender and her buffers. What made it worse is Emily's angel had no funnel which made Walt feel bad. It made Walt tough to see a friend going through it.
It's ok just as long as you are with me then we get through it, said walt.
The angel smiled. Let's defeat this demon once and for all she said. I smiled what's behind me. And we puffed together.
The inner demon was more powerful than ever and saw Walt coming in his way.

The inner demon started to transform into his true form which hasn't aged and looked horrified. Walt looked concern but had contempt.
I am willing to do this shit all day but this could be a full prize of Emily recovering.
And the two of them started to fight even though the fight started to be strong. It took at least 3 minutes throwing fire flames, possessing engines, and even a willingness to throw a brick of shed used from another building to get on with the flame.

But in my friends blood I am not giving up on your dead ass, especially going back where you came from.
Then they started to fight once more. The angel was looking in there seeing the fight in amazement . this kept going on for about a minute and a half until walt saw emily's controls on her feelings walt immediately puffed up on there. Threw a hard brick on the inner demon which made him cautioned.
And started to put a glass in there to control so that none could be damaged.
Emily was still sleeping in her shed but Percy was there seeing Walt himself and needed help but he remembered not to get hurt so he watched.
Put a control so that does not damage how undignified of you said the inner demon sternly.
You started to sound like gordon but unworthy of a pissed off demon trying to control Jane in the first place.

The inner demon started to buffer walt and started to push walt to his unknown world.
Percy knew he had to do something so he buffered up to emily. Walt saw his fatal demise but when he heard someone coming to Emily's mind he had to stop.

I know you might be in there throughout half the night. But I just want to say that I care so much for you. Even though you are much more than a demon engine yourself that protects our island, you're the guardian of all engines and I love that Thomas and Emily are striving but because of you I am still willing to call Emily my mother of all trades.
Suddenly the inner demon started to glitch and that was a sign of victory to walt.
I love you walt as my brother of protection. Please defeat the demon please I don't want my brother to die, continue percy plus I can't live without my mummy. And Percy kissed Emily's cheek which made the inner demon jolt.
no no it said what's happening to me. Mother and son bondage together bitch.
His hands started showing and legs started showing and he started to breathe fire which made the inner demon quivering in fear. This is for Jane and for my friend. The inner demon started to question his own mind but Walt grabbed the inner demon and started to flame the demon with his own hands.
Wait no please i won't take over any engine again please spare me. Spare nothing you son of a bitch walt said and he continued to cook the demon up. The eyes started to come off. Blood from the demon's face started to show and Walt took the biggest breath ever and blew a hot fire right at the demon.
The inner demon screamed from buffer to buffer, his paint started to rust, his coal started up with extra steam, his buffer melted and his funnel was taken off. The inner demon was no more after a few glimpses. The angel was quick out of the sheds.
What if the demon comes back. It aint coming back, said walt. The Inner demon was placed under the fire pits of the scrapyards to rust and it is going to be in there for a long time. Also it vanishes after a few seconds more. The angel was quick to agree.
Now let's get this place cleaned up. Soon afterwards walt made sure that everything was in backing order and the angel got back her funnel.
She was also repainted into normal colors as she once was but then she still saw the demon form of walt.
Oh walt you're still in a demon form, can i least see you in normal form said the angel. I forgot about that he thought and walt turned back into a normal engine and started to more brightly with the angel himself.
I guess everything is back to normal walt said as Emily's controls were back to normal.
It is indeed said by the angel. I wish i called you sooner but we were too scared for who you are.
Walt smiled. Never fear me, he said. I will always protect every engine I call my family to keep this place alive and true to it's legacy that also means visions too. That made the angel smile.
Well better get going and keep Emily happy and he went as if by magic. The angel smiled as he went back into the real world.
Thomas was in the shed with Emily when Walt came out of her visions smiling.
The job is done and no more demons will be coming over to anyone now he said to thomas.
How did you manage? asked thomas. I had help along the way, one particular green engine of course.
Thomas looked out and saw Percy puffing away. Thank you walt hopefully this will manage quite nicely.
I think I need to talk with percy. I will be back tonight I promise. And with that walt puffed away.
Percy was about heading back to the sheds when Walt came to see him.
Oh walt how were you doing said percy.
That was the bravest thing you said percy even if i was in there i could not have done it without you. How did you manage to hear me?
Emily's eyes of course while I was beating the demon. Percy smiled.
Because of your help, said walt. I decided to help you with the mail tomorrow since it will be busy over there.
Percy smiled, he knew he asked for help and now he got it. I will ask sir topham hatt tomorrow just in case to see if that's ok with you , continued walt.

Percy stopped suddenly and saw he was floating from his track into walt's track. He was about to say anything else when he buffered up to him. This is my way of saying thank you. He gave him a steaming hug filled with comfort.
Now let's get you to tidmonth shall we said walt happily . and he pushed percy to tidmonth sheds where he can sleep.
The next morning walt woke up to fine that emily did not wake up from any nightmares which was a blessing in the engines eyes thomas especially he stayed up at least half the night to see if emily had no nightmares and thankfully she didn't and sir topham hatt let thomas rest for the day and Emily took Thomas's job as well as her own. Walt kinda feels proud but he is wondering about what would happen to Duncan and bill. Walt was soon taking the mail train as promised for Percy and sir topham hatt agreed.
He was puffing down the line when he saw Millie down the line with Luke as her banker. Walt thought to himself to see a vision of what happened that day but before he could finish his delivery he saw Ben with Timothy taking a special train to brendam docks.
It was filled with special antiques that were part of a museum to the mainland. Walt made the decision to ask sir topham hatt the next time he sees him. But Walt did not make the chance until the following day. He was taking stone cars to the docks when he saw sir topham hatt walking towards him.
Well Walt i see that you cured Emily right up and she has been cheerful all day. You are a very useful engine and a credit to the railway.
Thank you sir but what happened to bill and Duncan said walt.
Sir topham hatt gave him something . After work put this on to see what happened to them he said.
Walt agreed and he puffed away. That night Emily was all happy and cheerful that he felt glad she could sleep through the night. Walt came back to the shed and Emily greeted him warmly. I can not tell you how grateful I am for saving me, she said. That's an engine I know I could trust more often.
How did you know that I saved you from your nightmares? said Walt.
Percy told me yesterday replied Emily, he said that you killed my inner demon but how did you find out.
Since you and Charlotte had a meetup your angel told me to come in there to destroy that engine that was controlling you. Thankfully I did after what he did to my friend who was killed with passengers on board which gutted me the most he said to Emily. Jane was also my lover too but it was too complicated to say it years later. Jane was the first engine I met and Ian was my brother.
Emily was shocked he knew Walt was a kind soul but never did he witness something so harsh. Ian never told me Jane died until I found out on my own within my vision. I cried for days on end. That moment stayed with me for years. I came to sodor years before after stepney came to the railway. I was never seen until Thomas spotted me shunting for the other engines.
Emily could see his sorrow growing but Walt stopped immediately . But.. it never let me down saying that I was reminded of Jane and what she would do to pull trucks and coaches. I guess Jane was a very lovely engine to you.
You have your boyfriend Emily but I will have one eventually. He finished with a memory he had with Jane right before he left for sodor. I always promised everything to her and I am going to keep her happy just as long as my heart goes anywhere. Emily smiled at that.

He's staying in the sheds of tidmonth facing a punishment tomorrow said walt sadly after he told Bertie that they should race again and did just that which led to complaints from the passengers. I am taking over his branchline duties as part of his punishment. The bus company also told Bertie he is to do quarry duty until he can be trusted again after a week in the bus depot for that as well.
Emily was surprised that walt will be taking over his branchline which was a sense of relief but also cross that thomas broke the safety rule but he will talk to Thomas in the morning.
Oh Thomas, what am I going to do with you she murmured. Hey you had your hard days work now get some good rest be our safety engine tomorrow so that you can protect the line said walt. I am going to stay up a little longer because I have a video to watch that sir topham gave me.

Walt was soon transported to the narrow gauge sheds where he saw Duncan resting peacefully when he saw a man walking towards him.

Actually it was a lovely day until I had a couple of complaints from fellow engines about Scottish and bigger engines.
Duncan felt ashamed he got caught and did not try to cover it up. I was just getting my own opinions and having James as a fellow friend.
Mr Percival was not pleased one bit. Firstly what you didn't know about James is that he is always boastful and does not tell the truth which led to you rock and roll in the first place and derailed you should have known better Duncan trusting engines before getting to known them first.
Duncan looked ashamed.

let me remind you duncan that emily is gone through a hard time about missing her sister and does not want to hear rude remarks from engines like you imagine if you were in emily's place and someone teases you about it.

Mr Percival turned on his heel and walked sternly away. Duncan sat in his shed feeling alone and also to think about what he was going to say to emily when they next met.
